Bought two of these.... kids loved them. But they left them on overnight and barely light up now. A good stocking stuffer though!

I received this in a fairly timely fashion considering how far it was shipped. It's light weight, changes colors and the kids love it. I'm going to order more because really you can't have enough of them with kids around. Great to keep in their room so they can grab them and use them as little lights to get to the bathroom at night. Also really cool for a relaxing bath if you have more than one! I turn them on and put them all around the bathroom, it's pretty neat. Only thing is they run on watch batteries which are kind of a pain to change but that's not to terrible. Will definitely buy again!

I installed this flood light in my back yard to light up along the house. It was an easy install because I already had a light that I was replacing with this. It works great, not to bright. I bought this one becasue I have no need for a sensor or dusk-till-dawn light, so this is perfect. Plus it looks great and is small and out of the way.

Bought 2 for the mud room for front and back doors to replace existing lights. Does a pretty good job and the price was right. Went with the bronze look to blend with the brownish wood siding and like the compact design. Bulb replacement looks easy rotate housing half turn comes right off and bulb just plugs-in with 2 prongs. Not sure the cost or how easy to find replacement bulbs at local hardware store.

If you have respect for your neighbors drop the traditional flood lights and go with these. Solid construction great light focus. Several adjustments to get the light where its needed. The lips on the top shield the light from going up and out to free your neighbors to enjoy the dark.

Honest reviews on Lithonia OFTR 200Q 120 LP BZ M12 Designer Adjustable Twin Head

Long story short...

Poorly constructed from some kind of cast metal (cracks very easily)

When trying to finish my install the screw that holds the whole unit to the wall (yes only one) cracked the metal casing with my chuck on 5 lbs of force... seriously. That means a 7 year old could screw this in hard enough to crack it...

also its not even water proof you have to caulk around it in order to seal it... no rubber O-ring provided... again cheap

Now out 30 bucks, and went to home depot where you can get a flood light for 15 bucks that is more sturdy

This light does what it is supposed to do as a security light. You can adjust the sensitivity and how long it stays on after it detects motion, but also you can leave them on. If you are having an outdoor party and want to leave the lights on, you can do that. You simply flip the switch off, wait three seconds, then flip it back on again and that changes modes. So you can leave them off all night to sleep (but they come on if they detect motion. Or you can have them stay on all night (or until your outdoor activity is over). The brightness and whiteness of the light is very bright and looks amazing. Also it uses less electricity than regular floods. Pretty cool light!

Honest reviews on 2-head LED Security Light Motion-sensing Flood Light/floodlight

I installed 2 of these fixture for my home. they work great. light is very bright ...maybe a little harsh to look at...DON'T LOOK AT IT!!

..They both work well with the Censer it took a little time for proper adjustment but worth the time.

I replaced two twin 150 watt halogens and these are almost as bright. The halogens bulbs are a pain to replace and they don't last that long.

Fixture will pay for them selves with energy savings.

UPDATE 7-14-13

I changed the rating from a 5 star to 3 star here is why

ONE OF THE TWO FIXTURES started to pulse or strobe..not sure why. tried re-adjusting setting to no avail .I E mailed the company and am waiting to hear back from them.

This will be the final determining factor on my recommendations for this product.

Updated 10-15-13

Had to return one back to COSCO, the MFG would not get involved in a return or trade in.

The whole idea was to make life easier with this light but it turned into a project and aggravation.

I would not buy another one and hope the 2nd one I own holds up.

I've been looking for a good lamp for awhile and ultimately decided to purchase this lamp after some research and reading other reviews. As a student and night owl, this lamp is pretty perfect. Breakdown:

Aesthetic Features:

Pristine white hard plastic. The design is a modern sleek look. The base is sturdy so that the lamp will not easily knock/tip over. The lamp was very easily put together when it came out of the box and I couldn't find any scratches or faulty parts from the get go. I really like the clean design.

