This is a nice style deck or dock light. I've had several for a few years and they quit working so I am now replacing them. Quality of construction ok, I haven't had any rust problems with the outer case, but wiring connector does corrode and it is very dificult to repair. These things might cost a dollar to manufacture (including bulb), so there is a huge markup, but I didn't find any good alternatives.

Just the right amount of directional lighting along my driveway. I did have to upgrade my low-voltage transformer because I exceeded the number of lights recommended and learned (the hard way) that not all low voltage transformers are equal. I put the wire in conduit to keep the squirrels at bay, and the dogs from digging it up. That takes a little more work, and needed a T connector to raise from the ground and mount along the fence but that little extra cost, with the reasonable price of these lights turned into a first class project.

I received these lights when promised. The lights themselves are very cheaply made which explains the cheap price. The only real problem was that they have cheapened these up so much that I had to slice the existing cable to make the connection punch through. The connectors are terrible so make sure they work before you bury them or cover them under your wood deck like I did.

I installed six of these on my deck more than a year ago. They installed easily and still look good. All six of them are still working perfectly, no bulb replacements or any other maintenance required.

Overall, I haven't had to think about them since they were installed. That's exactly what you want in this sort of product.

I have purchased several of these lights to add to an existing lighting system. By changing the bulbs to LED you can triple the number of lights that the system can support. These lights are very easy to install with two provided screws and the wire connections do not need any tools. I have several of this along my fence as the side of my house giving me good lighting for walking along the side of the home.

How many different things can a light do? Quite a few! I am attaching a video which shows Lune light doing five different tasks.

✔ The first segment shows Lune light lighting wall art. The top of the light can be rotated and aimed at many different angles. The color changes totally change how the artwork looks. As the color changes it almost looks like the sail boat is moving.

✔ The second segment shows Lune light by itself as a modern shape sculpture. It would fit nicely in a modern style decor.

✔ The third segment positions the lamp to reflect from the wall silhouetting the pottery on top of by book case.

✔ In the fourth segment I put Lune light inside the china cabinet so it can highlight my holiday dishes.

✔ The final segment show this light as ... a burglar deterrent. As I was trying to find a perfect place for the light in my house it occurred to me that the color changes observed from the outside look like TV is on. I have been considering buying a FakeTV FTV-11 Extra Bright Burglar Deterrent which makes the house look occupied when you are away. The Lune light performs the same function but looks a lot prettier. When I am home the light decorates. When I am away it protects! The video shows what the light looks like from the outside. I aimed it at the wall near the window. Note that for burglar deterrent purpose I am using the light on a separately purchased timer so it comes on every evening like a real TV would.

I am also attaching a collage of 6 photos which you can find by following 'customer photos' link under the main photo.

✔ The first photo shows how the Lune light arrived it is very well protected by its packaging.

✔ The second photo shows the light and its power cord. The top section containing the light rotates 50 degrees in one direction and 240 degrees in the other direction. This allows you to select the angle of the light whether you want to light something on the wall, have the light reflect from the wall or the ceiling, etc. The cord is fairly short (56 inches), I really could not reach any of the location I wanted to place the light without using an extension cord. The plug is not polarized. The light is 7.5 inches tall, 8.5 inches wide, 3 1/8 inches thick.

✔ Photos 3 through 5 shows several different colors the light produces and how each shade changes the appearance of the room it is in.

The light has seven preset color options: 5 solid colors (red , yellow, green, teal, blue, purple, white) and 2 changing colors (fast fade 1.5 seconds between colors and slow fade 2.4 seconds between colors). My favorite is the slow fade.

It took a little practice to turn the light off and to change colors reliably every time. I found that capping the base of the light with my open palm works best for me. To turn off the light I hold my palm in place longer, to turn on and change settings hold my palm in place briefly.

I received a sample unit for providing an honest review be it positive or negative. I have no financial interest or business relationship with the manufacturer, and this review represents my independent opinion of the product.

I really like the Lune light not only because it looks good and is a conversation piece but also because it can serve many different functions including making my house look occupied when I am not there.

