Discount Lights of America 00030 - LOA2630BC (FCL30EX-L) Circular T9

This bulb goes in a circular light fixture purchased from either Lowes or Home Depot about 8 years ago. Neither store still carries this brand of "Lights of America" replacement bulbs. At first, I brought home one Home Depot's stock T9 bulbs thinking it would fit. It did not! It was about a half inch too small to fit the brackets in the Lights of America light fixture. Wasted gas and time to bring it back!!! Since the light is no good without a workable light bulb I checked Amazon.com and found they are available. Although it cost a few bucks more, it was shipped promptly and installed, and worked perfectly. I have another identical light light at the end of my hallway at the head of the stairs which will also probably need a replacement tube soon. Now that I know they fit, work, and where to get them. Cheaper and quicker than buying a new fixture and installing it!

I have used this bulb for over a 2 months now. As the review title suggests, all important aspects of an LED flood light are just perfect. It replaced a CFL which was bright enough for my application, but had a lag from turning on to full brightness. Needless to say, LED bulbs don't have this drawback. At 26W, this is a very powerful LED bulb, which just happens to be perfectly suited for the location I'm using it in. It is placed over a staircase of my condo, illuminating the stairs, the upstairs hallway, the laundry area, and also adding some brightness to the living room downstairs. One thing that yet to remains to be seen is the life span of this bulb; but should it expire prematurely I'll be sure to update my review. Over all could not be happier.

Best Deals for Kobi Electric LED 26-watt (120 watt) R40 Cool White Light Bulb

First of all, this review is about LED lights with 5000K color temperature.

The 5000K color temperature is the closest to daylight color. Anything less than 5000K, like the old incandescent lights that have around 2700K-3000K, will produce distorted muddy colors. You can find some pictures on the web comparing lights of different color temperatures.

In any case, once you try good 5000K bulb you may not want to go back to 2700K.

Just as a joke, I refer to 2700K bulbs as mud lights. You can find great article about color temperature on Wikipedia at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_temperature.

Note that 5000K color temperature bulbs are less common and harder to find. This is mainly due to industry catering to poorly informed consumers. They are selling lower temperature bulbs as having "warm" color as if that is good or better. The "warm" terminology was coined long time ago by marketing people in order to help selling bulbs that could not produce better (higher) color temperatures than 2500K-3000K.

Now lets look at the 5000K Kobi Electric LED-R40-26W1600-50ND bulb:

The Kobi Electric R40 LED bulb rated at 1600 lumen and 5000K is one of the the best flood bulbs in PAR38 size class that you can buy in 2013.

The only close competitor is Philips PAR38 flood bulb (Philips 425280 19.5-Watt (75-Watt) PAR38 LED 5000K Indoor Flood Light Bulb). However, Philips bulb has lower light output of 1300 lumen and narrower beam angle. The wider angle of Kobi R40 is more suitable for recessed lighting in rooms with standard ceiling height.

The Kobi R40 bulb fits in 6" recessed light fixture. However, adjust the height of bulb socket in the fixture before tightening the bulb or you may not be able to remove the bulb.

The Kobi R40 bulb has excellent light color of 5000K and very good color rendition index (CRI).

Also, at $30 it was less expensive than the Philips PAR38 bulb at $44.

By the way, marketing people are trying to sell LED's based on power consumption in Watts. That is not very important specification. More important is the light output in Lumens. Just compare the light bulbs with same power rating and you will find out that the light output may vary widely.

Philips Ledino products don't seem to get many reviews on Amazon, but that hasn't stopped me from buying a cross-section of their products (from table and floor lamps to hard-wired fixtures). Although Amazon sometimes has trouble shipping lamps without them arriving broken (at least they're good at arranging returns), I've been very happy with every Ledino product I've purchased.

How happy? Well, I've now purchased four of the 37344 table lamps alone. (Three for home, one for the office.) Occasionally the price drops by a healthy amount on Amazon, and that's a good time to pull the trigger.

