Purchased this as part of this year's hurricane prep. Pricey . . . yes, but I have never met a more nifty flashlight. Some product design engineer had great fun with this one. My friends and I are amazed.

Not a durable item. Inexpensive plastic, won't stand up to medium level usage. The mag light on same page is far superior, I've owned 2, at similar cost. Item was purchased to go in husbands truck won't take the beating..

I bought this headlamp for those early morning starts at hunting and setting up blinds. Its just like advertised. Had to have a hands free light so I could use my hands for setup. It has a plastic battery compartment and lightweight headband. It appears to be as bright as advertised. The box it comes in makes it appear that youve paid alot more, AND its rechargeable with power cord and battery. It is a light duty light. I have zero complaints and would buy another.

I received this item on time, and this Weiita Starlight Headlamp is pretty cool, very good design. It is very useful to work at garage and outside where light is weak. Good product and I will recommend it to my friends. And it is also a good choice from this price range.

Got this for my dad as a gift, he likes it a lot! It's very bright and light-weight. He did need a little help to figure out how to charge the battery since the "plug-in" spot is tiny and hidden right next to the light at the front. Overall this is a great product.

I bought this headlamp for working in my garage. It is exactly as described. The light is bright enough, and also I can set it up to several modes. The box is beautiful. The power lasts long and also can be recharged. This is a very wonderful product for the case you need hand free light. I recommend this to the customers.

I received the Bliss Spright light in green about three weeks ago. OMG it is so amazing!

You might need to fiddle with how and where you place it to get the right projection image.

It goes so far up into the trees, and on the grass it looks like little speckles of bright green.

Slowly, neighbors have stopped by to ask about the green lights in the trees, they thing they look

great! I'm in fairy land as my hubby says! If you like anything that sparkles, you can't go wrong!!!!

I've tried a few GU10 LED by now and this one is probably one of the best. Using on track lighting with dimmers. A good second is the FEIT which is stronger but slightly colder white http://www.amazon.com/Feit-Electric-MR16-GU10-LED/dp/B005EHHF7K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1334861820&sr=8-1

Pro's

Color comparable to halogen

Fast start

Fast shipping (fulfilled by Amazon)

Reasonable price point 4 for price of 3

Good dimming range (others are shutting down early or takes a few sec to light

Good strength (probably mid range between 35w and 50w) I used to replace the 50w with wider beam (this is misleading as the wider the beam is, the lower light output, so probably replacing a narrow beam 50w will seem to have less light)

Con's

Narrow beam (not critical if you bounce of ceiling or wall)

These bulbs are slightly larger than halogens. This wasn't an issue for me but make sure you have enough space for these

These LED lights are terrific. If you're looking to convert to LED, an important detail that lots of folks overlook (we initially did) is that the light from LED bulbs (no matter what the package says aboout "warm" or "cool" ratings) is often very different from other bulbs it's much colder even in the bigger name brands (like Phillips). However, this is not true with the Eagle bulbs the light looks exaclty "right" and "true"! A few reviews have noted that the Eagles are slightly larger than other brands true. However, I found that with a liittle patience and care, they fit just fine.

Did some research, saw these, gave them a shot. Usual fast shipping from Amazon, got them, they work.

Yes, they will replace 50W halogen.

Yes, cooler operation with warmer color light.

Dim nicely.

Honest reviews on Genuine Great Eagle LED MR16 GU10 120V Warm White Bulb. 50W

Color temperature is same as a halogen, but has a distinct green tint when measured in Photoshop. This bulb also was the heaviest of a group I am testing, with a fairly substantial heat sink. Unfortunately light output does not compare to 50W halogen. Length will be an issue for some when used in track light fixtures, since it is noticeably longer than a halogen. I am using them in recessed can lights so length is not a problem.

These are advertised as 2700K warm white and dimmable, however the color these bulbs give off isn't warm it's a harsh, greenish, almost fluorescent light that's nowhere near the warm glow you get from a halogen. These bulbs also don't work with all dimmers. I have fairly expensive Lutron digital dimmers (tap once to turn on to preset dimmed setting, double tap to turn on to full brightness, and press and hold for delayed dim to off). I installed these bulbs in a three-bulb fixture and even though the dimmer was off, when I removed the last halogen with two LED replacements already installed, the LED bulbs came on and started flickering rapidly. Same result with the third LED bulb installed, just a little less bright. I bought 5 of these and it was a waste of 75 bucks. They are very bright, certainly equivalent to the 50W halogens, but don't dim at the same rate as the halogens do; the LED bulbs have a rapid drop off at the end they stay bright and then suddenly go off as you progressively move the dimmer down. I would not recommend these just based on the color, but if you still want to try I would suggest getting just one to see if it's compatible with your dimmer. Lutron does sell LED specific dimmers (with adjustable controllers to 'calibrate' the dimmer to the LED bulbs), but after spending $200 on new dimmers already, I don't want to have to replace them again with even more expensive types. GU10 fitting, size, and build quality are good.

