According to all the other reviews, this bulb is very bright. I would say it is not bad, but not as good as I expected, based on those reviews. The color is what I wanted, but if you don't like extreme white, stay away from this and pick one with a temperature between 4000 and 5000 kelvin. As far as brightness is concerned, it is only equivalent to a 45 to 50 watt incandescent bulb, which in my opinion is not the extreme brightness everyone is raving about. All in all, not bad, but not quite there yet.

I purchased five of these lights and installed them in my hallway ceiling fixtures (recessed cans in a 10' ceiling), replacing the 27-watt fluorescent floods that we were using. BAM! Instant daylight! Unlike the fluorescents, these light instantly and at full power, their light is very close to daylight, they contain no mercury, and they use less than a third of the power that the fluorescents use. I'm so impressed that I'm about to order nine more of them for my kitchen . . . .

I purchased six of these bulbs for my outdoor floods. They are not rated for outdoors, but they work fine. These bulbs only use 8 watts a piece. I went from using 600 watts for my floods to 48 watts. They are not dimmable, but for my application they work great. I would highly recommend.

We wanted to replace our kitchen lights with LEDs, because I hate the warm up time for CFLs and Incandescents are expensive to operate. These lights work great. I'm not sure they are quite as bright as the 65W bulbs they are replacing but they are bright white instead of warm white and the higher contrast easily makes up for it. Estimated energy savings on these are about $2.5 per month and they'll last for about 8 years at that rate. So to replace all the bulbs cost $168 with an energy savings of $240, which doesn't account for inflation. These were a good investment, and they provide light when and where you need it. That's more than I can say for CFLs.

I purchased this item based on Amazon's customer reviews.

Excellent quality.

Light output is white. Not blue. Not with a reddish tint.

Starts illuminating instantly.

Output is similar to a 90 to 100 watt CFL or conventional bulb.

It has an standard base.

I have been using two in a motion detection fixture that is installed outside in the open patio. The fixture has bulb protecting metal shades, but I doubt the shades are waterproof. So far, it has been a very, very rainy season and the bulbs are still working as new.

This is, without any doubts, an excellent product.
