I bought two of these a year ago for dusk-to-dawn lighting on my farm. Both were installed by a professional licensed electrician. One worked for 3 weeks before the bulb burned out, and the other for 6 months, going bad in cold winter weather. Compared to the old mercury fixtures I used at my previous farm that worked reliably for years on end, these are bitter disappointments. Read the fine print. They won't start at temperatures below 30 degrees, and they are made in China despite the name Lights of America. Today I bought two replacement bulbs ($10 each), and neither works at all! I don't know if it's faulty bulbs or the fixtures themselves or the photocells, but I advise spending more money and buying a better quality product with a longer lifespan--and made in America if you can find one!

The savings in electricity won't compensate for the short life, high bulb replacement costs, aggravation of going up and down the ladder often, and overall poor quality of this product.

Three years ago we purchased a light just like this one and the cencer went out so we had to find another. We looked around and couldn't find one like we wanted. One day I was searching in Amazon and happened to find this one just like we had. Ordered it and when we got it my husband put it right up. We live in a mobile court and all we heard from our neighbors was when are you going to put your light back up we miss it so , so all is happy now.

Honest reviews on Lights of America 9147 42-Watt 2,500 Lumens 10,000 Hour Bulb

Until these folks come up with a longer life bulb, any energy savings will be lost on the cost of replacement of a very short lived bulb and expensive bulb replacement. NOwhere in the literature is the anticipated life of the bulb stated, listed, specified , or advertised. Why? because thats where the savings end. At between $10-13 replacement per year, over 50% of the total fixture cost, the green idea translates to reducing the green in your wallet. Other fluorescent tube types such as T12 and T8 are built for lengthy service with similar ,now digital ballasts. Not so , with this LOA product. Its designed to put the green in their pockets...not yours. So, once again its Caveat Emptor. A great idea soured by the greed for profit. For me, its back to the dependable and long lived sodium halide 75Watt by Regent or others. Those savings by not having to frequently climb the dusk to dawn ladder for frequent replacement outweigh any potential upfront savings. Energy like this comes with a price you must pay for in terms of high replacement costs.

These little up-lights that used to be so popuar are now hard to find. I use mine to uplight a plant at the far end of the room and it works as a night lite, too. I used a smaller bulb than recommended. Very pleased.

Needed a larger gauge wire for some malibu lights I was installing. The smaller gauge wasn't working, by the time the current got to each light, they got dimmer and dimmer. Replaced the wire with this thicker wire and the problem was solved. All my lights are bright now. Good price and shipped fast.

I'm replacing 16 wire that came years ago with a Malibu set of lights. The switch to heavier gauge wire has made the low voltage light much brighter. The cable appears to be very well made.

We started with a basic landscape lighting kit. Everything worked great until we decided to add more lights. Then we blew the original transformer. Went up to a much larger transformer but still lost light with every successive lamp on the line. By the end of the row the light was barely on. Then we realized we needed a much heavier gauge wire. This did the trick...very happy with the result.

Was initially cautious to buy wire by mail but the weight and quality compares to other similar wire. With free shipping it is a deal for those larger low voltage runs where you need bigger gauge wire to control power drops.

When I ordered I hadn't laid out all of my lights yet so I wasn't sure what gauge I needed and as it turns out, I could have gotten away with 14 gauge. However if I ever want to expand my lights I will need the 12 so it won't go to waste. This cable was defect free, unrolled easily and was easy to push my connectors into (the only criteria I really had).

Working with my hands in dark electrical cabinets and under machinery meant I was searching for a light I could strap to my hardhat and give me bright light from my hands to around 6' away.

This unit puts out exactly the right amount of light at those distances and beyond.

Three settings: Single, bright middle bulb on. This setting is a slightly yellow (in comparison to setting 2) and a bit more focused but still very effecctive. Setting 2 is the outside 12 LED's on. A wide, bright white array of light that is perfect for close work. And setting 3 is all lights on. Good for especially dark places as you will light up a very large area.

Great on batteries. Hours and hours of constant use before changing batteries. Hard to nail down times, depends on which setting you use. A good estimate is 10+ hours from my experience.

