I am converting most of my residential lighting to decorative type fixtures that feature the lamps. I find the miniature lamps to be more appropriate than the standard incandescent, cfl or even the medium base candelabra lamps. This adaptor allows any fixture to be fitted with miniature candelabra lamps.

I am pleased with the integrity of the socket; the price and certainly the speed of delivery.

The absense of using "E" numbers made if difficult to get the right part.

I wanted to convert an E12 Candelabra bulb (LED) to an Appliance bulb socket (E17),

It didn't occur to me that a standard household light bulb (E27) was called a "Medium" base and an E17 was called "Intermediate" so I ended up ordering & receiving E12 to E27 adaptors. Also, the graphic was deceiving and looked to me like a small E12 base to a relatively small E17 base adaptor.

From this negative exprience, I had to make a point of learning the various bases from not just by E-numbers but by their names: candelabra, medium, intermediate, etc.

Part me thinks that there is a conspiracy on the part of suppliers to keep the discriptions confusing to generate more business sales. Oh well, ARGH !..........

I was looking for device that would allow me to use candelabra bulbs in an intermediate size socket. Unfortunately this is not the device. The Satco 92-400 allows you to use candelabra bulbs in a regular size bulb receptical. In this capacity the Satco 92-400 works flawlessly. It seems to be made of good quality materials and feels sturdy. Even though it is not what I wanted, I will be keeping it on hand because there may be times when I want to use a candelabra bulb in a regular size bulb receptical.

What I should have purchased was an intermediate to candelabra socket reducer. I now hang my head in shame.

I too had the same problem with these Moonrays 11 watt landscape light bulbs. The first of 8 bulbs failed the day after I put it in. Bad bulb? Three days later, my sidewalk was completely in the dark again. The same thing happened with a second shipment of more of these bulbs.

Same bulbs I would have paid more for at a big-box store. They work. They will NOT work if you touch them with your fingers. None of them will, no matter where you buy them. The oil from your skin heats up when the lights come on, and will "fry" the bulb. Handle only with a piece of cloth or other protection between your fingers and the bulb, and the bulb will last for months. Touch them, and they'll burn out in a day or two. The bulbs are all the same price is the deciding factor here. I'd buy again.

I Purchased these as replacement bulbs for my outside landscape lights. None of the 4 bulbs lasted longer then 10 hours of use. I figured that I just got a bad package or they were damaged in shipping so because they were inexpensive I purchase another 4 pack. Sorry to say that I got the same results. I bought a 4 pack of another brand at Home Depot for about 5 1/2 dollars and although much more expensive as least they have lasted. I definitely do not recommend these bulbs.

I've been using this flashlight every night since June 20, 2013 to go see what my dogs are barking at. Sometimes it's a cat, sometimes it's a bunny. It was a dead mole one night (yuck). At least twice, it's been nothing. (It's used at least an hour a week and we haven't had to change the batteries yet. There's been no noticeable loss of brightness.)

I'm pretty fond of this light as it uses inexpensive batteries, compared to the CR123s that many of our other flashlights use, so I don't get yelled at for also using it as a dog toy (Pixie, our youngest dog, likes to chase the beam it's really bright!). It has a nice lanyard that has kept me from dropping it on my foot, which would hurt, because while this isn't as heavy as many of our other flashlights, it's also not some wimpy light weight (like many of our other flashlights).

We have a lot of flashlights. (My husband is a retired police officer who worked most of his years on night shift, so we have a lot of flashlights. A. Lot. Of. Flashlights.)

All in all, this was a good value, uses inexpensive batteries and throws out a lot of white light, giving me a sense of security against the evil bunnies and cats of our small Indiana town.

(My husband is making me write this part: The light produces a bright white round center with no dark spots but has only a moderate amount of spill. This light isn't made for close up use as it's too bright to the point of being blinding.)

(One only other drawback is that if you don't have the lanyard around your wrist and are out on the deck trying to find out what creature the dogs are barking at now, and the stupid lanyard brushes any part of your body, it feels like a bug specifically a gigantic spider and may make you scream like a little girl.)

For $11.50 this is a STEAL! This light is ridiculously bright and I can best describe it as a spotlight-type light. It EASILY cuts through dense foilage and seems to shine for quite a distance.

