unit just arrived. when i installed the batteries the switch was already set for stobe and was pointing at the mirror in my room. I still can't see out of my left eye. in a totally or even modestly darkened enviornment this thing will incapacitae a intruder immediately. getting a 2nd unit and box of batteries.

We lose power often here and I bought all four of these to test out. Here is what I found.

Energizer RCL1nm2, 1 LED

Primarily an emergency flashlight. Nightlight is selectable, the unit can function as an emergency light without the nightlight turned on, good function for basements and other areas where you don't need a nightlight all the time.

Ergonomics comfortable to hold, easy to point. Plug folds into handle, one sliding button (ON emergency light mode or flashlight when not plugged in, OFF, Nightlight mode), and good cogent instructions.

As an emergency light functional emergency flashlight, a five foot diameter circle at 30 feet, not very good as an area light. It won't replace a good Fenix, but it's a lot cheaper. Beam points up or down during emergency.

As a nightlight again the beam points either up or down, light output is lower than when in flashlight mode, but still fairly bright. Not photo controlled, so if it's on it's always on.

Outlet space excellent use of outlet space, plenty of room to plug in other items. Non-polarized plug so can be plugged in pointing either direction.

Battery is Replaceable (Varta CP300H $4-$10)

As an emergency light poor light focus for use as a flashlight, but reasonable area coverage although not very bright. Beam diffuses outward and up or down depending on position.

As a nightlight reasonable area coverage, photo controlled.

Outlet space good use of space with one great exception, the photo eye is in the end of the handle that points to the center of the outlet, if you plug a large item into the other outlet, you run the risk of blocking the photo eye and thereby having the nightlight turned on all the time. Non-polarized plug so can be plugged in pointing either direction.

Batteries are NOT replaceable.

Outlet space poor use of space, you may be able to slip a lamp plug by it, but anything larger (such as a three prong extension cord) will not fit or will stress both plugs.

Batteries are NOT replaceable.

Nightlight, emergency light. Nightlight on this unit cannot be disabled.

Ergonomics bulky, one slide switch to turn on and off the flashlight, the nightlight has no control other than the photocell.

Emergency light Flashlight pointed out of the front so difficult to aim; however, can be set on table and pointed to allow for task lighting. Poor weak beam.

As a nightlight very good area coverage, photo controlled.

Outlet space, bad, both outlets covered, polarized plug limits orientation.

Batteries are replaceable (Ni-Cad AAA)

For me, I like the fact that the Energizer can still function as an emergency light without having the nightlight turned on. That said; the nightlight for the Energizer is not photo controlled, so when it's on, it's on. It is the best flashlight of the bunch, not a replacement for a regular flashlight, just the best of this bunch. If I had a hallway and wanted it lit for company and in an emergency, and didn't want access to the other plug, I'd probably put the Satco there. The Satco's only saving grace, and the reason I'd pick it over the others with photo controlled nightlights, is because of the replaceable batteries

The title says it all. A rechargeable device ought to last longer than six weeks. Amazon's system says this thing cannot be returned, even tho it doesn't say that about another rechargeable flashlight. The package sends you to jascoproducts.com for a limited lifetime warranty, but this product is not listed. I have put in an inquiry at jasco. It seems I had to give this one star but it deserves none.

I can't use this as a nightlight the way it is. The place where the LED lights are lined up is so bright that I can't stand to look anywhere near it.

I had to put a piece of electrical tape over the side of the LED lights that is facing away from the wall, so I can only see the light given by the flashlight, not the lights themselves. Otherwise, it's like trying to use a lamp without a lampshade.

The light sensor works pretty well. It turned on one time on an overcast day, but otherwise it has only lit up when it's dark.

You can use the other electrical outlet when this is plugged in, but if you do, it covers the light sensor so it thinks it's dark and the light comes on. But of course, it doesn't matter if whatever you are using in the other outlet is only plugged in temporarily.

This is a very powerful, compact flashlight that has some very good features:

It's small, about the size of a soft drink can.

Although it accepts 4 18650 Lithium-Ion batteries it will operate on one, two, three or four.

Each of the 18650 batteries are loaded in the same orientation "button top" towards the emitters. Easier to change in the dark.

The output is very bright with good throw but more of a floodlight beam than searchlight.

The only down side I can see with the unit I received is that the cooling fins have sharp edges. I could see a problem if the light is not handled carefully. I would subtract 1/2 star for this reason if possible.

Overall I believe this to be a good value for the price.

