From the moment I held it in my hands I knew I purchased a quality product at a good price. This is even before installing it and powering it on! This is one of the very few QUALITY led bulbs available. Forget the "shower head" 5mm led bulbs that eventually dim and die. This one has 9 Cree PLCC SMD LED's (not sure which series/model). The stated light beam angle of 120 degrees is fairly accurate. The given lumens figure of 520 is pretty accurate, if not conservative. Other specs on the box include a efficiency of 47 lumens per watt with a CRI (color rendering index) of 73. I hooked up a light fixture attached to a kill-a-watt wattage meter with this bulb installed and I got 9 watts/11 VA consumed. The stated ANSI color temperature of 4100 is slightly off. I'd estimate it closer to 4500K as I do have lights that are true 4000k (Cree 5A tint). The color temp might take getting used to compared to a incadescent/halogen but it isn't that bad.

If you are debating wether or not to buy this its not really a hard decision; this one is truly worth it. I bought a few to use for indoor recessed lighting fixtures as well as outdoor security floodlights and they work wonderfully. FYI there is also a dimmable version too. I plan on buying more to replace all of my halogen & CFL par38 lights.

This is the best LED bulb I currently own and, as I have only recently started collecting them, that does not mean a lot. The light output from this bulb is comparable to a 60 watt incandescent bulb, so they are not awful but certainly not amazingly bright.

My main complaint from this bulb is it's 18 watt power consumption which, for that output, places it as the least efficient LED bulb I've used, with a lower light output than most flourescents.

26 watt florescent can easily output 1750 lumens placing them at about 67 lumens per watt where this bulb puts out just over 47 lumens per watt making it SUBSTANTIALLY less efficient.

Other than the very poor power consumption this bulb works very well.

The 520 lumen is not a joke this is very bright (seems brighter than 65W Halogen). However, the 4100K spectrum stands out from the rest of my kitchen lights (a mix of Halogen and CFL). It is probably fine for a work area or hallway, but does not fit well in the kitchen.

The head is also large snd it barely fit into the housing, so make sure you measure you have the large (probably standard) size housing for it.

I purchased 16 of these bulbs for my basement and I just want everyone to be aware that there is a 1-2 sec. delay before the lights turns on. I would actually give it a five star if it wasn't for the delay.