I replaced a generic motion sensor switch with this because (a) the generic switch did not adjust easily for duration of time on and (b) I wanted a dimming function. I like this switch a lot the motion sensor is incredibly sensitive I activate it from the other room sometimes. There is an adjustment to turn the sensitivity down but I haven't used it yet. Also I like the fact that 30 seconds before the lights fade to black, they fade 50% (again you can disable this option) to warn you they are going off. Very fancy.

Only thing I don't like is that the lights go on in daytime when the room is already bright... I'd love it if the motion sensor only functioned at night, like other motion sensors I have seen.

This unit is great we use it in our laundry room (also entrance from garage) and I plan to buy a couple more for other locations (some set to occupancy mode, some to vacancy).

It is very sensitive and sees me even when my movements are subtle. I like the dimming, the 30-second warning, and that there is no delay between when I think it should see me and it turning the lights on. The settings can be modified without taking the faceplate off and the timeout does not vary in length for unknown reasons. None of these are true for the other sensor switch I had (Leviton PR180) that failed prompting this purchase.

These are the settings you can adjust (again, without removing the faceplate):

Timeout [1/3/5/15/30 minutes]

30-second half-brightness warning [on/off]

Sensitivity [high/low]

Mode: Occupancy (auto on/off or Vacancy (manual on, auto off)

If there are cons, these are them: Even with sensitivity on "low" it is very sensitive. It spots us walking into our bedroom through a 10" wide space it can see through from across the laundry room (not a big deal). The "1-minute" timeout setting is actually 2 minutes. I timed it several times and it is EXACTLY 120 seconds before it dims the lights for EXACTLY 30 seconds before turning them off. 1 vs 2 minutes doesn't matter to me...but I figure this should be noted. Ability to set it to turn on the lights only when the room is dark would allow for it to be used in "occupancy" mode many other places (living room, kitchen, etc)...but those places would be served well by the current product in "vacancy" mode and selection of a longer timeout so also not a big deal.

This thing does exactly what I wanted it to do. When we walk into the room, it automatically turns the lights on to a dim level (that we set). A few minutes after we vacate the room, it turns the lights back off. Its person detection is pretty impressive. It's never failed to turn the lights on for us, and it's never turned them off while we were in the room. When we want to turn the lights to full brightness, we just walk over to the switch and give it a quick double-click. It'll still turn them off after we leave. And they'll still come on to the dimmed level when we come back. Just the way we wanted.

Hi FYI lutron make an LED or CFL version of this switch which also adds light level meter (model number MSCL-OP153MH). It allows the light to only come on when dark enough in the room and intelligently learns what light level from your interaction with the switch. Hope this helps someone!

I purchased this switch to save me the headache of installing an additional switch on the opposite end of the of the currently installed switch in the room (saving me the electrican expense of doing so). This switch is GREAT with a lot of cool features (e.g., programmable fade out; preset brightness level; auto on occupancy; auto off vacancy), it fills the gap intended perfectly. Now when we come home at night, entering the dark room from the side opposite the light switch (80 year old house, only wiring for one switch in the room) the light automatically comes on, saving us the task of navigating through a dark room to turn on lights.

The "almost" is because the switch works the same regardless of time of day. What would make this the "perfect" switch is a photocell which would allow the auto on feature to not function based on daylight in the room. I had purchased another switch from a different manufacturer that has a photocell however it requires a forth wire in the electrical box that my house doesn't have, and to run one would require an electrician (for which I might as well just install a regular switch on the opposite side of the room).

There is a programmable way to disable the auto on, but that would defeat the whole purpose of installing this switch so we tape a cover over the motion detector during the day: "Almost" perfect.

1) A metal tube extends about 6 inches out from base that does not bend. Probably no big deal if you want it for a desk light. If you put it over your bed, though, it may restrict the angle of illumination to certain areas.

2) There is no pin-up kit (i.e., it can't be plugged into the wall...it must be hardwired).

This makes 4 of these ball cap lights I have purchased. One for me, my brother, grandson, and son-in-law. We all love them. They give excellent light for the size...which is light weight as well as small....The battery charge lasts forever and I haven't even started on the recharge countdown. You have a flashlight of varying degrees which is no hands needed. So you can have your hands and arms full and still see. My son -in-law works with steel building BIG things. All the other guys in his shop have purchased the lights also. They use them on their hat brim to see where to mark and drill and weld in dark corners of the BIG things they build. I use it to check stock at night, see into the bottom of feed barrels, if chores catch me late then I can see where I am going and still carry a bucket of feed and a bucket of water. Marvelous!!!!!!!!!! I can't say enough good things about this little device. Oh and the shop guys are not as careful of it as I am and drop it or knock it off the tables....and it comes back still working strong.....did I say I LOVE these little things???? The only good thing that can be said about this light is that it is rechargeable. I wanted a cap light that was rechargeable so that I wouldn't have to keep buying and disposing of batteries to use it.

