I bought this for my artist wife (my PICKY artist wife) for when she needs more light when using the dinner table for her work. We recently replaced the under counter lights in our kitchen with high output LEDS the kind that come on a roll with a sticky back and no covering of any type and were so pleased with the light output that this seemed a natural choice. Unfortunately, it has several issues.

As several reviewers pointed out, the light output isn't tremendously high not nearly as bright as those we bought for the kitchen cabinets. We did follow the suggestion by Ilja Friedel and removed the diffuser, and that helped a lot. In fact, with the diffuser out there weren't any "hot spots", so I don't know why the manufacturer even includes it; it only serves to make the light dimmer.

The real killer from my wife's perspective is that the LED cylinder wouldn't rotate where it joins the flex tube. So when she repositioned the light, she often found that it was tipped so that at least a portion of the LED strip was pointing in her eyes. Attempting to rectify the problem required twisting on the flex tube, which was very difficult. Ultimately she decided it wasn't worth the trouble.

I was looking for a table light to clamp to a camping table. This one can run off a USB battery or laptop, which is fine with me. Build quality looks solid but finish was a bit less nice than what I would have expected for forty bucks. At that stage I would have said 3.5 stars. Unfortunately the switch sheared off before I could use it for the first time just by holding it unluckily. I had to take it apart and solder the switch out, which took my 30 minutes. (Unscrew the end cap, pull out the plexiglass, remove the plastic diffusing sheet, unscrew the LED bar, solder.) I also cut the USB cable and made it shorter. The light is much brighter now without the diffuser. And it really illuminates a camping table nicely at night, so all this work was not in vain. I just expect no DIY at this price point.

I was attracted to this lamp because of its space saving design. It fits the drawing table of have perfectly and doesn't obstruct the space like other lamp models. The problem is it doesn't have a strong enough output to fully cover the area. It works OK but I would like to have a brighter light. As it is I have another lamp separate from the table that adds the necessary lighting.

Best $40 I've spent in a long time. I use this on a daily basis to read magazines / newspapers at the breakfast table. It stays where it is put ... no sagging, or fighting with positions. The long, linear row of LED lights gives a diffuse, even illumination to the page; no hot spots. I've been using it almost 6 months with no degradation.

The light is not big or bright enough to light a drafting table or big work area, but if augmenting room lighting to read newspapers or magazines is your need, you couldn't meet it better than with this.

Nice Lamp, looks nice in my office, just it looks a little cheap and the glass over the leds looks horrible, so i tried to removed but i cant.

The support is really stable and hold it really good.