This table lamp exudes quality -the aluminum base has a solid feel to it and the cylinder of glass floating towards the top is beautiful and elegant. The LED lights have a nice, slightly warm color temperature. The materials and fit and finish make the whole lamp seem like a piece of art. It's a modern piece of art, so if you're not into contemporary design, this might not be for you. One of the things I like most about this lamp is that it throws out light without glare. The diffused light is aimed downwards (and it throws a lot of light), with some light shining out the glass sides. You don't see bright light shining out of it.

Is it expensive? Yes, but the materials and workmanship make it feel like it should cost more. It sips power and doesn't get very hot at all. Freed from the incandescent bulb, LED lights are allowing designers to get very creative with the form factor of lamps and lights. This lamp demonstrates that with an exclamation mark.

I've been looking for a longer life and lower power option for the ceiling bulbs in my home theater. They are very hard to access for replacement and the acoustical padding I have for the theater tends to make the cans get hotter than one would like.

I bought two of these bulbs to try in the theater and have been very pleased with the performance and the light characteristics. As the rest of my bulbs burn out, I will be replacing them with these.

I thought great this comes three to a package and they last a while. NOT. Ordered May 10. I actually bought the ceiling fan, and had it installed by an electritian in March and the bulb died in April I thought okay something must have been wrong with the bulb. Tried to find a replacement and the only place I found them was here on amazon.com. Ordered this on May 10 got it several days later. it is July 16 and the bulb died on July 12. I am so tired of these energy efficient bulbs that are supposed to last for years on end and only last a couple of months. I mean really two months and this thing is dead again??

Give me back my incandescent lights, box of four for 96 cents that last all year long. I now have the ceiling fan, four target lights a desk lamp and a standing lamp in my office with these new fangled bulbs where once there was one ceiling fan with four 40 watt bulbs and that gave more light then the lot of these.....oh and when I really need to see, I have to open the closet door and turn those lights towards the desk. Don't even get me started on those. 7.99 each bulbs that should last five years that I have replaced all three-three times each and it's still 2012!

The bars could use a few more, yet smaller LED's for a more uniformed color. While adding an interesting look, most 50" style TV's will probably need more than 2 bars for the right "look", additionally the connectors are somewhat flimsy. Out of the box my connection to the power adapter is loose and the slightest vibration will cause it to lose power.

i was looking for LED's and came across these. they were way cheaper than equivalently spec'd higher end models.

I must say, this light has stood up really well for me. I mounted it as a rear facing unit on top of my roll bar facing into the tray of my van(pickup). that way i could get lighting when i reverse as well as use it as a work light when doing stuff in the tray. it is really bright and casts a wide beam. has taken the weather well, the housing didn't wear or loose colour. only the bolts got a bit of rust over time which is expected. i ran a wire to the positve of the battery and then just tied the neutral into the mounting bolt of the light itself on the roll bar (one less wire to run) and then used a 5 amp fuse and a switch. I didn't tie it into my reverse wiring as I use it a lot for aux. lighting as well.

great light and good quality for a reasonable price. paid about 59 dollars or so for it at that time.

I was really happy to see how bright this thing is. LEDs have been put everywhere in the world, and finally they're bright enough to be used in portable work lights! I literally have nothing to gripe about. It gets similarly warm as a halogen does, but only uses 63-watts instead of something like this 1000-Watt Twin-Head Work Light.

The hinges let it point up or down, and the body of the light feels very durable. Knowing that i won't have to replace another bulb makes this work light worth its weight in gold.

This is not 1200 lumens, but 1000 as it states clearly on the box if it matters to your decision. Otherwise might rate 4 stars. Will pretty much scorch your eyeballs though. So far it seems to be a very usable tool especially for indoor work. Stays cool.

No it's not likely 1600 lumen, but it is not adding 20 degrees to your room temperature, either.

And there is the curious sticker on it that says, right under Made In China, "Not For Use In Dwellings". (See photo)

But then it doesn't use fragile bulbs. We've all broken work light bulbs, right? Then what? You got a spare anywhere close? Probably not. Having just gotten the thing I don't know how fragile it might be, time and other reviewers here will tell.

