I am a person that never sleeps at night and when my husband and I travel, I like to take along a book light to read with so I won't disturb him, (or his snoring!).Anyway....I have tried so many book lights, and have found if I like it for hardback, it won't work for paper, or it never really gives the light I need without constant manipulation of the light, the book or me.

Well, I have found that light. This itty bitty slim booklight is exactly what they promised. It fits on all three size books, hardback, trade, and paper, and it is so lightit doesn't make the book top heavy. The double little bulb lights both pages, there is no obstruction when turning pages like in some of the lights, and it is so slim and lightweight, it is great to throw in a purse or briefcase for travel. I was willing to pay the price based on the rave reviews, the travel-friendly collapsible design, the flat base (so you can also use it as a bedside lamp while rummaging in the dark) and the spine clip, but the gooseneck was not long enough for the light to cover all of both pages of even a normally small paperback, and the light was not bright enough to compensate and I generally use these lights in very dark bedroom situations, not in low-light situations like evening train rides where it might do fine. After trying 5 different lights of varying manufacturers, designs and prices, I ended up going with the $12 version of the Mighty Bright LED light. I'd rather have the spine clip than the cover clip, but my 48 year old eyes need the extra brightness that none of the spine clip LED versions seemed to be able to achieve. It's hard to believe this is such rocket science. IF Zelco added an inch to this light and made it brighter, it'd be worth any price they named!

This light works great and is very respectful to those around you. It is a bit pricey, but it really does the job on any kind of book. I read some reviews that didn't like the quality of the piece, mostly regarding the construction and plastic battery door and whatnot. I understand those concerns, and concur to some degree. Having said that, I have used mine commuting roughly in NYC for several weeks, tossing it into my bag and pockets without any injury whatsoever. I would definitely recommend this light to the picky book reader, I've used a lot of lights and have not found its equal. It is pricey, but worth it. The only things keeping it from 5 stars would be the battery door and the price.

I have an obssession with reading late at night. If the book is good I won't be able to put it down until 3 or 4 AM. My wife was constantly complaining about me waking her up and bothering her sleep so I figured I could use a personal light.

I got this because it had a favorable review at Slate

and immediately agreed with the review. The light is LED which should last pretty much forever, I've been using it for the past month on the same set of 3 AAA batteries and it's still going strong.

It fits snugly over the spine of the book and so far managed to fit & light any size book I was reading at the moment (it feels slightly looser on paperbacks). It doesn't require any adjustments when you flip pages which is a plus since most book lights will requires so adjustments on page turns.

Construction is pretty strudy and it slips into a very slick carrying case that you can stick anywhere. and its very light so you almost don't feel the added weight when you hold the book. the battery cover is a little flimsy and may require jingling.

But the best part is that it light the book and the book only. the light sits on top of a tiny crane that you can adjust to make sure the entire pages is lighted adquedately and that nothing else is lighted.

Excellent product, other than the battery cover its perfect.

UPDATE: one more issue I found is that it's very hard to tell when the light goes dim. I use it daily and it goes a little dimmer every day. When it gets hard to read the bottom of the page, it's time to change the batteries

I received this book light for X-mas and I absolutely love it!! It works great with hardcover and paperback books. You are able to light both pages at the same time which is hard to do with most book lights. I also found that this light is very comfortable to use with paperback books and it doesn't weigh them down.

This book light is definitely worth the price!! I've used other LCD lights in the past that hardley light up the page and the clip seems to fit awkwardly on paperback books. This light will fit any book that has a spine on it and give you the proper amount of light without disturbing others.

This light comes with a case and is very portable. It will easily slip into a purse or pocket or you can keep it attached to your book.

The lamp works fine although a little fragile. The first time i moved the lights around the third pod came apart. It clicked back together but if I move that pod it will separate very easy. The lite is good and the third option is very bright.

I have a commercial property that had about 10 traditional heavy-duty outdoor flood lights that used 300W light bulbs. The light bulbs kept burning out and I kept having to replace them and their ballasts. That was a pain in the neck. I had to get a super tall 3-story ladder just to change all that. Then I read about LED flood lights and how a lot of businesses were changing to them all over the country. I found these on Amazon for about $226 each with free shipping and I bought 10 of them.

Those who know about LED lights know that they, on average last 12+ years which was great for me since I wouldn't have to keep changing light bulbs and ballasts every 2-3 years. Also, these LED lights are only 26W compared to the 300W I used to have. This meant a savings of 274W per light fixture. Times that by 10 fixtures and that's a 2,740W savings! So when I got these fixtures, I immediately called my electrician (better to have them installed professionally) and the next day they were functional.

