This flashlight works great, runs cool. I used it for plumbing under a sink, plenty of light, not quite a flood light but it has good beam spread. It ran 3+ hours and then I used the battery in the drill with no apparent end of charge. LED's should last almost forever so you never have to replace the bulb.

I have couple of other LED flashlights to compare it to and the 160 lumen output seem fair.

This is a well designed light, which I find useful in many situations. It can light up a small area of the desk in front of me, or it can light up a wall 20 feet away. With the adjustable head and the rear pull-out hanger it's easy to get light where you need it. Very little drain on the battery. Highly recommended.

UPDATE:

I modded this with a 450 lumen LED bulb:

I had to modify the bulb housing a bit, but altogether not that hard. The beam it produces is a wide flood with an intense long range spot. Battery life still seems like forever. Now I could not be happier.

I could have bought the xenon bulb version of this flashlight and done the same thing, would have saved money.

==============================

I expected a LOT better from Milwaukee, especially for $60.

This flashlight is easily outperformed by the $10 LED variety that take regular batteries. "Decent" would be stretching it for light output.

Yes the battery life is great, but that's really just a matter of the battery being great, NOT the light. Well, I suppose if you consider how dim this light is then I suppose that contributes to long battery life.

Here's a suggestion Instead of just one level of output (Low), have multiple. That way users can decide if they want dim light all day, or lots of light for few hours, or something in between. The batteries charge in 30 minutes so your not SOL if you run out of juice (plus you probably have more than one battery on hand anyway).

If you absolutely must have a flashlight that uses M18 batteries, and if the light output of a disposable is enough for you, only then can I recommend this.

Honest reviews on Milwaukee 2735-20 M18 LED Worklight

I bought this LED Worklight as an extension of the M18 set I already had. I figured, since I have two of those rechargeable batteries, I might as well put them to good use. And I have to say, this is by far the best and brightest lamp I have ever owned.

It puts out a bright cone of light of about 90° and the head of the lamp can be rotated to different angles.

It was already a great help during a repair under the sink: just put it into the cabinet, light facing up and had plenty of indirect light to do everything. Even when looking for something in the garden at night it's phantastic. The grip/handle is nicely shaped and the on/off switch is like a trigger under your index finger.

Great lamp!

The Milwaukee 2735-20 M18 LED worklight is handy to use and provides a bright, but not glaring, light. The M18 battery gives it a secure base and the ability to aim the head vertically is very useful. A little pricey, but well worth the cost.

I was a little worried when I purchased this product thinking I was going to get some flimsy plastic garbage because of the low price. I was happy with what arrived however. The lamp seems pretty solidly built using almost all metal. It is definitively energy efficient. I tested it and it was pulling only about 3W. The color of the light is roughly about the same as "daylight" CFLs. The only minor negative I have about this lamp, is it is not the brightest. I don't know if I would use this as my only light over a desk in an otherwise dark room. For me, using this above the work on my desk along with another floor lamp in my room provided an ideal amount of illumination.

Item arrived fastly, the lamp looks nice, does not look cheap but itbis quite small and doesn't lit much, I have to order a second one so that with two, my daughter's desk is almost entirely floodlit.

I wanted a cheap, LED-based lamp to light a small part of my standing desk in my home office. This works perfectly for that purpose. Been using for about 6 months and have had no problems at all. The power cord is somewhat cheap (think cable) but that doesn't pose a problem (yet). The switch is a simple rocker and I attached it to the side of my desk to make it easily accessible. Provides nice, focused lighting for reading something on my desk or photographing my T&E receipts (which is a big reason for my purchase).

Good lamp, nothing outstanding but that shouldn't be expected for the price. Don't buy if you're wanting to light a big area...it's not that kind of lamp. Buy if you need to light up a 20-inch radius on your desk or just want something to create a bit of light in a dark room.

This looks modern and doesn't take up much space. Very easy to assemble and ideal for a child's bedside lamp.

The Trademark LED worklight is a compact unit that puts out plenty of light. It also has features that make it very useful. For example, it has a hook that swivels in many directions making it easy to hang the light on something. It has two different lights. There is even a strong magnet on the back to attach the light to a metal surface. Get one of these for your car. When you need a light to find something you dropped in the dark of the night, this light will help you find it. It's great to have around the house, too. I can't say enough good things about this light. Get one and you will not be sorry you did. A very useful inexpensive light.