I wanted a clip light in my car because I am always dropping things under the seat and things like that and wanted a bright light that I could always find. I leave this clipped to my rearview mirror tab and it has yet to fall off. The clip is well made, and the all black case blends in nicely. The LED lights are very bright and the battery lasts a good while. I had bought cheaper versions at the auto parts store, but the clips always broke. This one is great.

Wow! This lamp exceeded my expectations -needed something to fit under the hutch of my desk but yet be tall enough for laptop to sit under it. This lamp surely fit the bill. The satin finish blended beautifully with the satin finish handles on the drawers of my desk. This lamp's light is on a dimmer switch, so the least brightness is great at night as a night light when desk is not in use (if desired), and it's full brightness covers the work area beautifully. It's adjustable -up, down, back and forward. It has such an elegant appearance and, even though the price was not exceedingly expensive, it surely passes for an elegant, expensive lamp. So glad I found this lamp. Only time will tell if the LED bulbs last as long as they should. I trust the Adesso company will not let me down. [Make sure you purchase from Amazon -much less expensive at $127.50 instead of $169.00]

This is an excellent desk lamp. It is tall enough to provide a wide field of light, but not so big as to dwarf the desk.

Honest reviews on Adesso 5090-22 Esquire LED Desk Lamp

On the upside, this lamp is bright. However, straight out of the box the metal surface of the lamp shade shows scratches. The plastic inset that forms the rim of the lamp shade is much more prominent than can be seen from the picture, and it looks very cheap and is also scratched coming out of the box. The lamp shade is mounted crooked, ie. out of line from a 90 degree angle. Overall, this product disappoints. For someone looking for a bright reading light it does the job. But this is priced and designed to be a more prominent decorative piece, and because of low production quality it miserably fails on that count. My first and last Adesso product.

This desk lamp is stylish and functional. The LEDs are dimable, so there is always the right about of light. Also, the light is more natural and there is no flickering when you turn it on, like you get with CFL lights. The adjustable stand allows you to set move the light where you need it. The wider spacing of the lights minimizes shadows. My only regret is not buying it sooner.

Purchased from universewolf Corp, fulfilled by Amazon. Overall the light is solid and on par with your usual Chinese knockoffs, but does come with a few nice features plus it can be improved with a little solder work. It'll run off one battery or an external power source (such as the included charger). Just don't expect the obvious joke of 1600 lumens (more like 300-330 actual), and avoid charging the batteries in the lamp if you can help it.

UPDATE 4/17/2013: After piddling around with a constant level power source, I can pretty much say this is a genuine CREE XM-L LED, binned T6 as labeled in the description. Or at least an LED that matches the basic XM-L T6 specs. The 1600lm measurement is an outright lie no matter HOW you look at it. T6 binned XM-L's rate 280-300 lumens at 700mA (at a forward voltage of 3.1V I think), and XM-L specs max out at 1040lm@10W, a wattage which this lamp never approaches. I'm not sure on the voltage or chromatic binning, but it should accept quite a bit more juice if someone were so inclined.

LIGHT OUTPUT

When I purchased the light, it was listed as a 1600 lumen light. Obviously that's a complete lie. The box even indicated it was around 760 lumens, which is also a complete lie. But again, this is a cheap knockoff probably using a QA failed CREE LED, so you expect those things. But, for comparison, I paired it against my Fenix PD32 which uses a CREE XP-G R5 LED and the same 3.7V 18650 lithium ion batteries that this headlamp takes. The Fenix is regulated and rated at 315 lumens on turbo. This headlamp, by comparison, is ever so slightly brighter. Assuming the Fenix is actually 315 lumens, I'd seat-of-the-pants this headlamp at around 330 tops.

The light pattern is quite solid, however. There's no obvious evidence of the CREE LED outline, and the spill pattern is so close to most of Fenix's lineup it's scary. A bright, solid spotlight fills the center while a generous flood fills the surroundings, all very much to my preference. Comparing it again to the above PD32, the spots are almost identical with this lamp getting about a 25-30% larger flood spill. Good for a headlamp in my opinion.