Yes, the lumens that this produces is not as much as my old 300W flood lights but in my opinion, it was good enough. I had them mounted at the same height as my old flood lights about 18 feet above ground level. It's bright enough so that I can see intruders on my security system at night. That and the fact that my electricity bill dropped $190 after the first month I installed these lights makes these lights my new best friend. As a point of reference, my outdoor flood lights are on 7 days a week from dusk until dawn. I figure that I'll break-even on the $2,226 I spent on the LED lights back in about 11-12 months which is a whole lot faster than solar.

I've used the Princeton Tec Aurora (3 leds on 3 AAA batteries) for several years for camping, house wiring, running in the dark. It accidentally went through the wash last month so I took it apart, dried it out, and it works fine!

I needed a brighter headlamp for running so I tried the Apex. I've been using the included alkaline batteries mostly on the low, 3W led setting for two weeks (~4 hours total). The battery indicator is still green!. It fits comfortably and securely and I got used to the weight of it quickly.

This headlamp has a lifetime warranty, excellent documentation, and is brighter than I thought it would be. Oncoming vehicles actually switch off their high-beams and cross to the opposite lane when they encounter my bright light and that makes me feel safer.

this is my first pro level headlamp.

I am currently using it for night time trail running. for that setting I am using the high setting 3 watt led. that lasts just under two hours on two AA batts. for running fire roads I use the high setting on the small LEDs and it works fine.

its only been used in dry weather thus far, so I cant comment on its waterproof qualities. the battery compartment seems to have a solid seal at the o-ring.

this is very well constructed and though it aint light, its comfortable to wear for a 1 1/2 hour run over a skull cap.

this is money well spent compared to the crap previously owned and discarded after failure. a thoughtful design and quality build.

the spot is bright enough that I might take it along on night bike rides as a backup if my main helmet light fails.

you wont bomb any trails with it but it will get you home at a decent pace.

addendum: after more than two years of use with three separate lights I have additional commentary. there is a design weakness with these lights, namely the hinge/plastic heat sink surround is prone to breakage if you should drop or knock the light head against anything. if it was just a tad beefier it would probably be OK, but dont handle this light after you just finished catching a greased pig, or insert your own lubricated-hands analogy...

I will note that the first time I broke this hinge Princeton Tec sent me a brand new light free of charge, so I still love them. now I have three to send back and will be curious what they will charge for repairs

This is by far the best head lamp on the market. I'm a caver and most lights aren't bright enough, cost too much, or fall apart easily. The many modes of this light make caving so much safer. If I'm in a very large walking passage I'll switch this light to the high output middle LED. If I need to have more light directly in front of me (at my feet and 15-20 feet out) I'll switch the light to the outer four LEDs. Also, each LED has a dim mode. This is perfect for mapping or conserving battery life. The battery life is better on this light than any other consumer head lamp that I've tried. Almost everyone that I cave with has switched to this head lamp after they've caved with me a few times. The voltage regulator works very well on this lamp.

I've had this a couple of years now, and overall am quite impressed.

There are four brightness settings, and the brightest one compares quite favorably to a good-quality four-cell flashlight. The least bright setting plenty good enough for walking on a dark trail on a moonless night, and will give (I'm guessing, now) about 20 hours on four AA batteries.

When you are in a low voltage situation, the light flashes four times to let you know, but you don't have to put in new batteries when the voltage drops below the regulated level. Instead, you can just use the light until it gets dimmer than you are comfortable with. Doing this will more than double your battery life, at the expense of brightness, of course.

This is an expensive light, but it probably the best one out there. You can experiment with a lot of cheap ones, or save money by buying the best in the first place.

Semi-retired guy with a few vending machines to help supplement meager income. Vending machines have fluorescent lamps that are a little different size than what is easily available. Some companies require minimum orders of 50 or 100. When you can find smaller quantities the prices are really high. This company sells small quantities to little guys for very low prices. GREAT!

This product is beautiful but be warned the installation of the canopy is VERY challenging. Thoroughly read the, very difficult to understand instructions, and if you have ANY questions contact WAC customer service. Mistakes made installation are not undoable. Repeated attempts to adjust the internal components results in shortening shortening of the cord. If you are not careful you will end up with a very short light. I spoke with the customer service people, they receive A LOT of calls and 4 out of 5 people who misread the directions then have to return the product.

Seller is great. I received the product a week before the anticipated ship date.

In the end, the lights are beautiful so it is worth the aggregation but be warned of the challenges.

I live on a farm, miles from the nearest town and neighbors. My place has been hit a couple of times, quick grab and go scoundrels and not much more. I purchased 6 of these to place around our property and I used lithium batteries, not the cheaper types that you might install in a flashlight.

The lithium batteries power a small red LED light that blinks on and off and give the impression the cameras are "on" and "seeing" what might be in their view. The LEDs have been blinking reliably for a month straight and at night they look VERY real.

