How many different things can a light do? Quite a few! I am attaching a video which shows Lune light doing five different tasks.

✔ The first segment shows Lune light lighting wall art. The top of the light can be rotated and aimed at many different angles. The color changes totally change how the artwork looks. As the color changes it almost looks like the sail boat is moving.

✔ The second segment shows Lune light by itself as a modern shape sculpture. It would fit nicely in a modern style decor.

✔ The third segment positions the lamp to reflect from the wall silhouetting the pottery on top of by book case.

✔ In the fourth segment I put Lune light inside the china cabinet so it can highlight my holiday dishes.

✔ The final segment show this light as ... a burglar deterrent. As I was trying to find a perfect place for the light in my house it occurred to me that the color changes observed from the outside look like TV is on. I have been considering buying a FakeTV FTV-11 Extra Bright Burglar Deterrent which makes the house look occupied when you are away. The Lune light performs the same function but looks a lot prettier. When I am home the light decorates. When I am away it protects! The video shows what the light looks like from the outside. I aimed it at the wall near the window. Note that for burglar deterrent purpose I am using the light on a separately purchased timer so it comes on every evening like a real TV would.

I am also attaching a collage of 6 photos which you can find by following 'customer photos' link under the main photo.

✔ The first photo shows how the Lune light arrived it is very well protected by its packaging.

✔ The second photo shows the light and its power cord. The top section containing the light rotates 50 degrees in one direction and 240 degrees in the other direction. This allows you to select the angle of the light whether you want to light something on the wall, have the light reflect from the wall or the ceiling, etc. The cord is fairly short (56 inches), I really could not reach any of the location I wanted to place the light without using an extension cord. The plug is not polarized. The light is 7.5 inches tall, 8.5 inches wide, 3 1/8 inches thick.

✔ Photos 3 through 5 shows several different colors the light produces and how each shade changes the appearance of the room it is in.

The light has seven preset color options: 5 solid colors (red , yellow, green, teal, blue, purple, white) and 2 changing colors (fast fade 1.5 seconds between colors and slow fade 2.4 seconds between colors). My favorite is the slow fade.

It took a little practice to turn the light off and to change colors reliably every time. I found that capping the base of the light with my open palm works best for me. To turn off the light I hold my palm in place longer, to turn on and change settings hold my palm in place briefly.

I received a sample unit for providing an honest review be it positive or negative. I have no financial interest or business relationship with the manufacturer, and this review represents my independent opinion of the product.

I really like the Lune light not only because it looks good and is a conversation piece but also because it can serve many different functions including making my house look occupied when I am not there.

This light is simply explained as beautiful. It is a round ring the can be adjusted into a different shapes and it has to power to output multiple colors of light. The lamp can be set to light up with one of seven colors from red, yellow, green, teal, blue, purple and white. You can even adjust the brightness of the light from very dim to very bright and you have almost infinite brightness control to set the mood you like for the lighting. The light can also scan the different colors of the light at one of two different rate settings where the color changes every 1.6 seconds or every 2.6 seconds.

The lamp is stylishly made and looks like a modern piece of art. It is available in Alpine White and Sparkling Black. This lamp is so beautiful and easy to use that I made a video of it in operation so you can see how nice it looks. It is ideal as a table lamp, a fireplace mantel lamp, an entry way lamp or put into any room where you would enjoy the effects of its light changing capabilities.

The lamp features a touch control sensor on the inside of the ring on the bottom that allows you to quickly set up the operation the way you want.

* To turn on the lamp just touch the inside bottom curve of the lamp.

* If the lamp is on then tap once to change the colors.

* To dim the color touch the control pad and dim the light brightness to your desired setting and if you go too far then just tap the control area and the color goes to full bright.

* To turn off the lamp continuously touch the control pad until the lamp turns off.

You can shine the light into the inner ring and it is beautiful but you can also rotate the Lune's rotary top. It will rotate 50° in one direction and 240° in the other to allow you to set the shape of the lamp and direct the light in the direction you want. The lamp can be bright in a dark room as the power consumption is 9 watts and it uses Dense Matrix LED technology. It comes with an AC wall power adapter that has a cord that is 58 inches long.