Light Features:

The lamp is touch based which I really like and it works pretty well. Very nicely lit and the touchpad has a soft low in case you need to find it at night. It has 4 basic settings

Sleep/Bedtime mode

It's a soft orange warm glow. I like to use it for the wee hours of morning when I wake up for whatever reason when the sun isn't fully out yet. It doesn't hurt my eyes like other lights do.

Relaxation Mode

This is a step brighter than the sleep mode. A brighter orange/yellow if you will. I actually like to switch between this and the reading mode for reading depending on how tired my eyes are.

Reading Mode

The light shade is more of a white glow. I do use it to read but I often switch between this and the relaxation mode just because sometimes I prefer the more orange/yellow glow over the white glow.

Study Mode

This is a very bright white light compared to the reading mode. I pretty much use it late at night when I really want to get a lot of work done. I don't know if it's the cast of the glow but I feel like it's a more "serious" light if you will. The orange glows are more home-y/cozy and makes me more relaxed.

I get a lot of headaches and migraines so I really enjoy the different light settings on this lamp as it's easier on my eyes from what I've been able to tell. On top of the different modes, you can easily adjust for a higher/lower brightness on each setting A++.

Extra:

I really like that the power button is lit when the lamp is off so in the middle of the night I know where to clumsily touch and not just feel out my cluttered desk and drop things. There's also a USB port I can use to charge my iPhone. YAY!

I was between just getting the other lamp this company makes without the tilting head and this one but after reading an informative review stating that they wished the head of the lamp would tilt, I just bit the bullet and went with the newer version. The titling head is perfect!!! I keep the lamp on the edge of my desk, and I just swivel it, adjust the head so I can read on my bed since my desk is right next to my bed.

I just received this last night and was very pleased with the look, construction, flexibility and light options. I used it to replace a small halogen lamp on my home office desk which has a desktop computer with pullout keyboard shelf. The lamp is easily adjustable so it fits the desk very well. The best part is that the arm is secured to the base through a large hole with a plastic nut. It can be rotated about 270 degrees. This is the key to making it fit anywhere i want. The lighting options are great and it lights up the entire desk as well as the keyboard. Now my wife wants one for her craft table. Definitely worth the price!

Honest reviews on Softech - Natural Light Smart LED Desk Lamp with Tilting Head -White

We're thrilled with this desk lamp, for its variable color temperatures and intensities, plus the tilting head. The tilt feature permits canting the light head slightly away from you to avoid glare. This appears to be the key difference between this lamp and a less expensive non-tilting lamp also available on Amazon.

Too early to tell if the LEDs will last their estimated 40,000 hour lifetime, which certainly figures in to the value proposition for this lamp. But unless I missed something in other reviews, there have been no reports of premature failure.

I bought 3 of these sconces for my garage(s), but they are so beautiful I decided to install them indoors instead. My house was built in 1992 and is full of ugly, dated sconce lights. Okay...first, the "lighthouse" portion of the light isn't red...it's just clear plastic, so it doesn't look anything like the image when it's off.

When it's on, the red LED shines through the clear plastic. Doesn't produce much light at all, though.

Description says that automatic on/off is available in this line of nightlights. It is *not* a feature of this particular one. You plug it in, it's on, and only goes off if you unplug it.

Other than those two issues, it works fine.

This light looks very pretty when on but is of no practical use as a night light. It does not even provide sufficient illumination in a 4x6 foot half bath as they only illuminate for 6-8 inches around. I would have returned them but it was not worth the expense. The best thing yet is a standard night night with a red C-5 Christmas tree bulb.

