I've had this light installed on the side of my garage for about a year and a half now. It lights both mine & my neighbors walks that lead from the front to the back yard. The only problem I have is that since I have both the lights & the sensor pointed almost straight down to avoid lighting the neighbors deck it sometimes self triggers due to the lights being so close to the sensor. It seems to be worse on cool spring & fall nights. The three 100W bulbs are extremely bright & I'm looking at reducing to 50W bulbs which might help the self triggering also. The sensor detects movement of heat, not a motion detector, so bushes etc. blowing in the wind do not trigger it unless the bush is on fire ...:)

Short story: This light only worked for 5 weeks and now it will not shut off at allday or night. I double checked and it is not on test setting, but the light never shuts off, even in the middle of the day.

Full story: I actually purchased this light at a local big-box store, but I had to write a review after reading others and experiencing the same thing! I purchased a house a couple years ago that is currently 8 years old. The house had a double headed spotlight at the corner where the driveway comes up to the house. The motion sensor to the light became very intermitent and only worked sometimes. I would walk the trash can down the driveway and the light would neveer come on, then I would turn around and return to the house and it would come on. I decided to replace the unit with a new one so I would have a reliable and more consistent working light. I chose & installed the SL-5798 triple head unit. Then I noticed that the light fixture I replaced was a Heath Zenith also. So it had only worked for 7-8 years before becomind defective and only working some of the time. The new unit worked well and I adjusted the angle and sensitivity so it would come on as desired. The light functioned properly for ~5 weeks until I noticed it not shutting off one night. I cycled the light thinking I had flipped the switch on, off and on to turn the light on manually. Even after leaving the light off for 5 min. and turning it back on once, the light stays on constantly. I tried adjusting the lights further from the sensor per the HZ website's suggestion. I tried setting the sensitivyt down, turning it to test and then back to soft on mode... nothing works! The light just stays on. So now I have to turn it on and off manually. I'm having trouble locating my receipt or I would return the light!

I would recommend you DO NOT BUY THIS LIGHT... or any Heath Zenight product. I have owned 2 nowone failed in < 8 years and the other failed in ~5 weeks!

i still have this product installed and it's been working for almost a year now. Here are the pros and cons:

Pros

dual lighting mode dims after a preset amount of time when no motion is detected

pretty bright and covers a wide area

Cons

sensor detects all kinds of motion (it was basically on for hours when we had nights with strong winds , very annoying)

the product consumes 300W of power during full lighting -not very energy efficient

bulb fixture is fixedwill need special order bulbs to replace ( you just can't replace the bulbs with energy efficient flood light cfl)

My biggest gripe is the product consumes too much power, however it's really bright and covers a wide area.

light just constantly on now sucking up lots of power plus one of the bulb is dead I don't think theres replacement for bulb and its really is getting annoying

These lights are horrible. Unfortunately I purchased this after I read a slew of bad reviews about these online, and most of the negative reviews are correct. This model seems to have some sensor problems that the manufacturer has not corrected, so the lights will stay on constantly. We had these installed and the bulbs blew out within three months. Also, for the first month the lights stayed on constantly at night, around the second month they would suddenly turn off in the middle of the night even if we walked under it, it would stay off so I'm not sure if the motion detector was functioning properly. All in all, would not purchase again and will be replacing this one.

You may be apprehensive about purchasing something that you know so little about. Does it work, does it leak, is it loud, ect!! I received this as a b-day present because I was apprehensive about buying it myself. It now lives happily on my desk. I did splash a little water around setting it up but it has never leaked.I used tap water at first and it didn't work very well so make sure you follow the directions and use distilled water. It has 5 different color changing effects Blue,green,pink,yellow,red and one that goes through all the colors. There are 3 jellyfish two small and one large and the jets at the top of the tank make them swim throughout the tank. The motors are very quit and the most you will hear is a quit humming sound. It also turns off after 4 hours which is nice when I forget to turn it off or many nights I go to bed and leave it on. It is very calming and looks really cool and somewhat realistic. It is worth the money and a quality product.the colors in the video are a little misleading and it also looks as though it flickers which is not the case.

I purchased this in August for my 3 year old who LOVES jellyfish. It's super easy to set up; I have yet to add additional water. It's been running nonstop since purchase.

At first the jellyfish got a little tangled, but they had air bubbles. So make sure when you set it up, you submerge them head first, so air bubbles don't form at the top. Since I "fixed" that, they been "swimming" beautifully. The lights are beautiful; deep vivid colors.