This light is a real conversation piece and it is quite sexy. It is a combination of a mood setting light and a stylish piece of artwork. If you are looking for something beautiful and unique then I recommend that you take a look at this. I rated it at 5 stars.

I like the flashlights brightness.however during charging the cord and flashlight become very hot, also thereis a flaw in the lens when it is at a fine focus . For the price its a decent light and the recharge aspect is convenient .overall I would still recommend purchasing one.

I was looking for a small powerful spotlight for use on my boat and this one is almost perfect. 210 lumen does not sound very impressive for a spotlight but the reflector is very deep and the resulting beam is very tight, very bright and has an amazingly long throw. (Streamlight claims a distance of over 2000 feet.) On high power it does a great job picking out boats at the far end of the mooring field and lighting up channel markers from hundreds of yards away. The low power beam is about as bright as a normal 3 cell flashlight.

The negatives I have found are:

1) It uses C cell batteries which are an extra type to store on the boat.

2) This light really should have a medium power setting because of the over 10X difference between the stun and vaporize settings.

3) Almost everyone who sees it wants to play with it.

Not an issue with the product but Amazon's title for it says "with 12V DC Charge Cord". It is NOT a charge cord it is a power cord. The cord powers the light. It does not charge the batteries.

I've had the Streamlight 44900 spotlight just over a month, using it mainly when walking my dogs when it's dark outside, but also occasionally for extra light when doing household repairs. I bought it to replace my Stanley 12v rechargeable halogen spotlight, which has terrible battery life (five minutes at best before dying a real waste of money that was).

My first reaction when opening the Streamlight's box was that it was smaller than expected, and it felt very lightweight. However, with the batteries installed, it feels more substantial, of course.

I have used the Streamlight for at least 10 minutes daily so far, so that's a total of over 300 minutes, and it's still on the first set of alkaline batteries, and as bright as every. I like the click-stop stand that is incorporated into the design, which comes in handy when I want to rest the lamp down to attend to some task using both hands. The beam is excellent not quite as bright as the Stanley (when it was working perfectly) very white, and concentrated. It easily picks out trees and other objects a quarter of a mile away, which is ideal for me keeping an eye on three active dogs in our very large yard (over 3 acres). I bought it as a search aid just in case a dog breaks out of the invisible fence and takes to the woods surrounding our home the Streamlight seems perfect for this purpose.

I can't say how long the batteries, bulb or casing will last, because it's so new, but so far, I am very happy with it, and would happily recommend it to family and friends.

Update December 2011 this flashlight is still working perfectly, after daily use, and I am only recently onto my second set of batteries. It is one of my better purchases in recent years! Well done for an excellent product that does everything its makers claim. 10/10

Update June 2012 still working perfectly. This flashlight is still used daily. Battery life and beam quality are excellent. Still on original bulb, too!

This LED Spotlight is very well designed as are all of the Streamlight products. It is light, rugged, water resistant and very well built. Do not be fooled by the 210 Lumen output. I have other LED flashlights with the same or even higher Lumen ratings but nothing can compare to how well this beauty projects the beam. The Parabolic Reflector is the best I have ever seen for its size and it easily projects a bright beam at least a city block. Other portable lights are lucky to project a beam much over 50 feet. Peripheral Illumination is surprisingly good considering the strength of the beam. I think that the size is perfect for a spotlight as it is much smaller than comparable LED lights that I have seen in sporting goods stores. I could not find any other manufacturer that could beat the 8.5 hours of run time with this Lumen rating. The lifetime guarantee is the best in the industry and I highly recommend the Streamlight 44902.

When I read the review for this spotlight, I could see that it was tailored for boating. While I used to do a good bit of boating, I was more interested in a light that I could use on our small horse farm: something that could pick out details at the far end of a three acre horse paddock.

This light fits the bill.

I've purchased a number of spotlights and searchlights over the years, and what I was looking for was a portable light that I didn't have to worry about recharging with a transformer type charging cord. I had previously purchased a spotlight that could be recharged with AC power, but it was a good bit heavier and stopped working after just a few months. I was unable to determine if it was the battery or the bulb because it didn't appear that a replacement for either was easily obtainable (if at all). I bought a similar light made by Stanley, that did require a dedicated DC cord for recharging, but unfortunately that light stopped working within just a few weeks for no apparent reason.