While I don't really think that this flashlight is 4000 lumens, it is very bright. If you want to be able to light up your path or back yard, this will do it very well. It has a decent throw but is much more of a flood light than a spotlight. Mine came with no papers at all no instructions, no warranty information or anything. The battery compartment has no markings to show you the proper way to install the four 18650 batteries. If you know that the negative or flat end always goes toward the springs, you can figure it out for yourself. This flashlight is not very complicated to use as you press the switch you go from HIGH to LOW to OFF. The only negative is that you cannot go directly from HIGH to OFF. Also there is no momentary on. You press and hold the switch for STROBE. It seems to be fairly well built but time will be the judge of that. On HIGH this light is so bright that after a short time it will attract bugs just like a car's headlight. I guess that you could consider that a 5 star rating by the bugs.

This thing is bright. DO NOT shine it in anyone's face. The headlight on my first motorcycle wasn't this bright.

The construction is solid. The beam is a little uneven, but it doesn't really matter. No instructions at all. Attaching the the laniard is a puzzle.

This dimmer really did the job for me.

I purchased an old lamp at an antique store, but there were two problems with the lamp: the switch is rather hard to reach, and I don't absolutely trust the wiring... I don't want to leave it plugged in when I'm not around.

This dimmer switch was a great solution to both issues. The lamp plugs right into it. There is a long cord for the dimmer switch, so I can move the switch where I want it while leaving the light stationary. The sliding mechanism on the switch slides smoothly through the dimming cycle, but changes the friction level when it reaches the "off" position, so I know for sure when the power to the lamp is all the way off. Perfect. I can leave my lamp plugged into the switch with no worries about the old wiring.

Two other reviews struck me as a bit off, so I wanted to mention my opinion on each matter raised.

* One reviewer said that the switch has a little light, so she can find it visually when searching for it in her bed linens. The switch I received has no such light. This is actually better for me. Less power consumption, and I'm not one to misplace my switches.

* One reviewer said that you couldn't dim a lamp plugged into the switch all the way down, but that it would go half-bright or more. This is true when turning the switch on: it jumps from full-off to half-bright. But then you can dim it back down to where the lamp is barely glowing.

One other plus to mention: the switch works silently. No loud snaps when you're turning it on or off.

A great dimmer switch. Very simple to install an works extremely well. My wife has now used it for several months many times a day and she is very happy with the ease of use. The dimmer has very smooth and safe operation.

The only downside is that the switch emits an very low level RF signal that interferes with her radio when it is within an a few inches of the radio.The fix is simple...move the switch away from the radio.

Small compact unit. Dimmer slides smoothly. Has a "full-off" position. Rubber feet on the bottom help keep the dimmer in place. No monitor light

Installation is ridiculously simple, just plugin the dimmer, then plug your lamp plug into the dimmer plug. The dimmer is sufficiently small and light you could attach it to a wall or a piece of furniture with foamy double-sided tape.

I bought two to replace a dimmer unit on an Ikea floor lamp. There are also "in-line" versions of the dimmer, so my choice was whether to buy two "in-line" dimmers, or two plug-in dimmers and two electrical plugs. Leviton 101-P 2 Wire Plug, Light Duty, Polarized, Brown I decided that plugs are easier to install, and if I ever got tired of the floor lamp, I could use the plug-in dimmers on something else.

Besides, the dimmers do not work with compact fluorescent bulbs we are being forced buy (because incandescent bulbs are being outlawed)---so it will be an easy thing to de-install the dimmers if in a few years my antique incandescent bulbs burn out.

The dimmers come in three colors black, brown, and white, in-line or plug-in, and with or without a little red monitor light (diode). The monitor diode doesn't use significant electricity, and makes the switch easy to find in the dark.

When you dim the lights all the way down, be sure to keep going to the "full-off" position, where you will not be using any electricity.

The dimmers are very helpful in extending the life of those precious high-wattage incandescent bulbs which you cannot buy anymore---if you use the dimmers. If you want full light, slide the dimmer to full light slowly (not painfully slowly, but rather a second or two), similarly when you want to turn the light off, dim slowly all the way down, and then continue to the full-off position.

GUIDE TO THE FAMILY OF DIMMERS

This white, plug-in dimmer without a monitor light is TT-300H-WH

TT means "plug in"; "in-line" dimmers are LC

300 is the maximum wattage, the same for all dimmers in the family

This dimmer is well made, with a good feel to it.

Only issue I have is that the slider is very non-linear at low illumination levels. That is, while it is easy to adjust between half and full brightness, it is very hard to adjust between zero and quarter brightness -which is what I want it for.

Contrary to manufacturer's information, there is no LED to help you find it in the dark.

I installed two of these in my Broan range hood, and they really light up the stove top. My hood has 3 brightness settings and these bulbs do work with a dimmer. LED bulbs were my first choice, but I think LEDs are still too expensive for this application (Dec 2010) where usage is for short periods of time. I bought these halogen bulbs through Amazon from CFA Trading, and they shipped very quickly.

