I have to keep replacing our door bell button because it faces the direction from which we get most of our rain, and the buttons keep getting water in them and shorting out. This button is definitely the sturdiest I have purchased. It is all button surrounded by a 'halo' of white LED light. I really like it. Installation was very easy, except that the button comes fastened together in the package and of course you have to take it apart to install. It was very difficult to get apart without damaging it...but eventually it yielded. If you get it, just be careful and patient when removing the front from the base. This is a very nice contemporary appearing button, nothing fancy.
update 12/11/12: After a year, the button is just fine...no issues and still looks great! Love the LED light.

Unlike door hardware that has a lifetime finish, this doorbell leaves fingerprints that only an FBI agent would love. Great finish but needs to tone down the finish to keep the finish. This button has built in circuitry to work with electronic Westminster chime bells..specifically a zener diode, which using a standard button requires a zener diode to be wired with it....great convenience. This is a really high quality doorbell. I replaced a "builder special" cheapie and it looks a whole lot better. It's pretty expensive but you get what you pay for.