This light is simply explained as beautiful. It is a round ring the can be adjusted into a different shapes and it has to power to output multiple colors of light. The lamp can be set to light up with one of seven colors from red, yellow, green, teal, blue, purple and white. You can even adjust the brightness of the light from very dim to very bright and you have almost infinite brightness control to set the mood you like for the lighting. The light can also scan the different colors of the light at one of two different rate settings where the color changes every 1.6 seconds or every 2.6 seconds.

The lamp is stylishly made and looks like a modern piece of art. It is available in Alpine White and Sparkling Black. This lamp is so beautiful and easy to use that I made a video of it in operation so you can see how nice it looks. It is ideal as a table lamp, a fireplace mantel lamp, an entry way lamp or put into any room where you would enjoy the effects of its light changing capabilities.

The lamp features a touch control sensor on the inside of the ring on the bottom that allows you to quickly set up the operation the way you want.

* To turn on the lamp just touch the inside bottom curve of the lamp.

* If the lamp is on then tap once to change the colors.

* To dim the color touch the control pad and dim the light brightness to your desired setting and if you go too far then just tap the control area and the color goes to full bright.

* To turn off the lamp continuously touch the control pad until the lamp turns off.

You can shine the light into the inner ring and it is beautiful but you can also rotate the Lune's rotary top. It will rotate 50° in one direction and 240° in the other to allow you to set the shape of the lamp and direct the light in the direction you want. The lamp can be bright in a dark room as the power consumption is 9 watts and it uses Dense Matrix LED technology. It comes with an AC wall power adapter that has a cord that is 58 inches long.

This light is a real conversation piece and it is quite sexy. It is a combination of a mood setting light and a stylish piece of artwork. If you are looking for something beautiful and unique then I recommend that you take a look at this. I rated it at 5 stars.

To say I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement. I loved the crisp packaging and incredible design of this tool. With it's hard anodized aluminum finish, O-ring seals, Xenon lamp and metallic-vapor coated reflector this is easily one of the best flashlights I have ever owned. Because the Surefire E2D is a tactical light, it is held in an icepick fashion and operated by a tailcap switch. You push the button lightly for momentary activation or press all the way to leave on.

I'm a martial artist and I can attest to the importance of being able to effectively protect yourself without raising the eyebrows of the law. For those that believe in this, this is THE tool to own. The E2D is both a visual and impact weapon combined. The flashlight uses a Xenon bulb, a conductive gas bulb, the same ones used in projectors. At a blinding 60 Lumens (light intensity), it's enough to leave an assailant seeing stars while you get away. Should the need arise, the flashlight can function as a nasty Yawara stick. The Surefire E2D is armed with scalloped bezels, as sharp as screwdriver tips, at both ends that can be used for hammerfist and thrusting strikes. If you want to get a rough feel for what a hammerfist strike is like, take a metal or wooden rod, hold it in an icepick grip and slam it as hard as you can into something. More than likely it will leave a distinguishable dent. The only difference with the Surefire is that the scalloped bezels are fashioned like teeth to concentrate the power and even puncture the target. That's enough power to crack a skull, break bones and/or leave a nasty bruise. It's highly recommended you only use the flashlight in this manner when your life is in danger. Applying joint locks is not out of the question although the natural reaction for anyone is to strike first. For those trained in such styles, the E2D is a great pain compliance and control tool whereby the sharp ends of the scalloped bezel can be used to grind into pressure-sensitive and bony areas to subdue an assailant.

Lastly, the flashlight can also function as a fistload, reinforcing your punches in a self-defense situation.

With that being said, this flashlight is definitely something that should be looked into.

I always carry a nice pocket knife and a flash light .

I have the executive defender. I wish i had gotten a light without the sharp edges on it. I mean they aren't sharp like a knife, but in your pocket they don't feel good if you carry the light and reach in your pocket for change. I have had my light cut a hole in a pair of pants.

that being said, i love this light, the batteries don't last long, but i normally don't have my light on for an hour where i cant get to a fresh set of batteries.

my chief complaint

The belt clip cant compare to the one on my Benchmade knife.