Good solid construction. The rubber like casing of the light means you can bump it without worry.

Head strap is excellent.

If it gets too loose, adjust a small screw and you'll be good for a long while. I have had this for 6 months and adjusted the screw once. The light stays where you put it.

Battery compartment is a clip style door. No need to track down a tool to change your batteries.

Price is excellent for what you get. A certified good deal.

Highly recommend.

The good amount of light this headlamp produces is the best thing about it. Design is lacking it is too bulky, very large footprint really sticks out on your head. There is a way to adjust the position where the light points but the solution by tightening a screw on the flop. It is not an optimal if you have to pack you screwdriver on a camping trip and it is not great for longevity of this particular part. Basically you get what you pay for.

I've since found 300 lumen headlights at Menards but I have no complaints about this one. The light is bright and it lasts a good 8 hours. I use rechargeable triple AAA's. I like the rubber inside of the band, which helps with sweat. The light has an adjustable hinge that is a must have for this type of item. I'd buy it again.

Honest reviews on Bayco NSP-2232 Night Stick 13 LED Headlamp, Orange

Not a bad light. This is a simple headlamp with 3 modes (center beam, outer beams, combo beams). The orange part is made of a material that is somewhere between plastic and rubber, and it feel nice to the touch. The first thing I noticed is how big this thing is. I already have something similar to a Pretzel, and this thing is around twice the size of my hiking/camping headlamp. The head strap is also a so/so design. Decent elastic, it has little rubbery grips on the inside of the strap to keep it from sliding around your head...and probably pulling some hairs. The size of the strap is limiting...now, maybe I have a huge head, but I have to take the strap all the way out to wear it...and it is still a bit tighter than I would want it for longer wear. My hat size is ~7-3/8. Also, the back of the light is not curved to fit your head...another design flaw that will limit wear time. I think this thing will end up in the Jeep as an emergency light.

My boyfriend repairs trucks and NEEDS a good hands free light. He's tried probably a dozen different units. He found his new love in this light. The one he has is yellow, and was MIA for the past month. You could've sworn a family member was missing for the concern he had. No other headlamp was as good as his yellow one. He would buy the shelves bare, if only he could find a store that sold his yellow headlamp. I thought of having him go to counseling...well, ALMOST. Tonight he found his precious, in a jacket he hasn't worn in awhile. Damned good thing "BAYCO" was on the band, as now that I found places we can buy more (I don't care if they're yellow, orange, black, pink, etc), he owes me something NICE this Valentine's Day. ;)

Needed to light up a rock feature. Got these at home depo 39.97 or so and they are really good, good light, lasts into the night. Had a problem, thought both units were defective, but there's a bubble button on the back of the LED light and press it hard enough and then the light goes on. Broke the stake for the solar panel (plastic) but not a big deal. A nice warm light, wish they had a product with a larger panel & a brighter light but this is the best I've found

I bought 5 of these at homedepot for around $37 each.I mounted them on the backyard fence so that the light is downards. The base is designed for in ground only, i managed to install it on the fence, drove 2 long nails and tied the lamps base with a cable tie, it holds well, These lights gives a nice light, these are not too bright to light up your whole backyard, its very comparable to most of the solar leds out there, The charging panels are nice with a good surface area,The more the surface area of the photovoltaic cells the more charge they generate, there by minimizing the charging time required. It spreads light on my plants and shrubs , they look beautiful in the night with the warm light on them, It also lights my walk way enough so that i can walk without using any light. Im very happy with the purchase, The lights glow for long time, havent checked how long they will glow until the morning, I plan to buy a few more to complete assembling them on my entire back yard fence, wish they were cheaper than $37, i noticed that the price of these have been going up at Amazon, it was $39 when i last saw it listed on Amazon.

There is a Malibu spot light which looks similar to this one but it concentrates more on a spot( little brighter on the spot), these wall wash spread to a greater area and in my view look better and economical than the spotlight.

I will post pictures of the installed lights in my next update. One thing i havent tested is the battery life of the rechargeable batteries, I hope they last longer.

