According the the product description, the light is dimmable. While the color of the light is adjustable, the brightness is not. One other thing to be aware of is that the bar attached to the base is not hinged. It is fixed vertical. This one's going back.

My wife bought this lamp for her desk. She needs to be able to see, glare free, written material on her desk and also use the computer at the same time. She is also a pianist and is always complaining that she does not have good light at the piano so she has ebeen carrying this lamp back and forth between the piano and the desk. Now that I've bought a second lamp for my own desk, she is going to buy another to keep permanently on the piano. We may get another for the living room as a table reading lamp. It is very cool that the light can change colors depending on the kind of work you're doing and so you can adjust to the light in the room. It's so easy to turn on and off -just swipe the button. Apparently very green and efficient too. I know there is a way more expensive one out there but I can't imagine this being any worse just because it's $100 cheaper. It looks quite sleek. Oh, and it folds down into just a stick -that's very cool too. In short, we love this lamp. We want them all over the house. We never need to look for a good reading/work desk/piano lamp again. This will do it all.

Light works great. I would give it 5 stars if the LED light bulb was replaceable. Happy with purchase and will buy another one after this bulb fails