Thanks to other reviewer Seth for mentioning that this bulb fit into his Broan range hood.

Exactly the hood I have, and they do fit.

My original halogens were 2" wide at the lens. These are 2 3/4" wide, but they did go in (a little snug).

Amazon and Sylvania need to do a much better job of telling us shoppers specs like that on their products. Too much guesswork otherwise.

I was happy to find these Sylvania PAR20 wide flood bulbs at Amazon. I use them in the Broan hood over my range, which has three brightness settings. The wide flood is the best bulb for that application since it allows the light to spread over the entire cook top. The bulbs give out a nice warm light and last a very long time. I've tried other PAR20 bulbs but none of them give out a nice wide beam of light or last as long as these. I would recommend these bulbs to anyone looking for a good quality PAR20 flood light bulb.

While I like the look of the light itself, I'm a little upset over the longevity of this bulb. I use these bulbs in my bathroom, and they only seem to last barely 1 year before dying. If the 2500 hour listed bulb life was correct, that would mean I'd have left the light on in my bathroom for nearly 7 hours every day, which isn't even close. I'd estimate that I got a 1000 hours of life out of the bulb. By contrast, the twisted-style halogen bulb that I use in my floor lamp in my living room has lasted me nearly 2 years already.

I use two of these in a Broan Allure hood, which has two brightness levels. We never turn the lights off. They are usually on the low setting, and occasionally switched to high. They are rated at 2500 hours presumably on full power. That's about 3.5 months, but I expected to get longer use because they are almost always dimmed.

I started using these bulbs on May 25 of last year, and today is March 17 and the first one has gone out (the other is still going strong). That's nearly 10 months; exactly 296 days, or 7,104 hours of continual use on the dim and occasional bright setting.

The light is warmer than I expected, which is nice. At night, when all the lights are out except these, the kitchen has a nice warm feel. The light spreads out very evenly and the light of the two bulbs blend into each other nicely you don't really notice that the light is coming from two bulbs which are 20 inches apart. Our previous hood had a single light, and we were concerned that the two-lamp hood would produce two distinct hot spots, but this is not the case.

One reviewer said the bulbs are 2.75 inches in diameter. Mine are exactly 2.5 inches and fit my Broan Allure hood with room to spare.

I have ordered these lights on 3 occasions and on each one, over half of the bulbs were destroyed in transit. I have written and complained to Amazon about this, and on the last order they were generous enough to give me free next day shipping. However, half my order still came in broken bits and pieces. If you are interested in buying these lights, I recommend you order 2-3 times the number you actually need, and then just return the ones that break / aren't needed. However, if possible, I would try to get these from another source. Even if a bulb looks alright, it may still be damaged and fail later on. Terrible shame; A lot of good bulbs are being destroyed by the mail.

I purchased this for my daughters Ikea SMILA BLOMMA lamp which we somehow lost the bulb from. It didn't light up the entire flower because the light only shines out the top half of the bulb. Depending on your application this may be a deal breaker. Since we had already purchased it I will just live with it but it doesn't shine in all directions like a normal bulb would.

This light has a color temperature of 3000K, which I thought would be only slightly cooler than my 2700K incandescent candelabra bulbs (based on color temperature charts). However, the light from this bulb has almost no yellow in it and does not look nearly as warm as as standard incandescent light bulbs. I prefer a warmer color for my chandeliers, so I won't be buying any more 3000K candelabra bulbs. Thus, I recommend this light only for those who prefer a somewhat cooler color temperature than the standard 2700K.

I love this little light! I was hesitant to try it since I couldn't find any reviews about it, but I am very pleased with it's light output.

PROS:

*It's bright enough to read by. I compared it to another little USB light I bought on Amazon (the Ultra USB Notebook Light) which has only one bulb. That one give you a good little spotlight, but just in a focused spot, which might be good for lighting your keyboard. This light gives a good flood of light over the whole work area, and as I said, is strong enough to read by.

*The light is white and not blue like LEDs can be sometimes.

*I loved that you have the choice of powering it through the USB, or putting 3 AAA batteries in it to power it that way. I suspect you could also use a wall AC adapter, but I haven't tried that yet. I also don't yet know how long the batteries last.

CONS:

*The only problem with it is, even with batteries in it, it has a tendency to want to tip forward. To me that's not too big of a deal since I could readjust it's center of gravity (move the head around) and it would stop trying to tip. I suppose you could add a weight to the back to help this too.

Overall, I recommend this light if you want an inexpensive light that's pretty small, plugs into USB port, and has multiple uses thanks to the batteries so you can take it places (like camping).