This is the perfect set. Very realistic looking and the remote control makes them very handy to operate. You can put the candles in pillar vases and not have to remove them to turn them on and off. Also, you can set them to turn off after 4 or 8 hours with the remote. Made from real candle wax with the edges having the look of having been used. Set them anywhere, you don't have to worry about kids or pets starting a house fire by tipping them over and no messy wax clean up.

We bought four of these. Price wise, we could not find a cheaper UL rated outdoor fan. Overall they have been good, however we do not recommend them for unproteced areas with the possibility of high winds. We have had trouble with the fan blades working themselves loose over time as the wind has flexed the blades. Given that, we received great customer service when two of the blades came loose, hit the ground, and broke. If you put these in a high wind area, you must tighten the blades from time to time or they will break off. This may be an issue for all outdoor ceiling fans, not just this model. If you live in an area with high wind potential, we recommend not installing outdoor ceiling fans. The two fans we installed in an outdoor wind protected area have had no issues.

I originally purchased this ceiling fan because it was affordable and black in color. Redesigning my room, I went with accent black decor. I tried in vain to find an affordable and high quality black fan. I noticed most 52 inch black fans were quite expensive, until I discovered this option on Amazon. I have been happy with the purchase as it displaces alot of air and goes well in my room.

If you are looking for an affordable, 52 inch black ceiling fan, than this is your buy.

I bought this for an outside gazebo as it is wet rated. The price included a remote control which was a nice extra. The fan itself works very nicely.I would describe it as basic but It is very quiet and exhibits no wobble. Serves our purpose. Will have to see how well it holds up. Shipping was fast and reasonable.

Honest reviews on Yosemite Home Decor Sharon-BL 52-Inch Outdoor Ceiling Fan

I've had this fan for a little over a week now, and overall I'm very happy with the purchase. The fan provides very good circulation on all three speed settings, especially high and medium. It's very quiet too. Aside from the breeze you'd never know the thing was one. The design and color are sleek and it looks pretty cool.

My only complaint is the lights. The light sockets are candelabra style which really limits the types of bulbs that you can use. If you want to change the style or type of bulb you'll need to get adapters so that you can use regular light bulbs. The lighting is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars.

Arrived much sooner than expected, got it in two days, if you live on the east coast don't pay for extra shipping! The description is misleading however, the fan blades are not "teak" they are plastic "teak looking". I was really excited to be getting a fan w/teak blades and estonished by the price. Still very good looking and good for the price. Can't wait to install for those hot summer days!

These night lights are just lovely. It's nice to find products made in America by a small company--a husband and wife team. Look at the images of the night light at the top of this page. The light bulb is encased so you don't blind yourself looking at it. You can turn the screen almost all the way to the right and to the left. Best of all, for me, is that the plug can rotate 360°. My downstairs bathroom has a sideways plug and most outlets require one prong to be larger than the other. So this nightlight will safely fit into any outlet and the picture will still be upright.

Look at the variety of pictures--this is more a work of art than just a utilitarian light! The screen is large and the pictures are very clear and crisp: the image above doesn't do them justice. There are so many stunning pictures to choose from and what's cool is that if you don't find one you like, the owner will custom-make a screen picture for you, like from a photo. He designed this specific LED bulb: he took the standard 7-watt bulb and inserted 2 rows of 3 tiny LED lights which face straight forward when screwed in. So the glow is even and there's no bright spot. The amount of illumination is perfect. (See the special LED light bulb for sale on the Night Light Designs page. I can't tell a difference between the incandescent and LED bulbs but I slightly prefer the latter because it gives off no heat.) The sturdy plastic image is sandwiched between 2 glass screens and if you want to change out the picture, you just carefully pry off the black frame.

The packaging is very well-done and every night light comes with an extra bulb.

This is the perfect product for gifts: who doesn't need nightlights? These are what I will be giving my large family this year and the wonderful thing is, they'll all be different and based on the interests of each individual. I might even have some made with their baby pictures!

------

P.S. The reason I'm putting so many reviews is because I had put up a bunch of bad reviews for a defect in my first light. The owner made good on it so I want to remove the negative effect my reviews may have had.