I'm very happy with this LED panel. I am using it as a dome light replacement in my Toyota pickup, which has one dome light. It is simply excellent in this application. It fits easily into the dome light diffuser and the compressible festoon adapter works some magic in the 31mm receptacle. It is significantly brighter than the previous 9-LED festoon light I had in there for the past few years, which in turn was noticeably brighter than the incandescent OEM bulb. I am completely satisfied with this. My only problem is figuring out where to put the second one of these I ordered.

To try to remove some subjectivity from this so future customers can get a sense of how bright this is, it illuminates the cab well enough to read with ease, anywhere -front seats, jumpseat area, even outside the door if your eyes are accustomed to dim light. It projects at 180° and thus isn't safe to flip on while driving. If you're wanting to replace reading lights near the dash, obtain a narrow-beam LED instead. Another consideration for how to use these is off-grid lighting, where it would help to light a small room -say 8x12 feet -brightly enough to see objects, avoid tripping, and read with some effort. Its power consumption is very slightly over 3W -measured at 0.26A.

The color temperature is a bit cool, in the 6500°K range. If you're wanting the yellow look of a heater that also gives off some light, this one will appear somewhat bluish to you. I'll gladly take that to have ample interior light that easily illuminates everywhere in the cab, not just a disappointing dim puddle directly below the dome.

As another reviewer mentioned, this panel runs cool enough (3W spread out over a couple square inches) that there's no risk to melting the dome light diffuser. I can hold it in my hand while it's running; it's a bit warm but nothing ridiculous. As a dome light, I simply set it facing downward on the diffuser and snapped it back in place. It comes with 3M double-stick foam backing, but I'm not using that in the dome light.

Update 2013-Apr-10: I finally got around to installing the second one in the camper top to replace the head-endangering interior incandescent strip light. I should have done this long ago. I stuck this LED panel to the ceiling of the camper top using the supplied tape, and it's working great. I put a switch in-line to complete the update. I'm pleased about this since it's so easy to position for specific tasks; in this case, it illuminates the tailgate so food prep, hand-washing and so on are easy.

The lights work great and after replacing all the lights in my RV with these LED's the amp's measured off the battery dropped by 70%. If using the slim line plug it is cheap will take a little work. 7 out of ten lights didn't work and required me to mess with the way the wires stick out of the plug to have it make contact. They are bright enough to read by and will extend my battery life from 2 to about 5 days.

I haven't had a chance to test these out in actual camping conditions, but they installed easily, seem to have the same brightness as the incandescent type, and amp draw is a fraction. Work fine parked in my driveway. Time will tell whether they work well in the long run.

It comes with a connector for 194 bulb sockets, festoon sockets, and I'm not sure what the last one is..T10?

Mine came with an adhesive backing on the panel.

Measure the space before buying to make sure it fits. It fit fine on my 97 chevy truck

Of my dozens of fancy flashlights, this is the one I use most.

All of the parts fit together tightly. No threading problems or

The LED is one of the brightest and most efficient available. You can get brighter flashlights, but most of them are using the same/similar LED with more power run to it, so it's just a matter of trading battery life for brightness. The 120 lumens rating is probably based on LED manufacturer specs. It is similar in output to a Surefire G2, which is plenty for almost any task.

The size is perfect. Much smaller than police-style flashlights, even though it has as much power. But it's not too small to hold.

The black finish is very durable. I carry it in my pocket with keys and other junk, and it still looks mostly new. It doesn't wear down like a Maglite or most cheaper LED flashlights.

The battery life is amazing. You can use a standard alkaline AA, but a lithium AA will be worth it for long-term use.

The front end has a perfectly clear glass lens and aluminum reflector, not plastic parts like cheaper flashlights.

Operation is also perfect. It has two general modes. In "Turbo" mode, set by simply keeping the flashlight screwed together, it always turns on at full power, and can be switched to strobe mode by double-tapping the button. "General" mode, set by unscrewing the head just slightly, offers a range of 3 brightness levels which can be cycled through by tapping the button multiple times. I always leave mine set to "turbo", as I prefer to just turn it on and off.