I decided to try this light even though it isn't rechargeable.

While this light can't be recharged at all (you either have to use the 12V power cord or four C batteries), the light output is tremendous. The main light is pretty tightly focused, but there's no problem illuminating an object 400' away. There's enough ambient spill to make it useful for chores around the place at night, but it shouldn't be confused with a searchlight or general use flashlight. I've also used the lower intensity setting and would compare it to a good 4 D cell Maglite at that setting. I also own one of the larger (and heavier) Streamlight "Litebox" units, but I find myself grabbing this light more often because it's so lightweight yet powerful. Even with the C batteries loaded, it's no strain to carry and the lanyard is convenient for when you don't need to aim the light, but need both hands.

It appears to be well built and I'll update this review in the future to provide feedback on durability. For now, for the price, I recommend this spotlight.

UPDATE September 17, 2013: I've had this spotlight for going on ten months now and, as the sun sets earlier each day, thought I'd update my review. I continue to be satisfied with the light. Of course, I didn't use it as much during the summer with longer daylight hours, but I did use it some. Last winter and spring I'd estimate that I used if for a few minutes (checking on horses, etc.) two or three times a week and I continue to be pleased by the light weight, excellent illumination at a distance, and durability. I've installed the holder next to the garage door, just on the inside wall, where it's handy for me to grab on my way out.

Battery Life: While I haven't used it for hours on end, I have used it enough to compare it to the rechargeable models I've used in the past. With those models I would have needed to recharge the unit at least three or four times since last December. With this little spotlight, I'm still operating on the 4 C Batteries I installed when I first purchased the light (batteries sold separately).

Excellent spotlight highly recommended.

I bought these lights for my emergency kit in case power is out, but then I ended up using them all over the house. They are great! Love them! My daughter wanted one for inside her play-house, I put one on the hot tub dial that I can't ever read at night, and my son took one camping. The light is really bright, I was surprised, LED will really shine big areas. The power goes out a lot where we live during monsoon season, so I'm buying more just to have by all our beds for middle of the night with no lights. My daughter is still scared of the dark so will calm her to know where to find a light. One night she lost her flashlight even though it was right near by, so sticking a Microlite instead to her bedside table will mean she knows exactly where it is if the storm knocks out the power. They look different than other lights, a very cool design to it, they are small you can open it no problems. I give a high recommendation for Microlites!

Most handy LED lights I've seen or used. I use them everywhere, especially for power outages, common where I live. I like the magnet function for the fridge. My son can't stop playing with them too, fun for kids. The design is sleek and attractive. It will light up a huge area, for example I use it under our house. You can really use them all over the place, not to mention camping.

Oh my gosh what an AWESOME product. I will buy many more for Christmas stocking stuffers, birthday presents etc. I put one on the side of my house back door because I could never find the key hole and hate drawing bugs by leaving on the porch lights. My granddaughter wanted one (she is 4) so I put one on her bike so we can take early evening walks and she can see the street better which prevents her from riding into pot holes (we have a very dippy road). Also I bought one to put on all my remote controls

(nothing like lying in bed watching TV in the dark and hitting the wrong button). My son put two in his closet, one on both sides because there aren't lights in there. My husband is trying to find all kinds of uses for it especially since he put one on the baseboard of our bedroom (he gets up several times through the night and got tired of stumping his toes) so now he doesn't have to turn on a lamp, he can find his way easily by popping this little light. I ordered the MicroLite to light my TV remote, which is just a tad shorter than the Comcast remote shown in the MicroLite advertising. The light is more than bright enough for me to see my remote in the dark. And the pop-up design allows me to hold the remote and operate the light with one hand. However, the light is simply not tall enough to light all the keys on the remote. I added a 1/2" high spacer block underneath the light and now the light adequately illuminates even the keys at the top end of the remote. MicroLite should introduce a model with the light at a higher elevation off the mounting surface. Or they could add plastic spacer blocks to the standard offering, just like they add magnets for mounting to metal surfaces.

