I bought one of these along with two other brands of LED bulbs to compare. I liked the color of this Philips the best, so I bought two more of these and I am quite disappointed. The color of the light varies from bulb to bulb. One is a warm light (white with a touch of yellow) that I like, another is a light pink light, and the third is a yellow light. There is actually more color variation among the three Philips bulbs than among the three different brands. I bought these to use in wall sconces facing upward in a hallway, so the light is shining up onto a white ceiling and the color differences are easily seen. I called Philips customer support and the man was not helpful at all, but told me that I didn't have a defective product because the light bulbs were turning on and I have light. He told me that he would report the issue, but could not resolve my problem because I didn't have a defective product. Product gets three stars, customer service gets one star = overall two stars.

The container for the product shows the Model Number as 9290002240, not 423772. Also stated is "AmbientLED F15 Dimmable Milky Candle". I will be using 3 of these in wall lanterns by my front and garage doors. Many similar bulbs have only about a 180 degree light output and therefore do not light up the ground very well when the bulb's socket is at the bottom as is the case on many lamp posts and wall lanterns. The 320 lumen light output is about right for this application.

The bulb puts out a lot of nice light, and the color matches the other Phillips LED bulbs we have. And it is a perfect replacement for "fan lights" that are not visible. However its too long to be used everywhere an A15 bulb (the true fan light shape) could be. Not sure why finding a good A15 LED is so hard...

installed in my lamp post by the street. Was a littler brighter than I expected for a 40 watt, but still much better than the 60 watt that was in there. I will report back in 42 years to see if it lasts as long as the package says.......

LED lights are just beginning to become inexpensive enough to be worth buying. I bought these post lamp bulbs because I read online that they were effective 'bug lights' -that they don't attract flying insects at night.

Since I bought them I read online that the previous reports were baloney. But don't tell that to my wife. She says when she comes home from her late shift there are noticeably fewer bugs around our porch light. She's a level-headed gal, so I believe her.

It may seem counter-productive, but I have considered leaving the porch light on day and night, since these bulbs only use 4 watts of power and have a huge life expectancy. That would 'waste' electricity, but it would eliminate fumbling in the dark when I've forgotten to leave the light on. I haven't done that yet, but I'm still considering it. It's worth thinking about.