Other options...

Fenix PD20: Almost identical to the LD10, but it uses a short lithium CR123 battery and is 50% brighter (I have one of these, and I find that the LD10 is plenty small and bright)

Leatherman Serac-3: Not a bad flashlight for the price (about 10 bucks cheaper), but it always starts at low power, requiring 3 clicks to turn on fully each time. Not as bright as the LD10, but still very good.

The Fenix LD10 is similar to the Fenix L1T; both use a single AA battery to produce a stunning amount of light. The main differences are in modes and selecting them. The LD10 starts in either standard mode or turbo mode, depending on whether the front bezel is fully tightened or slightly loosened. In turbo mode you get the highest possible light (120 lumens), in standard mode it always starts in the lowest setting (9 lumens). Other modes have to be toggled by momentarily pressing the on/off switch. The L1T simply has two modes (98 lumens and 16 lumens), chosen by turning the bezel.

The on/off differs between the LD10 and L1T. The LD10 requires a complete push-to-click, then the light operates on release. The L1T comes on as you press the button, before the "click." This means that it's possible to press the L1T's button, get light, and release it to stop the light (momentary on/off), something the LD10 does not allow.

The LD10's toggling through modes also is a little annoying if you accidentally move from 120 lumens on turbo mode to strobe by pressing the button momentarily and not getting the button to "click."

Basically, if the slightly lower and higher modes and slightly longer promised operation of the LD10 are important, or if the LD10's ability to stand on its tail is necessary, get the LD10. If none of this is a key, the L1T is simpler to use and a bit smaller and lighter. Both are great flashlights. On high they light up a back yard better than a 5 D-cell traditional flashlight. Pairing either with the Fenix headband is a great way to have versatility and hands-free light when doing projects and such.

I was looking for a small flash light to carry on my person daily. I looked into several models, with surefire being the brand I was most interested in. After looking at the offerings from surefire, I decided to purchase the fenix ld10. I am very glad that I did for the following reasons:

1.) Size the surefire g2 led rated at 80 lumens is much larger than the LD10. The LD10 is very small and fits in my hand nicely. It is not bothersome or cumbersome to carry in a pocket.

2.) Battery type AA are inexpensive and easy to find.

3.) Price This flash light is very affordable, cheaper than the surefire g2, which is 2-3x it's size. It is also much cheaper than any surefire light which comes in a comparable size ( i believe the surefires in this size were ranging from $100-200, and used the more expensive battery type).

4.) Output it is sufficient for my use and I have no complaints (I am not a light expert however). I like the mode options on it (something the surefire(s) lack well some have modes but not as many as the Fenix).

Overall It's a great light that is small, affordable, and reliable. I am very pleased, I think it's tough to beat especially when comparing directly against the offerings from surefire.

Honest reviews on Fenix 6 Level High Performance Cree LED Flashlight, Black, 4-Inch

I purchased this flashlight to use for backpacking into the woods/mountains. I also purchased the wand diffuser to go over the end of the light. This has saved me so much weight compared to trying to find room in the pack for any sort of lantern. I love every thing about this system. Its small, lite, very bright, and will light up the entire campsite. Also good for late night prowlers around the camp (raccoons, bears, etc...) and will usually scare them off. I like the fact that I can use the light across the campsite and it still focuses the beam of light in a tight circle on your target. GREAT LIGHT. I decide to go with the single battery flashlight instead of the dual battery version just because i think I would rather only have to find 1 battery when it came time to replace them instead of two batteries. I try to make sure every piece of equipment I take will all use the same batteries(I don't want to carry multiple types of batteries). This thing is so bright that it will hurt you eyes if you look into it. Small and lightweight and still very tough. You won't be disappointed with this light.

I loved my first LD10 so much I bought a second ... now I just have to order the Fenix Headband for 18-22mm Flashlights (which will hold two LD10s) and I'm all set.

This light is bright ... very bright considering it runs on a single AA battery. I strongly recommend the purchase of Sanyo Eneloop 2 Pack AA NiMH Pre-Charged Rechargeable Batteries w/ Charger, unless you already have suitable rechargeable batteries on hand.

