This light works very well. The light can be pivoted to direct the light as needed. The flourescent bulb does not generate the heat of a halogen bulb so the work area stays cooler. The only shortcoming of this light is the power cord. The cord is only 6 feet long and comes from the lamp on top of the stand. If it came with a 12 foot cord I would have given this a 5 star rating.

The only reason I'm leaving a review is because I would like to know if anyone knows where or how to get a replacement lamp for this fixture (mine broke on first use it was my fault for tipping it over for the record...but it did fall on carpet...). I can't find any for this model.

As far as function: good stuff.

I bought this to provide portable lighting for backyard night events and for illuminating dark work areas. The 360 degree illumination eliminates the need to reposition the lighting. The light itself is very bright. My only criticism is that it is not water proof. Althought I admit I won't be doing any painting or barbecuing while it's raining.

For a work light, this is little more than a regular house lamp. I tried to use this lamp while drywall mudding a 6' by 9' bathroom. Not even close to enough light.