Review of Halo H47ICAT 6-Inch Housing for Sloped Ceilings

I just purchased and installed 24 Halo H47ICAT cans for sloped ceilings in a house I'm building. They're certainly easy to nail to the rafters. However, before you install them, plan to spend 15 to 60 minutes per can to repair them and prepare them for installation. Because of the flimsy metal, poor packaging (these were shipped in their original boxes), and outrageously poor assembly, every unit needed to be repaired. The nailing flanges and mounting rails on every unit needed to be bent back to the original shape and reworked so that the units would slide smoothly on the the mounting rails. Even then, the rails kept jumping out of the tabs after they were nailed to the rafters and the unit was slid along the rails into position. On a third of the units, some of the tabs that held the outer round can to the flat bottom metal were not fastened so that the unit basically pulled apart. To fix these cans, I had to disassemble the entire unit and reattach the outer can to the base. In one instance I had to drill extra holes because the screw holes no longer lined up. To fasten the cans so that they don't move along the rails once installed, don't bother with the screw provided for this purpose. Half of these screws were improperly angled and did no good whatsoever. Some of the units were missing the screws that were

supposed to help secure the mechanism that holds the light bulb. While you're getting replacement screws, get extra materials to repair the foam insulation on the bottom of the unit. This was damaged on a third of the units. Also, the material used to make the units airtight was improperly installed on several units so that the material didn't cover the air gap. I'm fearful that the electrical components are of the same poor quality and that these units are a potential fire hazard. So, I plan to build forms around them and not let them come into contact with insulation. My recommendation is to never but anything from Cooper Lighting, the makers of Halo.

I did have to straighten out a few bent tabs and the overtemp sensor wasn't in it's clip right. But after few adjustments, it's a quality fixture. Make sure you center the light with the hole in the ceiling before you nail it in as it tends to slip down to the bottom of the hole then the trim piece won't cover the entire hole.

Good solid light. Take in note, this is made in china, so if thats not your thing, go buy a surefire.

Light is solid and well made. Additional tape switch that can be purchased seperately is decent as well. The throw on this isn't quite as direct as with a Surefure Fury, but is still decent. Peripheral area is lit quite a bit more than the Surefire, which can be a good thing. Doesnt reach quite as far imo as the Fury however. Take in mind while it may not shine quite as far as its 500lumen competitor, the peripheral coverage quickly evens things out. IMO this doesnt replace a surefire light, but can be a cheaper alternative similar to say a Streamlight Protac. imo the tape switch and clicky taillight, as well as the 2 button tape switch and tail cap are a major plus. Will buy again.

With some trepidation I ordered this set of bulbs, not being familiar with the manufacturer or company shipping it. I could not, however, ignore the price. I'd been paying anywhere from $6.75 to 7.98 per bulb at local stores, and even figuring in shipping, these bulbs were just $2.91 each! More than 50% less than any of the other bulbs purchased in the past. Quite a deal.

I also decided to go with them because if buyers were having problems with the bulbs or the seller/shipper, I think Amazon would pull the product and I trust Amazon's integrity and business sense.

We've installed and are using 3 of the bulbs since they arrived (promptly & well packaged) several weeks ago. They went into fixtures without any problems and I can tell no difference between another (well-known maker) bulb being used next to one of these in color or intensity. We would definitely purchase these again. Feel free to check back with me in the months ahead to see if they are still working as well as they are now.

Bought the 6-pack GU10 bulbs for about $12 from Saturn Products fulfilled by Amazon. When they arrived it was the Feit Electric BPQ50MR16/GU10 50-Watt Halogen Reflector Flood Bulb with GU10 Clear Base with the 2000 hr. life span. From past experience I do not get the claimed life span from Feit bulbs about 2/3 of it. The GE and Phillips bulbs last much longer for me, however, they are very expensive at Lowes or HD. At this price it is a very good deal, if you don't mind replacing them frequently.

Even a better deal came up as I was waiting for the shipment. The price went down to $8 for the 6-pack. So I ordered some more and guess what I got... another 6pack of Feit (2000hr. or less)GU10 bulbs. I guess I am set for a couple of years as I wait for some good GU10 LEDs that has 400 lumens brightness.

Update 3/12/13:

I've been using the Feit bulb for about 6 months until it failed. Based on my rough calculations I got about 900 hours of life span. As I suspected I got less than half its expected life. I wish they were honest or more realistic about the life span.