It is equipped for self-defense, with a crenulated bezel and a strobe mode that should disorient an attacker (strobe mode is also very useful for seriously irritating your spouse, s.o., etc.) The included holster is simple, but should meet any need; it has a plastic ring for clipping, a velcro belt-loop that appears to be MOLLE/PALS compatible, and a solid stitched belt-loop. My only very minor complaint is that the holster doesn't provide for horizontal belt carry.

The light is very well made, and should stand up to whatever abuse you throw at it. It appears to be well sealed against water, and has stood up well for me in rain and snow (though I haven't tested it by submersion).

Generally, 120 lumens is enough for most folks, for most lighting tasks. Unless you just want a brighter light for the heck of it (in which case, see Fenix TK40 High Performance Cree LED Flashlight, Maximum 630 Lumens), the only reason to get a larger light is for, um, "tactical" reasons (you know, the reasons that made the monster Mag Lites popular).

Bottom line: a fantastic, ultra bright, ultra compact, self-defense worthy, reliable light, very suitable for daily carry in your pocket, purse, backpack, briefcase, or for keeping in your glovebox for an emergency. Everyone in my family is getting one for Christmas 2011 ;)

Oh, and the Fenix AD401 Headlight Diffuser Lens for L1D, L1T, L2T, L2D, P2D, P3D, LD10, LD20, PD20, PD30 & HP10 Flashlights/Headlamps fits this light, though I wasn't very impressed with it. It'll do if you have a specific need, though. Fenix also offers the following accessories for this light:

Fenix Flashlights Red Filter

Fenix Flashlights White Diffuser Wand

Fenix Flashlights Red Diffuser

As well as other goodies, such as traffic wands, further enhancing the versatility of this light.

Bought two of these. So I had 4 pro comp lights ontop of my jeep, two silver star headlights, and two of these on the bumper. These blew away all of those pro comps. Very very bright. They go far also. Lights up everything. I'd expect them to be $150 lights. Definitely buying more.

Was expecting brighter. My Cree XML flashlight is brighter with one LED. There OK but that's about it, good as maybe backup light. Would not overpower my crappy stock headlights on an old 95 4WD Suburban. Was thinking of using them as auxiliary light on the side car of my Ural but not bright enough to see much of the road ahead at speed.

Note: Just noticed the "Cree TYPE led" statement in the add.

These lights are great, that's why I got the spool, so I give it 4 stars except for the fact buying them on spools TAKES WORK. I wasn't prepared to have to do my own cutting on this spool, for some strange reason I thought they'd come prefabbed while still on the spool. I guess anything you buy on a spool should come with some expectation of having to cut and splice them yourself (like cat5).

So keep that in mind before you buy unless you want a 20foot strip of the lights somewhere specific :-)

Enjoy!

After getting this unit, I was a little disappointed that is wasn't very bright and the colors were washed out and not very vibrant. I've since bought a few sets off ebay for 1/2 the cost of these. They are identical in every way. Ebay has them for less than half the cost, no point in getting these.

Expensive. yes. Does it work well, yes. I used it for under counter in my kitchen and it is a nice addition. I would not use it for reading, but it is medium light level and very even. I thought I would use the colors more, but white is my preferred use. I use it daily as I like a mood lighting light light anyway. The tape, although 3M, needed reinforcement in a couple of places because the connectors are heavier, no problem, just have some extra 2 sided tape around when doing the install. I have a window in between, so I needed extra wire and lights. I like it.

The description (I felt) was a little ambiguous. It implies that the strip can be cut at intervals. I assumed that a 4 pin connector would be able to be inserted and one of the interval cables used. Not so, unless you know a lot about wiring. Once you cut it, it's done. Having said that, I have the 1 foot intervals installed in my kitchen, and the lighting is great.

I love this to light the back yard for our dogs when they go out at night. It took a couple of days for the battery to charge up in the weak sun of my locale, and often does not work after a few rainy days due to the lack of light. Mine broke due to a strong wind. See photos I posted. The cheap plastic in the pivot hinge broke. I fixed it with duct tape. I would recommend the manufacturer look into stronger materials or larger pivot hinge that will not break with above average wind. If it were not for the ease of breaking I would have given it five stars.

