Good looking, well made, but did expect the leads to be a little longer. I can deal with this. I thought that they said the leads were 6 inches long but they are only 4 inches long. Mybe my bad.

Hi got these in a couple of days from the supplier and they are really good quality. My original pot lights, had a flimsy spring loaded catch in the socket, that some times jambed and you could not remove the bulb when it burnt out. With these, I was able to replace the original socket and reinstall the fixture. They are a much better quality than the original in the pot light.

Very good quality GU10 bases. Ceramic with sufficiently beefy wires. Not much to say negatively. They work and they work well. Mine shipped direct from Hong Kong so there was a few extra days wait.

I ordered one through a Groupon, from another site but I believe this is the same and I'm getting others. I have salt rock candle holders and lights around my home, but I wanted something for the office too. The lights are beautiful and it still has a natural looking shape. I just hope it lasts for a while. I imagine you can unscrew the bottom and replace the bulb when it burns out, or I may use it over a flameless candle at that point.

I've bought 5 models of the Energizer Hard Case Professional LED flashlights. This is the loser of the lot. For this series, Energizer has obviously given a lot of thought to mechanical design, for the most part well-executed. The optical performance, however, ranges from poor to excellent. This 2-AA unit unfortunately is in the poor category.

(a) Price. This series is not widely distributed, and there does not appear to be much price competition. At one time, HD carried a selection of models at decent prices. But in my area at least, they've stopped carrying them. Amazon merchant prices are currently $24+ total. I got one for $16 elsewhere.

(b) Materials: Tough ABS plastic body and tough rubber bumper guards, including a bumper extending in front of the lens. Rubber O-ring seal on battery compartment. Rubber covered switch.

(c) Mechanical. Excellent ergonomic design. Bulky for the 2-AA size, but lightweight due to the materials. Contoured grip conforms naturally to the hand. Switch is on top, right under the thumb. Rectangular cross-section and textured rubber keeps it from rolling off a table or bench and going ker-plop (major gripe about Maglites). This is a very important consideration if you are working on a ladder and place the light on a rung or shelf. Butt has a molded loop to which you can attach a lanyard. Comes with a sturdy nylon belt holster.

(d) Battery Installation. Easy. Unscrew tailcap and pop in 2 AA batteries. As mentioned above, battery compartment has O-ring seal. Threads are robust and smooth acting.

(e) Switch. As mentioned above, rubber sealed and well-positioned. Positive click on/off. I like this much better than turning the head (classic Maglite 2-AA design) or tail. I also don't care for tailcap switches, so this is great for me. But if you prefer twist-and-turn switches or police-style tailcap switches, you won't be happy. Push down and release for continuous on. Once on, you can depress part way for momentary off (can signal this way if you wish). I like momentary on designs better (depress part way to turn on for a quick peek and release to turn off, or push down all the way and release to turn on continuously); but these are rare, except on the larger Maglite units (C or D cell).

(f) Beam. This is where the unit flops. It has three low powered LEDs mounted on a flat reflector with scalloped sides. Thus the beams do not merge; consequently, throw is good to only ~6 ft and the field is diffuse and uneven. Light has a slight cold bluish hue, but not too noticeable. This light is OK for taking a quick peek in closets, under beds, and under desks. But as a task light for extended use (working on engine compartments and in wiring closets, for example), the beam quickly becomes irritating.

Recommendation: In this series, there is a 2-AAA inspection light. It has a single higher-power LED with a longer throw, more uniform pattern, and a more neutral white color. It's also smaller and cheaper. See my separate review on that unit; I gave it 5 stars.

(g) Packaging. This series gets my nomination for "most frustrating", "most wasteful", and "most non-green" packaging. Some PR guy obviously took great pains to give the packaging a super macho look. The light comes strapped to a tough, heavy gauge sheet of plastic. The straps are industrial cable ties. Some people have complained that they've used scissors and broken them; others have complained that they've used a utility knife and gashed themselves. The *proper tool* is a pair of diagonal wire cutters ("dikes"). You need a medium size pair (~6"). If you do electrical work, you will have one. If you don't, try to borrow one. It's not a general purpose tool, and it's silly to buy a pair just to unpack a flashlight.