Definitely worth the price.

UPDATE:

So it is December 20th, 2011 the motor is making a funky noise. I don't know why. If I reposition the lid, sometimes the noise stops, sometimes it doesn't. It still runs though, the jellyfish are still swimming. For the amount of time it's worked and been on, I don't see this as a huge problem. I still think it's a great buy.

UPDATE: September 16, 2012

The motor is dead. The noise is very loud and it has no water pressure at all. The lights still work though. Considering this thing has literally run 80% of the time since purchase... I can understand it dying. Still a great purchase. I will repurchase because my now, 5 year old, son still loves his jellyfish.

So I repurchased the item for my son. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. No jellyfish were included and it didn't match the size listed. Returning it. I would not purchase from this seller.

This is quite possibly the best desktop toy I've ever had. My coworkers keep mistaking them for real jellyfish.

It took a couple of days for all the air bubbles to settle out, since they would float up and get caught inside the jellyfish bodies, causing them to float instead of swim. After that, though (and with the dish soap added as per the instructions), the motion is surprisingly realistic.

I added some crushed shells and rocks in the bottom, but be careful of adding larger items that the jellyfish will get stuck on or under in the current.

Update: I'd just like to add that I've had the product now for over 2 years, and it's still in great shape. My coworkers still stop at my desk frequently just to watch. It did get a little mold at the top around the pump/lid after the first year or so, but it turned out to be easier to clean than I'd expected. Definitely less mess than real fish!

I bought this for mom for mothers day. We all love the jelly fish. The nice thing is that one can get attached, and they'll never die. Or at least, we hope not. There is an automatic shut off. And the colors are the best, I've ever seen in something like this. Definitely, worth cash. NOTE: You'll need distilled water (1.25 or something at Walmart) and you will want to allow the Jells to get to know the water. It takes an hour or so before they really get swimming.jel

Buyer beware. This lamp is not what is shown or described. It is NOT 15" high x 12" wide. It is aprox 10" high x 7" wide. It comes with 3 fish, NOT 5. I contacted the seller, they said it appeared they had old manufacturer's info on this item and offered me a 15% discount, which is $6. I asked them to match the price for this same item, which is sold by another seller, but they refused. If I had known their item was the small one, I would have simply ordered from the other seller. They said I could send it back at my own expense, and pay a 25% re-stocking fee. I told them, at some point in time, they must have been selling the larger ones, as per the positive reviews, but I guess they decided to switch items, but not prices.

They should not be selling this as a large lamp, when in fact it is a small one. I suggest before you pay so much for this lamp, get it from the other seller, it's the exact same lamp, but much cheaper!

This adapter works fine for converting gu10 outlets, which my landlord saw fit to put randomly in outlets around my apartment. The problem is that the size of the adapter makes the flood lights stick way out from their base and the strain makes them hang weird. They seem like they're not entirely secure.

That's not a fault of this product, it's just the nature of what you're going to get when you join gu10 to e27. Not much to do about it. That may not be a problem in your particular situation, but for me it's a deal breaker. Consider where your light bulb is going to end up sitting when using this adapter.

I've used a halogen worklight for years, but got tired of the heat since I often needed it in small or enclosed spaces. After buying and using this one here is what I've found.

Not having to deal with the extra heat of a halogen bulb while in a small room or enclosed space (ex. under the car) is a HUGE plus. Not having to worry about replacing the bulbs is also nice. On that note, this light does come with a 5 year warranty, but it explicitly excludes the bulbs. Of course LED's will last for many thousands of hours so this should not be an issue (hopefully) plus they are much much less likely to be damaged from shock (ex. dropping the light). Additionally, this light only uses 5 watts of power and will save you a considerable amount of electricity versus halogen bulbs which use several hundred watts. It's also less bulky than many halogen lights since it doesn't need the metal guard on the front that sticks out several inches to protect things from getting burned. Again, this makes it much more handy in small spaces like under the sink or car. Of course, the one obvious downside is this is not nearly as bright as a halogen bulb. It does a good job of flooding and area with a decent amount of pure white light, though, and for those applications where you don't need excessively bright light this will do the job. My only other minor complaint is they put plastic over the on/off switch (I think to help make it water resistant) but it is very loose over the switch and can make it a little difficult to turn it on and off sometimes. Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase.

So to sum it up:

PROS:

1.) No heat.

2.) No changing bulbs since LEDs last almost forever.

