We've also tried a few T-8 LED Bulbs in our quest to be green and by green meaning saving some money. After trying a few other bulbs from Amazon, we decided these were the best and would be our go to bulb. Of all the bulbs they have the best light quality and color. Honestly with the cover over the fixture I could not tell the difference compared to the other T-8's that were still Fluorescent. As our older bulbs burn out, we are replacing with these.

We've tried a few different LED T-8 Bulbs for our property. None of them equal the light quality of the Philips bulbs. Sure the others are cheaper, but so is their light quality. With Philips you know you are getting something good. We are gradually replacing our T-8 Fluorescent with these as they burn out. Once we change them all, we should save about $220 a month in electric costs. They are easy to install. Simply remove the ballast which is great because it is one less thing that can break.

These truly are great bulbs to replace old style florescent style with balast. Rewiring is not for the faint of heart, but if you search for Philips EnduraLED T8 you can find the wiring instructions online. Although the bulbs were wrapped very carefully around the middle with bubble wrap and a stiff container, the ends are not protected enough and I had a broken pin on each bulb. This could easily happen by dropping the shipping tube on the end. Not wanting to go through the hassle of return, I used some solder to stiffen the pin so I could use the bulb. I did remove one star for that.

These lights are great. I purchased about 10 of them and placed them just out of sight throughout my house. I can now walk through my house in the middle of the night with just enough light to see. The motion sensor can be set to: Night, Day, or CONT. I use rechargeable batteries and they last about a month and a half with daily usage. Very easy and useful product.

This is my favorite nightlight. It gives off just the right amount of soft light without being too bright. I have tried other nightlights, but most are just too bright. I also like the fact that I can plug them in and forget about them no having to turn them on and off manually. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find them in any store (except the first time I bought one which was a very long time ago), so I always order them online whenever I need extra ones. I would definitely recommend this nightlight.

For the price it's OK, but I would not characterize it as "super bright," even when all 18 LEDs are switched on. It's bright enough to see your way around in the dark, but needs supplementation for intense detail work in dark corners, like plumbing under the sink or starting small screws when working under a vehicle. The head strap is good and secure, but the up/down adjustment of the light leaves something to be desired in that it's detented. I.e., the light adjusts up and down in discrete clicks, and where you really need it to point is often between clicks. Another minor irritant: you need a small screwdriver to dig out the batteries when replacing them.

This is a great little product. I live at 8000 feet so often I have to venture forth at night to gather wood or something. Wearing this little light is much preferred to sucking on a maglite. You can also scare relatives when you switch on the red led and pretend to be a radioactive zombie.

The light has 3 or 4 settings. I bought one for my son and I and sitting around the campfire at night we didnt need to light up the lantern because this provided us with plenty of light for whatever we were doing. It is probable a little bulkier than some of the more expensive models, but I didn't notice any problems with the weight of it on my head.

Bottom line, it works great and is brighter than I expected and I wouldn't pay more money for one of the more expensive brands.

Easy 5 stars.

Honest reviews on Lighting EVER Super Bright LED Headlamp, 18 White LED and 2 Red

I have had similar headlamps but not as versatile as this one. During the recent hurricane when the lights were out for several days, I was able to get by with a similar headlamp. I worked on building a model, read books and was able to carry-on pretty much as well as with normal lighting.

But this unit is superior to the one that served well during the storm. It is brighter and offers two different degrees of brightness. In addition it has an interesting featrure of allowing the choice of showing a blinking red "emergency" light.

I would recommend this to hobbyists needing more light on the workpiece, people needing light while working in the dark, and particularly for emergency kits to employ (the device) during black-outs and similar events.

Probably not bright enough to do an open chest triple value bypass but will do for allowing your hands free for small work like hanging a picture in a dim hallway or organizing junk in a closet or drilling a hole in the correct spot at night....dont ask me why one would want to do that but one can with this if one wishes.

*Revised Review 8/24/12*

I have now bought two of these lights. I was very happy with the first one for about 2 months until it began to flicker. And I do not mean slight flickering. I mean I can use it as a strobe light. I thought maybe there just happened to be some kind of problem with the one I bought, so I purchased another one. While these lights are cheap and I wasn't expecting much, my main problem is with the companies that sell them and here's why:

First Light: Put off good light as in the picture but light was not the one pictured. Had one light instead of two. Stopped working properly after 2 months.

