the light puts out good light. it's LED which I've been trying to switch all the lights in my house to. I bought about 5 more of these lights and they all work well. they use more direct light downwards as opposed to a radiant light outward as a normal bulb would work. If you want more coverage you will need more lights.

We have purchased 9 of these to be able to have replacement parts for the 6 that are fully functional. Company will NOT allow part replacement and we needed six operational in yard. Lights that are now functional are great. We now have enough parts to fabricate two more lights and will place them after we make new bases cast in cement. Batteries must be replaced every year as the cold weather quickly depletes their power. These lights give off a soft parklike glow and compliment our 1/2 acre backyard. My only complaint is that NO PARTS ARE AVAILABLE AND COMPANY WILL NOT HELP WITH TRYING TO REPLACE THEM!

I bought this as a Christmas present for my parents and was quite disappointed once it was put together. The overall size is good, however, the lanterns bend in towards the pole and that makes it look odd. Would be much better if they went straight up and down. Also, the solar lights are an unpleasanat white/bluish color at night. The planter part kind of flimsy, but the concept is pretty cool. We filled the bottom with rocks and added some nice flowers. The flowers are the best part, not the light fixture itself.

The illumination is absolutely brilliant and I would recommend this for highlighting any showcase piece the stars and stripes would look fantastic with this bulb angled at it from two sides; for general lighting, though looks brilliant, I'll get by with the less pricey LED lamps for the ceiling fixtures. I would usually only consider indoor applications but I had a need for an MR16 bulb to go into a sealed solid brass outdoor 12VAC bullet landscaped light. And this turned out to be just what I was looking for.

Pros:

Wonderful light output. Very bright. Up lit 60 ft tall oak tree canopy very well. This was for the 36 degree version. I imagine the 25 degree version would up light the bark/trunk very well.

Great color rendition. The 95 CRI is true. This is a pretty light. No blues or overly warm yellows here.

Energy efficient.

Well built. Hand feel is of quality. Weighty and solid feeling.

Cons:

Does get very warm. Too hot to handle. But As long as it is dissipating the heat it should last its rated 25K hours.

A 5 star light review. Hope this helps if your considering this light. Just remember that LEDs still produce heat. Not as much as incandescents but enough to be to hot to touch.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program It's tiring replacing my dimable MR16 halogen lighting. Don't get me wrong, I like them...But, they've never lasted nearly the rated life and boy do they run hot! LED lighting promises to be the next thing and here we have a bulb that easily retrofits into an existing system. So, with that in mind I set out to see if this still pricey bulb would even look and work right.

I am happy to say this is an excellent solution to the halogen problem, at least early on. Yes, the light is a warm color and it is surely as bright if not brighter than a like rated halogen. It does go right in and work with my existing system which I wondered if transformers based on another technology would do no problem. The heat difference is definite. I'm guessing it is not solely due, however, to the LED source, but very much related to the combination of that with the excellent heat-sink surrounding the light. The heat-sink actually looks so much niced than the old halogen bulb it updates the look of my fixtures. The dimable warm bright light, the cooler operating temperature, and the well engineered look add up to a fantastic bulb. Now the only thing that might stand in the way of a large number "all-at-once" retrofit, like my lighting system is the price and the very much related life-span. While I can't at this early time speak as to the stated extremely long life I do realize if it is fairly accurate I will be saving quite a bit in replacement costs alone, not to mention also lowering power consumption cost. That said I plan to order a few at a time as needed until I'm wholly LED equipped.

This is an excellent product. It is still expensive even as Amazon offers an excellent price. I will give it a heary 4-stars based on my initial experience and the still quite expensive cost. As prices promise to continue to drop with economies of scale LED lighting holds great promise in general as does this item in particular.

The bulb on our vacuum had been dead for some time. Rather than track down a Sears and cough up some $5+, we decided to take a chance on this bulb. It fits perfectly and comes out at half the price even with shipping! For the curious, we are using it for Kenmore replacement bulb 20-5240.

Although the bulb fit, it burned out within a week of use. Might have been a bad bulb or might just not be designed for the vibrations of brush.

I bought this light to use for seeing in places that need a little extra light. It is easy to use but the lights are not bright. I chose this one because I thought that the number of LED bulbs would be sufficient, but they are very dull.

Bought this for no particular reason other than needed a hang-able light for when working on the car. This one pretty well does the job with a couple of minor caveats.

