Just as described and hoped it would be, well made, nice and bright. Has three modes, blink, off/charge, and on at dusk/off at dawn. Can be mounted with

provided anchors by drilling and screwing into plastic molly or as I did with a "torch-down" mastic to the road surface. My only wish is please make a version

that is 3200 kelvin to match existing warm white landscape lights instead of the ubiquitous 5-6000 kevin cool blue white led. The yellow color one is too yellow.

That said, nice product and unlimited applications.

I used these lights to mark the seawall at my lake house. There is also a feature for solid on or blinking lights. These lights have a bright presentation all night long and mark the location of the seawall (waters edge) very well. Also gives a great presentation from the water and aides in night approaches.

Initially I was put off by the the negative reviews but after receiving these, the form factor and the build quality exceeded my expectations. The only thing lacking, and I assumed this from the failures that I read about in the one star reviews, it seems that the seals on the product need to be improved. I live in Costa Rica and we are in the heavy part of our rainy season I could see where water could penetrate the seal that protects the inside from moisture entering around the edges of the covering on top where the solar collector is and on the sides where the lights are positioned. This is an easy fix. Simply take waterproof, transparent silicone and run a bead around the edges of the top and sides and smooth with your finger for a nice finish. Trust me, when it rains here in the Central Valley, we get buckets full and I have had not one failure or moisture entering any unit. I purchased several other types of solar lighting and did the same where there was any area that could be breached with water. The silicone fix is cheap, easy to do, does not degrade the look or lighting capabilities and will increase the life expectancy. I have specifically installed these to the 4" x 4" uprights of my decking system and also to 4" x 4" timbers that outline the walkways in the courtyard for easy walking navigation. In fact, I need about 8 more to finish out a courtyard landscape and deck project that I recently completed and I am going to order again. Count on the lights to stay on all night, into the dawn and provide a premium and effective lighting ambiance. Keep this in mind, this is a great product but you need to do a little work here with the silicone. It should not deter you from this solar lighting solution. No, I do not work for the company but I have worked in the swimming pool manufacturing side of the industry for many years and I can tell you from experience, that all products outdoors can have a slight problem (especially when water or moisture comes into play / and also being electronic of some nature) and there is only so much time to beta test until you pull the trigger, invest in the molds and later you find a slight problem. This is reality. You will not be disappointed if you purchase these and follow my directions.

I purchased two of these lights several weeks ago. Both lights came well packaged and in perfect condition. They are very well built and match the description exactly. When I received them I was worried about the polarity of the terminals. Both terminals are identical and there is no polarity markings on the led or on the paper work. However, I soon figured out that it worked either way. It doesn't matter which way you hook up the polarity it still works. I only tested the lights with DC so I don't know if it would be the same for AC voltage but I believe it would work the same. These lights are VERY bright. Seriously, these things are like spotlights. They are significantly brighter than the incandescent bulbs in my house and they put off a whiter light also. I took an amperage reading and they consume around .33 amps. The only thing I could say that would be even slightly negative was the time it took to receive them. They came from over seas so it took a couple of weeks. They are worth the wait though. I would highly recommend these to anyone needing bright, well made lights.

Light, compact, single mode (on/off), feels pretty well made and probably not really "waterproof" (no o-rings) but most likely water resistant based on the deeper threading than some lights like this (though most flashlight are resistant to water in some degree.) Not super bright, about 10-15 lumens based on a non scientific side by side test with a known 10 lumen light. More of a tight beam, short distance type of light. Not bad to have for the price and if you lose it or it breaks, well its under 4 bucks. There are other single AA flashlights you can get that have 5 times the power or more, but you could also pay about 5 times the price (or more/less) depending on a number of factors. Not a bad little backup in a pinch. Better than a lot of cheapo hardware store front counter economy flashlights and a bit more compact/lightweight. I wouldn`t want to have to traverse a pitch black night in the woods with it, but it would be better than nothing. Like I said, what do you expect for under 4 bucks?

I just received this from Amazon. Shipping was prompt as promised. I haven't used the flashlight at this stage as it is charging for a full 24 hrs before first use as recommended by Maglite. Owning a number of Maglites in the past I am confident that the quality will be good.

