I was looking for LED refridgerator light bulbs to replace the two in my LG refidgerator french doors and bottom freezer. There used to be a plastic shield around the two incadescent bulbs (60 watts each). It fell off after it got deformed when it melted from the heat of the bulbs when the door was left open for a period of time. From a safety stand point, I needed a LED or CFL bulb or else somebody can easily burn their hand. The color is cool blue, but at least it is safe since there is a clear plastic cover. I tried CFL, but by the time it is bright enough, you would have had to close the door. I recommend everybody who have an regular refrigerator light to replace it with this one since the led goes around 360 degree. I am going to order another one to replace the one in the bottom freezer.

The bulb description says, "Used in ...candelabra, refrigerator, ceiling fan..." It is not a candelabra base, and has two big a base for my chandelier that uses a candelabra base, or my refrigerator light for the water that uses a candelabra base, or my fan light that uses a candelabra base.

Amazon could sell more bulbs by improving the light bulb selection methodology, so people do not have to go to stores to find what they need. Amazon has a way to choose bulb sizes, but I did not see the E12 or Candelabra base as a choice. Having a choice, "Candelabra base" or "standard base", probably the two most common in households, would make it much easier. If there are multiple factors that would effect what would fit in those bases, they should clearly explain that and allow choices to adjust for that. I had to instead either search for "E12" or "Candelabra base" in bulbs, but both methods were both over and under inclusive because they depend on how the descriptions were written up. Also there is a section to include lumens, which is nice, but it would not allow me to choose multiple lumens. This should be allowed as many people either want something with a minimum or maximum brightness.

not sure whether or not to fault the product, amazon, or myself. I searched for LED microwave bulb, and this is the first result, but unless your microwave takes full size bulbs, this one won't fit. I guess I should have read the description more carefully. This is a full size base, not an intermediate size base as is needed for most microwaves. After additional searching, I have yet to identify a suitable product for my needs.

Received it in time and replaced an existing burnt out GE appliance bulb 40 watts a day ago. The expected life is 30,000 hours but why the guarantee is only for one year? Color is different but otherwise illumination is not much different.

Made some assumptions such as door stays open for 1 to 2 minutes on the average, is opened 10 times a day, 10 cents/kWh etc and this results in dollar savings of one dollar ( in round number) per year for energy including the lighting energy, additional energy used by the compressor in the refrigerator and the house air conditioning unit (assuming the fridge is in the kitchen not in the garage). Also further assuming the regular GE bulb costs $3.50 and will need replacement in three years plus or minus, results in an additional saving of say another dollar ( in round number) per year. The difference in cost between the two bulbs is say $12 will result in a simple pay back of 6 years ( plus minus 2 years depending on individual use) without accounting for the interest costs. To me it is acceptable because the money in the bank now a days earns 0.2 percent and this is much better than that. Of course if the fridge does not last for another six years or you move before six years, you need to take the bulb with you!

I thought that this bulb was a great idea. However, it didn't throw much light (maybe in the 20 watt range) and what it did throw was purplish (it would be a stretch to call it cool white). I got a refund when I came to the realization that I had absolutely no way to get any use from this item.
