These are great if you do not have an easy way to connect Xmas lights to power. They stay lit for at least 7 hours and come on once it is dark

I purchased these lights from Home Depot for my patio at the apartment. There is no outdoor plug, and we have had solar powered things out there in the past, and all have worked perfectly, so I figured I would give it a shot with these lights. Out of the box they are nice and bright I was so excited to put a little holiday cheer outside the apartment!

After day 1, the lights still worked. "Great" I thought...well I was wrong. After coming home from work on the third day, I noticed that only half the lights were lighting up and that they were extremely dim. On the fourth day nothing.

Mind you, I live in Chicago, and the temperatures are fairly chilly here in December and as of late it has been rather rainy (December 2012). Well, I took them back to Home Depot and figured I would try again (maybe I just got a bad set?!) It was like clock work, I put them up and the same thing started to happen. I had adhered them to my deck EXACTLY like the instructions had indicated and faced the solar panel south west to get the best sunlight, and still NOTHING. I am going to go back to home depot and return this set as well hopefully for some store credit to buy myself a nice wreath to add the holiday cheer.

UGH I am very upset with these lights.