I travel regularly outside the USA and thus needed to be able to charge this at 220-240v. The charger shipped with this kit is rated 100-240v and not 120v only as specified in this description. Because of this description error I purchased a step down (220-110v) transformer for use with this product which was totally unnecessary. Hopefully Amazon will take the transformer back and issue a full refund !!

My daughter is a theater major. SHe asked me to help find her a flashlight that produced a blue beam. Not an easy challenge. The nebo 5589 fit the bill. She claims to use it during performances and is often sought out by other techies when they need a light source. If you know someone who needs to see without being seen? The light barely fits over a hard hat and is made of plastic that break easily. One of the pieces that holds the light onto the base has alredy broken off and fallen out. PRO I like NOT having a battery pack on the back of head.

It uses 2 AAA batteries which makes it lightweight.

I use it mostly for nighttime reading, green light is plenty bright

for reading and uses half the power.

CON The battery life isnt what i expected, but i had been used to a

light that had 3 AA batteries. Instead of the light staying fairly bright

and then dying when the batts died, this light seems to gradually go

dim and dimmer for days before dying. (Maybe it is my batteries, I don't know)

This thing must be from Mars! The picture makes it look flat but it actually has a rounded, oblique shape that looks like some type of NASA project. It is very bright and durable as others have described and you can toggle through hi, low and strobe. The rubber guarded switch is very solid with a good positive detent when depressed... won't accidentally come on in pocket or purse. When you stop for a second or so on a setting the next click will then turn the light off. If you leave it on it will shut down in 30 minutes. The metal space ship looking body is durable and held together with 4 screws... one of mine fell out. No moisture seal is present. 2016 batts can be expensive and if you use this light frequently the batteries will expire quickly the trade off for such a bright torch. So try and find a deal on a multipack of batteries. You can get one of these at Target for $6 change and they sell a two pack of batts for $5... makes sense to just by another light and have a spare! This light would be ultra awesome if it had an eyebrow over the top of the bulb to keep the glow out of your eyes.

Update 9 Aug 2012:

After more than a year of hard use this nifty devise is still like new. Even after going through the washer... spin cycle must have dried it out! Highly recommended!

Only had this about a day and wanted to say how surprised I am with the brightness. On high, it's almost like a small flashlight. I had no trouble illuminating the far wall in a three car garage. Low seems enough for most closer in tasks and is brighter than you'd think. Helps conserve batteries, also. Beam type provides plenty of usable flood around the center. Interface is easy to use with a good feeling push button switch you don't have to hold down. I doubt it will get accidently turned on in your pocket or purse. Overall build quality appears solid. Keyring is of medium quality...easy enough to attach a heavier duty one. I'm a little concerned with battery life, but the trade-off for brightness seems worth it. You can save a lot on batteries here on amazon. I purchased two 5 packs of Maxell for under six dollars and no shipping charges. It takes two CR2016 button cells and you'll need a very small phillips head screwdriver.

Nice little flashlight! It is 2" long, including the bulb protrusion. Very solid. No worries about this flashlight falling apart! I always keep it in my pocket just in case but don't use it as an actual keychain.

There is a rubberized button switch which you use to toggle through the settings, from high intensity to low intensity to flashing and then back to off. After a second or two, you are fixed on your selected setting and, thus, it will turn off when you click again. This means that you don't have to cycle through all the other settings in order to turn it off from the high intensity beam: you just go directly to off.

Highly recommended.

I did not buy mine from Amazon; I got mine from Target for $7. It's a great light for your keychain.

The Energizer High Tech (referred to as just "the Energizer" in this review) runs on two CR2016 batteries. Listed runtime is two hours, but I've used mine intermittently for about three years with no loss in output. Output is 13 lumens on high, 6 lumens on low, and 13 lumens in strobe. The light source is one 5mm LED, which is exposed. Click the rubber switch for high, another for low, another for strobe (about 2.5 pulses per second), and another for off. In any mode, a two-second delay will turn the light off with the next button press instead of going to the next mode. The body is made of polished metal, and it has the heft of stainless steel. The back has four small Phillips screws for changing the batteries. A keyring is attached.

I've used this light on keys, zipper pulls, and backpacks for years. It's tough, reliable, and bright enough for its size. I want more of them :-)

I have recessed lighting throughout the house and much of it is on dimmers. I have had a really difficult time finding CFLs that work with the dimmers. For that matter, even the CFLs that aren't on dimmers have been a problem. The light output never seems to match the claims, even the ones that are supposed to come on quickly come on slowly, the reliablity hasn't come close to matching the claims and there is hassle of disposal because of the mercury.

