I received my TK15 yesterday. Like all Fenix lights this one is of excellent quality. With the turbo level at 337 lumens it's super bright. It has a nice solid feel in your hand. The clip is nice and strong. I love the push button on the side that changes the brightness levels from low-med-high and turbo. If it's held down for a second it goes to strobe. The strobe changes speed automatically. Back and forth between the two speeds. Very disorientating. The only thing that bothers me is that there is a sizable shadow spot in the center of the hot-spot. Not a big deal I guess. I'm a bit picky. I'm one of those people that has to have everything straight or uniform. I still gave it five stars because it is of excellent quality, super bright for it's size and the functioning is really first class.

The Fenix TK15 is remarkably bright for its size, is very well made, and has good battery life. Unlike the other 2 reviewers (so far), I see absolutely no dark center spot or "rings" at any light level or viewing distance. Perhaps there is unit-to-unit variation, but mine has a perfect beam with no anomalies. My only negative is that the rear power button protrudes past its scalloped surround, so it will not stand on its tail. Not cheap, but worth the money if you need this much brightness in such a small form-factor.

OMG...being a surefire guy for the longest time I thought I'd try the Fenix flashlight as I had heard they were a bargain for the price.

Well, let me tell you that this light blows the surefire out of the water, I almost blinded my wife the first time I showed her. The quality of the light is top notch and the brightness is totally unbelievable. Our cat got out the other night and while using it to search for him around our hood I must have woken up 4 neighbors with the light this thing kicks out. My neighbors thought it was a spotlight not a small hand held flashlight.

Would I recommend this to others, you bet your butt I would.

Honest reviews on Fenix TK15 S2 Flashlight

before i purchased it, i had never actually held a fenix... so i went out on a limb and based my puchase of this flashlight solely on amazon and youtube reviews. lets start with quality. this is an excellent quality item. the construction is solid. the battery does not shake around inside like cheaper flashlights. also, this flashlight is BRIGHT!!! on the lowest lumen setting, (which i keep it on) it will easily light up a room. in a dark house, i can turn this thing on and it will light up whatever i shine it on. if you increase the lumens, it becomes almost amazingly bright. i stood in a field a couple weeks ago and shined this thing at the trees on the edge. they were at least 150 yards away and on the full setting, this light was like a search a rescue light. i am very happy to have the higher settings but like i said, for general use, i use the lowest and it meets most of my needs.

now onto the reason this flashlight didn't get 5 stars. when i was reading reviews on this light someone else noted that the back button sticks out further than the pieces that surround the button, making it impossible to stand this flashlight on its butt at first i didn't think i would care about this, but now that i have had it and used it for a few months, i can say that there was at least one time when i wanted to stand it on its butt and couldn't. its bizarre that they would design it this way and the only reason i can think of is to make the on/off button as accessible as possible when you are in a pinch and need your light turned on right away. the second bad thing i have found is that the button that transitions between settings is smooth. it is actually the same feel as the surrounding surface. so when it is completely dark in my house, and i have turned the flashlight on, i find myself spinning the light around and around trying to find the button for my thumb to change the setting. it would have been very simple for them to make the button a different texture or raise it up a bit so that you can differentiate. this can definately become agrivating. its like they forgot that you use a flashlight in the dark. and just becuase the flashlight is on, doesn't mean that you can look down and see the button. what i ended up doing was turning the pocket clip piece to be in line with the button and i try to keep it that way. this way i can just easily follow the clip down the body and find the button.

all in all, this is still an excellent flashlight. besides the inability to sit it on its butt and to easily find the button to transition between settings, the flashlight is excellent and i definately recommend it. my father in law is a fireman and fire inspector and he went and bought one after seeing how well mine worked. he uses it every day during inspections and has also used it on search and rescue missions.

I was looking for a quality flashlight so I started researching. I came across multiple brands like surefire and olight, but I chose fenix because it was probably the best bang for the buck. I bought the TK15 because I liked the User Interface, as it is pretty new from Fenix. Switching through modes is easy with the side button, instead of having to twist the head like other fenix flashlights. It also remembers what brightness mode you are on when you turn it off, except the strobe. Having the low mode of five lumens is nice if you needed it for reading something. Another plus would be the momentary on switch, which would be very effective in a tactical situation. The build quality is exactly as I expected, very sturdy and feels like a "tank." And because it can use two types of battery, it may cut down costs in the long run. I recommend using rechargeable 18650's. The only downside may be the side switch, which may be hard to find in the dark. It takes some time to feel for it, and if you have gloves on it may be much harder. I find that if use the clip to position where the button is, it makes it much easier. Overall its a great flashlight and does not disappointing. There are plenty of review online that would pretty much answer any questions the flashlight (they helped me choose). With the tk15 I feel like I won't need to buy another flashlight, unless I become obsessed with upgrading to something brighter.