Best Deals for Leviton 49563-LGT Red LED Decorative Night Light, With Light House

I bought this to find a bathroom light that wouldn't be as disruptive to sleep cycles and melatonin production, in the event of a middle-of-the-night pit stop. As several people have commented this nightlight is quite dim, and I was a little tentative when making my purchase. When it arrived in the mail I took it straight from my sunny living room into our windowless bathroom, plugged it in, shut the door, and turned off the lights to test it. Talk about disappointment I couldn't see a thing! It made a tiny red glow in the corner of the black room. HOWEVER, I failed to take into account the fact that my eyes were still adjusted to the daylight in the room I'd just left. Luckily, on a whim a few nights later, I gave it another shot and plugged it in before heading to bed. When I woke up in the middle of the night and went into the bathroom, it was perfect. I could see the whole room since my eyes were dilated from sleeping. Dimly, albeit, but definitely well enough to do what I'd come for. And I had no trouble falling back asleep when I got back in bed! It is also true that it's clear plastic when it's not lit up, but I personally prefer it that way.

Bought for my toddler's room. The red light is not supposed to interrupt sleep patterns. It did not put off as much light as I'd like however.

I bought a couple of these candles and they are so good looking. The color is just right. They look so real since they are made of wax and not plastic and the flicker makes them look so natural. I spent more money on pillars that I barely use. I'm very pleased with the purchase.

I purchased both the 6" and the 4" candles to use in a grouping on a table for my mother-in-law who is in an assisted living situation where an open flame is not possible. The candle exterior really is made of wax (not a cheap plastic "look"!). I inserted the two required AA batteries (not included) in the base and showed her how to turn the candle on and off with a very simple push of the green button on the bottom of the candle. They are just lovely and soothing in a darkened room as they flicker with no safety concerns. Will probably buy a full set for myself!

I may be a few years behind in technology here, but these are amazing and I had no clue they existed until recently! I've spent so much money on pillar candles that melt all over the place and run the risk of burning down my apartment complex. I bought a few of these to put on a candle plate for my coffee table and they are lovely. I turn them on at night when I'm snuggled up on my couch and the glow is so comforting. They look very real and they really just set the mood in the room. That is pretty impressive for something that only cost me 10 dollars! They take regular AA batteries, which I haven't had to replace yet. I couldn't be more pleased and I can't wait to buy more!

Honest reviews on Inglow CG54600WH00 Flameless Round Pillar Candle, 6-Inch Tall, White

Be careful when ordering: I noticed that some of the reviews are confusing because some of the reviews on this model mention a timer. But this particular one does not have a timer feature: only an on/off switch.

If you want the one with the timer (which works GREAT!!! You turn it on at the desired time and it will stay on for five hours and then turn itself off and come back on at the same time every night), then look up "Inglow Flameless Pillar Candle WITH TIMER".

Hope that helps!

The glow is, as other reviewers have noted, quite charming and warm. I love that. They're certainly not bright enough to light a room. You'd probably need a minimum of three to light the area around a bed, and that's once your eyes have adjusted to the dark a little. My guess is you'd need 6+ to provide reasonable light to a room. They're more for ambiance than they are for light, but the ambiance is quite nice.

Unfortunately, two of ours arrived with fairly significant damage, and the third had a couple cracks, too. We'll be returning them. I'd probably just rotate the third and deal with it if the other two weren't cracked so badly. I haven't decided on return or replacement, as I have no confidence that the replacement will arrive in any better condition.

The cracking is no doubt a result of the way they were packaged and shipped. The manufacturer should have better packaging for this apparently semi-fragile product. They're just wrapped in a plastic roll, and packed together with some air cushions OVER them. I don't know who thought this would prevent them from bouncing around and slamming into each other and other items in the package.

Despite the bad experience, I'm only deducting one star from the product itself, and I'm doing that because I think they should be a little more durable. As I said, the majority of my dissatisfaction is not with this otherwise excellent product.

Ahhhh!!!!...can anyone clearly describe light to someone else? I'll try starting with describing the bulbs.

The good:

-Bulbs came packaged very well, no breakage, no duds.

-The bulbs themselves are good looking both turned on and off. (They look better in person than the picture)

-The outside fins are metal with a nice smooth finish.

-Dimming is very functional from full on to very dim, even with my old fashioned push button dial dimmer switch.

-Very bright, good light spread, similar to the halogens I replaced.