CONSTRUCTION

Build quality is actually pretty solid for a budget lamp. The lamp holds its place well, it uses aluminum in critical spots for heat dissipation, and has a nice coiled cord for heads of various sizes. The weight between battery pack and lamp is good with a top strap to distribute the load, and the generous use of plastic keeps the package lightweight. I wouldn't trust the waterfastness in anything more than a rain storm, but it should provide enough weather protection for that. The lens is obvious plastic but you can't expect Gorilla glass at this price point. Internally, the soldering is a bit of a mix between good and a mess. The wires look to be sloppily hand-soldered onto the control board whereas the IC's, resistors, and capacitors are all surface mount and machine soldered. Competent enough, and everything is securely mounted internally (at least as far as screws into plastic go), so nothing should rub or work loose during rough times, even the shoddy hand-work.

BATTERIES AND CHARGER

The lamp includes a pair of 3.7V 18650 li-ion batteries. Said included batteries are even more of a joke than the 1600 lumen light output. They're knockoffs of UltraFire batteries (the included ones are branded "UltroFite"). Those of you using 18650s know that UltraFire batteries are largely low quality budget batteries, advertising 4000+mAh but delivering less than 2,000 on a good day. These included knockoffs of already poor batteries are even worse. You'll be lucky to get any duration at all, and despite being labeled as being protected cells, I wouldn't trust the included batteries NOT to go up in flames if significantly overcharged.

If you want batteries that'll actually last, look for 18650's that use Panasonic cells -such as the Orblites or some of the unbranded cells around Amazon. Those batteries ARE properly regulated and fully tested for more then 3100 mAh (or 3700 mAh's for some of the newer models as of this writing). If you're paying less than eight bucks per 18650 shipped (as of this writing), barring a sale or good deal, it's going to be a poor battery or a knockoff.

Speaking of the included charger, it's a shocker -in a good way. It's rated at 4.5V@500mA, and by golly, it puts out 4.5V spot on to the hundredth digit. I've got quality regulated wall chargers costing more than this entire package that don't put out THAT close to exact. Cord length is pitiful, however, at around 1.5 feet.

BUILT-IN CHARGING

One big feature of this lamp is the built-in charging capability. I'll be frank: don't use it unless you can't avoid it. It dumps all the voltage from the charger directly into the batteries completely unregulated. What does this mean? It means that unless you're using protected cells you can overcharge the batteries, potentially damaging them or in pretty extreme cases catching them on fire. I doubt something as extreme as a fire would ever happen with the included charger as splitting 500mA between two batteries usually isn't enough to cause a thermal runaway in cells of this size, but it's something to be aware of, especially if said charger somehow messes up and dumps out more voltage for some reason. Or if you're using poor quality unregulated cells.

As the batteries are wired in parallel, you can use the headlamp with only a single battery. It'll have half the run time, but it comes in handy in some situations. And as a "bonus", because the charging port/circuit is wired directly into the existing output circuit, you can actually run the lamp without any batteries if you use a charger of enough voltage and amperage. Don't exceed the 4.5Vs of the stock charger, mind, as the circuit is unregulated and too much in the way of input voltage can fry the headlamp and/or circuit. This remarkably boosts the utility of the headlamp. Purchase a large battery pack that can put out 3.7+ volts and a few hundred milliamps, mount it somewhere besides your head, then boom -you have a headlamp that can run for hours upon hours upon hours barring a hardware failure.

THAT SILLY RED LED

For some STRANGE reason, the developers included a red LED that lights up the white label on the battery pack when in use. A bit odd as most people would probably recognize when their flashlight would be on or off -as would those around them. I covered it up with electrical tape at first, but removed it later (see below). Silly, stupid, and unnecessary in my opinion. If they wanted to regulate the voltage there's MUCH more appropriate ways to do that cost so little more.

HOW TO IMPROVE THE LIGHT AT HOME

So, want to make the lamp better and brighter? Stock, the LED get's about 2.61 volts using the included charger only, which puts out, say, 330 lumens ballpark. That red LED I mentioned above isn't part of the headlamp circuit, but still draws power. As it was annoying as all heck, I desoldered the red LED and removed it, which pumped the voltage up to ~2.74 volts across the CREE LED and bumping the lumen output to about 350ish. Furthermore, you can jumper pin 5 of the IC (closest to the text under the IC on the left, assuming the same circuit board layout) to the positive feed of the LED. This boosts the voltage across the CREE to about 2.87, netting even more lumens.

