I bought these for a built-in deck I have next to my pool. It has a lattice top with built in benches, and I wanted something colorful to be eye catching during the day and serve as some functional and fun form of lighting at night. This product granted my wish...and I bought three units (9 lamps total) to line the entire perimeter of the open gazebo. Not only are these incredibly nice to look at as I lounge by my pool during the day...they also set just enough light to sit beneath them and listen to music peacefully at night.

I didn't expect much light output, but I'd definitely say this exceeded my expectations...the lights are pretty powerful for such little bulbs! You won't have as much light as a trational stringed set or a candle, but you also don't get the ugly power cords, additional electric bill, and risk of fire/damage to the product as you would with those traditional types either. I think they display plenty of light, but I'd place them no more than two feet apart (mine are one foot apart) in order to maximize their beautiful soft light.

I really like these lanterns. They are adorable and work very well. I need to get more. Has a nice hook for hanging. Made of a durable vinyl-like material, but looks similar to the paper Chinese lanterns you love. The solar panel charges a battery in the top of the lamp. The battery is a rechargeable AA battery that you can replace when it no longer holds a charge. Love these...Need more.

Charged them all day yesterday, used them for just about an hour as it doesn't get dark here until around 9:00 p.m. Will definitely be testing them out more. Will post an update.

Wish these had better light output. They look great but have very little "light" output. Instead of using them (as I had used others in the past) on our patio for overhead lighting, I have had to simply put them in/around accent areas. But, they are nice to look at and easy to assemble.
