For the size, it has a bright light. It is very handy to have around when there is not much room to have a full size flashlight. It is not as bright as a full size flashlight but definitely puts out some light.

Just received this light and I'm very impressed so far. A few observations that weren't apparent from the product description provided:

1) Although the lamp is 19 inches long, the LED light strip is just 10 inches long (centered in the lamp) and consists of 54 tiny LED lights. However, there is good light dispersion and you get very good illumination of the music sheets on the piano.

2) An earlier review commented about a cheap on/off button in the center of the light. The manufacturer must have heard this complaint, because the switch is now a small and discrete toggle switch on the right side of the light.

3) The LED color specs aren't mentioned anywhere that I've seen, but I would say it's on the warmer side, ie around 3000K. Not as yellow as your typical incandencent lamp, but it's not a cold blue light either.

4) The lamp itself is actually 24V and the transformer is built into the plug-in adapter. The adapter will accept input voltage of 100-240V, and the cord is about 10 feet long.

Got this as a new piano light for our church. Looks great, very solid construction, and it does seem to produce light equivalent to a ~40W incandescent bulb (as claimed). The lamp has received fairly infrequent (4 services/week), gentle use during the past year. The "Achilles Heel" seems to be a cheap push-button on/off switch in the center of the light bar. We no longer get all LEDs fully lit without a lot of very, very gentle touching of the button multiple times to try to maximize the light output. It's to the point that I get to choose either (a) keep fussing with the switch before every service for almost a full minute, (b) pay another ~$200 for another lamp, or (c) do a little electronic surgery to replace the switch with something more reliable. It costs too much and looks too good to throw out, but it has become a pain because a 5-cent part is slowly failing.

Bought this a month ago. The lamp fits very well for my Yamaha console piano. But although the shade is 19" long, the actually LED light source is only about 10" or so. This gives poor lighting. Instead, I exchanged with the Conoco Piano Lamps version which looks very similar. The new one CONOCO Piano Lamp Adjustable 19" LED Piano Lamp, Black works much better with a lighting length of about 16" or so while the shade is the same 19". They have the clip on and upright (same as this one) versions on Amazon.

I ordered this and was disappointed that the LED strip in it is only on the center 10 inches, when the shade is 19". I then ordered the Conoco lamp that looks exactly like this lamp. The Conoco lamp has LEDs along the entire length of the shade, although they are spaced about an inch apart. The HoT lamp has a 10" strip with the LEDs spaced very closely together. I plugged them both in and compared the light from each. The Conoco lamp illuminates the sides of the music better, as you can imagine, given that there are LEDs along the entire length of the shade. The HoT lamp illuminates the center more brightly, but there is some fall off of illumination at the sides. The Conoco light is slightly yellower than the HoT light. I preferred the whiter light, but in the end, I returned the HoT lamp and kept the Conoco lamp. Both lamps seem to be constructed about the same, weigh about the same, and have similar finishes.

We needed to buy a bunch of small reading lights at our theater (for rehearsals, stage managers, etc) and so I ordered one of each of the top models I found here on Amazon. This one was the hands-down winner. It's great that you can clip it to any book (super strong clip) or use it on a table (the batteries act as a perfect counterweight). The smaller models didn't have nearly the same lamp life as this one. And the flexible gooseneck is awesome. This changes everything! After years of nighttime disputes when one of us wanted to turn off the light to go to sleep while the other wanted to keep reading, the Light Boss saves the day. I really like that you can clip it to the book or rest it on the nightstand, and that the dual light settings mean you only use as much light as the situation requires. It's lightweight, and so would be easy to pack for travelling (I'm bringing mine camping), and the LED light is strong yet not harsh.

It takes a lot to completely please me with most products, but this one has done it. It is WAY WAY WAY Bright! Much brighter than my HID suv headlights. The manual does not go into enough depth on a few items, but a quick phone call to Technical Services answered all my questions. The Technician was VERY courteous and intelligent It also comes with a power cable (Well built) that can be plugged into a cigarette lighter in a vehicle. I was so impressed with the Stanley 5 Watt LED spotlight that I bought this one as well to see if it was just as good. This thing is ridiculously bright! I live on the the top of a very large hill and there is a stop sign at the bottom of the hill. I shined this light at it and it lit it up like I was standing right next to it. Oh yeah, the stop sign is over 2 miles away!!! If you have a need for a well made, POWERFUL spotlight, buy this light now. For the money, nothing even comes close.

The light is a nice 'warm' light compared to the LED 'cool' light so it's not as hard on your eyes. It's very bright and has a good distance. Nice ergo design. It's not real heavy but it's not a flashlight, so it's gonna weigh more.

The only con I have is that the charge doesn't last very long. It comes with a car charger so that does help but I use it when camping/hunting, so it would be great if the charge lasted longer. I'm looking into a portable charger to help.

For the price I paid, would definitely recommend this product.

I paid $14.99 for this bulb locally and it lasted 4 months. I am ordering 2 more from Amazon at half the price, hoping they last longer than the first one. However, the package says it has a life of 750 hours, so maybe 4 months is all I can expect to get from this bulb.