Batteries are included. Each battery is sealed in a tough plastic compartment, and it's not apparent how to remove it. So users have tried to cut through the compartment with a utility knife. Don't!! Very dangerous. If you look carefully at the back of the package, the back of the compartment has an icon of what appears to be a pair of pliers and the word "CUT". These symbols are hard to see, because they are molded black-on-black. The icon doesn't refer to pliers but to dikes. Again, if you don't do electrical work, you won't recognize it. It's also not apparent what you actually are supposed to cut. Close inspection shows the icon is pointing to a small plastic nub sealing the end of a plastic tab. You first cut off the plastic nub with dikes. Cup one hand over the nub and dikes before you snip. The nub will shoot out and you don't want it to whack you in the eye. Then use a small screwdriver to push the plastic tab through a slot to open the battery compartment and release the battery. Again be careful. The tip of the plastic tab is very sharp after the nub has been cut off. Don't press on it with your finger. Good grief. Although it is possible to cut the cable ties carefully with a utility knife, trying to cut the nubs with a utility knife or razor blade is very dangerous. Straightforward with dikes.

I have carried a Maglite in one form or another for many years. They are great Flashlights! A few points about them that I dislike are:

They roll around.

The metal is cold to the touch.

The 'paint' scraps off from hard use.

Enter the "Hard Case" series from Energizer! Call it plastic, or rubber or some other man-made material, but I like the feel of them in my hand. They don't roll around either!

I have 3 of these, one in my car, one in my wife's car, and one my wife uses every morning to pick out her clothes by! In daily use, it has never failed her, and after almost a year, she is now on her second set of batteries.

I have big hands, and she has very small hands, yet we both like the size and shape of this flashlight. It is slightly more bulky than a 2AA Maglite, but not by much.

I like the switch being on the 'top'. A high-quality switch is critical for a great flashlight, and this is as good as Maglite quality.

You might as well buy at least 2, as you will like it so much, you'll just end up re-ordering more...

My husband ordered several of these to have on hand whenever he walks at night. They are lightweight, bright, and sturdy so he would give them 5 stars. They are not large or heavy, making them easier for me to use with my arthritic hands. The on and off button is not too easy or too difficult for me, another plus. I did purchase a slightly bigger flashlight with a broader, brighter light to keep in my car. I think the bottom line is the purpose of the light for the buyer. For my husband's use, this flashlight was the perfect choice and a good overall choice for my use.

I got this for my son, he is afraid of the dark and sleeps on a bunk bed. He uses it to see around the house at night when he needs to go to the restroom. The rubber cover is great since he has a habit of dropping it. Its not a loud drop and it survives the drop off a top bunk. I recommend this product as a household flashlight.

I'm in Haiti, I've been here for 3 months and I've got another 2 months to go. I use the light every night as I'm sleeping in a tent while doing relief work.

The light works great I like the switchable lantern-to-flashlight and I've discovered that if I turn the light part of the way I can direct the lantern light in one direction for reading but still keep the light out of my eyes. The amount of light is great very bright and if you use a plastic grocery bag as a shroud it's great to light the tent for general soft lighting.

The problem with the unit is that the threads on the bottom are too fine/dainty. With the heavy use comes heavy traffic into the battery compartment. The threads are failing. Each time I r/r the batteries I wonder if I will get the bottom screwed back on of it this will be the time it fails completely leaving me with a useless and expensive paperweight in a place where paperweights are completely useless.

It's extremely bright for a compact lantern, and when flipping-over the (cree?) emitter to turn it into a flashlight, you get the widest (as well as extremely bright) 'flood area' I've ever seen in a 'flashlight'. The only drawback (and it's minor), is that it's a little 'wide' to be held comfortably as a flashlight for any length of time. That's due to the diameter needed to house 4 AA batteries. But for shorter durations, its fine. Also, unlike its earlier version that did not allow you to 'flip' the emitter (you unscrewed the top to make it into a flashlight), it's light has a few dark spots (when used as a lanten), because it has a support structure that marginally interferes with the light's uniformity in the lantern mode. But for this price (they were selling for twice as much when they first came out), this is a super, multi-functional device. [Follow-up: I wanted to check the drain on the batteries by the flashing LED. And after 4 months, using a digital voltmeter that applied a load, the batteries...never having been used to light the lantern...only the LED...dropped from 1.57 volts to 1.51 volts during that 4 month test. So, you can decide if it's a problem keeping batteries in the unit...based on the above drop in voltage during the 4 month storage test. BTW I did keep an unused comparison battery as a 'control', which by itself, dropped from 1.57 to 1.56 over the same period.]

