We recently replaced old square light fixtures in our living room. Because I was going to have to patch the drywall anyway, we looked at the new technology. Our ceilings are quite high. Changing bulbs is inconvenient and time consuming. We wanted to avoid the heat and power consumption of halogen products. I was concerned about possible audio hum in our audio system with any type of flourescent product.
The installation was straight forward using the remodeling cans. The light is very white and makes reading in the room much easier. With the specialty dimmers, we can reduce the brightness when we aren't reading. So far, we are very pleased and impressed with the projected longevity of the LED lighting.
Time will tell. Other than cost, we have no complaints and will probably purchase additional units when we begin the remodel of our kitchen. I only hope to see the cost come down over time.
