I've had this on a few camping trips and I'd say it is a decent product, within its capabilities, but unfortunately, its capabilities are limited.

You can't expect performance up there with a home fan from a 6" fan powered by 2 D-cell batteries. It just isn't going to be that strong. Unfortunately, for the summers here in MD (and in most of the country) you need a more powerful fan than this to be comfortable. The 2 D-cells do give about the 16 hours of operation it is rated for (I got about 2 1/2 nights on high before the performance noticeably decreased).

Put it a few inches from your head and you'll get some air circulation. It is certainly better than nothing, and if these little camp fans from Texsport and Coleman were your only options, they'd buy you a little more camping comfort. However, for car camping, they are no longer your only options. I'm going to buy one of the O2Cool battery operated fans. 8 D-cells and a 10" blade will make for a much more powerful fan and much more air circulation, and initial price is similar. Even though they take 8 D-cells instead of 2 like the Texsport, they are rated for 40 hours of operation as opposed to this fan's 16hrs, 2 1/2 times longer. So, you won't be spending that much more on batteries (10 batteries for 80 hours of operation for the Texsport, 16 batteries for 80 hours of much more effective operation for the O2Cool, or at about $1.50/battery, about $15 for a mostly ineffective Texsport and $24 for the more effective O2). The O2 is still cheaper to operate for about a week than the cost of an electric site (so you can use a home fan) for a day. The Texsport has the advantage if you have a very small tent and don't have the space for the 10" O2, but need something, or if you are backpacking (though for that, Coleman has similar fans that are even smaller).

The light is useful for changing and getting ready for bed, and being built-in it is a nice space savings. However, it isn't super bright so you wouldn't want to read with it. Also, the lens shape distorts the light a little and makes for some interesting shadows if you try to use it for anything else. The space savings advantage is lost when you consider that you will probably want a flashlight for walking to the bathroom and/or a lantern for the campsite anyway.

Would I buy it again? Nope, I'd buy the O2Cool. It works if you just don't have the room for the O2. If you live somewhere where it doesn't get too hot it may be all you need. It is better than nothing even someplace hot. But, these days, there are better options.

______

Edit:

Now that I also own 2 O2Cool fans (a 10" and a 6") I have a few comments about my O2Cool recommendations v. this fan.

Effectiveness: The O2Cool fans are more effectivethe 6" is a little more effective for a little more than half the price of the Texsport, the 10" is a lot more effective for a little less than double the price.

Battery life: While they don't live up to the billing, the O2Cool fans do seem to last longer on a set of batteries.

Durability: I haven't had them long enough to have issues, but the 02Cool fans definitely feel a LOT cheaper. The Texsport seems like it would handle a lot of abuse and keep on working. The 02Cool fans not only seem like they will die with the first good bump, but I doubt they'll last more than a year or so even with normal use. Definitely something to consider for a fan that one may intend to bring camping.

Bottom line: I'm pretty happy with both, just don't expect more from them than what they are. I'm glad I have the Texsport and the 02Cool fans.

This fan worked well in keeping my head cool and helping with some white noise while I slept. I didn't use the built in light, so I can't attest to that. I tried using it outside while I read a book once, but it was completely ineffectual; this fan is strictly for small spaces in my opinion. My biggest complaint is that I don't really know when the batteries are low. I kept asking myself "Is it blowing less now than it was when I first got into the tent?" Of course, the only way to check is to change the batteries for a set that is known to be good. Such is the curse of analog devices such as this one. The batteries will keep turning that fan until their last gasp of life, even if the fan is only rotating at 1 RPM. The ambiguity about battery life is the only reason I didn't give 5 stars.

will do for the occasional camper or fisher, but not for a dedicated outdoorsman. Rigid plastic blades necessitate a caged housing, mandated safety regs no doubt, but it's likely not needed given that the meager power supply seems to barely push any air at all. The single nose mounted LED is bright, but best suited to covering a small area for detail. The unit's sheer size consumes packing space, but protects well during storage due to the variable positions. The recessed hanging hook is handy, but would mean hanging it too far away from any object or person for an appreciable benefit. There is room inside the housing for a spare button cell to power the LED, but it will drain the two D cells long before that is necessary. In short, I am better served with a folding soft blade four cell unit and separate light source, repairing or replacing when required, rather than an awkwardly larger multi-tasker with nifty but ineffective features. That said, the kids like it very much, and I own two. Enlarge the fans and increase the power and it would be all anyone needs.