I'm impressed with this device because they resemble true cameras that emit an invisible infrared light for night viewing. They have held up well in storms and are easy to adjust and rotate. If someone looks close at the front of the camera, it appears to have built in infrared illuminators. These are the new technology "lights" that provide an invisible light that the eye can not see, but a professional crook might understand and know is the same style of light used on expensive "game cameras" that hunters use to capture images of animals at night.

I'm happy with my purchase and I feel these "fake" cameras do a good job to discourage thieves.

Just a couple weeks ago I heard noises outside very late at night and saw through the 2nd floor window two punks trying to break into a car. I made a noise, they saw me, and they ran away. I imediately wanted something to deter this from happening again so I got this fake vid cam as a temporary measure until I get something that takes real photos. So far no noises, but its too early to tell.

From my point of view, this fake camera looks real from afar, especially if you install it somewhere elevated and out of reach. I highly recommend the latter because, up close, it looks and feels plasticy. At night, a trespasser might not tell the difference. But since its low quality and empty inside, it can be easily destroyed and knocked down (by the trespasser). ANother tip, it comes with a realistic power wire stemming from behind the camera down to the mounting bracket., but obviously, you have to install it in a place where its believable. Dont be installing it on a palm tree or concrete wall expecting burglars to think there's power running to the camera.

The battery compartment was a real pain to take off, I felt like I was ripping the thing apart. But once installed the red LED light blinked continuously for 1 second every second. So it WILL be noticed. Now people will know you have "eyes at night". WIll they think its fake? WIll they think you are protecting something important? Only time will tell, because this camera won't.

UPDATE 10/26/12 *******

Its been a year now since I originally wrote this review, and so far I haven't come across an incident where I was startled by suspicious activity from the outside (knock on wood). I did have to replace the batteries once during this time period... just dont let anyone see you put batteries in a security camera with a cable running into the wall.

The most important question anyone should be asking themselves regarding a dummy camera is; does it look real. Will it fool people into thinking it's an actual functioning camera. If the answer is yes, then you have found what you're looking for and you should consider buying it. But what if the answer isn't quite "yes." What if it only comes close?

I liked the way this camera looked over the others that were offered and I bought it. When it arrived, my initial thought was; I guess it looks as real as a plastic camera can. Sometimes it's hard to tell from an item's picture of what you're going to get until you actually hold it in your hand. Don't get me wrong, the photo they have posted is actually what you will receive. There is no deception; just understand it's all plastic. Maybe real security camera's and their accociated mounting brackets are actually made of plastic these days, I don't know. I guess I was hoping for some thin aluminum somewhere to help with the deception. I agree with the other reviewers in one sense; it does look real ... but I have to add, 'if it's not viewed too closely or when it's dark.' If you have somewhere high you can mount it, I think you will be pleased. Keep in mind not to mount it too high because you will eventually have to replace the batteries (2 AA, not included.) Also, don't mount it directly under an unmovable object for the same reason. The battery compartment is on top of the camera and you don't want to take the entire camera down just to swap out the batteries.

This camera comes close and I am currently using it. It has fooled some of my neighbors already and that's a good sign it's doing what it was intended to do. On the other hand, my neighbors might just be humoring me and not saying anything.

These are the best I've had. What the information given fails to mention is that these candles actually have a third option. Which is a ten hour timer as well. A ten hour timer is an insomniac's dream come true! I love that they come in the three different sizes. They look so much better grouped that way. The scent is nice but not overpowering. They do look quite realistic. They glow from realistic heights. For example, the tallest candle glows about midway up. I'm quite impressed! I've already ordered another set! This headlight combines features that make it the best flashlight I've ever owned. Batteries in the back and headlight in the front for balance with a comfortable band make it barely noticeable when wearing. The ultra bright LED's are amazingly bright. The switch is just a one position button switch which is easy to find in the dark. I've gotten rather tired of other headlamps that have multiposition switching I never use. The unit is very high quality in appearance. Just one thing: after a couple years of hard use, the cord connection going into the headlamp portion is becoming intermitent. But I must say this unit has outlasted any other flashlights I've put through the torture of my electrical jobs!

...One year later: I realized that the review I wrote (above) was about the three light version which still functions and which I prefer to the six light.

The six light has a wider beam, runs surprisingly warm for an LED type, and the batteries don't last nearly as long. I still love these headlamps.

I wasn't able to find many helpful reviews on this headlamp besides the previous one on this site. So I was a little hesitant to purchase. I'm glad I pulled the trigger, this headlamp rocks! Bright enough for any task. batteries were installed when it arrived but were weak (so make sure you put a fresh set in). I also purchased the LED lenser H7.... Which is another fantastic product. It's at least five times brighter and can be focused as well. But this headlamp is nothing to sneeze at, you'll have plenty light for camping among other things. For under twenty dollars you can go wrong.

Light is very bright. We use these type of lights all the time and this one is brighter than the ones I have had before. Price is right.