First, this lantern also has a smaller brother (http://www.amazon.com/Small-Package-Bright-Camping-Lantern/dp/B002C5BXGQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1300380204&sr=8-1) that is also great, albeit with a lower lumens rating (110). I have both, and think they're both awesome.

This one has a whiter, and much brighter light than the 110 lumens model. The 110 model is also very bright, but with a light more like an incandescent bulb. This one takes 4AA batteries, the 110 takes 3AA. I use the Eneloop brand NiMH batteries and they last for months of regular use on a single charge. I've never tried standard alkaline batts, so I can't comment on their life.

I love how both these lanterns have a loop on the top that allow suspension in tents, cars, etc. The 185 also has a rotating lens that allows it to be used as a nice directional flashlight. Both these models have metal bodies, and seem very well built. They also have a little green LED light that flashes every 5 seconds perfect for finding the unit in the middle of the night.

These lights are both money very well spent. I think I can finally stop looking for the perfect camp lights.

Honest reviews on CREE 40450 185 Lumens Multi-functional LED Lantern and Torch

This is a great light. Very bright and versatile but there is one flaw and one Lie. The FLAW is the bottom battery compartment cover. It is very fussy to get starter correctly. Be very careful to get it started correctly or you will cross thread it. Mine even when started correctly, will go about two turns then it comes to a catch that have to force it past then it closes all the way. The LIE is the 25 hour battery life. The REAL BATTERY LIFE 5 to 7 hours. I have done many tests using Daracells, EverReadys, and 2700 mah Powerex batteries. The light begins to dim significantly after 5 hours with the Duracells and EverReadys and after 7 hours with the Powerex batteries. I ask others to do some tests and post the results here. If you are going into the back country you will need a new set of batteries for every 5 to 7 Hrs of use.

I had to review this little lantern because of how really excellent I first thought it was.

I had bought my first one ( I bought a couple more, sadly enough )

and that first lantern seemed like a really good product. I gave it a rave review, which I have now decided to delete completely.

Here are some of the reasons why. At first opening up the plastic packaging it feels very well built. I had a little trouble closing it up after putting in 4 very highly rated Maha 2400mAh rechargeable batteries. I see a lot of reviewers mention that the bottom is very difficult to screw on without cross threading it. Ha!

It is rather easy to learn how to screw that bottom on perfectly each time. This lantern burns through any and all of the batteries i have tried, in under 12 hours and that is on its on its lowest setting! Now you all know why I got so good at doing that threading perfectly each time. Through a major amount of practice!

Warning!! Do not buy this lantern! It Will Not Burn Anything But Every Battery You Own!! THEY ARE LYING ABOUT ITS BURN RATE!!!

I have a varied small collection of smaller sized lanterns for when I am camping. So I am pretty savvy when it comes to rechargeable high capacity batteries, refresh and recharge cycles, etc. and as a test I have used the highest rated capacity batteries available. I failed. this Lantern...It burned out my 2700mah PowerEx batteries in 12 hours on low. I bought two more of these before I had realized that there is nothing that works any better, so the three of them are all burning through any batteries I have tried. Duracells, Procells, PowerExs Mahas EneloopXXs.

If you buy a Coleman 3AA High-Tech LED Mini Lantern that one lasts an incredible 25 to 35 hours on low on three of these high end batteries that the Cree 185 burns out in 10 maybe 12 hours.

Another good lantern is the Rayovac SP1W3AALN-BA Sportsman 65-Lumens LED Mini Lantern With Batteries. It will last about 2-12 hour nights on low.

But buyers beware this Cree!! How are you going to recharge your batteries when you are in the woods?

But to be fair, after all, it does give off an amazing amount of light. Best light I have seen probably. You cannot look straight at it when it's on because it is so brilliant. And that's on low. It is a spectacular light. But it cannot be called a lantern. It is not usable as a Lantern.