Unfortunately, the two chargers that come with this light (one charges from a wall socket and the other from a cigarette lighter plug in a car) are all too cheaply built. In an effort to offer chargers with retractable cords, the cords that were selected to make them are incredibly thin and flimsy (they seem more like strings that real electrical cords), and the retracting mechanisms don't fully retract the cords. They would have done better just to use coiled cords that are thicker and higher quality than these.

The only decent electrical cord that came with this light is the one that plugs in to a USB port -it's a normal thickness cord with no crazy retracting mechanism.

I do not have any confidence that either charger will work for long.

I found this light at Walmart, I usually have my doubts about flashlights or work lights at Target or Walmart because they're usually cheap quality but this one is nice and bright. It does have a few quirks though that I'm not really fond of.

1. No battery life indicator. The light just starts to get dim/dull on you then it dies. If you use this at home then that's not a problem, but if you're on the job you can't always find an outlet near by and continue working. So you should probably charge it every time you use it heavily.

2. The power adapter charger is an odd voltage (8vdc @ .225A) so if you lose the charger or want a second one to carry you're out of luck (unless you find it on ebay or a specialty electronics store). I forgot to bring it when I went out of town for work. I ended up having to buy another one of these lights because the battery died on me. I don't know what harm will come if you use a 9v adapter on it but I'm sure it'll void the warranty if it shorts out.

3. The position of the magnets are in odd places. Usually most of them have them at the base, this one is on top (which also connects the hook) and on the back side (just below the power button)

4. The top magnet is weak, it doesn't have enough strength to hold it horizontally (if it does hold, the slightest touch will make it fall)

5. The plastic feels kind of cheap, I'm not sure how well it'll stand up to a drop.

June 2011 update: Apparently I do need to say more... A few bulbs burned out very fast. Overall these may not last as long as some brand names but this is still a great deal considering the price.

Sept 2011 update: I'm already running out of the two packs (20 bulbs) that I received 11 months ago. Unfortunately at least a third of them (maybe close to half) died within a week, and several of those died within a few hours. The ones that lasted, lasted a while. Still, this pack of 10 will last longer than, say, a 3-pack of higher quality Feit Electric bulbs for the same price.

I use these on my desk lamp.

April 2013 update: CHECK THIS OUT. After I used all of those bulbs, I purchased the following: "CBConcept Brand Halogen Light Bulb 120Volt 50Watt JCD G8 Base 10-pack". I purchased them in October 2011. It is now April 2013, and I am still using only the 2nd or 3rd bulb!!! I have to change them so rarely that I don't remember how many I've used.

I have no choice but to reduce this rating, after trying a superior product.

I ordered two sets of 10 bulbs and the items were received as promised with free shipping. I replaced all the lights in my 8 bulb chandelier and the lights all have consistent coloring and look great. These definitely beat the individual bulbs sold in the big box home stores, which are more expensive and seem to vary in quality (some bulbs brighter or different color than others within the same brand). Now I'll have to wait and see how long the life is on them.

I needed a halogen replacement bulb for a desktop lamp. This was the best offer (price/unit) I could find on Amazon. Now I have 9 spare ones ;-)

Make sure you get the right size. G8 base means that the both metal pins are 8 millimeter apart. There are other base sizes out there: G6(.35), G4, G9 etc. Take a look at your desktop lamp and check for the max. Watt number you are allowed to install. When installing, don't touch the bulb with your bare skin, use a piece of paper(towel) instead. The dirt/oil of your finger tips could reduce significantly the life of your new bulb and please(!) remember to insert the glass sheet back after installing the bulb. It protects you from the UV light that halogen light bulb produce.