Net result, with a little soldering, you can get a boost in light output, though it's somewhat marginal. My only decent soldering gun on hand is a portable butane model I use for splicing wires outdoors, so it's tip was far too big to solder on a jumper wire on the IC's pin, but enough to remove the red LED. I haven't had any issues with heat output since the modification. Now, I'm not sure how this will change the life of the CREE LED in the long run, but it's not like the lamp is using a quality regulated circuit in any event. As usual, your mileage may vary (especially if they change the board design), and any mods you do at your own risk.

The headlamp works great. It puts out more than enough light for high-speed mountain biking at night. However, tested individually, the batteries only have ~750mAh capacity (discharge at 0.7A to a low voltage of 3.0V). In practice, this means that the batteries discharge completely in a little under an hour on high mode in the light. I had read reviews of these Ultrafire batteries warning me to this, but I was fine with it as a high quality 18650 can be purchased for ~$10 per battery. I look at is as having purchased the light without batteries for $30. Still a good deal (especially when compared to purpose made bike lights with similar output.

I used this head light for the first time tonight on a darkened trail near my home. I go speedwalking at least 3x a week at 5-6 miles per session. I was using a cheaper head light which was just OK. I decided to buy the Cree as it was rechargeable and waterproof. Anyway, I went on the trail which is shared by joggers, dogwalkers and bicycle riders. I cranked it up to the brightest setting and was amazed at how much illumination it put out. I could see everything in front of me, for a change, and I'm sure I must've blinded a few people coming from the opposite direction. I'm very sure that I will never go unseen or unnoticed on the trail again.

I am a water hauler in the North Dakota Oil Fields and work at night. I used Headlamps from stores that use batteries and was spending far too much for replacement batteries. This headset in many times brighter than store bought headsets. The battery pack has a red light built into it so your seen from behind. Batteries last full 12 hour shift when used as needed. I purchased the Cree plug in charger and 2 replacement batteries so I don"t have to remove the headlamp from my hard hat to charge the batteries. I just swap the batteries out of the headlamp. HIGHLY recommend this if you work or play at night and need your hands free.

Just want folks to be aware that these measure approximately 6.5" in length, or about an inch longer than a typical-sized incandescent bulb (like 60 or 100 W variety). I was interested in getting one of these to replace the 50/100/150 W incandescent bulb in my living room lamp (the tall, free-standing kind), but found it to be too long as it comes out of the top by about an inch. For now I am waiting for a company to come out with a CFL 50/100/150 equivalent that matches up in size better.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

If you're looking to move to more environmentally-friendly lighting, these are for you. These 3-way spiral fluorescent bulbs are wonderful. I haven't had mine long enough to address the extended lifespan. But they serve beautifully as a replacement for standard 3-way 50-100-150W incandescent bulbs.

The "color" of the light is very warm -not at all like the greenish-bluish tone one usually associates with fluorescent light. It does take a few seconds for the full intensity of the light to develop at the 29W (150W-equivalent) level, so keep that in mind. It comes on fairly dim, then develops the bright light you expect in about 15 seconds or so.

I'm currently in grad school (an older "non-traditional" student), and I do a LOT of reading. I'd been going through standard 3-way bulbs about one every 3 months or so, so I was looking for a more economical solution. The claim for "7 year life" is based on 4 hours per day of use. I know I use mine a lot more than that (more like 18 hrs or so), so I don't expect 7 years. But if they last more than about 24 months, they'll pay for themselves.

Also, my local discount hardware store charges $22.99 apiece for the exact same bulb, so Amazon's price is a good deal.

UPDATE: It's now March 19, 2010, and I'm still using the SAME 3-way CFLs I wrote about above. One of them is in my living room, where it's in use on the highest setting from around 9:00am until around midnight nearly every day; another one is in the bedroom where it's on from around 5:00pm until around midnight. That's right -these are the same bulbs I purchased in January 2008, and they're still going strong. They've MORE than paid for themselves. Maybe I lucked out or something (I've read some of the other reviews from folks who've had problems) -but I'm definitely planning to continue using these, and will be replacing ALL light bulbs in my home with CFLs as the incandescent ones burn out.

Best Deals for GE 47448 12/23/29-Watt CFL (50/100/150-Watt equivalent) Energy

Ok, the short version is this lamp works great. The main concern is if it will *fit* in your lamp, so check the dimensions carefully.

