These lights are fantastic for mood lighting and offer many features for such a modest price point.

PROS:

Memory -Perhaps the best feature. After cutting power, the light remembers the last mode and brightness level the light was set at. Lights turned on at the same time, in a color shifting mode, will sync on the color.

Brightness -A true 5W LED, great for mood lighting and with 4 brightness settings there is no reason to get lesser light.

Color -Colors are rich and bright, the remote's palette offers a wide range of static colors which are all good. The 'white' setting is a cool white, as expected, but the yellow does offer a VERY close match to an incandescent.

Diffusion -I was considering ordering light diffusing film to better 'blend' light output (a problem with some lights) but this is completely not necessary, the light output is smooth and well mixed.

Size/Construction -The quality of build seems good and the size is very nice, smaller than expected. Does not generate a lot of heat, especially compared to incandescent.

Price: Much less costly and better than say a Philips In Living Color light which is roughtly 10X the price.

Things to consider:

I use these lights with an X10 setup and they work great. If you are ONLY using the IR Remote, then you need to keep in mind that you'll need to be fairly close and point the remote directly at the light.

Cons:

Flicker -there is a subtle amount of flicker in the smooth color transition setting, noticable by the very keen eye but I am fine with it.

Manual -no manual include, not that you need one, but for those of you insist, I've included a link to the manual I've found below:

Overall, I'd highly recommend this light, my expectations were exceeded and I think the value for the features is very high.

So I ordered this bulb along with a few cheaper ones to compare. I expected that this bulb would be the king of the set and in many ways it is. Build quality is very good, remote performs better than the cheap bulbs, colors are clean and rich, and light output is nice and diffuse.

But it's also the least bright of the lot. Comparable to a strong night light. The controls for brightness on the remote work fine (lowest setting is barely noticable.) Considering the other reviews, it's likely I've got a dud (it happens.) I wanted to choose the best bulb and fill some track lights with them, but I'm not sure this is the one...

I love this led color 5w bulb. The remote control for each bulb is functional but basic, and while the bulbs can be "programmed", we found it to be challenging at best, and primarily use the one-button functions on the remote to either make the light a specific color, or leave it in the slow, constantly-color-cycling state.

You have to be careful to crank them up to full power quickly or the results can be unpredictable. but they will function just fine as long as you power the outlet fully. Anything less will probably damage the bulbs over time.

A pair of them works beautifully over our big, sunken bath it's really cool to be able to have mood lighting there, and the almost "thick" quality of the light is very pleasing. It saturates everything very richly.