Used this fan this past weekend for camping, along with 2 new coleman fans All I can say is I am so happy I had this one with me. The coleman's failed after just one night! This little guy while not blasting the tent with air was perfect for just one person to feel a cool breeze and have a little noise to fall asleep to! I was very happy with this purchase!

The light really is bright, the 100 watt comparison is probably true. The really good news is that the light is perfectly diffused, completely even over the whole panel. Most LED lights I've tried lately are more of a collection of super-bright dots. The light is even enough to be used as a lightbox (for viewing slides and art).

It is much larger than I expected -somehow I was hoping it was about 4-6" square. The outer dimension is 9.5", and the interior light panel is 7.5" square. It is about 2" thick. The white plastic frame is generic enough but definitely not a high-end look. Would be fine for a location where you won't be close to it (e.g. high ceiling or undercounter).

The old recessed light in my closet was a piece of junk, so when I looked for a fixture which might fit into the rectangular hole in my ceiling, I came across this fixture. Wiring it into a box was a challenge because the pig tails from the transformer are quite short. There were no directions for the retaining clips, but my hard time with them was probably because I was unable to be in the attic and below at the same time...two people would make the job much easier. As for the light -accurate to other reviews, this fixture emits an even glow that really looks like the sun has been turned on in my closet; and I can discern subtle color differences even on a gloomy day. I wish there were more fixtures with as nice a glow, maybe a surface mountable unit, pendant, dimmable etc. I smile every time I turn on this light because I know it's using only ten watts, and has a beautiful light. Price cannot be beat.

Maxxima MLN-50 5 LED Night Light With Sensor (Pack of 2) Review

Maxxima MLN-50 5 LED Night Light With Sensor

There's not a lot to say about a couple night lights but these ones are truly different. I have two interior bathrooms without windows or any other ambient light source, and wanted a night light bright enough to walk into either one of these "black holes" without switching on the light. The product description states "the Maxxima MLN-50 is the brightest plug-in night light available," and I'm here to say IT'S TRUE. One bathroom is just feet from my bed, and while there's not enough light to interfere with sleeping, there's plenty to navigate it at 2:00 am without waking my fellow snoozer with a flash of blazing light. Good value, great performance.

MARCH 1, 2012 UPDATE==> Both lights, now nearly two years old, are still going strong, and there's no change whatsoever in the strength of illumination none. I bought two more about a year ago to remedy a couple other dark spots in my house, and they work just as well. It's worth mentioning that several overnight guests who have found their way in the dark from my guest room to the bathroom by virtue of these lights, were so impressed by them that they now have them in their own homes.

This is a comparative review of three Maxxima night lights: the MLN-15 with 2 LEDs, the MLN-51 with 3 LEDs, and the MLN-50 with 5 LEDs. They are all similarly priced, and all have sensors to turn them on automatically when the room darkens.

I was looking for a bright night light to illuminate a hallway for my elderly mother. Online product descriptions did not give me a good sense of how bright the different models were, and existing reviews raised concerns about whether they maintained their initial brightness over time, so I decided to find out for myself.

I purchased two of each, plugged them all in side by side, and compared them by eye. I did not use any kind of measuring instrument, but I did observe carefully. The differences in brightness were not as great as I expected; the 2 LED and 3 LED models, MLN-15 and MLN-51, seemed quite similar in total light output, while the 5 LED model MLN-50 was a bit brighter. The members of each pair were initially identical in brightness. All of them produced enough light to enable someone to safely navigate a darkened hallway. I left one of each pair plugged in, and set the others aside as controls. After three months, I compared them again.

My least favorite was the 2 LED MLN-15. It is the smallest (roughly 2" wide by 3" tall) and its bright white LEDs are enclosed in a frosted ivory enclosure, which gives it a slightly warmer light. There was no detectable difference in light output after three months of use. I did not like this model because of its sensor, which only turned off during the day when the room was brightly lit; it would come on when the sun went behind a cloud, and at night it would stay on even when the overhead light (two 60-watt bulbs) was lit.