I own a 1/2 dozen surefire flashlights. This one is small, light, durable and bright. The striker bezel is a great impact weapon as well. I carry this one with me, all the other ones have their own places around the house and cars. If you can't afford this price point but need a bright flashlight, go with their G2 Nitrolon: for $35 it can't be beat. If you don't need the blinding 60 lumens this model provides but have the bucks to spend, then take a look at the LED models they offer such as the L1 LumaMax or E2L Outdoorsman; They don't provide the high intensity, but the batteries last much longer and their slightly higher price pays for itself in battery cost and replacement bulb cost savings. Nothing beats a Sure-Fire flashlight!

Cons:

1)It arrived without the extension tube which was prominently featured in many of ePathDirect's stock photos. The phrase "Additional aircraft-grade aluminum alloy tube, Support a 296mm long outdoor extended flashlight," led me to believe the product was bundled with the extension tube. This means the flashlight can only accommodate the 2 battery configuration at roughly 230mm.

2)Also missing was the third battery. Not only was the battery also featured prominently in the photos but it was listed under ePathDirect's description of "what's in the box."

Pros:

1)The product arrived very quickly, 2 days ahead of schedule.

2)It did turn on. It's bright. Retina-cooking bright.

3)The batteries are labeled on their jacket with "no memory effect, short circuit, overcharge and discharge protection." (No listing agency is marked however.)

(The lumen rating doesn't appear to be ANSI lumens, but some other lumen standard. The brightness is less than what Americans would consider 3800 lumens, but I don't have a meter, so I don't exactly what the difference is.)

For the price this is still a decent purchase. It comes in at about a quarter of the price of comparably a bright Surefire. Which is to say, "bright enough that I would be comfortable performing a fair amount of surgery under it." The case is solid, with less parts to loosen, rattle, break, or otherwise confound operation than some other knockoff flashlights. The untreated, unprotected glass lens makes me worry since I plan to treat this flashlight about as well as it's price commands and no better. But for the cost, I'll make a replacement if I have to. By including the charger and batteries ePathDirect made bundling the right parts foolproof. Minus one star for a misleading listing and another for the missing parts.

1 star now.

The light failed after less than one hour of use. It no longer turns on when I press the button. It flickers on if I shake, or occasionally stays on if the light is pointed directly at the ground. So minus another star for build quality. I contacted the seller about the missing battery and extension tube. The customer service representative, Jenny, told me that, "We have checked our sku and listing. It seems that other seller changed the listing. The item we listed was a flashlight without the extended battery." Obviously as of April 6, 2012 that is an out-and-out lie. If you are here today or before (or perhaps after) the listing includes language for both the third battery and an extension tube to accommodate it. Her response only says "extended battery." I don't know if that means "third" battery or extension "tube" but I doubt she meant to address both missing pieces with that sentence. Minus another star for customer "service." If you get a working light with all the pieces and don't need to contact customer service you've got yourself a 4 star product considering the price. If.

I was waiting on my online battery order to arrive via Hong Kong Post and that takes a while. I like it.

My eyes are getting older and with that my ability to focus on small items just needs more light. I have also started working with electronic circuits these things are tiny and precision on these is measured in millimeters so I also needed a magnifier. With that said getting both items in the same package was just a bonus. The light is bright the magnification glass is clear and easy to focus where I need it. And the LED lights don't heat up like halogen. The only thing I would change is the Magnifier cover. There should be a way to keep it open without removing it from the light very minor but it is annoying.

Excellent light for my work desk. Ample light to light up the small connectors and small screws The horizontal positioning is retcheting so angling the light is easily accomp0lished. The cover over the lens helps keeping dust out of the optic.

Great light source and low power draw.

When it;s colder in my garage than inside my freezer, the LEDs will light but florescent will not. That's why the LED is perfect.

You need to reuse grey holders but the price is much cheaper than dealer's even with S/H.

I do not recommend Radio Shack 3mm T1 bulbs for above application since these are noticiably dimmer.

Very bright, also requires a huge heat sink........get very hot over 9 volts.

From a car battery 12 volts, which is actually 13.5, this would burn up in a few seconds, with out a resister.

One should use a current limiter, but you can get by with a resistor. Please use at least a 5 OHM, 10 WATT Resister.

I use a 10 OHM, 25 Watt resister, sold here on Amazon, with a huge heat sink.

If you do not understand, electronics, please ask someone with knowledge, and you could hurt yourself, or your car.