Second Light: Had two lights as pictured but puts off a low blue light(not as pictured) even with both lights running. Battery cover keeps trying to pop off. Can just see book/kindle page but strains eyes and gives me a headache after 10-20 minutes.

Overall, the lights are cheap as well as cheaply made. What bothers me the most is the lack of consistency in the product and whether they are using stock photos. To me, I feel that these companies are misleading consumers by falsely advertising their product.

I recommend that you pay a few more bucks and get a better reading light. There are some highly rated lights for around $7-8. That will be my next move.

*Original Review*

I have had this light for a few weeks now and am satisfied with it so far. It puts off a localized light so it does not light up the whole room and wake anyone lying in bed next to you unless you point it directly at them. Just the right amount of light to see your book and works great with the Kindle as well. It is also nice to be able to easily adjust its position. The light takes three AAA batteries which are easy to find and affordable. I have not found it to be heavy like some of the other reading lights I have heard people complain about. Of course it adds a little additional weight but I have not found it to be a problem.

My only complaint is that the light I received is not the one in the picture. The picture shows a reading light with two lights but the one I received only has one. Otherwise it looks the same as the one in the picture. As long as it works well, which it does so far, I guess I can not complain since the price was so good compared to the competitors. Overall, an affordable good little reading light.

I keep two in each car and two on each floor of the house--initially the latter was just in case the electricity went off, but we find them useful for many other things, like reading in bed (my hubby's bedside lamp is too bright), finding cat toys under the couch and bed, reading on my cross trainer when my husband is sleeping in the same room, etc. For night travels in the car they are fantastic!!!

Like low cost and light weight. Use for reading Kindle at night -helps not to disturb bed partner. One negative feature is the fact that it uses harder-to-obtain type battery.

Review of Silver Grey Waterproof CREEQ5 Led Camping Lantern Flashlight Torch

Silver Grey Waterproof CREEQ5 Led Camping Lantern Flashlight Torch Lamp 180 Lumens 3-Mode
Customer Ratings: 4 stars

Pretty compact, a little heavy as this thing is metal and not plastic like a lot of them. Good amount of light, really good actually for a AA unit. Put in a 14500 and you start getting closer 180 lumens, certainly 100 + lumens It has a focus mode for the flashlight. If you focus in on a tight beam, it will light up a person from 100 yards. When you focus out, the beam just becomes somewhat irregularly shaped as the beam gets wider. Doubt run time is as long as some. (Lot of light 1 AA battery) Not perfect but for 9 bucks..........

The lantern portion is pretty good and bright. Better than a lot of them. You don`t get too much "spillage" of light (through the flashlight portion) in the lantern mode but some. It will light up a dark room pretty well. Would definitely light up a tent no problem. The "low" mode is pretty bright the "high" mode is darn bright even just without a 14500 battery. Really all you need for most purposes is a regular AA battery. Switch is glow in the dark, a nice little touch. If weight is a problem if backpacking, you can get lighter models but this thing feels pretty solid and will most likely last.

Compared to the Stansport Rubber L.E.D. Flash and Stretch Light (about 8 bucks) which I also reviewed this thing is much better in just about every aspect (except much heavier)

Compared to the Eureka! Glide 51 Lantern/Flashlight (about 23 bucks) and I also reviewed, not too much comparison. The Eureka! Glide 51 Lantern/Flashlight is superior in pretty much most aspects (lighter, brighter, better flashlight and area light tighter tolerances on construction and almost no light "spillage")The advantage could go to the 9 buck unit in one respect, it can use the 14500 and is then brighter than the Eureka 51 by a noticeable difference.

If I had to take one of them into the woods or just use in either mode, flashlight or area light, overall it would be the Eureka, if weight and/ or cost was the issue I would chose this one.

##############################################################################

Overall a great unit, wouldn`t pay 20 + bucks for it, but then again you don`t have to

I have done a lot of camping and boating and was looking for a camping-style light for use in the boat cabin without drawing on the boat batteries. I also collect and review tactical higher-end LED flashlights and this handy-looking little light came up in one of my searches. I was skeptical as to its quality because of the low price, but decided to try one anyway.