I liked the 3 LED MLN-51 somewhat better. It is larger (2.25" wide by 4" tall) and has a similar frosted enclosure for a warmer light. The sensor worked correctly. However, this model's light output was noticeably dimmer after three months of use, when compared to the control unit, although the difference was not large.

My favorite was the 5 LED MLN-50. It is just under 3" square, and has a clear faceted enclosure, so its light is a bit cooler. Again the sensor worked correctly, and with this model there was no detectable difference in brightness after three months. This is the one I will be using in my mother's home.

If you are tired of buying LED nightlights that don't put out any light, the Maxxima MLN-50's are the ones for you. I've bought 4 packs of the Maxxima MLN-50 NightLights so far and my only problem is I'm running out of outlets to put them in! I believe that the Maxxima is significantly brighter than a conventional 5-7 watt nightlight at a fraction of the power consumption. Works great on stairs and hallways or anyplace you want a light at night. The plug is not polarized so you can plug it in upside down if desired and has a built-in sensor to turn it off during the day. Works great for older people (or pets) that are getting a little night blind. I put one next to the dog door and water bowl. The Maxxima sell for about $5 each and the bulb should last for years. Not really that much more expensive than a conventional nightlight whose bulb only lasts about 2,000 hours or 6 months of use.

Honest reviews on Maxxima MLN-50 5 LED Night Light With Sensor (Pack of 2)

We put one of these at the bottom of our staircase and the other on the landing half-way up. Now, the staircase is very well illuminated at night.

The light looks white to me, not blue. The sensors are good enough, but would be better of they turned the lamps off with somewhat less ambient lighting.

Other LED's have grown dimmer over a 2-3 year period, so I don't know how long these will remain bright enough, but if they last five years, that'll be good enough.

UPDATE: bought these Oct. 10, 2010 and wrote the original review a few days later. Today is May 31, 2011, about 8 months later, and these lights are pretty dim. They probably are on 8-14 hours a day, depending on the season and other artificial lighting. Like other LED's, they became much less bright fairly quickly. I suspect we will have to replace them within a year of original purchase, and am thinking of going back to ante-diluvean 4-watt incandescent night lights. They also last about a year, but only cost $1 and stay bright until they fail.

FINAL UPDATE: October 27, 2011, one year after purchase. The lights now are too dim to be useful, so we are switching back to 4-watt incandescents. Pity.

This is the best night light I have ever found! I use it in the hallway and one of the baths, but I would not recommend it for a bedroom because it is pretty bright. The led's remain cool to the touch and they emit plenty of light to help you navigate dark hallways etc. I have no reliability data, since this is a new purchase.

I have purchased a total of 14 sets of these lights and they seemed to work wonderfully. As they are waterproof we had no hesitation in installing them outside and installed them on the side of our camper under an awning. We noticed last weekend there had been a color shift on the light string and unplugged them. Last night we were going to replace them and when we were taking them down we discovered that they had actually gotten so hot they had BURNED through the fiberglass siding on the camper and could very very easily have burned the camper down with us inside. I have since removed all of these lights from our property and contacted the seller. I have pictures of the burned camper wall as well as of the lights but do not see a way to add them to the review.

I purchased two of these kits to install as lighting under my travel trailer (32'). I had the more basic remote kit I bought from efay awhile back for lighting in a boat engine compartment and was impressed. So I bought two to stretch right down the middle of the camper under the frame rails. I ran both in series off of one controller that I water proofed with epoxy and mounted on the front of the trailer frame. Sensor pokes out of a small hole and works well. I can tell that the lights get a bit dimmer towards the back of the camper, so I am definitely pushing the limits of running two strands on one RGB controller, but I am not real good at following product use rules! I do find it hard to believe that the backing is really 3M as it is not real good. It was more of an adhesive to hold it in place until I could go back with zip ties and some clear shoo goo to secure it in place. For less than $45 it is fantastic and gives the bottom a nice glow at night, not over powering.

While it is a cheap set of lights, I gave it 5 stars based on value for the price. Buy basically the same thing from an RV show and you will spend 3 to 8 times as much. Make sure your power supply you use can push at least 800 milliamps (10 watts) at 12 volts. Otherwise the strand will light up on one color only and it seems like the controller or remote is bad. No on/off, color changing, just a constant on that was blue for mine. Hooked up to better power source and they worked just fine.

