We bought this as an alternative to leaving our porch light on all the time. It produced a strong light and motion sensor worked as expected, however after 3.5 months, it stopped worked. The return period already ended so we contacted the seller looking for help with trouble shooting the issue because we actually liked the product. Brian responded in a day and let us know he was shipping out a replacement and included a return shipping label. WOW!! That's the kind of service that every company should provide. So even though it was 3 stars initially because of the unexpected malfunction, we feel confident in bumping up the rating because of how this seller really stands behind their product and customers.

OK, so let me start this out with: I have mine located on the North/NorthWest side of my house, so the poor thing is already having an uphill battle with Winter Sunshine. Then, we have had many, many weeks of gloomy weather, which is rare in South Texas. But THIS LITTLE GUY IS AMAZING!

I want a little light to illuminate the exit from our screen porch, where the dogs go in/out. It does this wonderfully! The "night light" option is EXACTLY what I was looking for... and the "flood light" is more than I had expected.

This product is perfect for what I was searching. I want something to run all night, with just a little light so I can see if there is something (skunks!) near the back door BEFORE I let the dogs out, and IF something is milling around, it is clearly highlighted by the motion sensor's flood light!

I have mine set to Super Sensitivity because I want it to Flood when something little (skunk!) or the dogs are near it.

It has adjustments for sensitivity and flood duration, so it is fully customizable for your application. If you don't want it to pop on for dogs, but something larger (intruder) then you can set that or if you are like me and want it to alert you to smaller critters, it can do that, too!

I've been warned that the Smaller Critter Setting will drain my solar storage over night, but I have not experienced that issue. It charges up enough during the day (even with our gloomy Winter weather this year) to run as a night-light all night and is ON in the mornings when I am up and headed to work.

Now, all of the above said -because of the placement that I want, I had to install a small portion of 2"x4" behind my unit, to get him out past the edge of the shingles so he could charge up sufficiently. If you are going to use a location where he does not get a good 6 hours of sunshine every few days, then you will need to adjust his location in my case, I adjusted his location OUT a little further so he'd get more light.

It is bright -probably a 75W incandescent (?) when on night light; and a good 100-150W when on flood light! Lights up a 10' radius when on low, and a good 20' when on flood!

I am beyond pleased with this Solar Light! I am seriously thinking about picking up another couple, and one of them may need the (optional) external solar charger for up-under-a-patio...

I have this on the south side of my garage, it gets sun most of the day, it has never run out of power and it comes on all night long when ever something moves. If you need it somewhere that is shady in the day it can be charged from a external solar panel. It has sensitivity and range controls that get covered from the elements with a snap on cover on side. They even made a template inside the box so you put the screws in correct and level. This is installed on the lip of the garage so when it rains it washed off yet has been waterproof so far. It lights up estimate 15-20 feet out and enough light to see steps on the back porch 30 feet away. Cold weather is here, it this makes it through the winter as well as the last few months I will buy more. As I said best I have owned so far, I have been trying solar lights for at least 14 years.

Update 9/13 still going strong as day one, very happy.

When I originally purchased these lights I could not get them to function properly. They would come on when motion was detected even in the day time and I gave them a one star rating. I called the company and the representative talked me through the proper way to set them up. Upon first use, you need to turn the sensitivity and range down and then set them to the "on" position. Walk away for awhile and then come back and make your adjustments. They work great now. This is a very good product with great customer service.

I love this self contained solar light/panel. Light & panel are both contained in one unit, making it easy to install & not cumbersome looking. At night is decently bright (maybe a 60W bulb). I have many solar lights on my 20 acre property some costing up to $150 each. This one is my favorite, however...

however...please look at the picture of this product. Since the solar panel & the light are self contained, you must install it in a way that the solar panel is facing the sun & hopefully the direction of the light is where you need it. You cannot alter the light vs. the panel position, therefore this unit will probably have very limited applications. I would purchase more units but typically I need the light to shine in a direction that puts the solar panel in a low sun gathering position.

Otherwise this light seems solidly built & is bright enough to light an area maybe 20' X 20".