ProsHandy size, easy to pack or carry. Uses one AA battery which are readily available. I use Sanyo eneloop rechargeable batteries in all my lights that take their AA and AAA sizes. Has an adjustable focus and a glow in the dark switch in the tail cap. Able to "tail stand" on a table for use as a candle, especially important with its slide-up lantern feature. Works in both flashlight and lantern mode.

Cons Needs a dimmer setting for lantern mode for close quarters. This would extend battery life when a brighter light is not needed, such as setting it on a table in front of you while you read or just chat. Also, on its first use, a rubber o-ring broke and fell out in pieces. This o-ring provides a little bit of tension around the glass lantern mantle, so it doesn't slide shut without pressing on the top. Now that the o-ring is broken, with no way to take it apart and replace it, it falls open by itself and starts to slide shut instead of staying open.

Conclusion I probably will not order a replacement and at this price won't bother fussing with a return. Nice idea, and with a little better build quality could make a handy little flashlight/lantern combo.

Pros: Bright flashlight; brighter with the 14500 battery

High, low and strobe functions (unless you just like on and off), but low can conserve power if needed

Cheap, $9.95/with prime shipping

Nice finish

Glow in the dark on/off button

Lantern function, main reason I bought this flashlight

Cons: For me; none

High, low and strobe might be for some

Short battery life, spare batteries will help, preferably rechargeable

For the price of this flashlight; I cannot complain.

Honest reviews on Silver Grey Waterproof CREEQ5 Led Camping Lantern Flashlight Torch

This little flashlight was everything I was looking for; it took 1 AA battery, it was 180 lumen, it was waterproof, it expanded for use as a lantern, it was not plastic.

However another user has documented the issue with floating and cracked disk. Because it moves, it ends up scratching the lens of the lantern. The gasket also rolled out when extending the lantern (I doubt it is still waterproof).

It burned brightly (and got very warm) for a short period of time but dimmed quickly. I tried it with two different rechargeable batteries with the same result. I am glad I had other flashlights on hand during a recent power outage. This one burned through batteries too fast to be able to rely on it.

It could have been perfect.

I initially found this item on Target's web site but after shopping around, I found them here for almost half the price. The lights are great, no cheap plastic parts and they really make my landscaping look complete. They seem to be put together quite well so I have no real qualms about their quality there casing is almost all metal with only some plastic for the lens but the stake is all metal. I have had the lights setup now for two nights and they all work perfectly and I really like the white light they give off.

These are nice little lights. The don;t have much light to them, and you'll definitely want to replace the stock batteries with some that have better legs per charge for sure. But they are nicely put together and charge up quickly. Oh, they have the traditional "blue white" color to their light. Not a warm white or a white light, but bluish to be surish.

I could no longer find soft pink light bulbs at my local stores and was happy to see they are available on-line. I am pleased with this purchase the light emmitted is soft and warm and it is nice to see on the packaging: made in the USA! Hopefully these bulbs will continue to be made although I understand that the new "energy efficient" bulbs with mercury are taking over..... I strongly prefer pink lights in most of the fixtures in my home. I've read that pink is the healthiest color of light for our eyes and bodies. Whether or not that is actually true, the pink lights are soft and comfortable. They make my home cozy. Pink bulbs are so difficult to find though that I really appreciate them being offered online! I'm comparing the Feit Electric Br30 Flood Dimmable 13w/65w LED Light Bulb 750 Lumens 120° Degree (017801435016) and Philips 420554 13-Watt BR30 LED Indoor Flood Light Bulb, Dimmable (82283402 = 9290002197 = 420554) from HD and used 65W GE Miser BR30 that came with my 12-year old house remodel. Also would like to try the GE 65388 and Phillips 420562 (14BR40/END/F90) and Philips DimTone 13BR30/END/F90 if they didn't cost twice as much. I used a Nikon D4 digital camera, WhiBal color reference card, Lightroom 4.3, and a Sekonic L-358 light meter.