-I am using them in a celing fixture that the bulbs are fully exposed. When they are turned on, some light comes through the metal fins and makes a nice pattern (not too much) on the ceiling.

-Low wattage and much cooler than the halogens I replaced.

-Price $7.45 ea. is a steal if they last awhile. (will update review if any of them burn out)

The could be better:

-They are described as 'warm white'...um...not compared to halogens. I would say similar to flourescent light.

-Slight buzzing sound (like flourescent lights) at all brightnesses, very faint, but definitely audible.

Overall I like the bulbs and would recommend them to others, with the disclaimer that they are a 'neutral white' color. Not really 'warm' but not 'cool blue' either.

I hesitated to purchase any LED bulb because I've used LED lights in the past and always felt the light from an LED did not disperse very well resulting in little ambient light outside of the focus area. However, my office in my new house was set up with 12 track lights using 50w halogens and I wasn't interested in sitting under 600w of heat, so I took a shot by starting with 4 of these bulbs.

I could not be happier that I did so. They put off as much light, if not more, as I'd expect from the "35w Equivalent", and the lack of heat is exactly what I was looking for. The light they produce is more like what you get from a bright white or even a daylight bulb, so if you're looking for soft white this may not be for you. However I actually prefer it to the light I got from the original halogen bulbs. The dimming on the lights works very well too. They don't seem to dim quite as far as the halogens did, but they dim far enough for my taste and my dimmer does not go all the way to 0% power so that may be a factor. Overall I highly recommend these bulbs.

Best Deals for Lighting EVER Dimmable 4W GU10 LED Bulbs, 35W Equivalent, Recessed

I just bought one bulb to test. I'm using it in the kitchen fan hood which requires 4 bulbs.

Pros:

Beautifully built. Looks good on and off. Build quality seems excellent

This LED bulb is noticabley brighter than my original 35W halogens.

Fit is perfectly matched to my old halogen bulbs. The width and height are the same.

Runs cool. I have it on for several minutes and its still cool to the touch. The halogens are hot. The bulb must be efficent.

Cons:

I bought the warm bulbs but they leave a green hue on my white wall whereas the original halogen leaves a red hue. This isnt really a con, but may have to change the other three bulbs to be consistent. The color is not as warm as the halogens but not cold.

I have bi-level switch on my light fixture (bright and dim). On bright, the lamps work great. However on the Dim setting, the lamps strobes. It is very noticeable and probably unbearable. The strobing doesnt stop until I turn the switch to high or off. It isnt a warming up issue. This is why I didnt rate this product 5 stars and probably wont buy another set right now. Did I get a defective bulb or is anyone else having this problem? Other reviews have said that the bulbs dim nicely. That is not my case.

Honest reviews on Lighting EVER Dimmable 4W GU10 LED Bulbs, 35W Equivalent, Recessed

I have gradually been replacing the halogen bulbs in my house with these. So far I have installed five three in a mini track light from Ikea, two in a high-end ceiling fan. No duds in the lot. The light is definitely more of a bright white or daylight than a warm white. My wife likes it better than the original halogens. We have mottled off-white/light tan floor tiles. The LEDs make them look more white than brown compared to the halogens. The LEDs are exactly the same size as the halogens. The ceiling fan has fairly tight fixtures, and the LEDs fit without any problem.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Lighting EVER Dimmable 4W GU10 LED Bulbs, 35W Equivalent, Recessed

The Good:

Same size as Halogen bulbs they replaced (very important if the light cover is designed to fit halogen bulbs)

Very bright I had them side by side 50w halogen and they are as bright or brighter than 50w halogen

Cool My halogen bulbs gave off so much heat that you could feel it from 5' away

Going on 9 mos and they are still working the halogen bulbs in my kitchen started dying after 3 mos

Lower price point than other LED's

The Ok

They look a little industrial consideration if you are installing them where they will be exposed in a traditional room

The color is closer to 6500k not 3500k

I haven't heard them buzz

Summary:

I did (too much) research to learn about what bulbs would be the best replacement for my 50w warm white halogen bulbs. These were the best in my opinion based on the physical size of the bulb, the brightness, and the cost. I have (and will) purchase more in the future.

