I have a vintage 60s pendant lamp that uses six of these 5 inch diameter bulbs. They have become much more difficult to find in brick and mortor stores, and when I do find them, they are pricey.

I have previous experience with this particular bulb -they are high quality bulb and last a good long time for a filament light. At slightly over $5 per bulb when you add the shipping, this is the best price I've ever seen. I will be continuing to purchase them on Amazon instead of wasting gas trying to find them in the store.

I ordered this item through amazon. It is listed as a 6 pack of bulbs. I received one bulb. Contacted CS, they refunded me and ordered again, to be shipped when the item was back in stock (props to Amazon CS they handled everything beautifully on their end). I received my order yesterday from amazon and got, you guessed it, one bulb. That brings me up to 2 bulbs from my original 6 bulb order.

While this item was out of stock on amazon, I did order from a third party seller (ProMax) and received believe it or not 6 bulbs.

Cheap Megabrite: Wireless - Motion Sensor - Undercabinet LED Lights

I picked up this Megabrite: Wireless Motion Sensor Undercabinet LED Lights at a local warehouse Club purely out of curiosity. I fully expect it to be a battery hog since it says "wireless motion sensor" on the package. Surprisingly, the battery life is far better than I imagined. (More on that later)

When I first tested this unit, I almost thought it was defective because the motion sensor does not seem to work. The LED lights won't turn on no matter how much I wave in front of the sensor. Finally, I noticed there is a photo-sensitive resistor (light sensor) on the side of the unit. It turns out that in AUTO mode, the LED lights will only turn on when it is dark outside AND there is motion detected. (Note to self: read the instruction manual first!)

The motion sensor is quite sensitive and can detect slight movement even from 10-12 ft away. Once on, the lights will remain on as long as there is motion detected, or else it will turn off after 60 seconds of non-activity. This is a very logical design once I understood how it works. (Again: read the manual!)

I then proceeded to measure the battery consumption:

When the LEDs are on, the unit consumes between 160mA (when powered by three fresh alkaline AA cells) and 110mA (when powered by three Sanyo eneloop Rechargeable Batteries)

In standby (AUTO) mode: the unit consumes between 2.2mA (alkaline cells) and 1.7mA (NiMH cells)

What the above mean is that: if I put three 2000mAh eneloop cells in there, the unit can remain in standby mode for about 1000 hours, or about 40 days. If I use alkaline cells, it can probably remain in standby for up to 2 months. This is because under very light load, an alkaline AA cell can deliver about 50% more energy than eneloop AA cell.

Of course, the actual battery life depends on how frequently the LED lights come on. Assuming the lights are on for 15 minutes every day, then based on my calculation, a set of eneloop cells should power this unit for at least 30 days. That is not bad at all.

Finally, although this is called an "under cabinet" light, it can be mounted anywhere either horizontally or vertically. I have one placed in my living room near the staircase. At night, it automatical lights up whenever I come down the stairs, so I never have to search for the light switch in the dark again. For that I'm happy.

[Aside]

It turns out that the motion sensor is based on passive infrared, rather than active RF signal. The term "Wireless" on the package is actually referring to the fact that this is a battery-operated LED light so you don't need to run wires to the light.

Installed these undercounter lights in less than 5 minutes and they work as advertised. Instead of mounting them as instructed, I thought it would be better to mount them with an adhesive like liquid nails. This made it a lot easier to mount. After a week, they work as intended and as expected. In the evening they turn on as soon as I walk into the kitchen. When leaving the kitchen they turn off within 30 seconds. The nice thing is that they turn off by dimming gradualy which is a nice feature. I purchased 3 packs and the 6 units are just the perfect answer for my lighting in the kitchen.

Got these at Costco for a decent price. We did not want to wire the typical under cabinet lights and thought these would be a good option. We have liked the lights and they provide good light output with full powered batteries. Once the batteries start declining in strength so do the lights.

Main issues:

The photocell sensor is not sensitive enough and cannot really be adjusted. Our kitchen does not get a lot of light, but enough to not have to turn on the our ceiling lights during the day. Thus, these led lights come on all the time and drains the batteries faster.

Not that energy efficient if you go through batteries every couple of weeks. I now have bought rechargeable batteries and charger and do not care as much as I did when I was burning through regular batteries.

Main benefits:

Easy to install and change batteries when installed.

Provides good strong light with full strength batteries. Light is blueish however. Takes some getting used to.