No power supply with this set, but it doesn't say it has one either. That is why I ordered it, I was installing on a vehicle that uses a 12 volt battery. No negative for not including something that they say isn't included.....

Happy happy happy am I!

After using the blue and red colors primarily for about a week the blue leds burnt out. I am somewhat disappointed but I only spent ~$16 so not a big loss. The other colors still work but I only require blue and red light so this product is now useless in its current application. I don't know if the problem was caused by the IR controller or the led strip itself but I do know that I did not use a power supply that would have overloaded the system. Hope this helps other customers.

I am using these to replace fluorescents in an aquarium hood. They were easy to place and to power. They are using great pressure sensitive mounting tape. They should last forever. My twins love this light as their night light. It is pretty bright and the colors are pretty and change smoothly. It is not a lava lamp, just designed to have that sort of bubble look to it. The bubbles do not move at all. Love the on/off switch.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

These are two awesome night lights! They are shaped like lava lamps and have some weight to them. There are a few pros and cons with this lava light to be aware of; but overall they are a great novelty night light.

DESIGN

The LED Lava night light is shaped like a Lava Lamp. Instead of a light sensor it goes for the traditional on/off switch. This is a good thing as it seems those sensor based night lights never work as intended. The bulb is a single high intensity LED located inside the lava tub. The bubbles inside do not move, and unlike a normal lava lamp these night lights do not get hot even after 10+ hrs of use.

LED Light

The LED cycles through 8 colors following a set pattern. The light emitted during this pattern is actually pretty bright except for Red** (See below). The LED itself will probably last you around 5 years before it begins to dim/fail if all goes smooth.

OVERALL

The light itself is an awesome novelty item. The cycling colors and design make it look like a mini lava-lamp, and it produces a nice bright light. The problem is that the light is also bright and with the rotating spectrum of colors it could end up being more distracting than good. **When RED shows up, the room will dip to nearly pitch black before returning to being softly lit; when combined with the rotating colors this can be distracting to sleep with.

As a night light to "Sleep" with, this might be a bit much. As a night light to use to light a hallway or bathroom this is 95% perfect. The rotating colors and novelty will liven up the room or hallway. That 5% I left off... just don't be walking down the hall when it switches to Red. A really nice pair of "novelty" night lights... but in the end they are not exactly practical

Best Deals for Maxxima MLN-32C LED Color Changing Night Light (Pack of 2)

My daughters loved these lights from the moment we plugged them in. They had been begging for a "rainbow night light that changes colors" for a while, so when I found these, I was really excited.

First off, when they're working, these lights are really cool. The red does make the room go dark for a bit, and we had to convince the girls not to get scared while it transitioned to the other colors but that wasn't a big deal.. over all they help keep the room light enough to ward off whatever monsters or scary things the girls were imagining but dark enough not to disrupt their sleep.

For a few days they were awesome, but then one night one didn't work. When plugged in it would light up faintly and then go dark. If there is a way to fix the issue, it's not easy to find. The other light still works, but now the girls fight over which side of the room gets the rainbow light and which gets the "normal boring" one. I may buy another set and hope for the best, or just find something that will be built a bit better.

Pros:

Pretty and bright (except for the red)

On/off switch

Doesn't get too hot like other night lights

Cons:

Red light makes the room get really dark. Not useful if relying on the light to get around in the dark, but okay for ambient light to keep away "monsters"

Not well-built (or I just happened to get a bad batch)

This was what I was looking for for my new bathroom. An energy efficient LED nightlight with the lamp shielded so you are not blinded by the source. I decided to paint it to work with the bath color scheme. It was easy with spray paint as the daylight sensor is part of the main unit and not attached to the coverplate so it is easy to mask with tape. I would highly recommend.