It's got more than enough light for me, but how to demonstrate? I uploaded some indoor photos at night, just a slight light from a hall and this L1315.

It's a little pricy, but if I don't ever have to change a bulb and it doesn't make for added sweat, I'm happy with it. I'll just have to find something else to keep lunch warm.

I received the first unit dead on arrival, so I used Amazon's fantastic return policy to replace the item. I received the second item two days later, and used it for approximately five hours. The unit suddenly flashed very bright for .5 seconds, and then it dimmed to about 20% of it's original brightness. My single LED AAA headlamp (with an old battery) was brighter than this light after it stopped functioning as promised. Again, I am using amazon's return policy.

I'm happy with Amazon, but the light is not worth the tape I used to seal the box and send it back.

I use this for working on my classic Impala and it lights up the entire interior night or day! It is 2x brighter then my old 300 watt halogen lights but with almost no heat. The old lights would cook me and my interior within 20 minutes not to mention the 3rd degree burns if I touched the wrong part of the frame. This one is very light and stays cool to the touch. The plastic lens heats up a bit after the light has been on for like an hour but not even enough to burn. HIGHLY recommend!

I really could have gone with a 5 but i decided on a 4 because the goose-neck is very stiff. This is a well built lamp and being LED it is cool, a big plus as it is easy to get burned on a standard bulb goose-neck work light.

PROs: sturdy clamp, long cord, long goose neck arm, two brightness settings, top lamp swivel, stays cool.

CONs: goose neck is very stiff (bears saying twice), wish it was brighter but i knew what i was getting and its not bad.

I have 2 of the 8000 lights and 4 of these new 9000 lights. Great lights, they use very little energy which is important in our shop. The bendable arm and swivel head allow you to position it anywhere. LED's tend to be spotty, they are tough to get a good flood light out of them. These lights are best used for detail work. My only issue with the new 9000 light is they now have two switches, one on the base to turn the power on and off and one switch on the light head to switch between hi and low. I'd rather of had one switch that rocked between three positions, off, low and high. It's just a little confusing in our shop since we go between the 8000 and 9000 series of lights. Small critique for a great light, you won't be sorry.

Doesn't put off a whole lot of light by itself. It's a single LED attached to some sort of plastic that diffuses it throughout the room. It doesn't put off much light, but at two bucks a piece, and hardly any electricity, these are great!

These look like miniature flourescent lights very white and sufficently bright. Other LED night lights light up only the immediate few feet of space, but these ones light up enough to navigate a small to medium room. The do turn on even in medium light, so you can plan for them to be on pretty much most of the day. But LEDs have long life and low current draw, so it shouldn't be putting a dent on the electric bill.

I use this great night light to light up from behind a translucent litter box for my cats. It is night a bright night light, so if you want something to light up a room, try something brighter. For the purpose intended, though, I'll stick with this one. The light is a soft blue color.

I picked up a pack of these because my 7 yr old son wanted a nightlight in his room, and our drapes and blinds do such a good job of keeping out outside light that it's pitch-black at night. I don't demand much of a nightlight: It has to put out enough light so that I don't trip over cats, toys, or my own feet. These lights definitely do the job. I just ordered 2 more sets, so I can have at least one light in each room of my house, for the odd late-at-night wander-through. I recommend it if you just want a simple nightlight.

The bulb on our vacuum had been dead for some time. Rather than track down a Sears and cough up some $5+, we decided to take a chance on this bulb. It fits perfectly and comes out at half the price even with shipping! For the curious, we are using it for Kenmore replacement bulb 20-5240.

Although the bulb fit, it burned out within a week of use. Might have been a bad bulb or might just not be designed for the vibrations of brush.

I ordered two to have a spare for my Kenmore vacuum. It's a good thing because the first one blew right away. I think it's because we didn't seat the bulb correctly. The second one worked, but it is not as bright as the one which came with the vacuum.