Light color & output @ full dimmer brightness:

GE Miser 65W: 2600 Kelvin, 6.4EV @ 1 meter distance

Philips 13W: 2550 K, 5.9EV

Feit 13W: 2700 K, 5.6EV

Light color & output @ dimmer dialed about ½ way:

GE Miser 65W: 2250 Kelvin, 4.2EV @ 1 meter distance

Philips 13W: 2500 K, 4.1EV

Feit 13W: 2700 K, 4.1EV

Angle:

The deal with this is that centerline light output measurement does not give you a real idea of the total light output... the angle on the Philips is the most narrow, next is the GE Miser and the widest is the Feit. The Feit is wide to the point where it illuminates the sides of the fixture can.

Size:

These all match size to each other within a millimeter or two.

Sound:

The Feit makes a small hum when dimmed down below halfway. I don't detect any sound from the Philips. One of my numerous tungsten bulbs also makes a small hum when dimmed low, but the rest are quiet.

Asthetics:

The old 65W has the best asthetics.... Maybe because it's what we are all used to, but maybe the red color at low light is desirable. It also has a good angle of fill such that it doesn't illuminate the recessed can but distributes light across the bulb front well. Although the color of the Philips is a tad nicer than the Feit, the Philips also projects light from a more synthetic front disk surface. None have any annoying hot-spot glare. The Philips has a teeny power-on delay and the Feit power-on delay is a little bit longer but still maybe ½-second. As others have noted, the LED bulbs dim low but not ultra-low like the tungsten.

Conclusion:

The hum of the Feit is probably a deal killer. I'll probably go with the Philips 13W BR30 420554.

I have purchased several different brands of LED to replace my 65W incandescent floods which are inside of recessed cans. These are the best I have tried so far overall.

They are very good color for LEDs and the dimming quality is good. They are not quite as warm as incandescent bulbs, but at 2700K it is better than the bulbs that list 3000K and say "warm". Most listed as 3000K are "cool" white in my opinion.

These lights are also a bit brighter than the traditional bulbs I replaced and will not dim as low (nor dim as low as other brands of LED I have tried). Consider how often you have your lights on the LOWEST dimmer setting and if the answer is not often, then these will be fine. If you don't dim your lights to less than 25% often ... you will have no problems.

They are not nearly as heavy as some of the brands and make me think they are less likely to warp or damage the inside of the cans over 10+ year life.

Lastly, these have the traditional long neck of the flood lights. Some available, particularly the Lightkiwi brand, are the short neck version and not suitable for most recessed lighting I have encountered.

Best Deals for Philips 420554 13-Watt BR30 LED Indoor Flood Light Bulb, Dimmable

To the eye, these units have an extremely good color balance. I bought a total of 11 of these after comparing a sample to a number of other brands. These are the only units that have an acceptable color spectrum, to my eye. Other brands have such a strong green spike or are too blue-white that they become distracting.

LEDs will not, of course, work as photographic lighting where precise color balance is required because of the discontinuous spectrum that is characteristic of all quantum devices (just the laws of physics). These Philips units dim down to a relatively low level for LEDs but not, of course, anywhere near the dimness levels that are possible with tungsten lamps. The color temperature does not shift towards the red as the units are dimmed, as they would do if they were tungsten. These limitations are characteristic of all LED lamps and are unavoidable.

Phillips has perfected the packaging of this unit in a way that does away with the finned (ribbed) chassis that every other manufacturer seems to need. If this design is less capable of dissipating heat, because of the lack of fins, and the LED emitters run hotter than other brands, this will reduce the life of the units compared to other manufacturers' products.

I have accumulated 2,640 hours on one of these lamps -mounted in a ceiling can-type fixture -and it is still running at the same brightness level as when it was new, as actually measured with a cine style photometer. It also dims just as well as when it was new.

Honest reviews on Philips 420554 13-Watt BR30 LED Indoor Flood Light Bulb, Dimmable

I don't think LED-based lighting can ever match the warmth of incandescent bulbs 100%, but these excellent bulbs may come as close as possible. I tried a single G7 bulb first, it look garish and awful, so then I went with Philips, again bought one to test, and have bought over a dozen since. They seem to be the only company getting this stuff right, at the moment.