So far I have had one of these bulbs for one day so I can't comment on the reliabilty but every thing else about the bulb impresses. It comes on quickly, is very bright and dims in cadence with the incandescent next to it. I am not sure if it is truly a "warm white". It is not "cold" or blue so I think I prefer it to the brownish color coming out of the incandescent next to it.

My next step is to replace 10 bulbs with these and see how consistent and reliable they are.

BTW: The box the bulb comes packaged in says that the life span is 50,000 hours not the 30,000 that amazon description says.

I am new to LED home lightening. This bulb is great where another cheaper one was not OK. Compared to the cheaper bulb this one: (1) dims very well, (2) turns on with no delay, uses a "CREE" brand electronic chip (which you can research if interested). The electronics make a BIG difference in how an LED bulb performs. At 8 watts, this bulb is half the wattage one might expect. It has 7 high quality LED's which point down with no diffuser. Perhaps not wide enough beam of light for every application but good enough for me. The color quality is a very attractive warm white. The white seems warmer and more attractive than other "warm white" LED bulbs. At only 8 watts this bulb is less bright than others but for me it looks better, is easier on the eyes, requires less or no dimming, and consumes only a small fraction of the electricity used by 50, 75, or 100 watt incandescent bulbs. Brightness is somewhat subjective so it is best to test one for yourself. It seems outlandishly expensive but it really is much better quality than others. If this one suits your needs for brightness and width of beam, you will not be satisfied with cheaper ones. The high price is not a misprint or a rip off. I am very pleased with this bulb and have ordered more to test a whole room with them before replacing all incandescent PAR 30 bulbs in whole house. Becasue it looks OK and dims well, this bulb makes it feasible to save on electric bills and help the environment. Also, if you want to live off the grid or prepare for using a backup generator, this bulb reduces your lighting wattage by up to 10 times so you need fewer sollar cells and a smaller generator.

These lights are absoulutely awesome. I have 7000 lights surrounding my house and these are the coolest set I have. The price at Amazon is more expensive trhan COSTCO however. You can get these at COSTCO for $64.99 after taxes in Colorado. Oh, you cannot connect multiple sets as well. You need to have a separate outlet for each set.

purchased 2 sets of 50 light Color Effects® G-35 String sets and after working fine for 1 week now one set doesnt work properly (the first 3 lights do but not the rest of the string). I cant even use the remote to turn them off; i have to unplug them. I called GE customer service and spoke to a CSR and while she was very polite could not solve my problem but to say send in the string for repair. I don't think it's too much to ask when i pay 150.00 for lights to work thru at least one christmas season. These lights are not stable dont waste your money.

I used the lights ONE night at Halloween, then put them up on my gutters using the included clips last week. Now they are DEAD, after 8 days of use. I gave it 2 stars only because they were bright, the various pre-programmed "shows" were cool, and the length was perfect for my house. They are guaranteed for 3 years, so I will try to get them replaced but I doubt that will happen before Christmas.

UPDATE: Called the warranty phone number and a human answered. They are shipping us a new controller.

The Page by Page Lamp is one of the best novelty items you can buy for the price. It seems pedestrian a lamp in a book but when have you ever seen something like this before? The lamp comes with two color filters, five pages of drawings, and five blank pages for your own indulgences. The light can be stood up or hung up and looks great. It really brings a nice hue into the room and can lighten up the atmosphere. There was a lot of ingenuity used to build the lamp; instead of using a lever, you can turn the light on and off by pushing it in. The light is strong and seems to be very durable. I really enjoy the lamp because it is creative and novel. In my opinion, it would serve as a palatable gift for others.

A few things to note:

The second page has instructions (12 pages overall; 1 for cover page, 1 for instructions, 5 for graphics, 5 for drawings). I skipped over it and was confused for a bit. I thought I broke the light but I just pressed the lamp by mistake and it clicked off.

It doesn't come with a wall adapter but I just use my iPhone one (I have a spare one).

The filter to change the color for the lamp doesn't fit perfectly and annoys me at times. However, it is still suitable for changing the color if you don't stare at it all day like me.