This time I will cover the lamp and will update my review.

We've been very happy with this light! Good price, great lumen output, good motion detecting sensitivity, and great reliability so far. We have had this for about a year and have had no LEDs burn out, and no issues at all with this! Not to mention a very easy install. My solar panel has stayed put exactly where I've angled it. We have ours in the back yard, and I'm about to buy another one for our driveway!

Honest reviews on XEPA XP645D Solar-Powered Security Light with 45 LED Lights

The price on this unit is pretty good for what you get. However, the solar collector unit is poorly designed. There is no tensioning screw on the ball hinge, so the collector panel does not stay in place at an angle facing skyward. The added weight of the cable that is wire-tied to the solar collector (at the manufacturer's recommendation) only makes this worse.

Got this for my folks the Philippines. It works perfectly! Even if it only gets direct sunlight after lunch (because of the shadow cast by the house in the morning), it serves its purpose to light the garage at night.

Only comment is the sensor should have been better if its on a ball-type adjustment. it only moves horizontally. Nonetheless, im happy with the energy and light capacity.I'll definitely buy some more.

Contemporary light with easy installation. Works beautifully, wish bulbs were included. Just above the chromed flat plate where the light mounts to ceiling those vertical sides are not chromed so it is a small finishing detail that may bother some. My light is in a small master closet so you don't see the light from a far angle to notice. I added a dimmer switch which adds to the lights functionality.

This is a solid well built light!!!! I've had it for about a month and use it just about every day. It's rugged enough to use on construction sites and take the abuse. I like the focusable beam that's always helpful whether I'm working in a dark ceiling or looking into tight places. I've used other CREE lights that I think have the T6 lamp. They are super bright but create a lot of heat and burn through batteries. This one is more than bright enough and probably lasts 3x longer. It also doesn't get as hot!! Another point worth mentioning is the seller is very responsive to any issues. I had some missing parts and the seller promptly sent them out. There are some things that are beyond their control. This was a Amazon issue and had nothing to do with them. The seller also sent a wealth of information on how to use the light. Even a thank you message for my purchase!! I haven't used the diffuser but it looks like a great idea for it's intended purpose. The holster is good enough to hold the light and rugged enough to take a little abuse. No issues sliding the light in and out. You can slide it on a belt to make it more secure. I wouldn't rely on the snap to hold it. I would recommend getting the lithium ion larger battery. The light comes with a extension piece to accommodate this. You can buy them here on Amazon. They last longer than the AA's. Mine claims to have 4000mAh of power. Most of them come with two batteries and a charger. I change the battery just about every week or if needed. I notice the light starts to flicker a bit when it's time. So far, I've never run out of power. This is a very good light that should last quite a while!!!

I ordered this flashlight last week and I fell absolutely in love with it. The shipping was amazing and it got here extremely fast. I love how you can either use a rechargeable Lithium battery or use 3 AAA's. The flashlight is so sturdy and really built solid. When I first turned on the flashlight, I was amazed!! It is by far the brightest flashlight I have ever seen, and I am a firefighter/EMT on an ambulance, we use some pretty bright flashlights. The flashlight is extremely bright during the daytime and you can still see the beam 50+ feet away in pure daylight. When it comes to night time, its no contest at all. The beam extends 250+ meters just like it says in the description. I was able to light up an entire area of woods with this bad boy on its wides flood setting and was able to get the longest spot light beam i've ever had with a flashlight. The distance this beam can travel is ridiculously amazing and I would 100000% recommend this flashlight to anyone. The button and functions are very easy to use and the quality is impeccable. I guarantee you, look no further, this is the flashlight that you have been looking for. The price was amazing and I literally don't have a single complaint about this flashlight. No regrets at all. Completely love it and use it everyday.

I highly recommend this flashlight to anyone for your EDC, and for flashlight addicts as well.