Update 8/19/13:

Well its been almost another 6 months and I have to admit Feit is very consistent with their bulbs... the second one also lasted about 900 hours before it blew. Feit should advertise these GU10 bulbs with a lifespan of 900 hours or less. Unfortunately, even at this good price at $1.34 per bulb, three Feit bulbs equals one GE bulb, so about the same price at the end. I guess you get what you pay for holds true. Bummer I have to deduct one more star for these bulbs have a poor lifespan.

The packaging of the 6pack was good. It arrived on time. And I was happy. I was asked for my feedback twice, but am glad I delayed writing feedback for them. One out of the three bulbs I installed in the kitchen fused within 2 months of purchase. I believe that the expected life of these bulbs should be much more. Disappointed with the bulb that fused out. Not sure if I should be making another purchase with them.

Best GE 45606 Z-Wave Technology 2-Way Dimmer Switch Deals

I've had this product installed for a few days now and figure I'll share some of the good and bad

Pros:

-Dimmer switch that looks great (doesn't have a slider, just hold in the switch up or down position to dim)

-Easy to install and use Z-Wave feature

-Works flawlessly with z-waves remote, on/off, dimming, it's great!

-a little switch on the bottom pulls out killing all power, great for replacing bulbs or doing any work on the circuit

Cons:

-the unit's mounting plate is wide making it hard to mount next to another switch

-makes a slight buzz only when dimming (can only be heard only from about 2 feet away) the last person exaggerated a little bit, or possibly had it under a higher load than it is rated for

-Blue LED is bright and might be annoying as it is always on when the units circuit is off

I haven't tried to use it in any scenes but paired with the logitech harmony 890 pro it works flawlessly, on/off and dimming is so easy and impresses everyone! It is a decent piece of equipment that will be sure to impress others. I highly recommend this product to anyone using Z-Waves in their home.

I have about 4 of these units in my home and have been using them for about 3 weeks now.

The unit is pretty sturdy and has a clean look with a large rocker switch and no separate dimmer slider. To raise or lower the light level, you just hold the top or bottom of the rocker until you get the brightness you want, as opposed to tapping the top or bottom of the rocker to turn it on and off. When turning lights on or off, the lights don't come instantly on or off. Instead, they slowly fade on/off over a period of about 2 seconds. Personally, I found this to add a touch of class to the unit and like this feature, but I can see how some people might become annoyed with it.

There's a blue LED light located below and to the right of the rocker switch that allows you to easily find the switch in a dark room, but like other reviewers, it was too bright for my taste. Another well-meaning feature that could be better executed is the air-gap tab just to the left of the blue LED. This tab can be pulled out to cut power to the light when changing a bulb, which saves you a trip to your circuit breaker panel. However, the tab is really small and nearly impossible (for me at least) to pull out with my fingers. Instead, I have to use a small flathead screwdriver for the job.

Installation of the dimmer was simple, much more so than the non-dimming Z-Wave switches from GE. There are really just two wires to connect -line and load -and you're done. There's an optional ground wire, but I just left it disconnected. Like someone else mentioned, the unit itself is pretty wide because of a metal frame around it that apparently acts as a heat sink. You can, however, remove the tabs on the sides of the frame to narrow it a bit. (I just used a pair of pliers and bent them back and forth until they snapped off.) Even so, it's still a tight fit when you have two of these units side by side in a 2 gang box.

Setting the dimmer up with a Z-Wave controller was straight forward and worked flawlessly for me. Just tap the rocker while the Z-Wave controller is in an add device mode, and the controller should discover it. I've used this dimmer with the Schlage Link and Vera systems with no problems.

I have installed these and others in 4 homes so far and they are very reliable. HOWERVER, they are not very forgiving if you make a mistake while installing that a normal switch would shrug off. This fact is especially true for the 3-way switches due to the additional variables so... (besides the obvious reasons) please shut off your power. Some have mentioned that they are "too wide", to this i say read the manual and break off the side fins but only if necessary as they help dissipate heat, just stay under 300 watts. These are not passive switches and do draw current so think more computer and less toggle switch. Among the other wires they NEED a proper ground to be secured, preferably first. This can cause an issue for some older or even newer homes when it comes to the required and supplied wires within the box. I would strongly suggest downloading the PDF before you buy. Added note: Neutral is NOT a ground and visa versa. Off the top of my head I can think of 3 reasons why that is a bad idea and they mostly involve the death of sensitive electronics.