Took 16 days to arrive from China and weird thing is most of that time was spent in the US.... Customs maybe? You will get a tracking number for these. The bulbs are a compact size, and nice white light. There are 6W. I ordered three for a fixture over a sink. Good price considering most of these bulbs in are normally over $15-20 a piece. But the spot LEDs you can get from a home improvement store are more light 9Ws and are a little brighter. Overall I am happy with them.

I am the composite tool kit manager for our squadron in the USAF. We orderd 32 of the lights 2 each in 16 tool boxes. I used them under some of the roughest conditions. The light is great but cant take to many drops the bulbs are very sensitive. They also get very hot if used for extended periods and the batterys dont last long at all usually around 30 minutes of continous use. Great flashlight but I recomend buying the LED version at 80 lumens or the replacement bulbs.

I picked one of these up recently and am very pleased with it. No one can believe how bright it is. I was able to try out several lights when I got this one and no other could compare. The more expensive streamlight scorpion cost more and was noticably dimmer and the beam was not at all full like this Surefire G2. I plan to keep this one in my pocket and buy a surefire C3 next for the house. This light is excellent for the money you won't be disappointed.

Best Deals for Surefire G2 Nitrolon Single Output Incandescent

I had heard about these lights, but only recently purchased one. The price tag kept me away for a long time. Spending $9 on a mini-mag was reasonable, and I was familiar with them from my years in the military. Dropping $40 to $100 on a flashlight was a hard barrier to cross.

Once you get one of these home and get used to the brilliant light that it produces, you will never go back to a "regular" flashlight.

This flashlight is smaller and lighter than a mini-mag. The mini-mag is a great light to use in the car, around the home, or out in the field. The Surefire is in a completely different category. On a dark night, it will light up your back yard like a floodlight. It's more like a very bright camera flash that stays on until you release the button.

Get one. Get one for your spouse. It's a fantastic flashlight, and has the added benefit of being a great self defense tool.

Honest reviews on Surefire G2 Nitrolon Single Output Incandescent

I recently purchased this flashlight for an annual camping trip. I previously had tactical LED flashlight from another company that I bought for $150 about 5 years ago, which was a very good flashlight. Unfortunately, I lost that one and was looking for a replacement.

I considered purchasing a similar flashlight that I had before. However, considering how easy I lost it, I did not want to spend too much money this time around. Through some quick research, I came across the Surefire brand. My primary goal was to find the brightest LED (clean light source) light I can find that would have an acceptable max performance time. I settled on the fact that 80 lumen seemed to be the appropriate balance based on the available specs. My previous light was a machine tooled aluminum case and I really liked the solid feel of that light. After reviewing the Surefire choices, the aluminum casings were more than I wanted to spend. So, against my earlier desires, I chose the G2 LED for light specs, size (to fit in pocket), and price, despite having a "plastic" case.

First off, I was way more than pleasantly surprised by the functioning of this light. In the woods in near total darkness, this light provides a solid beam that is hard to describe, but is certainly not disappointing. The view distance is much farther than you could think by looking at this light in the daytime. You can see clearly something at least 100 yards away with this light and probably farther than that since I am guessing. As noted above, I put "plastic" in quotes. When you feel this light, you do not worry about the durability, you actually begin to appreciate it. This light feels solid and of top quality. You don't worry about dropping and cracking this light. It feels that solid. Frankly, the lighter weight of the flashlight makes this probably a better choice for those who like to keep a flashlight in the pocket. My previous light was pretty heavy and could pull down sweatpants for instance. This light sat just right.

There are some things that I think could be improved a little. The light has a lockout switch that you engage by turning the cap something like a half turn. You do feel it engage in that mode. What I did not like is that even in this mode, the light would flash on and it seemed that you had to be spot on to make sure it would not come on when you did not want it too. In fact, when I arrived at my trip, I realized that the flashlight was on and eventually I had very little life in that set of batteries and was forced to use my spare batteries sooner than I would like to have. I do think that Surefire should look into improving this lockout mechanism further. I also think that they should provide a carry case too. I know that the lens is made of high quality plastic, but I think people feel better knowing that it is protected in a sheath when storing in a bag with other items. I also agree with the other reviewer that a click on, click off button in the back would be more useful. I found the feel of the push button to be off a bit and I would routinely use the twist feature even for short use. Not a big deal, but something that could be better.