We decided to us solar landscape lighting in our back yard and low voltage in our front yard. In our back yard there is now a dozen solar lights including three different models purchased on Amzon and one purchased at Wal-mart. If you are buying solar you need to have realistic expectations. Low end solar lights are powered by one AAA battery. I have yet to find any higher end solar lights packing more power than three AA batteries. Attaching three double A batteries to a half watt or 1 watt LED bulb will never compare with Low Voltage lights that have at least ten times more electrical power and generate 10 to 30 limes more light. As such the only fair comparison in my book is to compare one solar device to another.

The Nature Power Solar Floodlight is one of the better solar lights we have purchased. It is powered by 2 double AA batteries. For $10.00 at Big Box Store, we bought several Lights that had only a single AAA battery, where almost all of the housing was plastic and the reflector behind the bulb is just shiny foil. The Nature Power gives several upgrades for the price. This unit is almost entirely metal. It feel solid. It weights easily double what the plastic thing from Wal-Mart weights. The build quality and whether resistance is better. Two double AA batteries and 16 LEDs kick out more light than the Wal-Mart unit. The light color on this unit is a little warmer ( more yellow – less blue) but is not as powerful as the High Output Solar Spot Light – White Light ( By Yardbird) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007XG8HGI/ref=oh_details_o06_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The high output, is a $40.00+ solar light that powered by three batteries instead of the two found in Nature Power. If you are attempting to light a 20 Palm Tree instead of smaller shrub or bush and are not looking for a warm ( yellowish ) light, the High Output is the better choice. For lighting shorter objects and for buyers with a preference for a warmer light, the Nature Power is a solid value and worth the extra money as compared to mostly plastic and much dimmer alternatives found at Home Depot, Lowes or Walmart.

There is some good and bad with this. We'll start with the good. The price is good. The floodlight arrives essentially assembled. You basically just stick it in the ground and adjust the lamp and solar panel as needed. No need for an electrician for installation and its solar, so it doesn't tap into your power bill. Materials seem to be decent quality.

Here are some POSSIBLE cons (depending on your needs and what you expect from a floodlight). We needed a floodlight to add a little illumination to our front yard, the patio in particular. We didn't want to go through the hassle or expense of a "real" floodlight. For those purposes, I would say the light is adequate but not much more than adequate. In order for the solar panel to get an optimal amount of sunlight for charging (and it is the winter right now anyway) I have had to place it a little bit far away from our patio. So the light it provides is just enough for you to see the details of the patio and, more importantly, if someone was standing there since it is semi-covered and when the front porch light is off it can be basically pitch black there. The best analogy I would give is it is a little like moonlight from a full moon. It is still dark, but you can see. Of course, we could move it closer but this time of year and the position of the house, it wouldn't get charged well. That is another point to consider. You will probably have to move this thing around depending on the time of year. Its not that heavy so it is no big deal, but some people may not like that. Of course, it is solar so you know that going in and even in the instruction manual it advises you to put it somewhere it will get plenty of light and the brightness will vary according to the time of year. It does say for effectiveness you should replace batteries once a year. That is expected to, but I thought I would mention it.

If you are on a budget and looking for some cheap lighting for your house or lawn that won't add to your power bill, I think this is an option and I would not discourage anyone from buying one. If you are looking for a powerful floodlight that will be bright and light up your yard or house, than this won't do it. I haven't had it long so if I see any decrease in quality or effectiveness I will update.

The light output is adequate to light a specific object. In my case it's a shed door. Don't expect it to light an entire area. (Remember to let it initially charge for two days before turning the switch from OFF to AUTO).

I bought this product after searching for solar spot light. I recently installed a 20 ft flag pole. I want to.light the flag at night. After reading and searching I came up with the Nature Power 21130. Although a bit pricey i though the 16 led lights would do the job. After charging the battery I turned it on auto and was very disappointed. It lit the first 4-5 feet. The flag is still in the dark. If you are trying to project light any distance at all this is not the product to do the job.

Disappointed.

I bought this to replace a Leviton PR180. The PR180 seemed to work on my 3 fluorescent lights (2 electronic ballasts, 1 magnetic), but then the bulbs started flickering and eventually went out.

The OSSNL went in with new bulbs and the difference was immediately noticeable. It was as if the lights were connected to a standard switch! Not a hint of buzzing. Definitely worth the extra money for this switch.

I was very impressed by the configuration options in this switch, and spent about an hour testing everything and getting it right. It's great!