First, let me say that this flashlight is meant to be a `thrower'...i.e. for long range illumination. Because of its very bright center spot, this flashlight is a bit `overkill' for simple jobs around the house (such as changing a fuse, checking the inside of a dark cabinet, etc.). It does, however, have pretty decent `spill' as well (i.e. the area around the center spot), for general area illumination. But if you ARE looking for a `thrower', this flashlight (being reviewed) is a good `in-between' choice. I say `in-between' because I'm going to compare it to 2 other `thrower' units I own. One is a small, but very bright `pocketable-sized' flashlight that gets it's power from two CR123A lithium ion batteries. At about 75-100 yards, that `small/pocketable' lithium ion driven flashlight provides about 80% of the illumination of the flashlight being reviewed on this page. Considering that the `small/pocketable' flashlight is only 20% of the size of the flashlight being reviewed, the slightly less illumination of the `pocketable' flashlight is a small trade-off for it being so small. On the other hand, CR123A batteries can cost about $5 (each) or more, and with the high intensity out-put of that small flashlight, (resulting in a high rate of discharge for the batteries), those $10 worth of lithium ion batteries would only last about an hour in that small flashlight. On the other side of the coin, I have a medium sized, hand-held, 4 C Cell alkaline (non-rechargeable) spotlight that, at 75-100 yards, puts out about 20% more illumination than the flashlight being reviewed (and both units cost about the same). But that 4 C Cell spotlight is (easily), 8 times the size of the flashlight being reviewed here. So, for such a large device, with 4 C Cells, the illumination of that spotlight is not so spectacular. However, the spotlight's main advantage (along with the slightly higher light output), is that the 4 C Cells are rated at 30 hours in duration. That doesn't mean, of course, that you'd get full brightness for all 30 of those hours. From my experience with alkaline battery units, the full brightness lasts for about 33% of the advertised duration. The remainder of the time, the light continues to diminish. (But you'll have to test that for yourself with any flashlight/spotlight unit.) Now for the `in-between' choice as compared to both of the units that I described above: It's the flashlight being reviewed here. It's got a decently long `throw' (as I described above), and a decent light duration (rated by the manufacturer at 3 hours I believe...but again, don't expect the full brightness to last for the 3 hours). And, unlike the small/pocketable flashlight that quickly uses-up expensive CR123A lithium ion batteries, the flashlight being reviewed uses three AA alkalines...which are cheap by any standard. And it's, also, `in-between' again because the flashlight being reviewed has almost 80% of the light capacity at 75-100 yards as compared to the 4 C Cell spotlight, but at 1/8th the size of the 4 C Cell spotlight. My only complaint with the flashlight being reviewed here is that the threads for the battery compartment are a little hard to correctly position in order to thread the end-cap on it correctly...a minor point. And, with most such units today that use a plastic 'carrier' to position and insert the baterries correctly into the unit, it feels as if one small 'slip' (while inserting a battery into the 'carrier'), could break-off a spring that holds each battery in-place in the carrier. But it gnerally is a ruggedly-built flashlight with a side-clicker switch (which I prefer.) And, it's best use would be for camping in the desert. Unlike forest camping with a bunch of tree is your field of view, you have vast open spaces in the desert. That's where this flashlight would come in most handy. So, `all-in-all' it's a good `in-between' choice.

I have a LOT of high performance LED flashlights. Many different Fenix models, which I love, and a couple of Terralux and others. This one is somewhat different and I like it a lot.

PROs: Very Bright tight beam with excellent throw, Uses AA batteries, Relatively inexpensive.

CONs: Relatively big and heavy, about 1/3 the size of a 3D Maglite, High beam on/off only

Know for sure that it is an OUTDOOR light. Actually the size may be a pro, it will be hard to lose.

This is a great choice for someone who wants a very powerful and bright light, but with a low price tag. The construction is very solid and has a heavy, solid feel to it. The strike bezel is a nice feature. I have not used it for very long, so I cannot comment on battery life, but using new Duracells the light is blinding to look directly at and has lasted a while now. The beam is very concentrated and can reach out easily to 100 yards.

