I chose 4 stars because the actual product is very nice and would have worked great for my kitchen, but it is much bigger than the standard halogen 20W bipin. Because of this it did not fit in the undercabinet puckights I had in my house. The CCT was 2700k (warm white), but the color rendering wouldn't be great for art or displays.

Lighting facts:

170 lumens, 2700K (Says on package.)

Probably 85 CRI (My guess.)

Use this for an application where there is enough room to fit the light, since it is bigger in size than the halogen version. Also, it is directional, so you would need to use it in a fixture that only puts light out one direction.

If it had fit in my undercabinet fixtures, I would have bought a bunch more and done the whole kitchen.

Overall: Recommend, but be careful about the size.

I've tried a couple of other LED G4 lamps for my under cabinet lighting, and this one produces light that is much brighter and far better quality than others. It fits in the fixtures I have (the type with a round, 2 inch diameter shallow well for the lamp, with a glass disc diffuser in a metal ring that snaps onto the well). But the size of this lamp prevents the diffuser from fitting on the fixture once it is installed. It's suitable for use in places where you can't see the fixture, but if the fixture is visible it doesn't look good without the diffuser. Note that this is a directional bulb: it works in downlights, but you wouldn't want to use it in an application that requires

light cast 360 degrees.

I installed about a dozen of these in undercabinet kitchen counter lights to replace 20W halogens. They installed easily and fit the strip fixtures well. The lamps deliver bright, crisp white light, with very nice color fidelity. Run much cooler than halogens objects and food under the lights don't warm up. The lamps are expensive, about 3X the cost of equivalent halogens, but I hope to not have to replace them any time soon. This alone will be worth the cost, as the undercabinet location is physically awkward to reach, and it seems I was having to replace a halogen every week or so, with the attendant complaints from my back and neck. Any energy savings will be a bonus. (20W 3W)x 12 x 2 hrs/day x 365 d/yr x 5.5 cents/kWhr = $8 /yr