Cheap Petzl TacTikka Plus 4-LED Headlamp

Petzl E49P TacTikka Plus 4-LED Headlamp, Black
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

A few years ago I thought to get one of these for hikes, night photography, and simply having a lightweight flashlight in my camera bag or for when the power goes out. I read up on them, found Petzl to be the best, and yet the complaints were that the Petzl model at the time had only one brightness setting, didn't tilt, wasn't water resistant, and had no red filter. A year later Petzl came out with this model, and everything had been fixed to perfection.

Needless to say, I got one and loved it. For those new to LED headlamps, what's great about them is they leave your hands free and you never have to think about aiming the light. If the power's out, and you're tying your shoes and then looking under a cupboard and carrying out blankets, the light is always right where you need it.

Also, for walking at night, a flashlight will light up just a pizza-size spot in the middle of the road, but this headlamp casts a wide swath of light completely across a small road, so you don't have to scan for fallen limbs or porcupines everything is lit up evenly and it's much easier finding your way about.

The only downside to having the lamp right over your eyes is when it's foggy or snowing, since it lights up everything right in front of your face. But simply take it in hand, as a very light flashlight, or attach it to your belt, and all is well again. In fact, it works so that you can press the button in for when you want to check something, and then let it go and it'll go off. Much better than clicking through the four brightness settings time and again.

So I loved using this headlamp, and then I accidentally dropped it in salt water when kayaking. Not recommended. The directions actually say you can wash it out with fresh water and dry it, but I didn't get to it for a couple of days, and it had of course corroded.

Well, I had to order a new one, and what do you know it came with a little sticker on it that says, "New LED Technology, +80%." What was this about?

I dug out the specs, and sure enough, they boosted the reach from 17m (at Maximum brightness) to 32m. And not only that, but they extended the battery life at Maximum from 80 to 100 hrs. In short, the Maximum setting on my old one is now the Economical setting and lasts twice as long. You can really see the difference the Maximum setting lights up a yard and the red filter is now bright enough to hike by, when before it was best for reading or up-close work.

Way to go, Petzl.

I've only had a chance to use the Tactikka Plus on one 6 mile run. So far I like it very much. It's very lightweight, comfortable and stays in place. Some of the roads I run on are very well lit while others are almost completely dark. I wanted a light that was bright enough for me to see in the dark places even after my eyes had adjusted to the street-lit areas. The packaging for mine did not have the "80% Brighter" sticker that I have seen on similar new Petzl equipment so I wondered if it was going to work well for me. It did. Even at the low setting it was bright enough for me to see potholes and dips in the road. The light covers a wide area and reaches far enough in front that I don't "outrun" it. The switch is easy to use. The adjustable angle housing is essential for dialing in exactly where you want the light pointed without having to hold your head at a weird angle.

The headband does soak up sweat and it did take a few hours to dry out. I don't know if anything can be done to improve this.

Overall, I would recommend it to others. I would also check out the Princeton Tec Quad. It looks to be nearly identical but it is cheaper. It trades the flip up red lens on the Petzl for a waterproof housing.

*** UPDATE ***

I've now had this headlamp for 5 months and use it many times per week. Everything I liked about it initially I still like. For no apparent reason the lamp now will not turn off. Instead it goes into an ultra dim mode that you may not notice at first but continues to drain the batteries. I have not dropped or physically damaged the light. I've tried new batteries twice. Then I sent the lamp back to Petzl at my expense for their review. Customer service was excellent and prompt. They sent me a new lamp but unfortunately it is a Tactikka instead of a Tactikka Plus which means it only turns on or off. This is a shame because I use the lamp almost exclusively in the low setting.