I rate this flashlight in pure light performance a 5 star for sure considering the price. $60+ dollars seems a lot for a light, but this is not a Wal-Mart special. This is worth a few more dollars and I feel that I got my money's worth. I rate the light a 4 star due primarily to the lock out mechanism. I feel it let me down a little since I lost a full set of batteries quickly. When I locked it out before my trip began, I triple checked whether or not it was engaged by fiddling with it, hitting the cap switch etc and it still was on when I brought it out at nightfall. Fortunately I brought spares, but if did not, I would have been using the less powerful "usable" light for the trip. I would describe the "usable" light similar to a mini mag-lite, but probably a bit more bright.

If you are looking for great performance at an acceptable price, I would consider this light if I was shopping again. In fact, if I ever need another flashlight, I will make Surefire my first go to brand.

I love Surefire lights (I own almost every one) but this one might give you the most bang for your buck of the lot. It doesn't burn batteries like the incandescent lights yet it has brightness of one. The ONLY thing I wish it had was a "Click-on Lock-out Tailcap"--but that is something that I think Surefire should put on all their lights...not sell it separately. Very nice light. A+

Lighting Science Definity - A19 Omni V2 - Dimmable - 2700K - 60 Watt Replacement

It took me a while to decide which LED light bulb I wanted. First I wanted a 2700k light bulb (2700k is the standard for home light bulbs. Its not white light, it gives a "warm" light) and a bulb that is equivalent to 60W. The current champ is the Phillips 60W bulb that is currently selling for about $39 but Home Depot has finally started selling the same version in its stores for about $27.

So I ordered this bulb, plus I went to Home Depot to pick up the Phillips version. But I did not like the Phillips version because there is a 1/2 sec delay when you flip the switch. When I first tried the Phillips bulb, for a split second I thought it was broke! I couldn't stand the delay, so back to the store it went. I read other reviews on Amazon, and users reported the same thing, but most reviewers weren't bothered by it. But I was.

I also at Home Depot I tried the EcoSmart 60W 3000k bulb (Lighting Science makes these also, so it looks exactly like this one) but the brightness color was too white, almost like my office at work. 2700k color is perfect for the home in my opinion. When i'm at the office, I need white light to keep me awake. At home, i'm trying to relax, not try to burn my retinas.

Heres the pros and cons on the Lighting Science Group bulb:

Pros:

Instant on brightness. Unlike fluorescent bulbs which take a few minutes to warm up to reach full brightness, LED lights are at full brightness the second you flip the switch! Thats one of the biggest reasons why I went with LED.

No delay when turning it on. As soon as you flip the switch, the bulb is on, unlike the Phillips LED bulb which has a 1/2 sec delay before it turns on when you flip the switch.

The price was great! For under $30 you get a nice LED bulb.

Build quality. The bulb did not feel cheap or flimsy. It felt like a $30 bulb should be. The metal fins around the bulb are made of high quality and keep the bulb cool.

Lighting is the same as fluorescent bulbs. I was worried that the LED bulbs can not spread out the light like a fluorescent bulbs or regular bulb can. But my worry was gone when the LED bulb lit up my room exactly like my old fluorescent bulb did. I could not tell the difference!

2700k warm light. The light is warm just like my old fluorescent 2700k bulb was.

Cons:

The metal fins on the bulb do get very hot after a few minutes. The top light itself is cool to the touch, but becareful when handling the bulbs metal fins after its been on a few minutes. It can burn your fingers. Like most LED bulbs, the bottom contains all the resisters which regulate the power of the LED bulb, which can get hot.

Overall, this bulb is a must have for anyone who wants "instant-on" bulb thats 60W. You will not be disappointed.