As for being bright, it is blinding to look at.

I have ran these bulbs for 5 years now. They put out a ton of light for the 65 watts they use. I have had zero trouble with them. Like I said, 2 of them are 5 years old now and still work great.

Update I recently tried a pair of Square Perfect Professional Quality 65 Watt Compact Fluorescent Bulbs to compare to these. They were $6 cheaper so I thought I would give them a try. The Sylvania bulbs are much brighter. Over 500 higher on my lux meter. I will stick with the Sylvania bulbs.

First of all, if you are trying to recharge this unit, you are in trouble because it does not have a battery. The only low reviews talk about the battery. I wanted a non chargable, light weight, high beam light that was 12 volt and pluged into the cigarette lighter of a vehicle. The unit meets all of those requirements. I can carry this unit in my vehicle and not have to worry about charging it before I use it. It even comes with a carrying case and an extra bulb. This product was given to me as a gift by one of my photography students. It seemed like overkill (it is extremely bright) so I thought I'd probably seldom use it for the one application I had in mind: Using the light to "paint" subjects in night photography. But I must admit it does a great job with far off subjects. For example it lit up the entire length of a 718 foot long bridge on the coast of Big Sur, California and a waterfall some 500 feet away. Since it's a halogen bulb in a photograph the light is a pleasing warm color rather than the blue of a high lumen LED flashlight. Indeed the light looks like sunlight.

I've paired the spotlight it with a "Jump Start" battery (a 12V booster battery with a cigarette lighter connector) to make it a portable unit. I prefer this arrangement to one with a built in (heavy and wimpy) battery. With my 8Ah battery the thing ran for about an hour in total and the battery still had plenty of spunk left.

My two complaints are that the unit is a bit bulky and the cord is just a tad too short. But it is a light light :-) with lots of zip. I also like that "beam/spot" operation where pressing the trigger changes it from a narrow beam spot light to a wider beam floodlight though not dramatically wider.

PS I guess you could say the unit paid for itself because that waterfall with Milky Way picture (see the product pictures) has been a big seller.

I have purchased several sets of these and place additional orders to finish replacing the various mini halogen can lights throughout my home. They put out a nice warm light and are almost as bright as the halogens they are replacing. The other users comment about the beam being too focused may be a problem for his application, but for all of mine, it is not an issue. Especially when in a ceiling. By the time the beam reaches the ground the beam is quite nicely diffused.

This would probably not be a good choice for a unit close to something underneath it, like a table or a counter top. Unless you are looking for more of a spot light type look. I would estimate the beam coverage at 36" away from the fixture to be about 26".

The fact that they use 90% less energy and produce virtually no heat is a definite plus for me as well.

THESE BULBS WORK WELL, DIM WITH A REGULAR 100V HOUSEHOLD DIMMER, AND HAVE A FAIRLY 'WARM' COLOR. NOT AS BRIGHT AS THE 7 WATT VARIETY, BUT THEY THROW A GOOD, 'FLOOD' TYPE PATTERN.

I have a lamp that takes 5 GU10 bulbs. The original incandescent bulbs burned out at different times, so I have been experimenting with different LED GU10 replacements. These bulbs work, but are about a quarter (1/4th) of an inch longer (from base to front) than other LEDs I already had in place. These bulbs also flickered visibly for the first two days of operation, but then stopped flickering and seem to be working well now. The lights that these bulbs emit is similar to my other higher-priced light bulbs -it's not brighter, differently colored, nor weird in any way.

I will probably purchase these bulbs again.

I ordered six of these for track lighting. All six worked right out of the box, and seemed to be a "whiter" light than the halogens they replaced. Like other LEDs, they're power-efficient and don't heat up as much as halogens. I didn't have the humming or flicker that can happen with LEDs. The only reason I didn't go 5 stars is I *just* got them; I like everything so far; they'll probably pay for themselves in months from the electricity and air conditioning savings. They are a bit bigger than the halogens they replaced, but fit well in my fixture.

I got the bulbs in December and now have a failed bulb, and I hope there is a simple way for exchange and replacement.

I bought some different brands and this is the first failure. Supposed to have a 2 year warranty.