I picked this since my bathroom lights are of similar shape and size. I was fully aware that this is not going to be very bright, but since there are 6+ sockets there, I was not that concerned about individual brightness. When I first screwed this into my bathroom fixture, no light. I tried another socket elsewhere, no light either. Then I noticed that the plastic base is sitting on the edge of the socket. The neck (the screw portion that screw into the socket) is too short that the plastic base hits the edge of the socket. So, this may cause no contact at the base or I have a bad light. After trying almost all the light sockets in the house, I finally found one and finally, the light come on. It is indeed not very bright, more like a 15W incandescent and it can only fit into short socket....so beware of this. It cannot go into the bathroom socket that it is supposed to fill.

I found the same or similar bulb, same price, at Home Depot with 130 lumens instead of 80. I have spent over $1,200 on LEDs for my home and the best lesson so far is to ignore the "replaces xx Watt" and look at the lumens. It works as advertised.

I have six light fixture and I can hardly tell they a brightness difference between a standard 40 watt frosted bulb and these.

A "60-watt equivalent" (14 watt) fluorescent bulb, such as the Philips 22114, is rated at 800 lumens. Another 60-watt equivalent bulb, the Philips 409904 Dimmable AmbientLED, is 12.5 watts and 800 lumens.

This 2.8 watt bulb is rated at 80 lumens. That is, it creates roughly 1/10th of the light of a "60-watt equivalent" bulb, and uses double the energy (per lumen) in doing so.

(For comparison, the GE G25 25 watt incandescent vanity bulbs are rated at 210 lumens.)

Had I known this was an 80 lumen bulb, I wouldn't have wasted my time and money on it. It's not much brighter than a night light...

I needed to reduce the power consumed on a particular circuit so as not to trip the circuit breaker. (This same circuit has an infrared sauna.) I replaced three of six incandescent bulbs in an over-the-sink bathroom fixture with these decorative LED bulbs. To my eye, these 2.8 watt bulbs provide as much light as the incandescents they replace. I also had the issue where I thought a couple of the bulbs didn't work. However, the problem was caused by the bulb coming in contact with the fixture rim before the bulb had made proper contact with the copper tab in the middle of the light fixture. The "problem" was easily fixed by pulling the copper tab in the middle of the light fixture out a little before inserting the bulb. MAKE SURE THE POWER IS OFF to the fixture before you try this!

The specs on the Amazon page say 50,000 hour life while the package says 12,000 hour life. 12,000 hours are still a lifetime for me, so that's not a problem. The specs on the package say 80 lumens. That would be useful information for any lighting product.

The only negative is that it took a lot of research to make sure I was ordering the right bulb. Now that I know it's the right bulb for this application, I'll order more.

If you have existing rooms with in-ceiling cans for lighting that are driven by halogen size 30 lamps, you might be tempted to replace them with PAR38 LED lamps. Don't.

The fundamental problem with these (and another type from Philips I also tested) is that the beam is not as spread out (not a true flood) as the halogen bulb you would replace.

The result is that you get a very bright spot right below the lamps, and dark areas between the lamps, rather than a more uniform lighting accross the hole counter surface in your kitchen.

The technology seems there, its just a matter of spreading the light out more, or having the manufacturers angle the exterior LEDs a bit and add more diffuser to the front to get a proper even spread of light.

For these PAR38's to be usable they MUST be drop in replacements for existing fields of in-ceiling can's for larger rooms at home, and the current light pattern of the LED PAR38's is just not there. 20 to 40 degree beam widths is just too narrow.. almost a spot. A beam spread of more like 70-80 is what is needed for these to work... or they need to be longer so they don't dissappear back into the cans much farther than the halogens (which also contributes to shadows between the cans).

I ordered this product and recieved it at my front door the next day. This bulb emits a huge amount of light with good quality. The initial cost is a bit high, but if you look at it long term you are going to save more in energy costs, more than compensating for the up front cost. I'd highly recommend checking out this product for replacing hall lights or any other public space. I'm satisfied and plan on purchasing some more.

Very poor illumination range and quality. I am guessing that it provides the equivalent of a 40w bulb, through a green tint lens. A complete waste of money.

This bulb was labeled "white/warm white." The light is fairly white at full power, but when dimmed the family agrees the light appears greenish. We also notice it is very sensitive to power bounces, browning out when incandescent and CFL bulbs do not, probably the dimmer circuit is hyperactive. It's heavy, and the face is not smooth, so it has to be installed using a tall ladder not a suction-cup on a stick; but hopefully you only have to do this once.
