I purchased all the "animals" (TRex, Brontosaurus, and Owl) for my three sons, so my opinion is based on three items and not merely one. Foremost, my boys LOVE their nightlights. Even the two year old twins can use the button to set it to the color they want. Having the option of keeping the light on all night or having it turn off after 30 minutes is a nice touch. The downside, however, is that the charging station is not well made. One is already broken and we've only had the item for a week! The children haven't been playing with the charging stations, so it's just through normal use that the little piece of metal is depressed to the point that it doesn't make contact with the nightlight and thus does not charge it. We like it enough to exchange in and give it another try, but agree with previous reviewers that this shouldn't be expected to last for the long haul.

UPDATE: I'm leaving my original review below but after using it for a few months I felt the need to update. This nightlight is awesome in theory and was great for the first few weeks. However, both of our nightlights broke. The first one didn't work when we got it and the company promptly replaced it. The second one malfunctioned after a few short months of very gentle use. I'm really disappointed since my sons loved it and became accustomed to sleeping with it on. I really wish this company would get their act together and find a different manufacturer. I'm not sure if this is made in China or what but I would be willing to pay more for something made domestically that lasted. So sick of the disposable products that penetrate the market nowadays.

This nightlight is GREAT for my 1 and 3 year olds. Love that it has a setting that turns off automatically or you can leave it on all night. But probably the best thing is the company which was such a pleasure to communicate with when the first product I received was defective. They replaced it so quickly, I literally got it two days later in the mail! It's such a welcome change from the usual runaround you receive from other companies.

First of all, it's not just a nightlight. It's made of nontoxic plastic that gives a bit when you squeeze it, is lit by an led light that changes colors, and is never hot to the touch. It comes with a charger (the blue disc the dino is sitting on) and a 6-foot long power cord. My dino wasn't charged when I received him, but it took only a few seconds to plug the charger in and place him on it. I was delighted to see that he started glowing and changing colors immediately so we turned the lights off enjoyed a beautiful light show!

It took me awhile to figure out how exactly to change the settings from all-night glowing to 30-minute auto shut-off, but once you get the hang of it it's not a problem. There is only one button and you have to follow the instructions exactly to get it to stay at a certain color all night or for 30 minutes. You can see exactly how it works at the KinderGlo website, and the instructions are also included in the setup guide that comes with the nightlight. Not the most simple and straightforward method of changing the settings, but it is doable. And very rewarding. :)

It's hardy enough to be played with and is BPA free, too, so I haven't been worried about my 3-year-old playing with it. Everyone who has seen ours so far has asked where I found it and it's a hit with other children, too. I would love to be able to get one for every kid I know!

I ordered this light for my 20 month old son who's room has no exposed sockets for a traditional night light. It is super cute and he has loved it from the get go. For the hour before he goes to bed, he carries his "dino" around with him everywhere. We place it on the charging base outside his crib at night and love the fact that if he wakes and needs it, it comes on just by taking it off of the base. No fumbling with buttons half asleep in the dark. It is not very big, but lights up the room just the right amount to keep him happy. The colors are great and the transition through them is smooth and calming.

I did have a problem with my charging base shortly after we started using it, but I contacted Blue Moon at their email address listed on the light instructions and received a response the next day. They were very helpful and I received a replacement light within a week. I have not had a problem since and would not hesitate to order this product again. It is now a must have item in my house and I have recommended it to all of my friends with young children.

My daughter really hates to sleep in the dark. We went looking for a nightlight for her and we came across the Kinderglos. She was so happy to see all the different styles. We bought the Brontosaurus. It is soft and very cute. She can hold it in her bed at night and I don't have to worry about it hurting her at all. Its exactly what we needed for her to stay in her room at night. She can shut it off or turn it on all by herself, even her little brother likes it.