I originally gave this review five-stars, which is deserved. I have since downgraded it to four stars because this bulb appears to have been discontinued and replaced by an even better bulb. It does not appear to be available on Amazon just yet but it's available at Home Depot as the EcoSmart A19 12-Watt (60W) LED Light Bulb; Model # ECS A19 WW 60WE (for the 3000K version, they also have a 2700K version but I do not have the model number). The new Definity Bulb is far better at dispersing "omnidirectional" light than the previous one. The previous one is still excellent, but if you're going to drop this kind of coin on new bulbs, that will be in use for years to come, you should buy the latest-and-greatest. This is particularly true given the rapid innovation in this space.

** ORIGINAL REVIEW 09/2012 **

There is a steadily growing industry around building LED light bulbs like this one. The holy grail for them is to make an inexpensive and energy efficient replacement for the ubiquitous standard 60W light bulb that can be sold to millions, or billions, of customers. To that end, a number of companies have flooded the market and your local home improvement store with LED bulbs touting themselves as the 60W replacement, including Philips, Sylvania (Osram), Toshiba, Samsung and a number of smaller brands.

I've tested almost every one of these bulbs, and the Lighting Science Definity A19 is the one that comes closest to achieving near perfection in an LED bulb and, except for the cost, closest to the goal of a universal 60W replacement bulb. Among its many benefits:

1) Superior Dimming. A number of companies build "dimmable" LED bulbs, but their technologies are simply not ready for prime time. The Lighting Science dimming is absolutely flawless -it's smooth and does not exhibit any kind of buzzing at any brightness level. Buzzing is a major problem for some of its competitors such as Sylvania and Samsung, and to a lesser extent Philips, as those bulbs tend to emit a high pitched buzz when dimmed to less than full intensity. I am not sure the reason, but the Lighting Science bulb seems to be the only one I've tested that is absolutely flawless in this category.

2) Well Engineered. It also works well in any type of dimmer that can handle LED/CFL bulbs and has an exceedingly high tolerance for wiring variations. The ceiling lights in my house, for example, have the original "knob and tube" wiring from the 1920s when the house was built, and the wiring is ungrounded and has a greater amount of interference than normal. The other bulbs that I have tested cannot handle this wiring without very noticeable buzzing. The Philips bulb does an okay job of filtering the buzzing out; it's less than the others but still there to some extent. But with the Lighting Science bulb, there is no buzzing at all in any application or any type of wiring I have thrown at it. It's clear to me that Lighting Science put its circuitry through a much more rigorous and robust testing suite than the others.

3) Instant on. You turn the switch and this bulb is on -instantly. You take this for granted in your incandescent bulbs, but most LED bulbs have a noticeable delay of anywhere from a half second to a full second before they come on. I was surprised how annoying this can be with some of the other bulbs. It seems like a small issue when you think about it logically, but we all grew up from childhood with the expectation that when you flip the switch, the light comes on immediately. This is so ingrained in our brains from childhood that it's very hard to get used to a bulb that doesn't come on instantly.

4) Perfect light coloring. This is another area where companies other than Lighting Science inexplicably cannot get it right. There are a lot of LED bulbs out there that advertise "warm" color, but if they don't put the actual color temperature (measured in Kelvins) on the box, you don't know what you're going to get. This is a big issue because we all grew up with incandescent bulbs with a color temperature of around 2600K. Your light fixtures -everything from the color of the glass in your wall fixtures to the design of your lampshades -was designed based on the assumption of an incandescent color temperature of around 2600K. Even the paint on your walls of your house may have been designed, to some extent, based on how it would look at night under the glow of these 2600K bulbs. You mess too much with that magical 2600K color temperature and everything in your home can simply look "off" and ugly.

This Lighting Science bulb has a color temperature of 2700K, which appears to be the "warmest" the LED bulb industry has been able to produce to date. It's slightly whiter than an incandescent bulb but generally looks good in most fixtures. Substantially the same bulb is sold at Home Depot under the "EcoSmart" label, but the "warmest" color temperature that one comes in is 3000K, which is way too white and fluorescent for me. The competitor bulb that comes closest to Lighting Science in terms of warm color reproduction is the Philips 2700K model, but it has a slightly pinkish hue to the color reproduction that is absent with this bulb. The Lighting Science is also superior to any CFL bulb I've ever tested in terms of color temperature.

