This flashlight makes many DIY chores far more enjoyable. For example-fixing a leaky pipe in a bathroom or kitchen cabinet: the legs are quite flexible and can be wrapped around a pipe and aimed at the problem area; the light is bright and steady. Have you ever had someone trying to be "helpful" by holding a flashlight for you? This light eliminates the frustration to both parties involved...No, a little more to the left..no, now it's in my eyes!..etc. Also great for working on your car. It is rechargeable, has a high/low option, plus a flashing mode. The built-in magnet is fairly small, but strong, a larger magnet would be an improvement. You cannot go wrong by adding this light to your toolkit.

Straight out of the box two of the LED bulbs were defective. Annoying, but easily replaced. During Hurricane Sandy it was put into near full-time use to use along with both my and my husband's existing Joby Gorillatorches. Side by side, we quickly realized there was simply no comparison. The biggest drawback in the event of a power outage proved to be the SquidBrite's non-replaceable batteries. A work light that can only be charged by plugging it in to a working electrical outlet isn't much use in a power outage. There were three other distinct disadvantages to the SquidBrite, listed below in descending order of importance:
(1) Incredibly short battery life (avg. 20 mins. per full charge) versus our two Gorillatorches (avg. 18.7 and 19.1 hours respectively at max lumens using 1500 mAH rechargeable batteries with significantly longer time periods when lumens decreased)
(2) Nonadjustable. The Gorillatorch can be dimmed so that one can balance the need for higher lumens against the need for longer battery life in case of an emergency.
(3) No magnetic feet. The SquidBrite copied the Gorillatorch's brilliant leg design fairly well--like the Gorillatorch, you can wrap the SquidBrite's legs around poles, through chain link fences, or use them to stabilize on uneven ground. But for some reason they didn't replicate the magnetic feet on the Gorillatorch, which not only allow you to use it on the underside of your car but also allow you to keep a few pesky screws, washers, bolts and nuts right there where you can see them, rather than having to fiddle around in your pocket or reach around blindly for that small parts tray that you left down by the exhaust pipe.

I got this to help shed a little more light on the actual project area of my car engine and it didn't add enough light to make a difference. I thought it would be much brighter but was really unsatisfied with it's performance. I'm returning it.Honest reviews on Stanley SB0109 SquidBrite Work Light
I love this little tool I received as a Christmas gift. The ability to light a work area properly in vehicle repair has always been frustrating for me. Under a dash or in any other dark area you can struggle to get a light to stay positioned without having it get in your way. I've tried all kinds of work lights and I've had to fight them all. This tool puts out a strong powerful beam of light-with out any bothersome heat-that can be put in most any position and it will stay in position. It doesn't render other work lights I use obsolete but in close quarters in dark areas it can't be beat. It's a wonderful idea and design that makes my job easier and I plan to get another one for the house. In daily professional use I have doubts about the longevity of the base being able to maintain tightness where the legs connect as it does seem kind of flimsy, but with careful use it should be OK. BTW, the head is removable from the legs.