I'm a big fan of Festool,so when this came on the market I had to have it. Over the years I've collected literally dozens of LED flashlights, portable florescent lights, etc. etc. While the technology constantly improves, none were really adequate for portable applications where intense light is required. This SYSLITE puts out more light than a half-dozen of my larger flashlights. If it weren't for the color balance issue, you might be able to make a movie with these things. I don't know what's different about the dozen or so LEDs that the SYSLITE uses, but they're *bright*. This has become my go-to portable light.

The internal battery pack lasts for a few hours of sustained use. Festool claims "up to 4 hours" and i have no reason not to believe it based on my experience it's hard to verify as the battery is usually not in fully charged state when put into use. There is an optional Festool auxilliary battery pack that extends this I didn't get the aux battery as the built-in battery does well enough for what i do. The package comes with both a car charging adapter and an AC adapter as well and is neatly packaged in a well-made tough carrying case. It also has a hanging hook, and this was really clever in my view the plastic case has different angles on the bottom, left and right sides so that you have 3 choices when you set it down on the direction of light angle (swath is 170degrees accdg to owners manual). Typical of Festool, the SYSLITE package is a class act and the price reflects that.

I'm entirely satisfied. If you need a bright, portable light that will fit in the palm of your hand this is worth considering. Recommended

These units may seem pricey until you look at the alternatives, which give up one or more of the following design goals:

Excellent performance

Just the right size

18W of quality LED chips

Temperature/battery monitoring

Integral LiIon battery

Ability to accept standard Festool/Protool LiIon batteries

Ruggedized

3 year warranty, even for commercial use

Made in Germany by a company with a long history

120V and 12V charging adapters included

Nice zippered case

I bought two of these SysLites and find them incredibly handy very much "grab-n-go" with nothing to set up. I get the advertised 90 minutes on high and 4 hours on low. I tested with a 3Ah 14.5V LiIon pack from my Festool C15 drill and got over ten hours on low, in addition to the 4 more hours that could be then had on the internal battery. So, these will be useful for emergency preparedness as well as camping, where they could be recharged from the car. They will also run and charge simultaneously for unlimited runtime if a power source is nearby. On HIGH setting the top and bottom ends of the case (which seem to be metal) do get moderately warm, which is to be expected for a properly cooled LED lamp design the chips must not be allowed to overheat, or they won't last.

So far I've used these for running CAT-5 under the house. They have been indispensable in the crawl space and attic. They are also perfect when working inside the kitchen sink cabinet. It impressed me how good illumination makes work less stressful, and therefor you will find yourself more relaxed, less hurried, and making fewer mistakes. Not bad for the price of admission.

What else could you use that meets those design goals? There are some video/photography LED lights that come close, but they're about the same price, if not more. I've learned over the years to not waste time on cheap LEDs they are often overdriven for brightness while lacking appropriate heat-sinks, so they eventually burn out. I trust Festool to have sourced quality LED chips, drive them within spec, and keep them cool. What more could one ask for?

UPDATE 4/11/13

These lights (I have two) continue to impress. They been dropped, dragged through grit, and left on until they shut themselves off. They are no worse for the wear... very good rugged design on the part of Festool. I have recently had the opportunity to compare the Syslight to another non-portable LED light with adjustable color. After adjusting the other 600 lumen output unit to match the Syslight, I'd say the Syslight was a smidge brighter. This would put the Syslight somewhere more than 600 lumens, but probably less than 1200 (since it takes a doubling of lumens to have a significant perception of increased brightness lumens are not linear). Since the Syslight directs its output in a 180-degree hemisphere, rather than a 360-degree sphere as a lightbulb would, it makes excellent use of its output for task lighting. I'd say then it is similar to a BR30 wide flood 75W, daylight corrected incandescent, but in a compact, rugged, cordless package.

Mounted on a tripod and connected to its charger, one of these lights serves as a wall-wash/desk lamp in my office. The light quality blends nicely with what comes in from the north facing bank of windows.