Edit: I actually didn't read the instructions properly (twice now). The filter mentioned above needs to be inserted in a thick back page to stay in place rather than being tucked in behind the light. Whoops.

I really liked this product. When I ordered it, I showed it to my dad and he was duly intrigued by it. He thought it was pretty cool I have to admit that he's right.

The lamp in itself is an interesting idea, but nothing more than a bookshelf novelty. As noted by other reviewers, it doesn't come with a USB adapter to plug it into, and the lampshade is lacking in the design area. The lampshade doesn't fit behind the actual light, and if it is put behind the other pages it droops awkwardly. Overall it's an interesting idea but falls short of being something that I would want to buy.

This product makes absolutely no sense. I was given a free "lamp" by the manufacturer in exchange for an Amazon review. Thanks but no thanks. The package included a large notebook and a usb cord. There was suppose to be an AC adapter in the box but there wasn't, in other words, there was no way to use it. I used one from another electronic I had and then I plugged in the lamp waiting for something spectacular to happen. That is when the disappointment set in. I became depressed because this awesome lamp I waited for was just a notebook with a light on it. The "lamp" gives off no light and the pages are really stupid. Now I'm pissed.

Cheap Princeton Tec Yukon HL LED Headlamp

I was fly fishing before dawn one morning, wading across a river that is popular with rafting trips. In the pre-dawn gloom, I noticed a faint light coming from underwater, which seemed REALLY odd. I was in waist deep water, and waded over to where I saw the light shining. Looking down into the water, I could see it was a headlamp that someone had dropped. I picked it up with my wading stick, and soaked my arm up to the shoulder to retrieve it from the current. It was a Princeton Tec Yukon HL 3 LED Hybrid Headlamp (Blue) and was just faintly still shining. It had probably been dropped the night before upstream and had swept down to this current eddy.

Well, I turned it off and threw it into my chest pack and went back to fishing for about three or four hours. When I got back to camp, I pulled it out and inspected it, seeing that it had gotten water inside the lens because the lens hadn't been screwed on tightly (it is sealed by an o-ring like a dive light). Also, water had intruded into the battery compartment. I pulled out the batteries and disassembled the lamp and blew out the water, then set it aside to dry for the rest of the day. That night, I put in a fresh set of batteries, and it worked just fine. Sweet! I had a new headlamp!

Fast forward THREE years: Finally, the wiring developed a short inside the battery compartment in a place that was not really fixable. I sent an email to PrincetonTec explaining that I was NOT the original owner and had actually found the light underwater in a river, but wanted to know if I could PAY to have it repaired, I liked it so much. I got an email asking for my address.

Five days later a BRAND NEW Yukon HL lamp arrived in the mail from PrincetonTec. I was blown away.

Two years later, I drop the headlamp (actually flung it across the room on accident) and the battery compartment clip breaks. Again, I email asking to purchase a new clip. Not only does the customer service rep answer my email WITHIN AN HOUR, she asks for my address so she can ship me a new clip at no charge.

Awesome lamp, even better customer service! I will never buy another brand of headlamp besides PrincetonTec, that is for sure!

I am a caver and have used my Yukon HL for several years. I now own a 130 lumin Apex, but still prefer the Yukon HL due to it's battery efficiency and dependability. My light is only about 20 lumins while the later one is 78 lumin, with even better battery life. Princeton Tech gives a lifetime warranty on their lights, and have great customer service. If you are looking for a dependable LED headlamp with enough light output, and great battery efficiency, then I highly recommend the Yukon HL.

Bright white light, on the cooler side. Lasts a long time, if you never turn the light off. If you turn the light fixture off and on multiple times a day, it will burn out within a month easy. This time I just leave the light on 24 hours a day and it has lasted 2+ month so far.

Review of Ushio 1000489 - FCM JP120V-1000WC1 Projector Light Bulb

I taught a 6 week screen printing class this summer. I discovered that someone had replaced the 1000 watt bulb in our Exposure Unit with a 100 watt bulb. It might have worked, given hours of exposure time. To be able to expose screens within the time frame of our class, we needed a new bulb right away. It's too unusual a product to exist in our small town, so I ordered this online. It arrived quickly, worked great, and my students did lots of terrific posters and t-shirts. Really, it saved the day to have this bulb.
