This is a nice style deck or dock light. I've had several for a few years and they quit working so I am now replacing them. Quality of construction ok, I haven't had any rust problems with the outer case, but wiring connector does corrode and it is very dificult to repair. These things might cost a dollar to manufacture (including bulb), so there is a huge markup, but I didn't find any good alternatives.

Just the right amount of directional lighting along my driveway. I did have to upgrade my low-voltage transformer because I exceeded the number of lights recommended and learned (the hard way) that not all low voltage transformers are equal. I put the wire in conduit to keep the squirrels at bay, and the dogs from digging it up. That takes a little more work, and needed a T connector to raise from the ground and mount along the fence but that little extra cost, with the reasonable price of these lights turned into a first class project.

I received these lights when promised. The lights themselves are very cheaply made which explains the cheap price. The only real problem was that they have cheapened these up so much that I had to slice the existing cable to make the connection punch through. The connectors are terrible so make sure they work before you bury them or cover them under your wood deck like I did.

I installed six of these on my deck more than a year ago. They installed easily and still look good. All six of them are still working perfectly, no bulb replacements or any other maintenance required.

Overall, I haven't had to think about them since they were installed. That's exactly what you want in this sort of product.

I have purchased several of these lights to add to an existing lighting system. By changing the bulbs to LED you can triple the number of lights that the system can support. These lights are very easy to install with two provided screws and the wire connections do not need any tools. I have several of this along my fence as the side of my house giving me good lighting for walking along the side of the home.

A solid and heavy light fixture with heavier gauge wiring to LED driver and has quick connect terminals as compared to less expensive fixtures of this type. Works on 110 VAC and light output is fantastic for 1 watt. BUT, the light I received is DIFFERENT from the PHOTOGRAPH! The light shipped does not have a front lens as pictured and only shines light from the each of the four (4) sides with no light forward from the "front lens" as pictured in the front cover. The aluminum cover and body is solid metal with an acrylic or glass lens that diffuses the LED light to the sides only. Based upon the photograph, it appears light should shine from a round hole or lens in the front also? I purchased another brand of LED bulbs at Home Depot for a dimmable ceiling fan/light fixture. My wife immediately noticed them and complained that the light they produced was too harsh. Dimming them wasn't an option because it didn't change the color of the light, and when dimmed they generated a loud buzzing sound. So I purchased these to see if they would be more like the incandescent bulbs I was replacing, only much more efficient. These are much, much better. They look funky when they're not turned on (they're noticeably yellow) and they do buzz a little when dimmed (hardly noticeable when the room is completely quite), but the light they produce is much more like what's created by an incandescent bulb. They're a little expensive, but worth the money.

Have been searching for LED replacements for the various applications in our home. So far most of the light has been too bright, too blue, or just spooky.

These bulbs are at the other end of the spectrum. A bit too dim for our use, very yellow. My wife says they look like cf"s that are still warming up.

Compared to 40 watt Sylvania soft white standard bulb and could not tell the difference. Most LED bulbs do not distribute light evenly and make poor choices for lamps or other fixtures that point up. These are the exception and send light in all directions. Do not be concerned about the Yellow exterior, these bulbs produce soft white light.

These are pretty heavy and feel well built. They are in retail packaging and were shipped in flawless condition.

Have not tested them in a dimmer or outdoors.

Highly recommeded so far.

I have purchased several of these bulbs and found them to be very nice replacements for incandescent bulbs. I am using these in living room fixtures and in our bedroom nightstands. They are dimmable and unlike other brands of dimmable bulbs I have purchased, these do not buzz when dimmed. I recommend these Philips bulbs, even though they are a bit more expensive than other brands of LED bulbs. Don't be put off by the yellow top of the bulb when lit, they have the color of a regular incandescent bulb.

I got this lamp because I have some detail painting that I needed to do. The thing was that I didn't really want to spend $60.00-$80.00 dollars for something I'm not going to use very often. Even though this lamp didn't have any reviews on it I decided to take a chance and boy am I glad I did! I received the lamp yesterday and man am I happy I didn't go out and spend all that money on another lamp! This lamp is fantastic! You know that saying, "Good things come in small packages?" Well, they were talking about this lamp when they wrote it. The top of the lamp lifts up-that's where the magnifier is-the light is a florescent bulb, but don't hold that against it. It is bright, but it doesn't hurt your eyes; as for the magnifier it's very powerful. Great for any detail work that needs doing from sewing to removing splinters! Get this lamp while the price is low! Wow! 5 Stars for the little lamp that could!