Lowering my rating on this switch because now it is behaving strangely. The switch is installed in my garage and typically the lights are off when I open the garage door, then they turn on as soon as I step on the garage stairs. Recently I had noticed that the lights were on when I arrived home from work, and were on when I would first open the garage door. The switch was not turning off the lights after the 30 second timeout! I tried the manual on/off, and that would shut the lights off but they would not turn back on when I moved in front of the sensor. Even though nothing had changed with the switch configuration, it began functioning strictly as a manual on/manual off switch. As a final fix attempt I ended up flipping the circuit breaker that the switch was attached to, and now it appears to be working again. We'll see how long that lasts. Very strange and frustrating.

03/10/2010 Followup review:

It seems this switch has now completely stopped functioning as a motion-sensing switch. Despite repeating my previous efforts, I was unable to get the lights to turn off in either auto or manual mode. Perhaps I got a lemon. I've uninstalled the switch and will be sending it to Leviton for a replacement under warranty. Hopefully the next switch does not have these problems.

04/25/2010 Followup review:

Leviton sent me a new swtich approximately 2 weeks ago (so expect a 1-month turnaround if you send in a defective switch). So far it is working properly. I will update this review again later after the new switch has been installed for a longer period of time.

Well it's been two months since I installed the new switch, and it's still working properly. Seems I just got a lemon the first time.

I bought this switch for a coat/storage closet where the lights used to always get left on by the kids.

We had never used a motion switch before, so I ran to the store and just bought the cheapest one there (it was the Leviton model PR180), but it had some serious flaws. The first problem was that it didn't work right with fluorescent lights and the second problem was that it didn't always detect motion to turn on reliably depending on the ambient light level. After a couple of weeks of fiddling around with it, I finally gave in and bought this more expensive model from Amazon.

I'm happy to report that this switch solves both the flaws from the other switch. It works great with compact fluorescent lights and it is also very sensitive to motion which is great in my case. It's also amazing how adjustable this thing is it has settings for just about anything I would ever want to configure. It also looks great compared to the other motion switches I have seen.

Now that I've enumerated all the things I like about this switch, I should point out that I feel it is pretty over-priced compared to other motion switches. On the other hand, I haven't found any other switch that is as functional either. I may consider using them in other locations in the house once the price drops a bit.

I have tried multiple brands of motion detector light switches for sale at Home Depot and Lowe's. However, since I had changed the bulbs in my recessed lights to CFL'S, those switches wouldn't work properly (flickering, burned out bulbs). This switch does work with CFL's! I was worried about the 3-wire (not 3-way) setup of this switch, so I did check in my outlet box and there was a white wire (3 of them not used), 2 black wires (being used by the existing switch), a green ground wire, but no blue wire. I forged ahead and used the 2 black wires one for new black, and the other for new blue and connected the white and green wires. Didn't work! So, I switched the 2 black wires and TA DA! It worked. So, now I know which black wire is going to the load...

The only thing about this switch is that the timeout selection is a bit lacking (for me). You have a choice of 30 secs, 30 min, 1H, or 2H. I timed the 30 min and it went for 40 min, a bit long for my taste, but at least it works! :)

The nightlight feature is great if you plan to use the Manual-On feature rather than the Auto-On. No more people asking where the light switch is!

Time to start figuring out where else I want to install these in my house!

After buying a less expensive Leviton that didn't work well with my fluorescent lights,

it was very satisfying to see this one work flawlessly.

Recommended if you have fluorescent lights.

Using this for a closet light. Set the time delay to the minimum of 30 seconds--recommended for set up adjustments only, but seems to work fine as a permanent setting. The light comes on quickly and goes off 30 seconds after the door is closed. Works with all types of lights (ie fluorescent tubes).

This bulbs claims a color temperature of 3000k which is accurate. The claimed color rendition of 80 is also accurate. Like every LED bulb I've used that has this rating the bulb is deficient in deep reds. Incandescent bulbs produce the reds properly but the color temperature is about 2700 which makes them look very yellow. This bulb 3000K is much better. I will not reduce the rating due to the color rendition because the bulb delivers what it claims and if you want to buy a bulb in this color temperature with a CRI rating of 95 you will pay 5 times this price. In fact, a halogen bulb with this color temperature is more expensive in most cases than this product and would get very hot. This bulb produces no noise and the heat generated is what I was expected meaning it is well designed and will most likely last. This product hasn't been available long enough to evaluate it's longevity but this technology is improving fast so newer is better. The dimming works properly.