I was surprised at the construction quality and brightness of the LEDs. But, as many reviews stated, the base is too light when you bend the gooseneck out (the gooseneck is very sturdy). Well, I peered inside with a flashlight and didn't see any exposed electrical fittings, so I poured small fishing shot into the hole where the battery cover tabs closed, Voila! Weighted the base perfectly. This is a really good price for a super little light.

I use this to light up my keyboard at night so I don't have to hunt for 'F' and 'J' (my fingers can't feel the bumps very well). It works great but, I agree with the base being too light.

I found that throwing a bunch of pennies inside the batter case works great so long as you don't have batteries in there.

The USB cord is only about 3 feet but, it works great if you use an open front computer desk.

The construction is very hardy for an inexpensive little light and, it doesn't blind you in a completely dark room.

If you don't like a lot of flourecent light and keep it fairly dark in your PC area, this works great for a keyboard light on your desk. The base is way too light and it does tip over unless you don't position it just right. That is its only drawback (one star deduction) other than that I use it everyday and have no complaints. I also use it for a constant "on" for my office to provide a night light effect for exiting and entering the dark office area I work in as I am usually the first in and first out. It works great for that purpose as well. The cord is also a little short so plan on being fairly close to whatever USB power source you are gonna plug it in to. I haven't used the battery option yet but I can see where it would make a great travel light, depending on the battery life.

I use this light primarily for reading at night. My wife called it my "stupid lamp" thinking it was silly, but now she steals it from me on a regular basis.

Pros:

1. Can take batteries. Since it's LED, these last a long time. Haven't had to replace mine yet and I've used it everyday for over a month.

2. Small and light. It's easy to put anywhere and move around especially with batteries.

3. Moveable neck. Sometimes I point this at a wall or ceiling to provide a "night light" sort of effect while others I aim it at my Kindle to read.

Cons:

1. Wide angle light. I was thinking this light would be a fairly focused beam so I could read without light shining on my wife. Alas, I was wrong. I put it on my headboard (just above my head when sitting up in bed) and point it at my book and it lights up the whole bed. For some this might not be a Con, but it is for me.

2. LED's are bright. Since this is a wide angle light, you can see the LED's directly a lot of the time. They are really hard to look at. I had to put it on my headboard to read because, on my nightstand, I could see them out of the corner of my eye and it was blinding.

3. LED's are cool. I don't mean to the touch (which they are as well) but have a cooler tone to the color. I prefer warmer slightly orange/yellow lighting but the fact is that most LED's have a cooler tone. This isn't a direct fault of this product but of LED's in general. Cooler light is harder to read in than warmer light.

Verdict:

I like this light. If it had some sort of hood that could direct the light better and shade your eyes from the LED's, this would be a 5 star. As it is, it's a 4 star.

I purchased two of the bulbs to replaced the overhead lighting in my parents RV. They do a lot of camping where there is no electrical hookup and many times run down their house batteries running the lights inside. These bulbs are a little brighter than the incandescent bulbs they were replacing and produce about the same color light. They are now able to have these lights on as much as needed without having to worry about killing the batteries. Most LEDs for this price are no where near this bright. Still expensive for light bulbs, but replacing a few at a time is not too bad. Another nice this about this design of LED is it is about the same size as the incandescent bubs so you don't have to worry about physical size restrictions in the fixtures like most other LEDs. The reason for only 4 stars is one of the bulbs quit after the first use. Eversale customer service is very quick to respond and had my replacement at the house just a few days after filing a claim and paid shipping to return the defective bulb. I'm hoping this is just a fluke because I plan on purchasing many more of these if they hold up. They offer a 1 year warranty so I figure we have plenty of time to put them to the test this camping season.

These are the "Latest and Greatest" LED Bulbs for Vehicles.

I got the single contact BA15S and these are just Amazing LED bulbs and worth every penny even though it's priced on the higher side.

Reproducing Virtually identical light to my incandescent bulbs,these are Toprate LED bulbs with copper base.

I have been waiting for LED bulbs to get better in technology and believe me I've bought some Really bad ones about three years back.

I've been noticing Phillips home LED technology and I gotta say Phillips should buy out Eversale's manufacturer.

Needless to say These Are Perfect! I only hope it actually lasts the claimed 50,000 hours and wished I had a greater budget to replace

the item ordered came without the batteries had to call the company and they sent them out this is a solar flag pole light that does not have enough lite to lite up the first clip of the pole does not illuminate the flag at all in fact you have to really look closely to even see a light what a waste of money

This works just fine, but it doesn't last nearly as long as it claims. I have to replace these after about 5 times of continuous 3 hour use.
