Every picture I looked at on-line that was a fixture with cozumel gold finish from Westinghouse has the look of being a bright golden kind of brassy look with dark paint around the decorative features. The two I ordered are dark flat paint with only a little different color paint in the crevices of the decorative features. When we hold it up to the ceiling it looks totally brown, not golden! I am going to have to paint a $60.00 fixture or send them back.

I have had the Designers Edge Motion-Activated Outdoor Wall Sconce for over a year and it is still working wonderfully. You can adjust the sensor so that it becomes more or less sensitive to motion. You can turn the light on, from the inside house switch, so that it stays on for as long as you want, then just turn it off to resume the motion sensor. We purchased these because they look like the ones our HOA has on our townhomes minus the sensor. No one has noticed we changed ours. They look great and work great. The range on the motion is a little short, but glad to have purchased them.

I needed to replace my previous lantern and I wanted to find some sort of motion detection system as well. I found this one here on Amazon and boy am I happy with the purchase. It detects movement all the way out to the edge of my driveway, and lights up right away. I put a compact flourescent bulb in it, but really, it conserves energy just by its design.

The best part about it, and one I didn't even realize when I bought it, was that the bugs aren't attracted to it like they were to my previous one which was on all night. It stays on so infrequently that they aren't drawn to it. Plus the bulb is sealed inside it and not open to the elements. So it looks brand new even now, which is 6 months later. My old one was only a few years old, but it had dead bugs and spiders and all kinds of junk all over it. It got so covered with that stuff that it looked crappy.

This was an excellent purchase and the price is really good too. Highly recommended.

So after buying this lamp, I had to eat year-old protein powder as food for like a month.

Its actually a very awesome lamp. I move around a lot, like 1.2 times a year on average. So I was surprised to find how easy this thing was to take apart and fold. It works great and the brightness is impeccable. I use it to light up my new living room at night since I can't find my floor lamp in storage. I was studying the GMAT with this thing and I had no trouble. It blasts out clean cool light and not overwhelming at all. I purchased these knowing the motion detection was for close range less than 12 inches. I'm using these under cabinets in my breakfast room. The lights arrived an hour ago. Already installed and they look great. I was replacing fluorescent undercabinet lights where some had failed and couldn't be matched to a new product. I do not have much of a lip under my cabinet...0.75"...but that is enough to hide the lights and just leave the illumination on the counter. I initially was disappointed as the lights seemed dim, but once I figured out you need to press the switch to cycle through the brightness settings all was well. I picked the cool white version as I like a bright work area. It would be nice to see what the warm white look like but I was concerned they wouldn't be enough. And an extra pair of 4" connection cables would be nice (order them now...trust me) but the product came with plenty of mounting and interconnection hardware so I could make it all work. I did just order a 12' extension so I can eliminate one switch/dimmer and have the lights on the other side of the sink all on one control. But no complaints! It's a great product.

Installation was easy, about 2 hours. That's including making one long cable out of 2 short ones. I tried several positions and then settled on mounting them about 1 inch back from the front edge of the counter bottom to get the best overall illumination of the counter. We've been using them for just 3 days now but the wife already loves them!

I had the regular deluxe series under mount lighting kit from Inspired LED in my cart for about 6 months before I decided to get serious about ordering. Before pulling the trigger, I did a little more searching to see if anything else was out there when I ran across the new designer series products. I figured for a little extra money, they looked a little better (since you can see them in the reflection of my granite) and came with a few extras like the dimmers. The package was perfectly sized coming in my door which was impressive off the start and once I began installing them I couldn't believe how easy it was. It's truly a plug and play system where you don't need to worry about messing something up or putting the plugs in upside down (think USB) or hard wire anything. It comes with all the necessary clips to hide the wires and the transformers are small. I tried using the sticky pads at first but half detached from my cabinets within a few days so I ended up using the provided screws to hold lights up which wasn't too much more effort. I would recommend these to anyone, the cool white color looks impressive and really brings out the variation in my black/green granite.

Equivalent bulb that I replaced had a much larger base tip and is identical in all other aspects. To make them work, I had to solder additional material to them in order to adequately make contact.

Bought a name brand hugger fan with LED LIGHT for the kitchen and it was very yellow lighting. Had to change that to make the wife happy. Purchase 200 LEDs unsoldered then in groups of five, did verification I had the set of LEDs in correctly. Took about four hours to complete, you must have PC board vice, solder iron setup to heat both leads at same time to quickly remove and replace. To verify I used two double AS batteries to illuminate the substrings of LEDs. Wife is very pleased with results. Kitchen is now all LEDs of same color. Matches the under cabinet LED lights.

I'm replacing incandescents in my bathroom with these. They are not warm enough for my general living space, but are sufficient for the bathroom where relaxing light is less important. If you like daylight, or bright white lights, these are going to be great for you. If you want to see every detail of your face and you have lights over the mirror, these (perhaps unfortunately) work great for that too!