Overall, the lights are worth buying at a decent price. I think we paid $20 at Costco and I wouldn't pay more than that. Make sure you have rechargeable batteries and charger though.

Some people have said that the light stays on for 1 minute as advertised and others complain that it mysteriously shuts off after just 7 seconds. After experimenting with the unit I finally figured out why it sometimes shuts off early. A flawed designed allows the LED to trick the photo sensor into thinking it is suddenly daytime and shut itself off moments after it comes on in a dark room. A correct design would be to disable the photo sensor after the LEDs activate so it cannot interfere with the operation.

If you mount the unit in a place where lots of LED light reflects back on to the photo sensor, the light strip stays on for just 7 seconds. However If you mount the very same unit in a place that does not reflect much LED light back into the photo sensor, the unit stays on for a full minute.

You can see the design flaw at anytime by using a flashlight. Put the unit in a place with no reflected light and it will stay on for 1 minute. Now activate it again, and once the LEDs turn on, shine a flashlight at the photo sensor (to simulate reflected light) and the unit shuts off after 7 seconds.

Summary: the duration of the LEDs changes depending on where you mount the unit. It works fine in many locations, but not all.

First, what I got does not look like the photo. The pic shows an all silver/chrome adapter with ridges in it. What I got is white at the top and completely smooth. You should know that it's entirely plastic too. It installed without a problem (the only positive thing about it). The LED doesn't change colors with temperature. In fact, it doesn't stay a single color at all. It just randomly blinks different colors, regardless of the water temp. The good:

1. Three colors accurately tell you 'cold, temp, hot'. I like that.

2. Solid design

3. compact much smaller than others I've had

4. clean and easy to install

5. no extra adapters needed.

The Not so good:

1. It's noisy. It uses a turbine to make the water generate the electricity for the light. This makes it louder than a regualr faucet.

2. the water output screen is rough, so water tends to 'spit' in random directions if the flow is too high.

Overall, we love it. I've ordered 3 more for each of the bathrooms in the house.

I love LEDs, and every time I turn the sink on it makes me happy, so worth the price, definitely. The only things I don't like about it is it makes a pretty loud whine noise if you put too much water through it, and although it does change colors with temperature it doesn't change very fast so you can still get your hands almost fried when the color is blue ("cold").

But as I said it is fun and people comment on it / I'm not the only one who likes it.

*EDIT: It's been up almost nine months. For the price I would have been happy if it lasted a week or two. It still lights up, and still changes colors with the temperature. It has been in our only bathroom, so it gets used quite a bit. We just moved apartments and at the new place the water doesn't get hot instantly like at the last one so the temperature indicator is a bit better here. The only thing I can think of is that there is a bit of hard water build up, but that hasn't had any effect on the turbine.

Things I like about it: I still smile inside when I use it, it doesn't take a ton of water to light up, also if I have to use the bathroom in the middle night I just turn on the faucet a little instead of using a light (I'm a water waster, but doesn't make my eyes adjust).

For the price it's OK, but I would not characterize it as "super bright," even when all 18 LEDs are switched on. It's bright enough to see your way around in the dark, but needs supplementation for intense detail work in dark corners, like plumbing under the sink or starting small screws when working under a vehicle. The head strap is good and secure, but the up/down adjustment of the light leaves something to be desired in that it's detented. I.e., the light adjusts up and down in discrete clicks, and where you really need it to point is often between clicks. Another minor irritant: you need a small screwdriver to dig out the batteries when replacing them.

This is a great little product. I live at 8000 feet so often I have to venture forth at night to gather wood or something. Wearing this little light is much preferred to sucking on a maglite. You can also scare relatives when you switch on the red led and pretend to be a radioactive zombie.

The light has 3 or 4 settings. I bought one for my son and I and sitting around the campfire at night we didnt need to light up the lantern because this provided us with plenty of light for whatever we were doing. It is probable a little bulkier than some of the more expensive models, but I didn't notice any problems with the weight of it on my head.

Bottom line, it works great and is brighter than I expected and I wouldn't pay more money for one of the more expensive brands.

I have had similar headlamps but not as versatile as this one. During the recent hurricane when the lights were out for several days, I was able to get by with a similar headlamp. I worked on building a model, read books and was able to carry-on pretty much as well as with normal lighting.

But this unit is superior to the one that served well during the storm. It is brighter and offers two different degrees of brightness. In addition it has an interesting featrure of allowing the choice of showing a blinking red "emergency" light.