But If you need to have a very brilliant light around when you are out camping that you will use just for an hour here or there, for when you are cooking, or looking for more firewood in the dark, ( I have been there and back. :-) ) then if you have the room for this then throw one in to your pack. But if you take it hiking with you and you think you have a lantern, and you are going to be out for a five day trip or more, you better also throw in your pack hmmm.... About a minimum of 24 to 48 high capacity AA batteries.

My thoughts on this product is that they over designed the light and it just is not useable with AA batteries. Not four. It is just too powerful for their energy design. So stay away from this one and check out the ones I liked the most.

I also bought the warm light Cree, CREE 40426 110 Lumens Bright Light CREE XLamp Warm White Camping LED Lantern

and this one also burns out my batteries quickly. But at least it goes for 16 hours on low and takes only 3 AA's. Lol!!

Anyway, all those other reviews that say it runs for ever or for a very long time, I don't agree with.... I mean I have tried 3 of them. So As another reviewer pointed out, on high you get only 5-7 hours of light! And he's RIGHT.

We recently remodeled our home and in the process replaced all of our outdoor lighting and flood lights with these two and three head Lithonia LED Motion detection and dusk to dawn lights. They are a bit pricey but I feel worth the cost when you consider the typical halogen 100 and 200 watt bulb replacement once or twice a year.

I was a bit sceptical about how bright an LED could be but was pleasantly surprised when I turned on the first one. These babies are very bright with an excellent daylight white color. Each head is about 10 watts. So the two head is a total of 20 watts and the three head is 30 watts. My total wattage will be reduced by magnatudes. It will take awhile for the lights to pay for themselves but not having to replace halogen bulbs is a big plus in and of itself.

I installed 10 of these units with a total of 24 heads totaling 240 watts. They replaced 14 halogen and incandescent lights that totaled 1,400 watts.

Easy to install. Some (round base) have a foam rubber weather seal others (rectangular base) need to have silicone caulk to weather seal.

A truly wonderful product that is well worth the premium price.

This fixture worked well until it suddenly dimmed after two months of use. My electrician determined the problem was an internal defect. OK, things happen, but trying to get the manufacturer to give you any information on how to return the product under warranty is impossible. I found the information on the warranty on the Lithonia LIghting website, but THERE WERE NO INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO RETURN THE PRODUCT. I called Lithonia, but the two people I spoke with acted like they had never been called about a defective product. I was transferred around until i ended up---you guessed it-on someone's voice mailbox.

This review is an indictment of not only my particular fixture, but LITHONIA LIGHTING in general. I would not buy any of their products again. I am out not only the cost of this fixture, but the greater cost of the electrician's installation charge, the trip to determine the cause of the failure, the cost of a new fixture, and the cost to install it.

I bought this product in May, 2012 to light an entryway to my business, and 5 months later, I am very happy with the result. The light is a cool white, not a warm amber color I have seen used by others. The light is bright, but not overwhelming for my area. I had a halogen light, and it was way too bright for my needs, and my neighbors. Also, the halogen light buzzed at night, which was annoying while working inside the building. I like the design of the Lithonia, and each head is adjustable to ensure the light goes where you want it. The photocell works well. I would recommend any potential buyer to review the info on the manufacture's web site.

Honest reviews on Lithonia OFLR 9LC 120 P BZ LED Outdoor Floodlight 3-Light Dusk

Not knowing what to expect I ordered the 9LC 3 Light Dusk to Dawn to replace our two light flood lamp. The flood lamp was eating light bulbs and the motion sensor was not working correctly. I must say WOW WOW. I have had to adjust the lights more towards the ground as it is above a door and was blinding us as we approached the door. The light is clean and bright, daylight is whats its like or brighter even. It appears we could have gone with the 2 header and maybe even less LED's. But love it anyway. The item is well made, compact in size and looks like it will take weather easily, the only thing that I saw was plastic was the dust to dawn eye..which is fine by me. I would highly recommend chalking around the device (as recommended) to keep the water out of the electronics. I also used waterproof screw on wire nuts (found in electrical section of your favorite store) they are blue and really protect the connection. Would recommend to everyone. Would give it 10 stars if I could.