I use it in a dimmable fixture and it gives off a very pleasing light. The package says it filters out dull yellow rays, leaving you with enhanced, vivid surroundings. And it is very true. My house looks much better in that type of light and I can see fine detail much better such as when I am reading or working with small parts.

It is getting harder to find these Reveal bulbs as the compact fluorescents become more popular and even required in some places. I have not been able to find a compact fluorescent bulb that provides the same color and vivid detail, not even the reveal CFL's.

In so much as I can not purchase 200 watt light bulbs in the state of California where I live, I ordered this to fulfil my reading needs. I have a 200 Watt bulb in a lamp with a dimmer so that I can use it in my living room at lower wattage, but when I read I need the higher wattage because of my vision and age. This GE 200 Watt Reveal Reader Light bulb works even better for me than the standard bulb when it comes to reading even in the inverted position (Burn base up) in a hanging lamp. I'm very thankful to be able to acquire these bulbs through Amazon!

I had been looking for a smaller, more compact spotlight, for some time when I ran across the Cyclops. At first I was skeptical about it's performance, due to it's size, battery choice, and price, but figured I'd give it a try. I was truly amazed at the brightness and range that this light has. This was delivered in good time and is strongly constructed & well finished.

I selected the battery version as it is quite a bit cheaper than the re-chargeable unit, yet offers the flexibility to fuel it with AA batteries in emergency OR use chargeable AA. This appeals as I am often working a fair distance from mains power.

The main beam is too bright for close range work but stretches out 150m of usable illumination. The green 'work' setting is bright enough for walking or illumination out to 20m.

The best bits?

1. Excellent brightness & battery life (expect 3-5x as long as you may be used to with conventional lamps) + warning LEDs showing that your spare batteries are going to be needed.

2. The control trigger locks so no accidentally running down the power while in transit.

AAA+

The pros:

Lightweight

Durable feel to it

Two settings, High/Low (the low setting shines a green light as opposed to the white light of the high mode)

Decent battery life (up to 5 hours on high, and over 100 hours on low)

There is no rechargeable battery that will die on you if you fail to charge it for a period of time

Cons:

Only 160 lumens (Although it is much brighter than I expected)

I found that the green hue it emits while on the low setting is pretty easy on the eyes. If you just want some ambient light for doing small tasks right in front of you, the blinding white light of the high power is too much. A simple flip of the switch will set it on the low setting, and you're good to go. Then if you need to spotlight something, the high beam works great. I know 160 lumens does not sound like much, but I was pleasantly surprised at how bright this light is. I think for most people it is plenty. The little color LED battery life indicator lights on top of the unit are also a nice touch. Would definitely recommend!

It isn't indicated anywhere in the Amazon description, but the package states that there is 495 lumens of brightness. Hope this helps.

UPDATE: There was 1 order of 4 bulbs and 1 order of 2 bulbs. I installed 6 of these in my kitchen ceiling cans in March of 2013.

There was a little color difference between lots but overall I was happy as the brightness was very good.

After 4 months one of the TCP bulbs went out I suspect the electronics in the base went bad. I will keep you updated if any others die.

Saw some mixed reviews on these, but decided to purchase anyway.

Main concerns were warm up time to full brightness and color temperature.

These lights take a minute or two to reach full brightness, and give off a nice warm tungsten like light at 2700K.

I'm very happy. I use them as a hall light that I switch off and on, and I was worried the initial brightness would suck.

It really is just fine for me, and I would rather save the money on my electricity bill than wait a minute for full brightness.

This product is great, but has one flaw. The pros are that it is bright. It has external controls (a prior motion light I owned had controls behind the mounting area). The sensor seems fine, did I mention that it is way brighter than I had imagined from a low wattage LED setup? And that is it's only drawback-the low level light mode of the Dual-Bright lighting is just...bright. When you actually set off the motion sensor and the LED's hit full on, you will only notice a quick flicker of increased brightness. It's just like "Oh it gets brighter than this?". This mostly defeats the purpose of the motion sensing ability.

But otherwise it is a nice bright and cheap to operate nightlight.

The concept of an LED flashlight that clasps, stands and swivels is great... but the implementation just needs refining.

PROS:

LED is energy efficient. The clamplight will run longer on batteries than non-LED lights.

The head tilts and swivels (although there are limitations as described below).

CONS:

The movement of the head is limited to preset positions, and it's frustrating if you're trying to point the light to a certain spot since it will revert to the preset locations. It would be better if the positioning was continuous.

The feet are too small and it is easy for the light to tip over if it isn't on a smooth flat surface. It would be better if the feet were bigger and spread further apart, especially since the light is a little top-heavy.

It's awkward to replace the batteries. I dread having to replace the batteries. Sorry... just saying.

If it were cheaper, I could accept these shortcomings. With some improvements, it might be a handy device to have in your toolkit. Unfortunately, this is one of those purchases I am not making good use of due to all the shortcomings.