While my old lamp was being evaluated I used a Princton Tec Fuel. Unfortunately for Petzl even though this lamp has only three LED's it is an improvement over my Tactikka plus in every way except comfort. It is only slightly less comfortable to wear and the flood pattern is better (it has more of a spotlight in the center with a wider flood light on the sides). I ended up never using the red flip up filter on the Tactikka Plus because I wanted to make sure oncoming traffic could see me easily. I'll be using the Fuel instead of the Tacktikka now.

Best Deals for Petzl TacTikka Plus 4-LED Headlamp

This is a great headlamp. I bought this light primarily to do turtle watching since the leatherback turtles do not see the colour red. However, I soon other uses for it, like hiking and reading star maps without losing my night vision for star gazing.

The four LEDs are great. The three light settings are great since you can choose the right amount of light for the situation. The emergency flashing light feature is great if you get into trouble and need to attract attention to where you are.

I especially like the fact that the red filter is attached to the light and can pivot into place when you need it. Won't be losing any more filters from now on. The head band is adjustable and made of a comfortable material so you can keep it on for long periods.

Overall this is a great light and comes with batteries.

Honest reviews on Petzl TacTikka Plus 4-LED Headlamp

overall, this headlamp is designed well and operates well. the only two complaints i have is with the red filter. when the red lens cover is snapped over the white leds, there is a small light gap and not all red light is seen. also, its very challenging to find the tab in which enables you to add/ remove the red lens. if you plan on using this primarily for the red light, i wouldn't recommend this headlamp.

1. Light dispersion. The light pattern from this very uniform. The center of the pattern is brighter but the transition to the edges is very uniform with no discernable hot-spots. The pattern is wide enough to provide good peripheral visibility. When you are hiking at night there is no need to keep moving your head around to see the edges of the trail. The middle brightness level provides plenty of light for night hiking even for my old eyes. Younger eyes will do fine with the lamp at its lowest brightness level which will really extend the already great battery life.

2. Light weight and compact. The three AAA cells are carried close to your forehead. You hardly notice the presence of the lamp. Other headlamps that I have used have placed the lamp assembly so far out from the head that the lamp tends to bob up and down when you walk. Others with the battery pack at the back of the head or on the belt balance alright but the battery pack and wiring snag on brush, bump on the backpack or prevent you from resting you head on a pillow. The Petzl is compact enough to wear either over or beneath a hat when the rain begins.

3. Tough. I have dropped my Petzl on rock or concrete a couple of times. The worst that happened was the the battery compartment popped open. The headlamp was undamaged and went right back into service.

4. Standard batteries. AAA cells are as common as dirt. When they do finally have to be replaced there is no problem finding new cells.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program If you are looking for a bright close proximity work light, this just might be the light you want. It has 15 bright white LED's that provide a circular beam, even though they are in a rectangular pattern on the light. The housing is nice and durable, with a waterproof soft rubber-like grip it is easy to hold, but you really don't have to hold this light. At the top there is a hook that pulls out. It is a little hard to pull out at first, but that is probably a good thing, or else it might just be flying out when you don't want it to. Once the hook is fully extended it has the ability to turn 360 degrees, it is also notched so that it stays wherever you place it. There is also a strong magnetic stand with a flexible gooseneck which the light clips into. Watch out, the clips scuff up the grip of this light. I have only had it in and out of the stand a few times and it already looks like I have used this light for months. I wonder if continuous use of this clip will tear the grip up. It is something to think about. The stand provides convenient hands free use provided you have a magnetic surface to set it on or hang it from. The on/off switch is conveniently place on the rear of the light right where your thumb should be making it easy to turn on or off. If this switch is held down for a few seconds when the unit is off it activates the Ultra Violet light which emits from the top. This is used to check for leaks under the hood of a car, or you can use it to illuminate the black light posters hanging on your wall, the choice is yours. The charging dock is nice and substantial, it can be placed on a workbench, or mounted on the wall with the enclosed screws. Although the battery is supposed to last for 6 hours I haven't had to charge it yet. When you do charge it there is a blue light that blinks, then turns solid when it is fully charged. The Philips 22001UVX1 has a nice bright beam, although it does tend to have a yellow hue around its edges. The center of the beam is a pure bright white. Its 15 LED's emit a nice focused beam for close proximity use (1200 lux at .5 meters) . Although it could be used as a flashlight, the extreme brightness decays the further the beam is thrown away from the light, though I wouldn't want to look directly in it from any distance, but it still does a pretty good job. The documentation included with this light is nothing more than a small pamphlet full of diagrams that need to be deciphered to understand so that the same one can be used for sixteen languages. Pretty weak Philips. There is also a one year warranty in actual words, not pictures. The Li-ion 2200mAh 3.7V battery is not covered under the warranty. Is it worth the premium price Philips is asking? I don't know, but I haven't checked out the competitors either. This is a professional automotive lighting instrument from Philips Automotive Lighting Division.