High quality materials with great light qualities I would highly recommend. We live in the country with no source of light for a mile so on a moon less night it is dark. We leave this light on all night and it throws the light about 150 feet in each direction.

I purchased a pair of these to mount as work lights on the front of my tractor cab. I did because of what I read about the brightness and to have a lessor amperage draw. I was amazed on how they lit up the area in front of the tractor. I'm so Impressed with them I ordered another pait to replace the incandescent work light on the rear.

When I received these lights I opened the package with apprehension because I expected them to be a little on the cheap side. Not the case!! These lights are of excellent quality. They have an aluminum housing with heat sink rear, they are painted black. They are heavy and the mounting hardware is all stainless steel, very impressive. The wiring is sealed coming out of the rear housing and is covered in a heavy rubber cord type covering. I wired them up and waited for dark. Turned them on and holy crap they turn night into day!!! I am very impressed with the light quality as well. I have installed many sealed beam type lights over the years and these LED's put them to shame! I will be purchasing more of these lights. I bought two of these, had the same experience with both. They were great for about a month, then the batteries would no longer hold a charge. Had to buy two new rechargeable batteries which I had to order online. Same problem with the new batteries. The flashlight worked briefly, then the batteries would no longer charge. I'm not going to put out any more money on a bad product. That would just be foolish. My suggestion, choose a different flashlight. If you're going to have to replace batteries, just get a good flashlight that will work reliably. Don't rely on this to work for very long. When you need it, you may find yourself stumbling around in the dark.

I have owned this flashlight for several months. I leave it on a table near a window and it receives enough sunlight to always be charged. My hubby was always grabbing it so I finally bought him one too. It fits nicely in the hand and the lights are bright enough for any small job. We've found them so handy that I bought several more for gifts. Everyone that I've given one to has also loved it.

Best Deals for NEBO Soleil Solar Powered Flashlight

At first I was so happy with it and I bought several more to gave to friends and family as gift. However, soon I found out this is a huge mistake. This thing is actually a fake solar powered flash light because it is actually running on battery instead of solar power. when the power of the battery runs out, it will stop working even if you put it directly under the sun. Out of all those flashlight I bought, only one person haven't complained about it stopped working (And I think it's only because she hasn't really used it that much. Guess what, by the time you figure out this thing doesn't really work. It already to late to return it to the store. Whoever invented this product is a 1st class con artist.

Honest reviews on NEBO Soleil Solar Powered Flashlight

Recently received this flashlight as a gift, I own another Nebo battery-powered light that I'm somewhat happy with based on the pricepoint, however.... this light just does not work.

There's a small battery in the rear (like a big CMOS battery) and solar panel on the top.

When I received the light, I thought maybe the accessible battery is for when the internal/inaccessible battery is empty out of solar charge. So I left the light outside in direct sunlight for maybe 4 hours, brought it in, turned it on and nothing.

When I went back outside and kept the switch in the on position, I realize it works when in direct sunlight, but as soon as it's removed from the sunlight it turns off.

Is the battery supposed to be rechargeable? It's not recharging. Not sure what kind of scam this is, it really just makes no sense why would you put a solar panel on a light that contains a non-rechargeable battery?

Save your money for a real light, if you want to go green (if you believe in that sort of thing), buy a good light for $50 and some Eneloops.

BTW Cannot find this item on the Nebo website, probably discontinued as an epic FAIL.

It fits comfortably in your hand or pocket. I dropped mine and gashed it up, but it still works fine.

As a joke I tell people that it's a great flashlight but because it's solar powered, it can only be used during the day in sunlight.

This is a very versatile LED light that has many applications in your home. It features automatic on and off with a motion sensor and it will only come on in the dark when set in that mode. The light has a sensor that uses (PIR) Passive Infrared detection and it can come on when sensing motion and/or heat. You can set the on switch to allow the LEDs to stay on for 30 or 60 seconds. The light uses three AA batteries and it does not come with batteries. It is recommended that you use alkaline batteries. You can also set the light to the off mode and turn it on continuously as an emergency flashlight by pressing the on button.