5) Cost savings and heat. They emit a fraction of the heat, and consume about 1/7th of the energy, as a regular incandescent 60W bulb. Under the bulb there are a series of aluminum "fins" that act as a heat sink for the circuitry inside. Those fins can get somewhat hot but nothing like an incandescent bulb. The heat generated by this bulb is basically comparable to other LED bulbs at the same wattage. You will over the long haul see a reduction on energy costs, but it will take many years for those savings to recoup the higher initial purchase price.

Another theoretical upside that I refuse to acknowledge is the lifetime of LED bulbs -most manufacturers say they will last 50 times longer than incandescent bulbs or around 20 years. Because these bulbs have only been available for a few years, it's way too early to assess whether this claim is credible. I tend to think that this claim is based on the rated life of the LED lighting elements themselves. But the circuitry that feeds the LED elements (the stuff that generates the heat) will likely burn out or malfunction long before that. I've had these kinds of bulbs for about a year with no problems, but that's obviously no indication of whether they'll last as long as the manufacturers claim.

The big downside is price -as noted above, it will take years to save enough money on energy costs to make up for the greater initial cost of this bulb, and that's assuming that you believe the claims that these bulbs will last 50 times longer or 20 years (which I do not). But that's not how I think about these bulbs. I'm not interested in skimping to save a few bucks now when what we're talking about is something that will be "on" for many hours a day providing clean, safe and cool light to your home.

I just purchased a few of these bulbs and they're really great! I love the warm lighting much better than CFL's orangey tone, and the dimming is really smooth. I would recommend this bulb to anyone who needs non directional light and amazing dimming.

My wife and I recently bought a house with recessed lighting in nearly every room, almost all of it on dimmer switches. The lights were power monsters, with big fat halogen bulbs. I set about changing this, and investigating other bulbs.

Th obvious first choice was dimmable CFLs. Unfortunately, the dimming on a dimmable cfl is... Well, it's crap. At the time, I felt that dimmable LEDs were cost prohibitive. Yes, I had heard that the bulbs worked much more nicely than cfls, the dimming effect was much better, you didn't have the light cutting out at a certain voltage, no buzzing like you do with cfls... But come on, it can't be worth that kind of money, can it?

Actually, it is. While the dimming isn't on par with an incandenscent, they're amazing in comparison to cfls. They last pretty much forever, the color of the light is beautiful and warm, the dimming works great, and I'll be replacing all the recessed lightbulbs in my house with these (slowly... They aren't cheap)

Is it worth the cost? Depends. If you don't mind power hungry halogens, keep your halogens. If you want money saving exclusively, go with cfls. If you want lights that dim well, last for ages, have good light color... Well, you're gonna pay for it.

I've been buying LED bulbs for some time, in some cases prematurely. Finally there is a bulb that is as bright as advertised, dimmable, and well-made. I'm very happy with these bulbs.

I received this last month and installed it in less than ten minutes because I had an existing light that I was just replacing. The wires were there just a matter of shutting off the electricity, 2 screws off the old light 3 wires off, match the black, white and green wires with the new light and screw it in. Turn on the power and make an easy adjustment to make the motion detector less sensitive and I was done. My only negative is that I was missing one little screw cap and forgot to complain about it.

I purchased 2 of these for each side of my garage. These lights work very well. They are not overly sensitive. I use the dusk to dawn feature. We live on a hill and away from others and I feel an added security with these lights.

After two winters, this light works without a flaw with CFL light bulbs. It's very easy to install. I'm no electrician and it took me less than 1/2 hour to get it installed.

It adds a classy feel and it is well built and sturdy. It withstood two of NYC top 6 snow storms without any issues thus far.

It's sensitivity is adjustable. So you can control how far the motion sensor detects movement before it turns on.

I no longer need to dig in the dark to find the right key and worry whether I turned the lights off.

This is easily the best investment/purchase I've made on Amazon.com.

this lamp was easy to install and working well. My only issue is that is seems slow to respond when someone is walking up my drive way, but further research shows that the motion sensor works best with side to side motion not direct.
