I've had this little light for more than two years now and it's still going strong. When at home it sits on my night stand and gets almost nightly use as a stubbed toe preventative. When out it's usually clipped to my pack.
I never expected it to last like it has nor to be as useful as it has proven. Neither did I expect it to last so long considering the constant use it has seen. Absolutely worth every penny.
To be fair I haven't exhaustively tested this thing. I have no idea how long the light lasts after a given amount of cranking or if there's another better light out there. I couldn't guess whether some other light puts up with being used in, and dropped in, rain, snow, and mud like this one has. It was cheap and I'll keep using it like it was a single use toy. If the past is any indication though I'll be using it like this for quite a while.

As a midnight hiker enthusiast, I find this flashlight in my pocket or the belt loop every single time I spend time in creepy dark environments. Few things that I noticed right away that were the selling point for me:1. Very inexpensive ten bucks at your local evil-corporation-mart.
2. No need to replace batteries.
3. Brand name never had a problem with Energizer products.
And then a few more things that I later absolutely came to love:
4. Comfortable, compact, and convenient design I never thought that carrying, charging, and holding a flashlight can be so comfortable. At first I thought it looked ugly, but after using it repeatedly, I realized why engineers designed it this way.
5. As night light I crank it for 10 seconds and point at the ceiling. Interesting thing the LEDs are still faintly lit in the morning.
Cons: Hard to think of any for a device with such price tag.

Energizer Weatheready 3-LED Carabineer Rechargeable Crank Light, Red and the Dynamo Illuminator Wind-up LED FlashlightI purchased both the Energizer Weatherready and the Dynamo Illuminator crank recharging flashlights. Emergency lighting is important to me . I bought both so I could compare them. Both are good value for the money. However, while costing about a dollar more, the Energizer is a superior product. Both have 3 LED Bulbs. But, the Energizers bulbs are somewhat brighter and project slightly farther. Additionally, two minutes of cranking gives almost 35 minutes of light with the Energizer. While, two minutes winding on the Illuminator gave me just over 22 minutes of full light. The Energizer is lighter and has the added advantage of a Carabineer for ease of carry and storage. Also, the Energizer's case appears more durable. The Illuminator can be switched to operate on a single led bulb to increase it's effective time. But at a much lower light level. Both will do the Emergency Lighting Job well. But, spend a buck more and get the Energizer. I'm sure you'll agree it's worth the money! That is my recommendation!
Honest reviews on Energizer Weatheready 3-LED Carabineer Rechargeable Crank Light, Red
Bought this product at Target having used it for 10 months.Primarily used as a backup when my Mini Maglite loses adequate power.
Lighting:
The light is very bright after 10 minutes of cranking. don't know the exact lumina however.
Throw on this product is able to light up reflective signs up to 50 yards or more.
Flood is poor due to reflector design. See atleast four large artifacts around the hotspot.
Durability:
External Main body can take a beating, crank handle however can break.
Internal plenty of moving parts prone to loosen overtime.
Reliability: Very reliable for the first 8 months of use. Prone to flickering if internals are loose if not handled gently. Never had issue in rain. Hadn't gotten it submerged in water so unknown on that issue.

This is not an expert review, I've never owned nor used a crank light before. I'm not a cave diver, mountain climber of any other kind of sport enthusiast who would know the ins and outs of the different kinds of equipment used for lighting. I just know that this flashlight produces a nice amount of light, enough to light up the sidewalk after dark thereby illuminating any doggy turds left behind (I seem to possess an uncanny knack for finding the slimy piles with my clean and colorful sneakers). The crank is easy to use and sturdy enough that I don't worry that in my enthusiasm I might snap it off.
The light is small enough to clip onto a shoulder bag or off of a belt for easy travel.
The light has a nice sized grip handle and is pretty lightweight so that an hour's walk after dark doesn't leave you feeling that you need to work on increasing your upper body strength.
Last of all, it's fun to use. There's something kinda cool about winding the crank on this for light. I usually hand it off to my son and he's always a little over zealous in the winding, but like I said before, this is a pretty durable light.
