I have had it for 3 months. The seller delivery was fast. They should have packed it better, I had small half inch chip in the glass, but it was not visible from exterior so I proceeded to install. The pole is made of aluminum and in a couple of pieces. While the paint job appears good, the machining was not. It was bowed. I played with it and could align the two pieces so that the bow in the mast would not be as noticeable from the street. The base needs to be bolted to a surface or it will not stand up on its own, at least my bowed pole would not allow to balance. The solar panels and the 12 led lights do work. However be aware it is not as bright as a gas lamp or an electric lamp. I was a little disappointed with that. However it does stay lit through most of the night and saves money compared to the gas street lamp it replaced. It looks good and the aluminum should not rust like my previous gas lamp metal pool. I wish they had provided aluminum screws instead of metal to hold the two pieces of pole together, the screw heads started to rust and I treated them with "magic purple" de-ruster that I use for the cars. That seem to work. I made it work for me. My issues were mostly with the manufacturer.

You have to remember that this is a solar powered light. Don't expect it to light up your yard. I installed two lights on either side of my driveway for accent lighting. Even in the dead of winter the light will stay on all night if you have a sunny day. On cloudy days it will not stay lit all night. Overall I am pleased and will probably purchase more to accent my driveway.

The box arrived fairly smashed, but the item was undamaged. It's made of aluminum, painted black. Fit and finish are mediocre quality. The top of the lantern and lantern body did not fit well, due to poor machining (I can get it to attach, but it's a bother). I placed a call to the customer service line--no answer so I left a message (no return call after 1 day). There are four battery compartments but only 1 and half are used (go figure) so you only need 3 batteries (included). You can shut off the light but you have to remove the lantern lid to do that (inconvenient). This item is somewhat typical of Chinese engineering..or lack thereof. If I had seen this in person before ordering I would not have purchased. It's worth more like $40 to me.

***UPDATE*** It's been a week since I placed a call (left message) into customer service and they have not returned my call. This unit comes with a 1 year warranty, but if you cannot reach customer service, what good is that?

I've worked with solar lights before and so I had an idea of what to expect. Quality of the glass work, aluminum work and electrical work are quite good. Unit charged up first time around, came on at dusk and shut off when it was supposed to. Exactly what I expected and exactly what it should do.

I needed to buy 12 of these lights for a donation to a dog park and I wanted to make sure that they were what I needed and wanted and so I only ordered 1 light. Light was $80 from Amazon. 2 days shipping, 1 day to assemble and charge the unit, another day to test it, another day to think it through and then it was time to order the other 11 from Amazon. Price is NOW $127 each!! Holy price increase Batman!! 50% increase in 7 days. I called Amazon customer service. They were polite as always and wouldn't do anything. Thats the price (they said). We discussed price increases in 7 days. We even discussed accounting methods of pricing inventory. Nope, Thank you for your business, we always try to be fair, but thats the price! Well, now the price is down to $107 and I'm still not sure what I'm going to do about buying the other 11 units.

As far as the company that makes the product, I wrote to them asking several specific questions. One of the Building Code officials here also wrote to them asking a technical question about the product. These emails were sent to them on October 18th. As of today, neither the Building offical or I have had a response. Nothing. I wonder what would happen if I had a problem.

Summary good light, Amazon is acting like it needs every dime it can get, and I don't think the companys email is working..........

This solar lamp has a nice glow and seems to hold a charge well. We put it in a flower bed so anchoring was a little difficult, but with the use of pvc tubes in varying sizes it seems to be holding well. We are happy with it and may order another.
