This is a very cute little light. It has three LED's red, blue, and green, and the light diffuser makes them look like three "stars" floating in the air above it. I've added a photo that shows the effect.

It's cute. It's colorful. It's pretty. It's a little dorky.

It's also not very practical as a night light. Think of this as more of an accent light than a night light. It might work well in a kid's room, or a bathroom where you want a little bit of color at night...but not many other places.

The floating star effect is really best visible above waist level, so a bathroom or a kitchen outlet (where they are at counter height) is probably the best placement for viewing.

The light sensor is decent, and shuts the light on and off at what seem to me to be appropriate light levels.

I love this little nightlight! It's not clear since there is no picture showing what this looks like once it is lit up, but it creates an almost holographic image of 3 stars stacked on top of one another-1 green, 1 red, and 1 blue. It has added a unique, colorful little accent to my bathroom and I love that it automatically turns on and off when I turn the light on. I couldn't be happier. Great choice if you want to add a little happiness to your bathroom or bedroom. :)

The multicolor feature of this nightlight is great! Lights up my entryway with color, which is easier on the eyes (and way better than plain old white light).

These GE Nightlights work really well. After years of buying packs of generic nightlights at various retailers, I believe that I have finally found a nightlight with which I am fairly well pleased. As evidence of my high rating for these nightlights, I am back on this product page to purchase a couple more of these GE LED Star Nightlights. Since I was here, I thought I would go ahead and share with others my vote of confidence for these nightlights.

When I first purchased one of these nightlights, I was a little weary due to the seemingly high price. Being that I thought the price was a little high, I made a limited purchase to try out one of these little nocturnal devices. Within a couple of days, I was pleasantly pleased with this product. Since I was purchasing this nightlight to replace other "generic" and cheap nightlights, I was and continue to be satisfied with the build quality and performance of these new GE LED Nightlights.

I was a little surprised by the brightness of these nightlights. The nightlight is not necessarily intrusive in their brightness, but they appear to be fairly brighter than the older traditional generic nightlights. Also, the color these nightlights emit into the surrounding area is more of a blue color rather than the dull yellow of the generic inexpensive nightlights. I will not delve into the three different colored stars in this nightlight as there are good descriptions already and especially in the reasonably accurate picture at the top of this product page. I will admit though that I and my family were fairly well impressed by the LED stars for the first few nights. After a while, I guess the novelty wore off as I hardly even notice the stars any longer. What I do notice is that these lights emit ample light into my somewhat large rooms in a reliable and dependable manner. This also speaks well of the on/off sensor. When compared to generic nightlights, I have been really impressed with the functioning of the on/off sensors when the room is bright or dark. These Nightlights appear to turn on and off immediately upon changes in the room. I have not noticed any varying degrees of brightness or flickering due to overall light changes in the room.

I must admit that if I could do half stars in my rating, I would likely rate these nightlights at 4 1/2 due to pricing. The only drawback for me is that the price of these GE Nightlights is a couple of dollars more than I would like. On the other hand, the good quality and functioning of these Nightlights do not warrant a full star rating reduction as the price is somewhat subjective. Plus, the principle of "you get what you pay for" seems to be an apt description. With the build quality and performance being really solid, these nightlights deserve the 5 stars if 4 1/2 is not available. If you are anything like me, you are tired of constantly having to purchase bulbs and/or entire packs of cheap nightlights because they frequently fail. Given this constantly annoying chore of repeatedly replacing cheap nightlights, then these GE LED Nightlights are well worth the upfront few extra dollars and five star rating.

Here are a couple other considerations before I close. While these fairly bright Nightlights do not bother me when trying to sleep at night, those sensitive to brighter lights during sleep might want to consider placement of these Nightlights accordingly. My wife has one of these Nightlights right next to the head of her side of the bed, and the Nightlight does not bother her while sleeping. The other consideration concerns upfront costs. As these LED Nightlights cost a little more initially, I replace the older cheap nightlights when they fail. This is helpful in defraying the initial higher costs while still adding these higher quality nightlights that work really well and last an extraordinary amount of time.

Makes a fun glow for kid's room. I love the auto on/off. Just disappointed in how quickly the encasing broke from the base. Fixed easily with glue but wish it had been a bit more durable from the get-go.