I would recommend this to hobbyists needing more light on the workpiece, people needing light while working in the dark, and particularly for emergency kits to employ (the device) during black-outs and similar events.

I bought this lamp to use on my desk and found it to be futuristic, fun and beautiful. What is not in the description is that it comes with four bulbs and four frosted cylinders -I suppose an extra of each just in case one breaks during shipping. It also has a built in dimmer switch that adjusts from very bright to low glowing light. The one drawback is that the assembly instructions are a bit confusing and you'll need to look at the actual photo of the lamp online to figure out the exact placement of the cylinders. It took me an hour to assemble what should have taken fifteen minutes at most. I finally placed the base so the cord is at 12 o'clock and assembled it correctly; the tallest cylinder is at 3, smallest cylinder at 7 and the medium at 10. This should make it easier for you and although my time investment was longer, the final results were well worth the time.

It took me two hours to assemble this lamp. The problem is that the instruction picture is not the same as the one on amazon. You really don't know which piece fits where. I ended up being very frustrated. Hopefully this reviews are read by the company so that they can improve their instructions and send us new and very clear one. The only good thing about the light is that it has dim control and it looks nice but it still doesn't look as nice as on the picture shown on amazon.

This is one great lamp. It's bright, stylish, and extremely sturdy. I felt assembly was actually pretty simple. The instructions weren't detailed, but they didn't really need to be. There simply aren't that many parts for it to be very complicated. My actual biggest complaint is the plastic used to cover the base. It inspires "nails on chalkboard" when you remove it and bits of it get stuck in the crevices. I can see myself pulling little bits off for days to come. That said, let's address the most common concern in reviews.

ASSEMBLY - The lamp consists of the following parts:

1 Base

3 Metal tubings (small/medium/large)

4 Frosted glass tubings (3 used + 1 spare)

4 DontTouchMeOrIBurnout Bulbs (3 used + 1 spare)

That's it. Place the base so the power cord faces at 0°. Untie the the individual tube power cords. This can be tricky, they're tied fairly tight. Try to give them a little slack and push the ends through one at a time. I found it easier to attach the tubes from longest to shortest. The long tube screws in at 90°, medium at 225°, and small at 315°. After that pop the bulbs in and then slide the frosted tubings on top of those. Done. Whole assembly for two lamps took less than 1/2 an hour and would have been less if I hadn't tested doing the tubes from small to large.

Good luck. If you like the looks of this lamp don't be intimidated by the horror stories. It's a cinch.

The lamp was well packaged and the spare bulb and glass cylinder were nice in case of breakage. However this is actually the first hint of poor quality control. The tolerances of the angled bases is poor and the lamp posts interfere with each-other making assembly quite difficult. One of the bulb terminals had a stripped screw and had been crushed-in a little during manufacturing. The instructions are near useless as well. After about 20 minutes of trial and error I was able to get the lamp assembled based on a better picture found through Google. The lamp's final appearance is more than worth it's price but the actual quality is NOT there. Thankfully it only needs to be assembled once.

****(HINT: To others trying to assemble: with the cord on your right, the longest cylinder should be in front, the middle length on your right, closest to the cord, and the shortest on your left on the far side away from the cord. You WILL need to push a little on each cylinder to get them assembled.)

However, like other buyers, I found the assembly instructions to be less than helpful. And when I did put it together, I found that the bulbs only work when they want to which I find super inconvenient. If I'm reading in bed, and the bulbs decide to go out, I'm left with nothing. There's a slight buzzing sound coming from my lamp, too.

These may look strange. they offer a clear light, get only warm-not hot.You can remove then after being on and still handle themtry that with Florescent, bet you cannot hold the base of them.

Negative remark, 3 have failed for whatever reasons. But the company's just get out another one to you quickly on sending notice.

I've owned Sentina's 4-way emergency light for several years but wanted a motion-detection light that more appropriately fit the decor of our house. These Zen lights are larger than the 4-way lights, covering both outlets at the same time. I bought 6 but only 2 of them worked properly: switching on when ambient light levels drop, emanating a soft glow, then lighting the hallways as you approach it. The other 4 lights had problems: didn't turn on when dark, didn't detect motion, or stayed brightly on the whole time. (I believe Sentina just has inconsistent quality/assembly checks because I've had similar problems with the 4-way lights in the past.) Be prepared to receive a product that doesn't work properly. PROS: Looks great, bright pleasing light, switch has selectable time for auto-shutoff

CONS: I wish it had a mode to not light up without motion. it has a light sensor and lights dimly, so in a dim/dark room it will always faintly glow. It then lights up fully when motion is detected. That is fine but we use them in hallways without windows, and I would prefer it off completely when there's no motion.