The worst is, like most of the similar lights, this one is pretty directional. It would be preferable for the light to be diffused more than it is. It is pretty frustrating to have a panoramic view of the upper dash when you're working on the lower edge of the dash.

And since the light IS so directional, it would also be nice if there were some type of magnetic strip to hang the light facing downward. The hook is kinda pointless unless you're working on something in front of the beam. Hanging the light under the hood serves only to fry your eyeballs or to illuminate everything in the engine compartment EXCEPT whatever you're trying to work on.

Otherwise, the light is very bright. It charges pretty quickly and lasts a long time. My first long use of the light was for replacing the heater core in my S10. The job took just under 10 hours (Not bad for someone who was still recovering from a broken tib/fib) and the light was on 90% of the time. I was surprised that it never dimmed or acted up at all.

Haven't used it much since other than for quick trips outside but it always works and stays bright. Absolutely worth the price.

I started buying these to light underground sewers for photography. I like this 6" version much more than the 12" version. The battery life on the 6" is longer than the 12" while in dark spaces they seem to put out above the same amount of light.

The portability is great. I'm thinking about buying many more. One complaint is the on/off switch though. It's too sensitive and would turn on in my backpack while hiking. I have to put the batteries in while in the sewer instead of at home.

I was very pleased with the overall look of this lamp. Something I wasn't aware of is the fact that it has a photocell, so it automatically comes on at dusk. Very nice! The only problem was that the bulb that was included, was completely shattered. And naturally, it's a special type of bulb.....not your regular fluorescent. This bulb has two contacts which are inserted into the lamp, as opposed to the screw-in type. Minus that problem, it was exactly what I was looking for.

Overall, I'm happy with this light. It is very easy to install and comes with nearly fool-proof instructions. The sensor works perfectly, so I don't have to leave my porch light on all day while I'm at work. The only problem is that the bulb IS NOT the screw-in type CFL bulb. It has a special base and will require one certain type of bulb. Watch out for that.

The first one I received lasted 3 months, then stopped turning on when the photo sensor failed.

The warranty replacement from Westinghouse failed in the same way in 2 months. I'm now trying to get another replacement from the manufacturer. So far, unsuccessful.

In summary, good design, good price, unacceptable build quality and not even remotely worth the hassle.

This fixture looks fantastic and is very well built. However, the photocell does not work as well as I would like. It tends to want to stay on all the time unless it is in direct sunlight and I installed it on a covered porch. I've tried to remedy this a couple of ways but have resorted back to turning the switch off in the morning and back on again at night.

If you are considering buying this fixture, please note that the lamp does not use the standard screw in base. And although replacement lamps are available, they are not the easiest item to find.

Beautiful fixture, just doesn't work as well as I had hoped.

I gave this a good review initially because it was working correctly, but after 11 days, this light started flashing in broad daylight and then stopped working altogether. I replaced the "bulb," and it worked again, but tonight the replacement bulb stopped working. So, two bulbs, which were supposed to last for as long as 9 years, have broken in about 6 months, and these bulbs are expensive ($7). I can't help but think that some flaw in the fixture must have damaged them. I doubt that it is my wiring, because I never had trouble with bulb life with the previous fixture that was hooked-up with the very same switch and wires. Further, the photocell works, but the light comes on way too early and stays on way too late. This may be because of the position of the light, which is located under an overhang. However, on overcast, rainy days, the light sometimes flashes repeatedly. I think it is a feedback loop it is dark enough outside to make the light come on, but when the light comes on, the sensor makes the light go off, which makes it dark, and so the cycle goes. I suspect this rapid (maybe 2 seconds per each completed dark and flash) on and off cycle may be what damaged those expensive bulbs. I will put black electrical tape over the sensor tomorrow to prevent the sensor from doing that ever again. Further, the product information and installation instructions are not entirely correct. Here is one incorrect impression from the Amazon product description that I identified: the bulb is included, but it is not a screw-in bulb. This is appropriate, because the fixture does not have a socket at all, it has 2 holes to accommodate the 2 pins in the GU 24 bulb. This also means that, although Amazon indicates that a pack of screw-in bulbs is "frequently bought together" with this light, they will not work in it.

The reason that I haven't sent this hunk of junk back, is that I don't want another one like it, and even if I did, I wouldn't want to be without a porch light while waiting for the replacement to be sent. If this bulb breaks, I will go to a local store and buy a new fixture that has a screw-in socket and no photocell. Too bad, I really liked the idea of a light that "knows" when it should be on and off.