The light is stylish and attractive and it can easily mount using a mounting plate and screws or an adhesive pad. It is ideal for a light for a dark hallway, stairs, and steps, as a bedroom nightlight, closets, bathrooms, garages, attics and basements. The light comes with the adhesive mounting pad, the plastic mounting disk, two screws and the instruction manual. (Please see my video)

The light installs easily without any wiring or a lot of work. The sensor sees motion in a 180 degree angle (Virtually up and down a hallway) up to 15 to 16.4 feet away. The light is bright enough to be of use and it would be ideal for a children's bedroom for a night light that will come on when they get up. It improves safety and it helps provide a sense of security. The light has a crescent shaped frosted plastic lens that nicely takes the glare off of the LEDs and more evenly spreads the white LED light.

The light weighs 2 3/8 ounces without the batteries and 5 1/8 ounces with the batteries installed. It is 3 ½ inches in diameter and 1 ¼ inches thick. If you use the hanging disk that comes with the light you can easily lift it off of the small mounting nub and use it as an emergency flashlight. The LEDs have an on time lifetime of 10,000 hours and they are energy efficient. One set of batteries can last for 2,400 on and off cycles.

This is fast and easy to install and use and it is priced reasonably. It has a lot of applications and I rate it as a 5 star item.

I was supplied a sample for test and evaluation and I promised to provide a fair and honest review.

The light is brighter than expected, so I'm trying to decide where the placement should be so as not to hit me in the eyes. I'm actually glad it's bright and will work out the placement. Turns on immediately with remote sensing in the staircase.

Best Deals for Hipo By Ivation 6 LED Automatic Motion-sensing Night Light

I bought these for every room to ensure that I find my way to a flashlight during a power outage at night. They are attractive and easy to use. Don't know yet how long the batteries last. I love the way the cats turn them on when I get up at night.

Lights up our stairwell perfectly. It's small, but does the job. Wish it had sticky tape to hang though. Recommend

Do you have a spot in your home, vehicle or anywhere else where you'd like a motion sensitive light, but don't have a handy outlet or wiring in place for it? The Hipe 6 LED Automatic Motion-sensing Night Light could be just what you need.

The Hipe light uses 3 AA batteries (not included) and under normal usage I would expect them to last for at least a few month before needing replacing. I also have the B00CRJSIH4 and it uses 4 AAAs. Where the latter light has more versatility when it comes to mounting and settings, this light SHINES (sorry) with an overall brighter light and front facing controls. A bit larger than a hockey puck, you can either mount it to use as a night light or motion sensitive light, or you can carry it as a flashlight because of the easy access to the simple on/off button.

I also like the fact that the LEDs span about 70% of the rim of this device, giving the user a spot to hold it without blocking any of the light. As the product images above show, there is a motion sensor (not adjustable) at the top, a slider to set the motion detector light duration to either OFF, 30 or 60 seconds, and a power button for immediate response. The sensor is quite sensitive and can detect motion up to 15 feet away. When put in motion detection mode, it only comes on when it is dark.

I'm keeping mine mounted to the wall by the door into my garage. I could use the regular lights, but in the case of a power outage, it is good to have a light source there and also the handy option to detach and use it as a flashlight. I'm considering getting another one for the hall outside my kid's bathroom.

I receive a sample unit from the company for review purposes.

I love this little lamp. My first one came with a bad solar cell but Amazon exchanged it no hassles, no cost to me. I've had the new lamp for several weeks now and I'm totally loving it. It is so cool to just pop the little cell out and set it in a window while I'm at work then when I come home it's all charged and ready for night use. No electric cord to hassle with, it's totally portable. I hope to replace more of my electric and battery items with solar ones. Every little penny saved on my electric bill is worth it.

I like to go out on night hikes here in Southern California and always take this flashlight with me. It has good throw and is made well. Nothing about the build quality is questionable. I recommend this flashlight to anyone looking for a nice compact flashlight.

After an exhaustive search for high quality undercabinet LED lights, we found these.

Extremely high quality, one of the few LED lights that can either be direct wired or plugged in,

and probably the only LED light that is dimmable from a wall swtich. (with the correct dimmer). Each light uses

only 9W of power....We installed 7 of these in our kitchen and in total use only 63W of power..

incredible electric bill savings. Unlike xenon or halogen bulbs, these lights emit no heat and the manufacturer says that have an average life of 50,000 hours....that's 20 years of intermittent use.