The tool came in a timely manner and in great condition. I charged it over night and took it to work the next day to review the interior of a burnt home. As we all know, the soot is a light sucker, there is no reflecting the light, it simply hits the wall and stops there. I found this light to be a great tool to see in these conditions, with it's wide funnel of light and bright white output. Where I got disappointed was with the built in battery life. Festool estimates up to 4 hours on the built in battery. What they didn't say was that this would be on low. What I encountered was after an hour on high in this burnt home, that the built in battery was already drained to the point of the light shutting it's self off. I found the light easy enough to grasp in my hand, but a strap of some sort would be greatly appreciated, perhaps one that would fit over your wrist and also act as a band across the back of your hand, so as to sandwich your hand between the light and the strap. Included was a wall charger and cord, and also a car charger (good thinking there Festool). Overall it is a good tool with great output, the switch is in a good spot even. My disappointment is with the built in battery life and no strap. Overall I would buy this tool again.

I have several lights from Makita and Milwaukee that use the tool batteries. I have been very pleased with them but they are not flood lights and cannot light up a large area with a real usable type of light. I have a few FESTOOLS and they are all very impressive. So I assumed the light would be worth the rather high price. It is. It casts an incredible amount of light in a large even pattern. It is small and very easy to handle and designed so when you put it down it is easy to set it in a good position. I am not aware of anything else that comes close. For those that cannot get over the price, compare this to some of the small, excellent flashlights from Surefire and Streamlight.

I looked at all the portable handheld lights from all the big supply houses. Almost all of them we're less than half the price. I needed a light that would work great underneath the bathroom vanity where I was installing some 3 hole faucets. So I said to myself "how many times in my life have I wasted $175 on crap ? " Well more than I care to admit for sure. So I went and got this light and I been feeling less guilty every day since I got it. I must say it's really great. Underneath the vanity it lays on it's back in the corner by your shoulder and with the low setting it's plenty of light-just right. Very white bright light even on low. On high it is so bright that during the day I shined it on my wife and she yelled at me; yea it's that bright. It's really made all my flashlight's(including the Streamlight's) obsolete. Positives are wide even light. Can run off it's recharge cord. Also has a 12 volt charge cord for the car. There is a nice case included but I wish it we're a little bigger; you can never rap the cords up as tight as when you unpack it new. On the negative side is the price of course which is the only reason I didnt give it 5 stars. You get a few hours of use on low with a full charge, and right before it goes out it will dim a little, then it goes out about 30 seconds after that. You don't want to be in the crawl space under the house and have it run out on you, but it would be perfect for that kind of job. If you needed to change a tire at night also nothing better. Overall I give this unit a "kick ass" rating which from me is way up there. Just buy it and skip a few meals eating out and you'll be a happy camper with this light.

Someone recommended this headlamp to me as an inexpensive but durable light. It is very much brighter than I expected, and has two modes: a "spot" mode for trail illumination and seeing far away, and a "Superbright" mode for flood lighting and reading or seeing around the camp site. The light quality is very good, with a bluish hue from the Superbrights and a yellower hue from the spot light. Each mode has 3 brightness settings to conserve energy, and a flashing setting for emergencies. I have not used it in the rain yet, but it does say in the instructions that it works with water spray from all angles, and does not stop working even when water gets in the battery compartment. The headband is very soft and stretchy, and the light weighs only about 3 oz. when the batteries are installed. Overall, a very good little light for the money.

I have owned this headlamp for 6 months. I use it at my mountain cabin where it is sometimes pitch dark. I cannot say enough good things about how it brightens the night. I use the low setting for around the campfire or for house hold chores. The high setting single beam throws light clearly for about 80 yds. I use it for night hiking. Some headlights reflect down into the eyes of the user this one does not. I am buying a few more of these as I have need in my car and around the home, it is 1000x better than a flashlight. Great unit!!!

I had to purchase a light to run in a night run over the 4th of July weekend. I never had used a light in the past, and wasn't quite sure what to expect. When I opened the package, I was initially disappointed because I thought the light was a little heavy, and that the headband wouldn't hold the light in place very well. Fortunately, the Cosmo proved me very wrong. The light stays in place extremely well (never had to adjust it during 5 1/2 hours of use), it is light enough that you quickly forget it's there, and it does a good job of lighting the trail in front of you. The light intensity adjustment is a little subtle, but when you figure it out, it's easy. I'm very glad I purchased this, as it should come in handy for things other than running. Great product!