3.) Less electricity used.

4.) Less bulky since no metal grill needed for protection.

5.) Nice white light.

CONS:

1.) Not nearly as bright as a halogen light (of course).

2.) Plastic over the on/off switch can make it a little hard to use it.

I purchased this unit based upon the great reviews. However, I tried it and didn't think the light output was adequate. The package it comes in clearly states that it provides 377 lumins--rather than the 440 lumins stated on the Amazon web page. In addition, the projected light is uneven due to the five LEDs, and the center of the projected light is a yellow color. I am returning it.

I bought myself a little home that comes with a large yard, as you can imagine, it's not the city's job to light up my front yard. Most homes use a little light at the door, but I want more, a lot more. When the idea was brought up, my girlfriend thought it was going to be ugly because it's green. But I finally convinced her that it's better to have bright lights than worrying about what it looks like. I used the Kill-a-Watts to find out how much it would cost if I leave it on all night. (less than 50 cents per month using a timer 12 hours a day). After leaving it on for a while, it generates no heat whatsoever. I ended up removing the legs and bolted 4 of these lights outside my home, drill a small hole, cut the wire and put it through the small hole, then rewired it back inside my home with a timer. Now my home looks like a space ship landing in the middle of the farm, nice.....

I used this for an outdoor (night time) display of jewelry at a market and found that it was bright enough for the purpose. I like that it doesn't get hot and uses less electricity than other lights.

Just one note... for some reason it says in the description that it has "1 foot" of cord but it's actually several feet longer than that.

Like many others, I have owned and used those inexpensive halogen work lights. While they will light things up quite well, the heat they generate, and the sensitive light bulbs leave much to be desired. There are fluorescent bulb versions, but they were always pricey and suspect, with their probably proprietary bulbs making long term use suspect in this disposable age. LED lights are clearly the future, and I have started to swap out CF and incandescent bulbs for these wherever possible. As I became tired with replacing the halogen bulb in my sole remaining work light (those bulbs are never to be found when I need them, just like tape measures), the infrequent burns, and worries of fire, I figured why not try a LED work light. The reviews were generally positive, and with Amazon's return policy, seemed like a no brainer. Having used it several times now, a review is in order. The light is bright, although not halogen bright, with a negative being that it must be moved around a little more often than a halogen due to the decreased output. But it does not get hot, which makes picking it up not an issue. While not a hefty chunk of metal, the case seems sturdy enough to last, and the LEDs should last a lifetime in theory. Definitely recommended, even after the price is considered.

I've had the Lumiy 1350 for about 2 weeks now. My comments are as follows.

Design:

In regards to design, my initial reaction was surprise to how small the box I received was. The head and foot of the lamp is flat and its neck is flexible, so it doesn't take up much space in either its box or my desk. The lamp comes split into 3 pieces: head+neck, base, and power cord. Setting it up is very simple and the neck does not seem to have any rotation limitations based on my use.

Features + Performance:

The lamp features touch controls which are cool, but the "buttons" can be hard to see. The only indicator given is on the power switch in the center that features a red light when off. This light disappears when the lamp is turned on. I'm not sure if it's because I received my lamp in black but I initially found myself struggling to find the proper buttons due to lack of sight. This however is a minor issue once memory of button placement kicks in after a day or so.

The brightness is adjustable at 3 levels: low, medium, and high, plus interchangeable between cool and warm lighting. This lamp on its highest setting is extremely bright. With that said, it should be understood that this is a desk lamp that is better used for "focus". This means it is best placed closer to your reading, writing, and/or drawing material. With the right angle tilt of the head, the Lumiy 1350 can illuminate your whole room, but it's clear that is not its purpose. If you are like me and prefer a stationary light for your workspace purposes, this lamp is perfect for you.

Energy:

As expected from an LED lamp, the Lumiy 1350 has many energy saving aspects. It comes with a timer feature that turns the lamp off within an hour and the lamp's power consumption is a low 7 watts. But what I find most impressive about this lamp is its LED life. The lamp's LED life is estimated to be over 40,000 hours! Basically if used for 8 hours a day, the Lumiy 1350 should last over 13.5 years.

In summary, based on the Lumiy 1350's design, performance, and promises in energy efficiency, I can say it is worth my purchase. If you are looking for a bright, adjustable, long-lasting lamp to help your workflow, this product is definitely worth it.