I highly recommend this clamplight. First off, the clamp is incredible. I don't know why every flashlight isn't a clamplight. At this price point, it really stands out with its quality feel and durablilty. I have dropped it a few times by accident and it was totally fine. Most LED flashlights at this price range break so easily. The CREE bulb is super bright, shoots a very long stream. It's a really excellent flashlight for the family.

What a fantastic flashlight. I bought it for my boyfriend who is a gear head and loves to tinker around in the "Man Cave" (garage) all the time, and he loves it. He takes things apart and checks things out with this flashlight hanging from an existing power cable in the ceiling, or clipped to the edge of our UTV's fender, or clipped to the edge of a tool cart, its great. Its just so versitile that he uses it ALL THE TIME! We go camping a lot too, at least once or twice a month and he has that flashlight on him the whole time! Clipped to the side of the RV as he locks up the UTV and generator at night, clipped to the edge of the awning as he's grilling our dinner, or clipped to the back of his camping chair as he is looking over trail maps at night for the next day. I purchased the Blackfire Clamplight LED flashlight after reading about it in Popular Science last fall. It was listed as a "must have" product and I totally agree. I can't imagine any person buying a normal, old boring flashlight after having experienced the Clamplight. It is so versatile in terms of it's uses. Having the clamp integrated into the handle which is extremely helpful. The brightness from this 65 lumen LED is essentially a super bright spotlight. Some people have said installing the battery is a pain, but it really isn't a big deal at all. It's just different from traditional flashlights. I purchased a bunch of the Clamplights. I have one in my car for emergencies, one in the garage, one on my nightstand and one in the kitchen. I find myself using it all the time.

I bought these not too long ago (I think they had a crazy retail price on them like $89) and I assumed they were just another sorry attempt to make a "good light" that ran off of batteries but when you tried it, you were always disappointed. I sure was wrong! These are amazing! I still have trouble believing they aren't connected to or "hard wired" in the house. We used a couple of them in our stairway because we have a couple very young children and we needed lights so we didn't fall at night if we needed to go downstairs (but didn't want to wake up the rest of the house). A couple great features made all the difference -

1) Dusk to dawn that's right...you're not wasting power if it's light enough to see really well. Meaning, they will work as it begins to get darker I found the setting to be just about perfect!

2) They say they are motion sensing up to 16 feet...that's not true. I use them at the top of my stairs down to the end of part of the hallway if I enter the hallway on the far end (about 20 feet) they turn on, every time without fail! The motion sensors work great!

3) It also has 100 degree motion sensing so if you were coming from the side...say it was on a wall and you were trying to sneak out of the room without hesitation, the light turns on the second you open that door!

It's a nice white (not too yellow or soft-but not too white and overly bright) which makes me feel good that it's not "over-kill" in the light department. Lastly, they stay on for 30 seconds so you don't waste battery life AND they have a second setting to illuminate the floor with 2 intensely bright LED's. To explain, you have the basic "on" setting when you push the bottom button once, that means the sconce itself illuminates. You also have another "on" setting that turns on the bottom super-bright LED's to help you see really well on the floor itself. I use this product both ways so I am happy. A side note these would be really great for power outages, just double stick tape them to the wall (which it comes with) OR have a more permanent solution with 2 screws (comes with drywall anchors too). Simply slide off the light by pulling downward to access the batteries for replacement and that's it. By the way...I haven't replaced my batteries yet.

If you have any doubt...by this great 2 pack while you can...if you aren't happy just return it because someone else will be! I'm telling you...you won't be disappointed! This will be getting HUGE! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!

It's not the brightest light only because the type of bulb used is replaceable and comes with a spare inside the housing (twist off), which is a great feature, plus the pivot up/down, (not left to right) the way it is described is held in position by pressure to the hinge slightly. This means it will always have that tight feel and practically never get loose. Nice touch. There is plenty of room for rechargeable batteries (2AA's), and this is primarily where one will get the most use out of it. The head band is comfortable and lightweight and goes over the top of the head, which adds allot of stability unlike the bands that only wrap around, which is why there is no adjustment feature on them, (on those you only get the angle it comes with). If your concerned about reliability or access to the light you can't lose with this one. The light is off white, but what does it matter if you can see what your doing and the price is right.

Not the brightest, lightest, or longest lasting head lamp but can't be beat for the price. I wanted a headlamp with AA batteries not the coin cell ones so i can use rechargeable batteries with it. The swivel is just right to give you light where you need it. I'm happy with the purchase!

Product exactly as described. produces about the same about of light as a standard incandescent night light bulb. Uses allot less energy as can easily be determined, since the bulb does not even get warm to the touch. Will buy more!

These little bulbs are excellent! They are LED, so they are super power efficient, and they will last a very long time. They give off enough light to be decorative only (which I assume is all anyone would use them for). They are great for night lights if you want that nice mellow yellow light (not as harsh as the brighter yellows/whites you get from a standard bulb).

Overall, for the price, you can't go wrong with these. Just not having to switch out the bulbs for almost 6 years if you leave them on 24/7 is worth the cost of about $2.50 a bulb.
