These products are easy to install (5 minutes per lamp) and produce abundant soft warm light. I replaced every recessed light in my house (over a year ago) and couldn't be happier. Some are on dimmer switches and they work great. Highly recommended!
To those basing their ratings on the Amazon price: The price at big box retailers is different in different states. This is because some states offer instant rebates to promote energy conservation (and some states don't). Don't blast the product because somebody else sells it cheaper. It may be cheaper at your local Home Depot, but not at every Home Depot. Also, the price on Amazon is always changing. On LED products, the price is usually going down, but your low rating lives forever, so rate the product itself (not the price) and let others decide if it's worth whatever it's currently selling for on Amazon.
The Amazon fulfillment vendor (E Plus Discount) substituted the Ecosmart with the Home Depot wording on the box. Nowhere in their description on Amazon does it mention that this is not the actual Cree CR6 product and every description states it is the Cree CR6. There are listings on Amazon that are clearly marked "Ecosmart powered by Cree." The Home Depot variety could have been bought by me for less than I paid for what I thought was the Cree.
I consider this deceptive by E Plus Discount; they are misrepresenting the product they are selling so that they can charge a higher price. I would avoid purchasing anything from this vendor
1/2/2012 Follow Up: Others are reporting that this lamp is now available from Home Depot at $24.99. This must vary per state, because at my local Home Depot it currently sells for $39.99.

I purchased a house where the prior owner had an infatuation with 6-inch high hats. They are sort of ugly and I had intended to replace all of them when I found these lights. I bought them at a 30% discount at Home Depot as a new model has been introduced. A new high hat housing is $15 plus. Add in the cost of one of those new "dimmable CFL bulbs" bulbs that really don't dim at all, and you are well over $20 without consideration for the time consumption of replacing the high hats. The light produced by this product is brighter than the previously existing 75 watt bulbs. In my hallway I replaced five 75 watt bulbs with five of these 10.5 watt LED's and I have more light than ever. The product leaves a clean looking glass lens instead of the typical view up inside a high hat housing. Because it seals, it also eliminates the cold air that would occasionaly blow through the housing. The bottom line is that, once you accept the idea of spending this much money for a light bulb, you get your money's worth and then some. This doesn't even consider the reduced electrical usage. After this installation, I went back and bought ten more. Now I am considering buying another twelve and it will take care of all of my high hats. Cree manufactures the CR6. There is another product sold under the brand name of Ecosmart which is powered by Cree. In other words, the lamp guts are the same, but the rest is not. The Ecosmart brand is manufactured for distribution and sale by Home Depot whereas, the Cree CR6 is available at numerous commercial outlets. I've replaced several recessed cans in my home with these and they look great ... nice, warm, dimmable light and brighter than my old 45W incandescent cans. But $72 is a rip-off ... they are available at Home Depot for $49 (they are labeled "Eco-Smart" but the bulbs and instructions are labeled CR6 so they're definitely the same lamps). So instead of paying $72 for one, buy two for $98 and double your energy savings ... and as a bonus you will be encouraging your local Home Depot to stock more energy-efficient products. I finally got fed up with the 9 high hats in my kitchen. These are all dimable and I decided to trash the incandelscent lights. I bought one of these CR6's and it was a snap to install to modify an all ready existing light. However, check to make sure it is a six inch can. I tried to do it with a five inch IC can in my bedroom and it was just too tight in terms of length, I could get it into the can but the total length was about a half inch short and I had to remove the inner can and trim of the IC light. But for a standard 6 inch can, it fit like a breeze. Just remove the trim, take the bracket holding the socket out and then screw the cr6 to the socket and pull out the 3 metal fins and push into place. And turn the light on. Dims to low levels as well as to full power. Was not sure that the light output would be good enough because I was replacing a 90 watt halogen and this is rated as equivalent to 65 watt incandescent. Ordered 3 more and then replaced all 4 lights on the same dimmer circuit. Worked like a charm with the lutron dimmer I already had installed from 6 years ago or so. When I used only these 4 lights, it provided excellent light and I liked the color of the light better than incandescent. Worked fully dimmed and provided a very low level of illumination. At the level of where it acted like a night light, not enough to do much in, but enough so you did not bump into things and could tell if there was something on the counters. So now I have ordered 5 more to replace the 5 remaining lights. However, here is the rub. I did not buy them from Amazon, but because I live in NJ, I was able to purchase them from another vendor who sells them for about the same price as Amazon, but because NJ provides for a subsidized price from the vendor for NJ residents, I paid about 35% of the retail price. Considering I reduced the total wattage from 810 watts (9 times 90 watt bulbs) to less than 95 watt (9 times 10.5 watts per CR6), it was an easy choice when the total cost including shipping was about $235. If I had to pay the full price of approxmately $600, I am not sure I would have done it now, but probably would have just switched to dimmable CFL or waited until prices with LED had come down. But for NJ residents, google and find the vendor's site for NJ residents and go for it. You get a price a terrific Cree CR6 LED downlight for a little more than a dimmable CFL bulb. However, be warn that the cost of the Cree LR6's are much higher than the CR6 and I am not sure why, but discounted they sell for almost three times as much as the CR6.
