This ceiling light is a real value. It is not distracting on the ceiling and when it is on, the light is diffused and does not hurt the eyes. I installed it myself and found it the easiest ceiling light I have ever installed and being a landlord and home owner for the last 35 years, that is saying something. I will definitely order my next lamp from the same company in the near future.

I wasted a lot of time going to the several stores around town, only to be disappointed with the variety of choices.

I am pleased and satisfied with the packaging, speed of delivery, and ease of installation.

I bought this light to replace a dated incandescent (from 1972) that I've always thought was ugly. It lights a small landing at the top of the stairway.

The installation was simple. The instructions seemed OK but I have experience with my home electrical needs so I didn't really follow them.

If anything, the three wires were a little long but not so long that I needed to cut them.

The physical mounting was nice as well. There are several mounting holes so it seems versatile. The one I used had a key hole slot so you can screw in the mounting screws to the electrical box, push the fixture up with the screw heads passing through the 'hole' and finally twisting to the slot portion before tightening the screws. There was another key hole setup for a larger box and I think a couple other holes.

Unlike another review, I thought the mounting clips were possibly the best I've ever had for a ceiling fixture. True they are plastic. But they are on a metal lever that turns them to the 'open' or 'locked' position. Every other fixture I've ever had had plastic tabs that you had to bend (hopefully without breaking) or for glass metal spring clips that make me nervous about breaking the diffuser. I agree that the diffuser is thin but with this superior mount you don't need anything heftier.

I think the included lamp is not as warm as I would like but I ordered one that should be better when it arrives. But I also suspected this when I ordered it so I can't really fault the product. The springs were a little stiff and clipping in the lamp made me a little nervous. The connecting wire was plenty long. In fact I had to position the lamp in a certain way so the wire didn't hang down and cast a shadow.

I knocked off 1 star because of the lamp clips and wire (they could have provided a way to keep the wire up against the base). But I would definately recommend this fixture.

I ordered this light to replace my bathroom light that broke.

It works fine and has a bright light. It is pretty easy to install and requires replacing the old light and connecting 3 wires to your junction box. Installation should take under 30 minutes.

Pros:

The plastic cover is very thin and flimsy (the base is metal)

Brackets (2) that hold the plastic cover are also plastic

Overall, I would say that the light is functional, but very simple. I would rate the quality of material 3+/5 (typical average quality Chinese made light). I feel that this light is over priced and would be a good value for $15-20.

I'm very happy with this light and may buy another to replace and old fixture. It's plastic retainers that secure the shade seem to be okay...if they don't fail in the future from exposure to heat of the lamp.

The light is as advertised, although a bit cheaply made for the globe latches. Latches do not lock into the base and tend to loosen over short period of time with normal building movement. A better latch and/or retainer would make this a "5 star" rating.
