This bulb was brighter than I expected. The color temperature of 2700K is similar to a regular bulb. It installed easily and looked great.. I purchased my bulb at Home Depot for $49.00. I bought only 1 to see if I liked it. I will need 5 more for my family room. I will save almost $15.00 per bulb for the remaining 5 bulbs, by buying them on Amazon. They'll probably get cheaper, but this is an excellent price.

I also bought some of these at Home Depot as a test of the product before doing all of my can lights with them. The color is a pleasing white, very similar to what the GE Reveal bulbs put out, much whiter than the standard light bulbs, which look yellow in comparison. My 4 can lights in the kitchen went from 245 watts (measured) to 38 watts, with visibly the same brightness, maybe a little more now with the LEDs. There's no flicker or noise that I could detect, and only maybe a half second delay when you turn the switch on.
Installation was a piece of cake unclip the springs for the bezel / lamp mount, unclip the socket from the lamp mount, screw the socket onto the bulb, and push it into place. Comes out with a twist, the arms retract and it lowers right out.

These bulbs maintain their whiteness and appear whiter than their incandescent counterparts across their entire dimmable range. They emit a warm white light that appears very pleasant even at dimmed levels, making the incandescent ones appear too yellow by comparison. After installing one our living room, I decided to replace all four with these. The fit was perfect and installation was easy. Construction quality is top notch. I can't say enough good things about these bulbs. They appear to be the first LED bulbs that are a compelling replacement for me and recessed fixtures of this kind.

Never thought I would gush over a light bulb but these are fantastic. I bought three as a test from HD as well as other brands like Commercial Electric to go as a retrofit into my remodeled Halo can lights (Halo 99RTAT). Once I found the right ones I returned and bought in bulk on Amazon. The lights come on instantly, are surprisingly bright with a beautiful color rendering unlike other brands. I ended up putting them though out my kitchen, dining and living room. Love the smaller 4 inch can. Not to big not to small. They screw right in a Edison Base which is super convienient. You save on buying the trim for can lighting because the bulb itself has the trim. The light diffuses nicely instead of casting a beam. The only potential question I have is whether the stated wattage is correct. The HD store had a 9.5 watt Ecosmart 6" similar model plugged into a Kill a Watt tester and it seemed to draw about 18-20 watts. Not a deal breaker given the beautiful light but it does make me curious given the premium price. One more thing, I'd reccomend a LED suitable dimmer like the Lutron Diva as the light is bright and it's nice to dim. Very very pleased so far.