Although I will not stock up on these for my own home due to the rapid improvement in lighting technology, I would not hesitate to buy hundreds of these for an installation where the customer wants all of their lights replaced. The packaging is very easy to deal with, no window or plastic which I appreciate. There is simply no point in throwing extra money at packaging and wasting my time unwrapping it. The packaging is ultimately trash on every single light bulb sold. You will throw it away eventually.

This brightness is like a 100 watt bulb, too bight for many fixtures so be careful. If you are using a dimmer then go for it, otherwise consider the 6.5 watt version which works better in many cases.

This thing is bright. If you are not using a dimmer I hope you have a big lampshade.

The problem with this bulb is that it projects light from three sides. If you are using a small lampshade, wall sconce, or smaller glass shade the three LEDs will look separate. With a large lamp shade this is no problem because the overlap of the output corrects the issue over distance away from the bulb. I will not dock a star for this problem because due to the brightness level of this bulb it should be used only with a big lampshade. That is it's intended design application. Just make sure the fixture shade has at least 3-4 inches of clearance minimum.

For most of my applications the single LED 6.5watt and 9.5watt versions are a lot more useful. The lower wattage versions are also a better value.

I had a GE Lighting 68017 11W lightbulb in an overhead enclosure. It worked fine, and in particular it was very compact which was necessary for this enclosure. Larger LED bulbs would almost touch the glass, which produced a point of very intense light at the bottom and left the rest of the glass dome dimly-lit. However, although I liked it, my wife was a bit dissatisfied with the color of the light, saying it was a bit too yellowish. I have a lot of LED bulbs around the house (100% LED lit) of different make and color, and she said she preferred some 3000K G7 Power bulbs I had for their light color.

The problem is those G7 bulbs are huge. I tried putting one in this enclosure before and it had the problem noted above, and the sheer light output of these big bulbs made it very distracting. They work where they are now because they're much higher up on the ceiling and pointed sideways. So I had to find a bulb that was compact, had about equal light output to the GE 68017 (800 lumens) and 3000K color.

And here it is! This bulb has almost the exact same dimensions as the GE, has a whiter 3000K color, and has the same light output (I can't see any difference in intensity). It is also about 1/3 the cost and dimmable, even if I don't use that functionality. For a dimmable bulb, this has to be one of the cheapest and most compact units on the market. It also uses less energy than the GE it replaced. The bulb came well-packaged and appears to be well made.

I'd never heard of SunSun Lighting until now, and did think I was taking a bit of a risk buying from them vs. other very well-established brands like GE, Philips, or even smaller ones that are known like Feit and Tuwago. But if this product is any indication of their general product quality, the big guys should be worried. I currently have all sockets filled with LEDs, but I'm seriously considering replacing some of my lower output bulbs with these. They are very bright and produce a pleasant color on relatively low wattage, and are very inexpensive for LED units.

Honest reviews on SunSun Lighting A19 LED Light Bulb, 9.5W (60W), 800lm Warm White

If these were non-dimmable bulbs, they would be five star (inexpensive, nice light output, 3000K is a great color temperature). I bought these to go in a dimmable fixture. They work fairly well to about 30-40% of full brightness. Below that point they flicker on and off. I tried them with two different dimmers. I also bought the 60W equivalent / 9.5W actual bulbs from Sunsun and they work great for dimming even down to minimum brightness. I bought six of these and they all flicker at the lower level. The 60W equivalent works great in the same fixtures.

If you don't plan on dimming or if you won't be dimming below 50% or so, these are great bulbs.

The bulb is excellent, the only reason I did not give it 5 stars was because it is advertised as 580 lumens, but the bulb is actually 450 lumens. I have used the bulb heavily for over 2 weeks now, the light is great, it appears to be a good 40 watt replacement, and I highly recommend it, even with the mistake in the description. This bulb is an excellent quality bulb, looks great, and is much cheaper than any equivalent at home depot or lowes.