This is truely a 10 dollar lamp. The lens is plastic and the lens diamater is so small that you have to close one eye to look through it properly without seeing a double, out of focus image. Spend the extra money to but a real magnifying lamp with a glass lens and a larger diameter ring.

Even though I paid attention to the dimensions and looked at my tape measure, when this light arrived I found the diameter to be too small for my purpose. The magnification is great, the quality of light and size of the base is great. I love the adjustability of the light head and overall the quality is good. The cover is great for keeping dust away but the lens is smaller than I anticipated and I found it hard to focus except in the very center. As you move your head/eyes or hands beneath, it is easy to lose focus on the object. I will keep this on my desk for reading those small fonts on bills, etc. but it will not be my craft light....the lens circle is too small.

I've been looking for a good lamp for awhile and ultimately decided to purchase this lamp after some research and reading other reviews. As a student and night owl, this lamp is pretty perfect. Breakdown:

Aesthetic Features:

Pristine white hard plastic. The design is a modern sleek look. The base is sturdy so that the lamp will not easily knock/tip over. The lamp was very easily put together when it came out of the box and I couldn't find any scratches or faulty parts from the get go. I really like the clean design.

Light Features:

The lamp is touch based which I really like and it works pretty well. Very nicely lit and the touchpad has a soft low in case you need to find it at night. It has 4 basic settings

Sleep/Bedtime mode

It's a soft orange warm glow. I like to use it for the wee hours of morning when I wake up for whatever reason when the sun isn't fully out yet. It doesn't hurt my eyes like other lights do.

Relaxation Mode

This is a step brighter than the sleep mode. A brighter orange/yellow if you will. I actually like to switch between this and the reading mode for reading depending on how tired my eyes are.

Reading Mode

The light shade is more of a white glow. I do use it to read but I often switch between this and the relaxation mode just because sometimes I prefer the more orange/yellow glow over the white glow.

Study Mode

This is a very bright white light compared to the reading mode. I pretty much use it late at night when I really want to get a lot of work done. I don't know if it's the cast of the glow but I feel like it's a more "serious" light if you will. The orange glows are more home-y/cozy and makes me more relaxed.

I get a lot of headaches and migraines so I really enjoy the different light settings on this lamp as it's easier on my eyes from what I've been able to tell. On top of the different modes, you can easily adjust for a higher/lower brightness on each setting A++.

Extra:

I really like that the power button is lit when the lamp is off so in the middle of the night I know where to clumsily touch and not just feel out my cluttered desk and drop things. There's also a USB port I can use to charge my iPhone. YAY!

I was between just getting the other lamp this company makes without the tilting head and this one but after reading an informative review stating that they wished the head of the lamp would tilt, I just bit the bullet and went with the newer version. The titling head is perfect!!! I keep the lamp on the edge of my desk, and I just swivel it, adjust the head so I can read on my bed since my desk is right next to my bed.

I just received this last night and was very pleased with the look, construction, flexibility and light options. I used it to replace a small halogen lamp on my home office desk which has a desktop computer with pullout keyboard shelf. The lamp is easily adjustable so it fits the desk very well. The best part is that the arm is secured to the base through a large hole with a plastic nut. It can be rotated about 270 degrees. This is the key to making it fit anywhere i want. The lighting options are great and it lights up the entire desk as well as the keyboard. Now my wife wants one for her craft table. Definitely worth the price!

We're thrilled with this desk lamp, for its variable color temperatures and intensities, plus the tilting head. The tilt feature permits canting the light head slightly away from you to avoid glare. This appears to be the key difference between this lamp and a less expensive non-tilting lamp also available on Amazon.

Too early to tell if the LEDs will last their estimated 40,000 hour lifetime, which certainly figures in to the value proposition for this lamp. But unless I missed something in other reviews, there have been no reports of premature failure.