Honest reviews on Black Diamond Cosmo Headlamp

it basically gets 4 and 1/2 stars.....everything i like about it....the only semi-flaw is that the switching system is a bit on the complicated side....i have finally gotten comfortable with the 1/2 clicks [to put it into economy mode]....which is basically all i really need to know to get by.....but i still have no idea how or why i can switch to the spot or the flood....laugh at me....go ahead i don't mind.....i just wonder why it has to be complicated at all!

this is a totally minor minor complaint....and probably the majority has had no problem at all with this and the switching system is a dream come true for them......

buy it....so much better than anything Petzal who i will never buy again....my goddess you can spend 30 or more dollars on a headlight with a plastic latch that barely works! now that is ridiculous....

This is a great headlamp. The different settings allow you to maximize battery life while getting the lighting that you need for a specific situation. At full power, this light is definitely really powerful. Fitting the batteries in can be challenging the first few times, but once you're used to it, it's just fine. It is pretty comfortable to wear, and somewhat light. (you can probably find much lighter but it won't be the same price...). The manufacturer claims that it is waterproof I did not check that per say, but it is definitely splash proof: did not have any problem of water getting in after using it in the rain for few hours. In summary, a nice little headlamp at a decent price, from a reputable brand. What else to ask for? Oh yes: I wish it came with a protective case...

My brother is an electrician and recommended this unit for one simple reason, none of the other remote systems let you turn on and off the fan/light when the main switch is off. Example if you leave a room and turn off the switch on the wall then re enter the remote won't work again until you get up and turn the main wall switch on again. This is a high end unit, nothing cheap about it. Looks sharp and works perfectly. If you are going to add a remote to your fan/light spend the extra money you'll be glad you did. Installing the remote module is no different than any other unit, and installing the switch is easy. I'm already ordering another one for my bedroom. One thing to consider is if your switch is in a box with 2 or more switches you'll need a new decora style cover plate, they are very cheap at the hard ware store.

My son bought me one of these for Christmas, and I loved it so much I had to buy another one. This is perfect for relaxation at night... plug in some good "mood music" and drift off to sleep...

I also love that it can be charged by EITHER solar power or battery. I live in the Pacific Northwest, where we rarely get any sunshine, especially in the winter, so this works great! The only drawback... the battery doesn't last for more than a few nights at a time, so I need to use it sparingly.

The ad for this is slightly incorrect in that you only need ONE AA battery, not two... there is a rechargeable battery also included, but according to the user guide, should rarely if ever need changing.

All in all, I am very happy with this!!!

Didn't note any quality issues like the previous reviewer, having inspected it closely.

Has On/Off/Battery Power settings.

Cons:

Fireflys are yellow when they light up at night, these lights are white though accurately depicted in the picture. Also, the lights wink on and off much more slowly than real fireflys. Lastly, like most solar lanterns this product is unsuited to leave outside for extended periods. It will rust and the jar will fill with water. I kept it in the front window for months and it was fine then it deteriorated to junk within a month of displaying it outdoors.

Still an excellent product.

I got one of these lights from bzzagent.com. I did notice fingerprints inside the glass when I got it out of the box, but once I put it in its intended place, it didn't matter. I put it on my porch with other lights that go on in the evening and it sparkles! The lights are blueish white, which I prefer over yellow. The on/off switch is a nice touch as some other solar lights don't have one and have to be used ONLY in the dark. This light can be used in higher light situations as well as dark. Nice for a twilight dinner or a kids' room with a lamp on. The lid screws off easily to use the switch. The wire handle is study but reminiscent of a mason jar lantern. Overall, I love this light and plan on buying more.

Honest reviews on Dreamlights Magical Flickering Lights Jar

This is a really cool looking light. I love how the small lights fade in and out.

HOWEVER, plan on putting in a AA battery and run only off of that. The solar power recharge is useless, it works for minutes if at all.

If you dont mind using batteries then go for it. Its such a great idea that its a shame the solar power portion doesnt work very well.

My daughter ordered this item, and was very excited when it arrived. We read all instructions, charged it, then enjoyed it the first evening. After that it never lit up again. We re-read the instructions, changed a setting, tried again, and, still, it never lit up again. She was so disappointed it broke my heart. Now I'm going to order another one to replace it and just hope it works for her.