Have had my Lumiy Lightbeam 1350 Desk Light for two weeks. I absolutely love this light. The ability to adjust brightness and color temperature is both unique and welcome. I use this lamp on a hutch above my computer and it casts a wonderful light across the entire desk. I prefer the warm, midrange setting, and it provides a glare free unobtrusive work light for me. I received the eight LED lights. The box shows 1) White 2) Natural White 3) Warm White on the side with check boxes to identify which type of lightning is in the box. The eight I received are marked Natural White. I ordered Warm White. The Natural White is a bit harsh to the eye. Color wise, they have a bit of a blue hue. I'm working on an exchange for Warm White now.

Separately, the product is sold as a flush mount. As designed, the product installs about 1/8 inch away from the ceiling. Here is a pic showing the 1/8 inch gap between the ceiling and light fixture. Some won't care about this visually. I believe most people would want the trim ring to seal against the ceiling with no gap. It would be simple for the manufacturer to modify the trim ring so it seals all the way around the ceiling creating a clean look. As it is, I think it gives the appearance it was installed incorrectly.The design also lacks a back to create an electrical box to isolate wiring as required by building code in the US. Lastly, some instructions and a specification sheet in the box might be helpful.

These are easy to install. I used them in a band rehearsal space where CFL would create noise in the equipment and halogen creates too much heat. Recessed lighting requires a hole in the ceiling, which would defeat all the soundproofing that was just installed. The surface mount LED was a great solution. Spendy for what it is. This light should be about $10-$15. But, if you need them, you need them.

This is a good little product. The headlamp angle can be adjusted, so that it points straight ahead, or down at an angle. The light is bright and the headband is adjustable. It folds up very small and is very lightweight. I have it in my camera bag, but it can fit into a pocket. It opens easily and runs on 3 AAA batteries, which came with the headband. I think it is great for those times when you can't carry a flashlight in your hand and you need just a little quality light on the subject, but it would never replace a professional grade headlamp.

I love my Petzl headlamp! It is both comfortable and provides me with plenty of light. I have used other headlamps that caused me to have headaches from a poor fit i am happy to report that with the Petzl I have been headache free.

My HVAC guy had a head lamp like this one and I knew I needed one too. He said he picked up 5 of them at Home Depot for what I'd paid for this one on Amazon but in spite of the cost, this light has been worth what I paid. It gives me the freedom to work with both hands free in tight, dark places and has saved me both time and frustration. Its bright LED light has also been really helpful in reading the small print in documents and for reading bedtime stories to my daughter in her dimly lit bedroom. She also uses it to read her books in the car when we're driving after dark. For the driver, it is much better than if she used the dome light.

The headlamp a very useful product. I only hope it is as durable as it is useful.

These bike lights seem to be approaching HID headlight performance. This light has enough brightness that I believe I could use it on the high setting to safely ride a motorcycle going up to 40 mph. I ordered this light, but the one I got was branded as Sky Ray S6. After checking with the supplier, I was told that my light is the same as the SecurityIng, but just branded as the Sky Ray S6 instead.

The 1st button push is 33% bright. The 2nd button push makes it 100% brighter than the first. The 3rd button push is 33% brighter than the other two. Then strobe, then off. It has ample brilliance to ride on the first single lamp only if you would rather save battery power.

The one drawback is the black mounting bands. The light has a tendency to slide downwards from the vibrations and bumps. Another thing I didn't like is that there was no documentation that came with the light. (No receipt, warranty card, or instructions) Just plastic wrapped in a SecurityIng box. However the supplier said that this light carries a 1 year warranty.

Is it worth $70? To me...yes.

The lights are bright but they do not all work. One of the LEDs works when the brake is pressed but not on the running lights. Is it a big deal? No, but I notice it. Also, this is not a high quality piece, but it does the job. I like the look and will use it, although I think I will add silicone to the where the wire attach so it is water proof. Glad I bought it, just wish the LEDs all worked.

I wanted to replace my existing 50W halogen garden spot lights with a more energy friendly LED light.

I found these ones and was a bit worried they wouldn't provide the same level of light I currently had.

I would say they are as bright as my 4 50W lights and now rather than using 200W each night I am using 20W!!!!!

Have been using 5 since November 2011 and 5 more since over a week. The light doesn't look different from a 'normal' light bulb, also reducing the risk of theft. Lifetime spec. is 50,000hrs, most other lamps are 20,000. Keep in mind that these are a bit longer than the old halogen type lamps, so this one may or may not fit in your lamp. I use them for landscape lighting.