If you want more yellow light that is similar to incandescents, I recommend the Philips Warm White 800 Lumens 2700K. QTY 4 / Philips Ambient LED Light Bulb Dimmable 60 Watt Replacement Warm White (2700K) 800 Lumens You can dim the Philips, while the Samsung LED cannot be dimmed. After my CFL light bulbs all started to die, I really did not want to go back to an incandescent bulb. Too much energy. This was the best deal I found on the internet for price of LED bulbs. I have placed these in fixtures over the bathroom mirrors, and they are immensely bright! Perfect for makeup! And they light up the entire bathroom! I also used one to replace a bulb in my ceiling fan. They are much brighter than the CFL's, in my opinion, and cost less to operate! Great investment!

This is my second time purchasing from this supplier, and I highly recommend them. The packaging for the shipment was excellent. Lighting Ever 7W White LED bulb

These are cool white LED bulbs, with a rated color temperature of 6000K (replicates the color of sunlight). The power consumption is rated at 7W, and the light output is listed as 630 lumens on the box. As we all know, LED lighting is very directional so it is typically aimed at a certain direction versus CFL or incandescent which spreads out. Therefore, there is a white aspherical lens/diffuser on this A19 bulb that helps spread it out, but it is still rather directional. My Kill A Watt confirmed the power consumption to be 7.1W.

These are generally recommended for recessed lighting, although I am using a pair of these in my bathroom which has a vertical light fixture aimed straight down. I will be straightforward. I LOVE the 4000K-6500K color temperature spectrum. The first time I flicked these on in the bathroom, I thought I suddenly had a new skylight because it felt like the sun was right over my head. The cool white also has much better color reproduction, in other words, it reflects the true colors of objects and skin. The warm lighting hides everything.

I absolutely despise the "warm" light from incandescents (2700K) or halogen (3200K) for a number of reasons. The human eye is designed to receive light most effectively between 4000k-5000K, anything above 6500K starts to run into diminishing returns and looks more purple. Car headlamps used to be dingy yellow (2700K) and then halogens were about 3200K. The earliest HIDs were 4000-4300K which looks more white. The latest HIDs and LED headlights on cars are in the 5000K-6000K range and are FAR more effective in lighting. I see that there is still a lot of people that demand warm LEDs for their homes and I am bewildered as to why they want that inferior lighting other than aesthetics.

Studies have shown that cool white lighting (such as the 4000k-6000K color temperature of sunlight) can reduce Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). I've used cool white CFLs in my house for well over a year and prefer it over warm lighting. The cool white doesn't hurt my eyes, and I always feel like I am sitting under the sun.

These LED bulbs easily cut the energy consumption by half when compared to CFLs. Doing some math, just using these for a year would result in savings that offset the cost of the LED bulbs, which is very nice. These do produce some heat, but LEDs produce heat on the emitter side and not at the light source or diffuser. In other words, the heatsink gets very hot so watch your hands. LEDs technically work better when cold, but I actually worked on LED headlights for the automotive market and we found that LED headlights produced more light output when they were heated up but not necessarily overheated. In arctic environments, the light output was actually less.

Overall: 5/5 stars, I wanted to buy more of these but they're out of stock. I'd like to see more light output and the cool white (6000K) color temperature is perfect. I despise warm white (anything below 4000K).

UPDATE: 29 AUG 2013

These LED bulbs are still working after several months. I noticed that bugs are not attracted to the light like they are towards CFLs and incandescents/halogens.

I am delighted to replace CFBs (compact florescent bulbs) with LEDs!!! No more mercury and cool bulbs to the touch. What great technology.

I prefer the higher-end CRI (color rating index) bulbs, because I don't like yellow light and I love white light. So make sure you look at the bulb description to see if it says warm white (yellow light) or daylight (whiter) or cool white (whiter).

Update After using the bulbs for two weeks, one of the three I bought stopped working. Amazon has a good return policy, but I had to pay for shipping back to Amazon, which I am not very happy about. I would not buy these.

I waited a while before jumping on the LED bandwagon because the technology was still new and the price was prohibitive. I finally decided to try these bulbs, and replaced 3 CFL's in one lighting fixture. I am happy to report that I am very pleased with the look, feel, and lighting provided by these bulbs, and will be ordering more to replace the lights I use often.

I had a chance to e-mail the manufacturer and they were always prompt in replying to my questions. I believe I found a quality product, backed by a good company, and a very good price point.