These are very useful for converting to Compact Florescent Light (CFL) Bulbs. CFLs for Candelabra Base are very expensive, and I can normally find CFLs for a standard base for $1-2. I bought one of these first to make sure that it wasn't too cheap to work. They work rather well, however I did need to bend the center pin in the candelabra base (of fan) up a little to make electrical contact. The item pictured was not received, but I am not complaining either. Instead of a "natural" cardboard sleeve, mine were a black cardboard sleeve. Also, the sleeve extended past the tip of the candelabra end. It feel that it adds stability as the weight of the new CFL is greater then that of the organical candelabra bulb. The candelabra end seems to be crudely soldered on, but it holds rather well.

These are well worth the buy @ less than $3 each. I had planned to re-fit the ceiling fan with new stand base porcelain bulb holders, but this is a more practical solution.

This light is beautiful, no doubt about it. It is designed to completely cover a wall outlet (though you don't have to) and provide a nice light panel that looks good when on as well as when off.

It's a little too bright for in-the-bedroom use, and the light color is more true-white than warm-white (probably close to 3000K) so it's not as pleasant as an incandescent bulb. I could maybe see this working as a hallway light if you don't mind the whiter color. We use ours in the master bathroom, where we want the styling and don't need a warm light.

The light sensor that controls it is on top of the panel. That means you can really only orient this one way. That means either the top plug on an outlet (leaving the lower one free) or the bottom plug, blocking the outlet completely. That's not really a big deal.

It really does look it's best when you cover the outlet completely...except that covers the outlet completely, which may not be practical particularly if you are limited on outlets already. Just something to keep in mind.

I was reading reviews to hopefully find someone with my same problem but i haven't. I bought a few of these night lights. Two for my hallway and two for the plugs between my kitchen counter and cabinets. They are nice and give off a nice warmish color light. they work great at night and at night with the lights on. (the sensor detects the light and turns off). My problem is that during the day the light sensor isn't sensitive enough to turn the nightlight off. The sensor is located on the bottom of the unit (not that it matters cause i tried it upside down). I dont think my kitchen or hallway are too dark but the units stay on. Even if i open the blinds wiht florida sun light they stay on. They see the black granite counter top about 8 inches away and think its dark. I think they are to sensitive to colors. In the hallway maybe the walls flat beige paint is not reflective enough or the beige carpet. Toss a black sock near the unit it turns on. Probably recommend gloss white paint with white colored carpet/tile.

The sun goes down very early and it is very dark at night in our new house, so I needed several night lights to light our way at night. I bought this night light because of the style and design, and my husband is a big fan of the LED light. This night light automatically goes out during the day and comes on at night. The light is very soft. The design is very complementary in our contemporary home. You can place the light on the bottom outlet and it completely covers the outlet. If you place on the upper outlet, you should still be able to use the lower outlet for most appliances, though my carpet cleaner plug is too large and I have to unplug the nightlight to plug it in. Otherwise this is a good purchase and I've been pleased. I especially like the simple, contemporary design.

I find this thing to be amazing though I was thinking it would be a 360 degree black light. :( oh well its still sure to light up your room nicely. A little tip though when you try it for the first time and turn it on don't worry that it isn't lighting up, turn the lamp with the cord toward you and turn the bulb to the left gently of course and its good to go. Though probably should not have it plugged into anything to reduce shock, or shorting it.

I got this long time ago for an entertainment room (along with another model). This model is quite heavy compared to most of the other models out there which are mostly have a flat ballast. This one is quite thick over all, and unlike the flat models, uses an electronic starter (which will have to replaced after so many usesthat being said I've had this for 5 years and haven't had to change it yet.) Unfortunately the power on this item is quite low and doesn't have any real unf to it like the longer models (this one uses an 18" tube) Even in a dark room, it struggles to provide enough energy to make things glow more than a few feet away.

Really, I would suggest getting at least a 24" blacklight (which amusingly are cheaper than this!) if you want something with a bit more power.

The one nice thing about this product is it has foil glued under the tube to reflect the light back forward.

I originally bought this because I needed a flashlight with a spring clip.

I didn't notice it was xenon.

It is too hard to turn on/off.

There is no on/off button so you have to turn the cap which is hard to turn and requires several rotations plus an additional turn to prevent accidental activation per the manual. Ridiculous. I did it once and was already sick of it.

Plus ... it's xenon ... dead technology blown away by LED ... xenon should be off the market by now.