A little too bright for some uses, but the light is projected well and not harsh.

Not a wide range of motion detection. it's easier to sneak up on this light without triggering it. It does detect fairly far away within its field though.

I bought three of these type of LED night lights, and they work really well for me!! They have a unique & different look to them, and also let off enough light to brighten a whole room when one's motion-activated... Also, I like the different settings for auto, one minute, 5 minute, to 10 minutes, that you can set it to...on the side of the light. But, the only down-fall to me is: it's a very big night-light, which just one takes up and covers a whole two-plugin socket on a wall. Other than that... I really love & enjoy all three of mine!! I recommend them!!

Delivered rather quickly. Had issues with the remote not working out of the box then replaced the battery and it now works. Nice and bright many options for light brightness. I would recommend using it as sub-light instead of your main source of light. The Blue is bright but makes other colors in the tank look gray or dull. It is a great product. UPDATE Just over a month and some LED lights burnt out(about 12). Emailed the seller and they sent me a replacement strip. Great Customer service!!!

This is by far the best light I have ever used. On top of the quality of light it projects, I dropped it the first day I had it, directly on the end and it held up perfectly fine to the shock. The three different modes of brightness is neat too. I find myself using the dimmer mode more often than normal mode simply because it is too bright for around the house chores. I installed new lamp posts in our yard. We loved the way they looked but they did not have a photocell nor motion sensor, so I decided to try my luck at adding some functionality to these.

I tried a few different products & ultimately went with these. There was a ton of functionality here for the money.

The biggest problem that I had was that the lamp posts were black but there were no black motion sensors. It took some masking tape, exacto knife, and a can of spray paint to fix that problem.

Installation was simple. I drilled a 7/8" hole in the light post with a hole saw, pulled the wires through & affixed the lock nut on the inside.

There were three wires... hooked the white up to the neutrals in the post, the black went to the power, and the red out to the lights themselves.

Once it was installed, it offered a lot of setup options... photocell off/on, motion off/on, dusk-to-dawn, etc. You can also adjust the amount of time that the light stays on once it is triggered.

In my case, the unit is setup to come only:

* When it is dark out

* When it detects motion

There is also a sensitivity switch which you can tweak to control how fussy it is.

It was advertised as having a 180 degree field of vision. I don't think I'm quite getting that much, but its vision is overall sufficient for what I want it to do.

I must have gotten the rotten apple in the basket. Mine works so infrequently, I can't even trouble shoot it. It worked tonight when I drove my truck up the drive, but won't work when I want it to no matter what I do; if I walk right in front of it or anywhere in my yard, driveway or sidewalk. When I make adjustments, it still only works randomly. It works about once a month since I installed it 5 months ago.

UPDATE*****: I really over estimated its field of view (left to right) and a little over estimated its reach (distance straight in front of it that it can sense). I tried again to adjust it and when I pointed it almost straight down, it finally worked. So, I seem to have learned that I have mounted it too high, and at that height I had to point it down where the center of the sensing range was able to sense my presence. I have it mounted at about 20 feet and that seems to be a little on the edge of what it was designed for. So therefore, I have revised from 2 to 4 stars.

When I opened the box I was thrilled, they looked great. I was going to use them as sconce in a bathroom for an industrial look. A few months later when our electrician was set to install them he delivered the bad news that they weren't able to fit over a 4" box. It looks like amazon has changed the description to read correctly that it will fit a 3-1/4" box, previously it was stated that it would work with a 3-1/4" OR a 4" box. The shame of it is that had I known that I could have easily had them roughed in correctly.

If they are the right size for you, then I would recommend them. You could come to my garage sale in a month and pick them up for a quarter.

This item is advertised as fitting 3-1/4 or 4" outlet boxes but that is not correct. It only fits 3-1/4". It does not fit 4" outlet box.

This unit is great if you need a fixture that is small and fits a 3+1/4 opening. Some of the other units on the market are much larger, and have the ugly keyed holes and/or that funky metal beaded pull cord thing like at grandma's house. Eww, gross! Placed this baby on my wall with a silverbowl bulb for a clean, contemporary look.