The "color" of this lamp is great and most would never guess it's a fluorescent lamp under the shade. But it's using about 1/5 the energy. It's also brighter than most when first turned on (CFL bulbs take a minute or so to reach full brightness).

There are many reviews claiming this lamp flickers, or only worked as a 1-way lamp, or died an early death, etc. While GE might have some quality issues, a more likely cause is 3-way lamp sockets tend to get "fried" from the extreme heat of 3-way incandescent bulbs (which can go up to 150 watts). 3-way bulb sockets also have less area for the added contact needed for 3-way bulbs which makes them more prone to problems. And the high heat, over time, corrodes the contacts in the socket. All this means 3-way lamps are way more likely to have contact problems. This is the fault of the LAMP not the BULB.

CFL lamps, being electronic devices, don't like to be turned on and off hundreds of times a day which is what's happening if you have a bad socket in your lamp that's causing flickering. So yeah, if you have an old lamp, with "fried" contacts, and you screw *any* CFL lamp in, and it flickers, it will probably have a short life span.

So, while I don't know for sure, I suspect many, if not nearly all, of the people complaining about problems with this (and any other 3-way CFL) bulb, have a bad socket in their lamp. CFL lamps, in their early days, had some major reliability problems. But they've been out for a long time now, have long warranties, and the manufactures have generally figured out how to make them reliable to avoid lots of warranty returns.

So before you screw an expensive bulb into your 3-way lamp, you might want to unplug it and use a pencil eraser to clean the 2 contacts at the bottom of the lamp socket just to be safe (unless it's a brand new lamp). The contacts should be bright and shiny. If they're discolored, dark, etc. you may have a problem.

Honest reviews on GE 47448 12/23/29-Watt CFL (50/100/150-Watt equivalent) Energy

I purchased these bulbs (3 of them at almost $15 a pop) to do my part and replace old incandescent 3 ways. All three worked well upon arrival. It has now been a little over 2 months and not one of the three works correctly. One bulb works when it feels like it...which is rarelyand that actually is a good thing. It's a weird flickering mess. Then the other two only turn on on the second click, so basically it is the equivalent of a one way regular bulb. These were a waste of money for sure. Since throwing them away would be wasteful, I guess I grin and bear it for the next few years...that is, if they lst that long. Probably not..hopefully??

There are better bulbs out there for the money.

I am so thrilled that they came out with energy efficient 3-way light bulbs! These are terrific and I couldn't be happier. There is one word of caution. These bulbs are very large so be sure to measure the height between the socket and the finial. I have nine 3-way lamps for which I purchased the bulbs. The new bulbs fit perfectly into 5 of them. The simple solution for the other lamps was to visit a lamp supply store and purchase new harps for the other 4. (The new harps cost only $1.65 each.) The new bulbs are working very well, and I think you will enjoy them.

Sister had one like this, thought I'd get her another. Recieved it and put in drawer without opening. Then Sandy hit NJ and needed more lights so I opened it. While putting it together I was annoyed at the lack of quality, the fact that 3 AA batteries barely fit in slot, the straps kept falling out of the slots to attach them etc. I took some black electrical tape and wrapped it around the slot openings so it wouldn't keep falling off...

OK, this thing was the best flashlight we had the whole time the power was off! You could move it down to focus on the things you were looking at, you had hands free light to free you up without lugging a flashlight around. And the fact that it took AA batteries meant you could change them without having to get more expensive batteries that all the stores were out of anyway.

They could make it better quality, but for the price and convenience, you can't beat it.

I don't have this headlamp, but I bought several of their "Bombilla LED Energy Saving Lamp" products and they lasted all of 5 minutes. Since I found these while I was out-of-town and there is no info on the packaging, these are a total loss. I would not suggest anyone buy anything that has this brand and "LED" associated with it.

Very very cheap, it lasted 2 days before it broke, clearly made in china, a complete waste of time and money.

I purchased this doorbell because it reflected the shape of my porch columns. The doorbell seems well made; I have not had it long enough to report on the durability.

Amazon has been a great source for my LED conversion from CFL lighting in my home. I have been buying multi-packs of LEDs for a while now and this set has continued to operate longer than my prior purchases. Note: I am using these in ceiling fans that all have 3 light sockets each, so if one LED fails from a pack, it is back to CFL or incandescent until I can try another brand etc. If these continue to hold up better than my prior purchases, I will finish outfitting the other 5 ceiling fans in my home.