Honest reviews on LEDwholesalers 3 Watt Cree LED 3 AA Tactical Flashlight 180 Lumen

I ordered one of these flashlights over a year ago. My dad was so impressed with it, I bought him one. His light and my light worked great. Amazingly tight and white beam. Stunned at how great this light worked. I bought another for a friend for Christmas. The day I received the light, I opened it up and noticed the lense was really scracthed up and it was on the inside, so not really easy to clean. Once I put the batteries in, I pushed the on button, and the button stayed depressed. I had to unscrew the end cap to get the button to come back out. Light repeatedly did this so I sent it back. Props to Amazon for great customer service. The next light I received did the same thing. I was done messing with it, so I was able to place a small piece of folded up paper inside the flashlight on the opposite side as the button. Worked great when I did that. Even though the flashlight had amazing throw and brightness, the cons definately outweighed the pros. Also, none of the flashlights came with the holder that was pictured in the description. Hard to be satisified with this product.

I ride home after a college class 2 nights a week, and this flashlight makes a great bicycle headlight. I have it mounted on the handlebars and it really gets the attention of drivers on the road. It is slightly lacking in the side-spill department, but I actually prefer a good beam over the side spill.

LEDs have come a long way, and now they finally have throw like an incandescent if not better. Well, this one is better than an incandescent light. It will literally light up a street sign 1-2 blocks away. I'm still on my first set of 3 AA batteries and after about 2-3 hours of total use, the batteries are still going strong.

There is no brand name to this light whatsoever and I can't even tell what country it's made in. Sometimes when you first turn on the light, it has a very slight flickering for about 30-60 seconds. It's barely noticeable though, and maybe the light just has a voltage regulator in it?

Overall, this is an awesome bright light (unlike the LEDs of 5-8 years ago) and makes a great bicycle headlight, if you can figure out a way to mount it to the handlebars.

Maybe in the not to distant future will be ordering another one for back up. Can't imagine working on our desk without that light. So glad you had exactly what we were looking for. You made our day. Keep up the great work guys.

This is a fantastic light for anyone. This headlamp gives me the choice of intense light for detailed work or less light and a very high burn time(80 hours!) for hiking a trail or sitting around the fire.

I use mine mostly for fishing. The intense light from the Xenon bulb is great for tying nots or rigging the rod in the dark. The three led's work best when I am launching and loading the boat.

I also like the fact that this light has a Unconditional lifetime guarantee!

Perfect, Bright, Light Weight, Waterproof. An excellent all round camping light that is light enough to take on the longest night walks. Pelican products are proven this light is just another perfect example.

I have had this headlamp for over 4 years now. While honestly I rarely use it outside it has seen a lot of use indoors in tight spaces, working in computer cases, etc. I am very familiar with Pelican equipment cases so I knew anything carrying their name was well worth the extra cost.

Honest reviews on Pelican 2620-030-110 HeadsUp Lite Head Lamp

It is Pelican, which means well-built and well-designed. It is compact enough to fit very nicely in my pack and gives out plenty of light. You get what you pay for.

Ample light. No directions on how the rubber strap fits into the light. The strap is wider than the slot and folding it over hasn't worked. Not sure why there is no direction on using the rubber strap.

My father bought me this XTAR BK10 with bike handle attachment and spare battery because he was worried my bike light wasn't bright enough. Although I think my bicycle light with 10 LED's was fine, the BK10 generally blows it out of the water. 450 lumens is really an order of magnitude brighter than most bike lights with LEDs. Now when I ride, although I aim the light down, plenty of people give me a look when they see how bright it is. It's really like having a car lightit can actually illuminate the road in front of you in the dark.

This torch also comes with a hand strap with an adjustable plastic slider which can tighten it around your wrist so you can let go of the torch, but the torch will not slip from your wrist. I'd like to be able to give a report about night hiking, but I haven't taken it with me yet. I happened to go ona night hike recently with a tiny 1LED torch, so I'm pretty sure this will be more than adequate.

The issues I have with the torch are:

short battery life. 3 hours at max? Sure, it's bright, but it's not long. that's just 3-5 bicycle rides for me, before recharging is needed.

It's not ideal for a bicycle light. The aim of a bicycle light is to both shine light forwards (hopefully providing a bit of road illumination at night), and for others to see you. Many LED bicycle lights are made with transparent plastic, so the light can be seen at 90-360 degrees away from straight on. For example, my previous front torch was completely black, but had two clear plastic slots on the left and right sides which shined light from the torchpeople from the front and the side could see the flashing light. But with the BK10, there are no side slots, it's solid metalno transparent plastic, and the front torch rim extends 3mm in front of the glass coverso the light can only be seen front on. Of course, no one front on will be able to miss you ;)

I hope this review is of some help. I haven't dropped it, or left it at the bottom of the ocean so can't tell you about how rugged or waterproof it is...yet!

