The beam is rather tightly focused and of good white color. If you need more flood-light effect, order another lamp. This lamp, rated @300 lumens, draws about 3.5 to 4 watts by actual test. The 500 and 900 or 1000 lumem lamps sold by "Highly" draw about 9 watts. Obviously, a battery(s) will last significantly longer supplying 4 vs 9 watts.

This is a great LED drop in module, similar to much more expensive options. For example, I also have a TNVC Cree Q5 that sells for $45, and this LED is either the same one or very similar. I tested both LED's by shining them against a wall and the beam pattern, brightness and tint were almost identical. I know that TNVC buys their LED modules from a Chinese company, so their $45 module is the same as the module sold by Highly or other Chinese companies.

The Cree Q5, in both the Highly and TNVC versions, is more of a spot beam then flood light. It has a cool tint, and has very faint traces of blue or purple on the edges, but nothing distracting. This is a good, basic LED that should work well for rifle mounting, hunters, outdoorsmen, or just anyone looking for a bright light.

Popped after minutes of being installed. However I give a 3 star instead of a 1 star because the company backed their product and promptly refunded all money. It was worth a try, but I think the aftermarket bulb is not the way to go imo.

Actually received a 3-18V which is actually better as the output stays brighter once my single 3.7v battery starts to drop below 3.7v. When using a 3.7v battery output is much better than when I use my 3.7-18 module. Was droped onto stone by a relative playing with it. Dropped on the sidewalk while trying to holster it and it is still going at this point.

At first I was disappointed because it seemed this bulb would not fit in my Surefire G2. However I discovered it will fit if you remove the large spring. It works great and it's an impressive improvement in light output from the original bulb that comes with the light.