Review of Under Cabinet 21 LED Light Set - 3 Panel Deluxe Kit, Cool White

Purchased 6 of these (2 sets) for under our cabinets. I hung 4 under one set of cabinets and 2 under the other. The installation is very, very simple and, given their low profile nature, are easily hidden. I was concerned about hiding the cords (since there is a LOT of cord with these), but I easily wound them and bound them in one of their ample wire clips which are also very, very easily installed.

The lights themselves produce a LOT of light. We first purchased the bright white, but found them to be much to brite, very fluorescent in appearance. But, this gives me the chance to boast of their service. I emailed them a request to exchange the lights and, within minutes, had a response indicating that they would. In fact, they did and added no new cost to me for doing so. Very grateful for their kindness. We exchanged them for the "warm" light variety which is much better, closer to halogen light color, but not quite as warm (still a faint fluorescence to the light). As to brightness, it is ample task lighting. Would suggest one 8 inch strip for every 24-ish inches of cabinet.

Again, installation was a breeze. Literally peel and stick them to the undersides of the cabinets. The "stickers" appear to be very strong, but they come with some screws if you would prefer to mount them that way. I'm leaving them without screw mountings for now, but don't expect to need to add them. Also comes with a very nice switch that, again, is concealed entirely underneath the cabinets.

Good, bright lights, easy install, great customer service, reasonable price (for LED's) = a great purchase.

This is a great lighting kit. It is easy to install. The lights are a clean white. The kit should include more inter-connect cable lengths (like 4-inch cables). The cables included are too long for some installations. The provider does offer additional cables and parts at reasonable cost, but they must be ordered directly from the manufacturer. Recommended.

Why spend your hard earned money to have someone do this professionally? This kit includes everything you need to give yourself and loved ones better task lighting in kitchen (or other rooms!).

The LED lights are affixed to a thin strip-easy to mount using the included adhesive strips and/or screws. Compared to some puck lighting I perused before, it's much more discreet! The power supply, wiring, brackets, and switch were also included. It took me all of 30 minutes to completely transform my kitchen, and I'm not even handy!

The light is cool and bright, and it gives you much better visibility for what ever task you have before you.

And the best part: it's a modular system! I definitely plan on expanding my lights throughout the whole kitchen! Or elsewhere-I can't tell you how many things I want to light up now!

Took me a while to find these lights and, although originally a bit skeptical, they have proven me wrong. As the title of this review reads, it was a fantastic addition to my kitchen.

I installed two sets of these lights back in November 2011 and have not looked back since. My kitchen countertop/cabinets run approx 16ft, covering the sink. One light kit was not enough; two did the trick.

Install is a breeze whether you decide to plug in into an outlet or hardwire directly (additional purchase). If you can connect extension cords, then this is the same concept and that easy. Best of all, with only 1" of undercabinet space to hide the lights, the small/slim profile of these was perfect for what I wanted and needed.

Highly recommended!

These lights are fantastic. I hardwired outlets underneath my cabinets and ran romex through the walls to daisy chain them together. These lights take very little energy to use and LED lasts a long time. I installed 9 of these bad boys, 6 of them I used under my cabinets and 3 of them I put inside a cabinet with decorative glass. I used one of the included swithes to separately control the lights inside the cabinet. You cant beat the price, I looked around at other LED lights and they were way more expensive, probably because of their fixture. These ligths are pretty basic, but really, why do you need a fancy light fixture if you cant see it anyway, if they are consealed, this is the way to go.

I purchased these under cabinet light fixtures in several sizes; 2, 3 & 4 light configurations. They look great and when they work, put out good lighting. However, they have gone through almost a complete set of light bulbs at almost $5 each. They are connect by hard wiring with a switch and dimmer. They burn out bulbs both at random and by complete fixture. Very hard to change bulbs and being careful not to touch the bulb with bare fingers.

In the spring of 2006 I renovated my kitchen. I chose Kichler 10581 series for my under cabinet/over counter top lights. I have eight of them, five large (roughly 30 inches), three small (roughly 12 inches). In the last two years I have had to replace four lights, three large, one small. My most recent replacement failed after less than 6 months use. Not one light bulb was bad. My contractor, who recommended Kichler and advised me to contact Kichler. He told me the problem has to be the transformers.

I am really unhappy. I emailed Kicher to ask for an explanation for this abysmal performance. No one responded