In regards to LEDs... Unfortunately LEDs typically do not reach the 40 watt (3-way dimming switch kit) minimum indicated in the PDF manual. Unless your planning on using many LEDs, this will not work as a bright LED bulb is about 7~ watts. I was able to get 4 of the LEDs linked below to dim PERFECTLY when i added a single recessed 40 watt incandescent bulb to the load. You MIGHT get away with using a quartz resistor rated for more than wall current in parallel with the LED bulbs as i did with the recessed incandescent. ~500v rating to be safe (surges etc), ~1k ohm, and as low of wattage as you can get away with. You would need at least 4+ bulbs under the same switch to use NO more than a small ?15 watt resistor(as resistors turn current into HEAT). This works theoretically and is far from EnergyStar. You must remember these are NOT analog dimmers thus they do not use resistance to dim. These (as with all digital dimmers that I know of) turn the lights on and off 100+ every second to achieve dimming. Not to mention that most LED bulbs have their own circuitry to contend with and not all will respond so rapidly. but perhaps. Side note: This dimming technique is particularly detrimental to even dimmable compact florescence and will kill them fast. If you NEED LEDs and don't want to go through field testing you might want to stick to z-wave ON/OFF switches (45609,45614) and not z-wave dimmers (45606,45613).

The Designers Edge product photo and description falsely imply that the lamp as shown is 16 inches tall. I purchased the lamp based on that claim. The lamp is 16 inches tall only if the overly long, not shown, tail piece is attached. The is false advertising.

It is true the light does come with a tail for the bottom, which is not pictured here. The Tail is optional. They really should provide a picture for both options. I purchased two of these for my location here in Fairbanks, Alaska. During the summer it does not get dark at night so I have not had a good chance to evaluate how well it works until now. The sun sets about 9:35 pm at this time of year and the lights work well. Easy to install. The light has three sensitivity settings: High, Medium, Low. I just set mine to High. Then the time option has test, 2 minutes, 6 minutes, dusk to dawn. The test option lets you see if the light is working during daylight hours. The dusk to dawn option will turn the light on when it gets dark enough in the evening and leave the light on all night until it gets light enough for it to go off.

I bought the package of 10. I needed only 5 but th eprice was good. Its a good thing it came as a 10 though. The first 5 flickered lower and lower and went dead within 2 months. I already had 5 more so I used them. If all of the first 5 died then I can guess that the other 5 will last 2 months also. If that happens I will be looking for more bulbs which means more money. Is this a good deal or not? I would say No, because they dont have longevity. It may be better to find another manufacturer and look at reviews for something that lasts longer. Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Bulbs were of a very inferior quality.....flicker was often almost a non-existent flicker, leaving the filament lit. Bulbs burned out after an extremely short length of time. I found flicker bulbs from a different manufacturer that were more expensive and were worth the extra cost. They were reliable. Seek a different brand.

I have been looking for these light bulbs for over a year. Never thought of looking on Amazon! Well I finally did and these are just the right size for my Halloween chandelier. The bulbs that came with it are small, like a nightlight size. But these are huge and look so much better. The base fits so that's all that matters. Good thing they are a pack of 10 because 2 didn't work and 1 came broke. The packing was horrible. I'm surprised more weren't broken. But thankfully they were not. Overall, I am pleased with my purchase.

We have lampshades that rest over the light fixtures and no other bulbs will fit. They are actually a little brighter than a standard 60W incandescent bulb. We've had these in half our lights for over 3 years and have not replaced a single one.

Great light, one of my favorite tools. Lasts several hours on a full charge before it starts dimming. Provides a pretty good amount of light in either mode. Yellow stands out.

Magnet in the bottom is kinda nice, but not strong enough to really stick it to something horizontally and have it stay put. It MIGHT hang upside down by the magnet, but I wouldn't count on it. It WILL hold it in place if you stick it on the frame under your hood or the edge of a computer case (careful with magnets in there), etc.

The joint is pretty stiff, and I don't anticipate it ever not holding it's position.
