i have a hanging light where a normal bulb was too blinding and this bulb was the perfect fix. the bulb feels much sturdier than a standard bulb, which is good, given the extra price.

These bulbs are fantastic for getting rid of glare from lights that hang over head. With a hanging light over the breakfast nook table this bulb directs the light onto the ceiling and produces a softer lighting than one would receive even from a frosted bulb. Careful where you use them as they are designed to reflect the majority of light back towards the base so think about where you would like to use them. As they are inexpensive the recommendation would be to buy at least one and try it out in several locations to see how it affects the lighting in your house. The mirroring is first rate and the bulb construction is very good, for this the item gets a five star rating.

We got this 100 watt to replace the 60 watt buls of the same design. the 60 watt bulb was inadequate for an arc lamp, but the 100 watt is perfect. It reflect the light back into the lamp and gives very good light. Also, it looks much nicer in the lamp than other kinds of bulbs