Update: This light proved to be a lifesaver during Hurricane Sandy. The power was out for a week and this light sure did come in handy. We even used it to cook meals on the gas stove in the kitchen. Using the magnetic base, we stuck the light on the refrigerator, providing more than enough light for cooking, it lit up the entire kitchen. Of course, we used it for much more, and we were able to recharge it on the generator. The light never lost its charge throughout this ordeal, but we recharged it daily, because we did not want to be without it!

I'm giving this light 5-stars although it is with some hesitation. The light itself is a solid 5-star product, but the charging stand could be better. It's very light-weight, I would have liked a weight in the bottom to make it stay in place better. Also, the spring loaded contacts that charge the light do not always make contact. I have to wiggle the light until the charge indicator comes on.

Still, the light is great. Bright, good light, and a charge lasts a long time.

Excellent light. Durable, bright, practically indestructable. Last longer on charge than most current lights. Checkout cool magnetic hook. Has awesome UV blacklight for leak detection for automotive inspections. One of the best LED work lights on the market. Philips makes good stuff.

Honest reviews on Philips 22001UVX1 Blue/Black High Performance LED Inspection Lamp

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Overall, I like this high intensity inspection lamp from Philips. The light itself is rugged, able to stand up to drops on cement or most anything else. It can take mud and rain and most any other common abuse.

In contrast, the charging stand is disappointingly lightweight, and when I opened the box, one of the rubber feet that fits in the bottom was loose in the box. Replacing it, I wasn't too impressed with the fit, but as long as you aren't hard on the base, it should be fine.

The magnetic hook holder is pretty cool, if rather stiff and difficult to pull out and rotate, though it shows signs of loosening up. It's a big magnet with a hook to hang the light from, obviously intended to attach to the inside of vehicle hoods to help illuminate the working area. The hook works great on any strong metal surface. My mate owns vending machines and absconds with the light and hook any time he needs to work on one. He says it lights things up for repairs in dark spaces better than anything else he's ever used. Right now, the hook is sticking to the side of the refrigerator, holding the light, which is illuminating the kitchen for the night because the overhead light died a little while ago. The hook lets us put the light right where we need it and made cooking dinner easy -if we'd had to rely on a flashlight, we'd have given up and gone out.

That brings me to what I feel is the best thing about this product. In an emergency, this six-hour rechargeable light is an absolute godsend. It's bright, tough, and reliable and whether there's a power outage indoors or a need to see outdoors, this is a great tool. I especially like that it can be recharged with a car adapter for use during travel.