Cheers!

If name brand means nothing to you and you just want a good bright flashlight. Here it is! May not really be 1K lumens. More like 600-700 Lumens. Again back to the $10 price. Where else are you going to find a rechargeable (already had the batteries) flashlight for $10. Works just as well as the $200 Stinger & I will not cry when it gets lost. Even if you purchase the batteries & charger. Another $10 for 2 batteries & the charger. So it is just $20 & you have a spare battery. 2 hours of run time (1 hr for each battery). It is a steal! Get one before they raise the price.

Compact, yet produces a great amount of light. The light spread is pretty wide, which is great when walking the dog at night. The easy push button on/off on the bottom makes for quick engagement of the light when needed.

Several weeks ago my vehicle was ransacked in my own driveway during the night. They got everything from jumper cables to in-dash CD player. One of the first things I did the next day was to get on the internet to find a motion sensor security light. The only light I could find that didn't require hardwire installation by an electrician was the Cooper MS100PG. After checking out it's specs, I ordered it. When it arrived a week later I installed it on the front of my garageeasily slipping the power cord between the wood siding above the door and screwing the light to the center post above the garage door springs. I did need it to go further than the 8' cord provided , so I found a grounded extension cord the same size and gauge of wire to get to the power outlet inside the garage. After running the wire across and down to the outlet, I wrapped the connection to the extension cord in electrical tape. I followed directions as to setting and placement and from that evening on I've had a dependable light that goes on every time something comes within range. I highly recommend The Cooper MS 100PGit was exactly what i was looking for

Very easy to install, could use a gap in case you would like to sink the cord. The controls for timing and lighting are terrible--it seems like one end MAY (MAY!) have a small arrow--but one can not be sure so it is a crap shoot when you try to set the timings. The "directions" are useless. Once you get done the guessing games it is a great product, just expect to spend a few more hours setting and testing out different settings than you expect to. We set up three units with three different settings to get the same result, by the way. Now I love them though i did photograph each setting for future reference :)

just bought in april 2012, a little trouble figuring out how to get it going... but i will tell you how..set both switches all the way to left ..{test mode}..then switch right switch to moon setting for the night setting.. then adjust timer..left switch.. for how long you want it to stay on and you r all set..all the way to the left is the test mode and will stay on all the time until you switch it to the moon setting after testing.. picks up motion to 40 feet as advertised ..

I did a lot of internet searching before I found this portable motion sensing floodlight. It mounted easily and works fantastic. Very bright and functional.

I bought this product because our neighborhood had been robbed of Xmas decorations and I didn't have the time to have lights hard wired. I have a camera system and infrared night vision is not the best resolution so this seemed like the right idea to protect our decorations. I bought two and opened them and the directions were very clear...use a small screwdriver to rotate the light control, the one that activates the light at dusk, and the time control, the amount of time you want the light to be on when it is triggered, up to 12 minutes. You plug in the light for the first time with the two control knobs set all the way to the left, and the light stays on when you plug it in for about 2 minutes and then goes off, THEN you set the control for the time the light stays on and the time of day that you want it go be on, as far as how dark you want it to be, I.E. before dusk or after it gets dark. It even has an adjustable sensor pod that you can point for situations like a tree that has branches that move when there is wind and might trigger the light, so you can point it a little down to not monitor that area. You can also bypass the automatic system by unplugging the light and waiting 2 seconds and then plugging it back in, then it stays on all the time after it gets dark, for whatever reason you might want to do that.

I have had these working now for the last two days and they have been great, the distance is phenomenal, it is about 50 feet from where it is mounted to the sidewalk and it turns on when anyone walks by on the sidewalk, so in that regard you can't ask for more of a range. I put the lights on a separate timer so right when the Xmas lights go off it turns these lights on, and it has made a big difference in the detail my cameras can pick up.

Again, please know that directions are to be read and they are not wrong or useless, like some directions that I have used that are not worth the paper, or whatever material they used to print them on.
