This is one of 5 LED GU10 lights I have tried to see if I can find one to replace the hot, power hungry halogen lights in my home's track lighting. This bulb dims and has a better dimming range than others I've tested meaning that with the dimmer on it's lowest setting this lamp is dimmer than others I've tried. It is still brighter than the halogens on the same dimmer. The light distribution is as good as any other LED bulb I've tried. Again, not as good as the halogens. That said, the two latter factors were good enough for me, but the color of the light just wasn't. LED lights that I've tried are all "whiter" than halogen lights but the others had a reasonably warm look. This LED bulb has a greenish cast that is simply unattractive. Perhaps if they were the only lights in the room it wouldn't be so noticeable. But I'm test with other LEDs and halogens in the same room and the color contrast is enough to make me lower this to my lowest rating of all 5 bulbs tested.

In Phoenix, where the temps can reach 115 degrees in the summer, the last thing we need are light bulbs that generate heat causing our air conditioning to work even harder. While these do generate heat, it is a lot less than the conventional bulbs we replaced in our kitchen light fixtures. The lighting is not as bright as we had but we get along just fine with this.

This was an upgrade from a halogen spot, what a great change! Light is cool, stays white when dimed, and saves a ton of power! You can't go wrong with this lamp.

Nice warm color, very happy with this LED lamp. Makes me want to add more recessed lighting throughout the house!

LED makers on Amazon seriously need to cease from labeling their products as "warm white". This Cree gave off a greenish light, just like so many others. Is it really that difficult to make an LED in a true warm white tone? Or do you have to buy a $34 Phillips? Someone is really missing the boat on this one. I won't pay $34 per bulb, but I'd happily pay over $10 if it actually was dimmable and warm white. If someone out there knows of a bulb of that description, please comment and let me know. I've gone through dozens. The closest I've found is the 5W Lighting Forever GU10. Unfortunately, it's not dimmable. Their dimmable bulb, the a 7W, suffers from the same greenish tones that so many others do.