The light also includes a black light for spotting automotive leaks; we find it useful for searching out cat urine. The instructions are impossible, but happily are unnecessary because it's easy to figure out how the light works. The biggest drawback is the price, which I feel is way too steep for what you get. Overall, we like the light, but I would definitely shop around before deciding on it.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program If Hurricanes, ice storms or violent thunderstorms are a threat to you, you MIGHT want to consider a rechargable flashlight, like this PHILIPS model. During the onslaught of SANDY, I wasnt running around from store to store, looking for "D" cell batteries, thanks to this flashlight. (I was in the stores buying bottled water, and ALL the "D" batteries were GONE.) My Philips flashlight sat on my kitchen counter in its charging dock. The little blue LED light was on, letting me know that the flashlight was fully charged. If the lights had gone out, that light would have STILL stayed lit, until I took the flashlight off the dock stand. When you use the light, and put it back on the stand, the blue light flashes, indicating its charging. This was a firm comfort. When I saw I wasnt going to need the flashlight, I left it burn constantly until the batteries fully discharged...well over 6 hours later. If you bought this for NO other reason, than to counter the fear of these bizarre global warming storms, you'll have piece of mind. Plus, you'll save a LOT of money not having to buy D batteries.

THis light has other funtions. The PHILIPS flashlight is marketed as an inspection light, because there's some UV LED lights on the top. If you have a leak in your radiator fluid, the fluid will glow. Also, there's a stand with 3 strong magnets in the base, so you can slap it in place on sheet metal. The top of the stand holds the light in lots of various posistions, for checking out the car engine. (The photo shows the charging dock, not this stand.) The obvious benefit here, is not electrical cord getting in your way, and no light bulb to burn your forearm on. I'd say the flashlight is as bright as a 30 40 WATT light bulb. Even tho there are 15 individual LED lights, you still get a focused round bright spot. On top of the light there's a hook, you can pull out so you can hook the light for hanging up. Be warned...that hook is tricky to pull out of the top of the flashlight. At first, I couldnt figure out how to turn on the Black light LEDs. With the flashlight OFF, push and HOLD the "ON" button, for about 10 seconds. That turns on the black light.

I also own a KNUCKLEHEAD rechargable flashlight from AMAZON. The KNUCKLEHEAD is a little more expensive, but you can charge it from your car cigarette lighter. Also, the magnet that can hold the Knucklehead onto sheet metal is not on a seperate holder, but part of the flashlight. (One less thing to get lost.) The light is more spread out with the Knucklehead, and since the head swivels, you might find it to be more easy to focus. However, the Knucklehead DOES NOT HAVE THE BLACK LIGHT LED fuction. If you are checking for leaks in the radiator, you WILL NEED this. The Knucklehead has an adapter, so you can slide in 4 AA batteries for the light, when the rechargable Lithium battery fails. This obviously extends it use as an emergency light. Both rechargable flashlights are in the same ballpark, if you arent planning to use one of them for inspecting your car. Right now, the PHILIPS FLASHLIGHT is much cheaper here on AMAZON, than the knucklehead.

I needed to buy replacement bulbs for a bulb that burnt out on my Eveready Floating Lantern (6-volt battery).

I purchased this new two-bulb package because of the lower advertised cost. Even though it is by Dorcy, the standard size and voltage rating matched as a replacement bulb for my Eveready Floating Lantern (6-volt).

Replacement was simple, easy, and straight-forward. Basically, remove burnt out bulb, plug-and-play the new bulb. Since this is a two-bulb package, I have another new bulb on stand-by!

Happy!

I couldn't find an Eveready C-whatever bulb when mine burned out. The Eveready Utility Lantern is cheap and widely available. I don't think I'd buy it again, but I still had good batteries for it that I hadn't used. I can't see that this bulb is any brighter than what came with the Lantern, but it's fine.

You have to use pliers to get the original bulb out. Unscrew the lid and start twisting the black plastic thing that holds the bulb. On my Lantern at least, I had to make sure the bulb was lined up exactly with the metal receptor (slot) before it would work. Just look carefully at how your original bulb is placed before switch it out.

I found this replacement bulb for an ancient six volt lantern I have had for more than 40 years. It gives a decent bright beam and brought an old unit back to life. Plus I have an extra bulb just in case, but so far haven't needed it. Works well and it is a nice replacement for some of the older types of flashlight/lantern bulbs.

Received with out any issues and both in working order. Put my old flashlite back in operation. They are not easy to find in local stores since most are LED's now