Review of GE 11243 LED Candle Lite Night Light

I'm a big fan of LED lights. In addition to LED bulbs, flashlights, and lamps, I have this, two other light-detection LED nightlights, and three motion detection LED nightlights. All six are different. This is in my "top two". (it's a tie, depending on function/area of use)

PROS:

LED (saves, energy, money, and does not get hot)

nice deep amber/orangey light (think: old caste lights)

Not very bright (just right for my use)

light detection (less ambient light = more flicker & vice-versa)

VERY nice looking (oil-rubbed bronze effect, subtle tin-stamp style scroll-like pattern, slightly curved backplate)

super-cool flicker effect

CONS:

takes up the space of two electrical outlets (this could be a PRO, as it is designed to do so. It doesn't really bother me, but may bother others.

no light "direction", just illuminates surrounding area (not bad, but can be if you want light to only light the floor, etc.

This is one of my favorite lights. I am very happy with it. I keep it in my guest bathroom and its very "welcoming", instead of having guests walk into a dark bathroom. For some, there may be CONS (not for me, as I like all features of the light). The PROs are more important to me than the potential CONs.

There are better products GE 11257 LED Leaves CoverLite, Faux Nickelif you are looking for an automatic LED light that plugs into an outlet. The one I listed give off much better light and is suited for a hallway, living room, kitchen, or large room. It may be too bright to have in a bedroom.

I would pass on this unless you want a VERY dim light with a nice flicker effect, and don't mind a little white candle nub sticking out a bit.

Well made, no complaints.

have been using 2 of these 24/7 for almost a year. One string is always-on at a bar/restaurant. The other provides (always-on) supplemental/mood lighting in my apartment as part of a 25+ meter installation. I've even run them for days off a small 12v SLA battery. I've also used these with a variety of power sources between 12 and 19 volts. I got the best results with an old 17ish volt laptop charger.

I'm definitely ordering more!

After reading the previous reviews and being totally sick of changing T8 florescent tubes I decided to take a chance and ordered two of these. Based upon the reviews I had pretty low expectations. I can tell you that ANYONE with even the most rudimentary handy person skills can do the simple rewiring required to make these work. If you are very very slow it should take you no more than 15 minutes to convert each fixture. After removing the shade from the fixture, simply remove the reflector/cover from over the ballast and wiring. This will expose the ballast and wiring. Remove the ballast (or cut away the wires and leave the ballast in place) and then wire the fixtures black/blue/red (whichever color(s) your fixture uses) to the black or "hot" wire in the wiring coming into your fixture from your house wiring and wire the fixtures white wire to the white or "neutral" wire from your house wiring, re-install the reflector/cover over the wiring (and now abandoned ballast if you chose to leave it in place, install the new LED tube(s) into the fixture just as you would the "normal" tubes, re-install the fixture cover and you are done. Be sure and install or re-install wire nuts on the wiring connections to secure and insulate the connections and make sure that none of the exposed conductor in the wires extends outside the wire nuts. It takes less than a 1/2 second (virtually instant) for the LED strip to light once switched on in my experience. This is much faster than the times quoted in the other reviews. These strips are very bright and I used one LED strip in each of two fixtures to light a 12 x 12 foot room that previously used 4 tubes to provide barely adequate but not ideal light. The light from the LED strips is very white and very bright and I believe that I will stay with only one in each fixture or perhaps add one more strip at the most. In either case the two LED strips provide more and better light than the previous 4 florescent tubes ever did. So far I am very happy with these and am very happy to cut my energy consumption further and have one more source of mercury removed from my home. Now, if someone would come out with a quality and affordable 100 watt equivalent screw in bulb I would have my entire home converted to LED and will never go back to the mercury laden CFLs or energy wasting incandescent bulbs.

I have a 4' T8 fixture in my garage. It gets cold here in New England and when its cold it takes a long time for the fluorescent bulbs to get bright and it seems to kill them. I have had a bulb burn out approximately once a year vs the ones in my basement that are still going after a decade. So I decided to see if these LED replacements would work better.

These don't use the ballast so you do have to re-wire the fixture. I left the ballast in place and just wired around it. One of the first lamps I got had a 6" section in the center that wasn't lighting. Lightkiwi replaced it quickly (and refunded my shipping) but the second one was completely dead. They replaced that one even faster and it was fine. So far I've had them running for 6 weeks and they work great. They come on virtually instantly to full brightness. It has not been below freezing since I bought them so I'll have to wait until next winter to see how they fare in really cold temperatures. The light seems pretty close to the amount I got from the fluorescent bulbs.

I have 12 similar fixtures in my basement shop but I'm not considering using these down there right now. Too much money and not enough energy savings to make it worthwhile.

This is great product. Saw some reviews that they don't work but I think they didn't install the product correctly. Installation step was quite different from old florescent and it is extra work for first time but since it should last really long time compare to old florescent, this is definitely worth to make a change. Love it! My kitchen looks like it came from a magazine! It does take two people to install but it only took about 45 minutes. My kitchen is quite large and I put this over the center island/stove. It's perfect!