Cons: head strap is a too small even after adjusting all the way out (made for a Chinese size head I guess). The switch feels a little cheap but we will have to see how it holds up in the long run.

I am going to order more.

If you need hands free light this is one to consider. It has a beam that is more of a flood light so working under a house is easy. You have all the light that you could need. If you are looking for something that has more of a focused beam this may not be the one for you.

The beam is great for lighting the area around you, if you were hiking at night this is prefect. We have used these for cave exploration, they work well with the addition of a focused beam flashlight for looking into those deep holes or wells.

The battery life is good as well, when we use cheap batteries we get up to 3 hours life, good name brand batteries will extend the use to 4 hours or a little more.

Its a great headlight for very little money. I have a few other products from Coast and they are all of very good quality.

LED's are the way to go in RV's. They save so much power (90% in my experience) that is usually drawn by incandescent lamps. If you dry-camp without hookups and don't like to run a generator, you must have LEDs. I used this one to replace the incandescent lamp in my vehicle's shower. Good fit, good light.

I wanted to get my boyfriend some nightlights that looked cooler than standard nightlights, but would still provide me with enough light to get around his condo at night. I was really nervous that these nightlights would be cheesy, but they really aren't. You can adjust the light to change colors in a flash (which, I have to admit, looks a little cheesy) or fade from one color to the next, which is actually pretty cool. You can also set it to stay on one single color, that's what my boyfriend did he likes the green. Plus, it has a light sensor, so you don't have to worry about switching it on and off. We both really love the nightlights and they look great in his condo!

The unit is smaller than I expected. Looking at the picture, I expected it to be kinda big. The photo sensor works really well. The leds kick in immediately after you turn off the lights. And in the morning it shuts down by itself.

Overall, I think its an okay night light because of the following: the night light is not nearly bright enough. The modes are kind of weak. If you select the continuous change you will see many nice colors (which is great) but the drawback is that they change way too fast. It would be really nice if it had another continuous change mode that was slower in changing the colors. In fact, if it had this feature it alone would make me give it 5 stars and forget the rest of the drawbacks.

I hope they make a new version of the light with a slower color-change and one that allows you to lock it in on white or any of the numerous "changing colors," such as bluish purple or orange.

Anyway, if you buy it and find that the speed of the color-change is fine for you, I'm pretty sure you will be satisfied with the night light.

I purchased 2 of these LED lights for a storage shed. Due to the cold conditions, florescent lamps were unreliable.

These lamps have a high output, white light and start in any weather. The are very lightweight and easy to install. I wish I had these in my workshop. When they become available in 8' assemblies, I will consider replacing my 12-8' dual tube florescent lamps.

This device works basically as advertised; however, make sure what it does is what you really need before purchasing it.

I bought it to monitor an electrical circuit with a trip-prone GFCI safety device. One outlet on the circuit powers a chest freezer out in my garage. I plugged this unit into an indoor outlet connected to the same circuit. If the GFCI trips, cutting off the power to the freezer and creating a nightmare if the situation remains undetected, the alarm goes off inside.

In my case, this works out perfectly. When triggered, the alarm is just loud enough to attract attention.

There are two significant "catches." First, and as others have noted, the alarm is not very loud. It is about as loud as the beeps of a small alarm clock, or perhaps the more powerful alarm watches. You can hear it fine in a nearby quiet area. You can't hear it through moderately thick walls or from very far away. I can hear it OK inside my single-story house, but I couldn't hear it when I tried connecting it in the garage.

Second, while the unit is fairly unobtrusive, it does tie up an outlet without providing a pass-through socket, and it may interfere with plugging something into the adjoining socket. This could be a problem if you need the socket it occupies, or if you are trying to connect a transformer brick, GFCI plug, or similar bulky plug-in into the remaining socket of a typical outlet.

If these two issues aren't a problem, then this device will do the job just fine.

I bought this hoping it would warn us of a power failure on the circuit to our chest freezer. The light is cute, but the so-called alarm buzzer of 85 dB is a joke. it may be 85 dB if you place it right next to your ear, but from a distance of 20 feet, it is barely audible. to make matters worse, our unit broke in less than 3 weeks. I would not recommend this to anyone; I wish the star ratings allowed an entry of zero stars

Box say 86db, I can't believe it is more than 8.6db. This is junk and I feel as if I was ripped off.

This alarm is a must for anyone with a CPAP machine. It is small and unobtrusive. I no longer am concerned about a power outage. If the power goes off in that outlet, an alarm goes off similar to an alarm clock. There is also a light that goes on at the same time. This is a must for anyone that sleeps with any electrical appliance. Great peace of mind for a small price!

This "alarm" is too quiet. It wouldn't wake up a mouse. It measures 56db @ 12" from the device.

For comparison, the fan on the freezer I wanted to protect is 54db.

It needs to be at least as loud as a cell phone.

Useless for me.
