These lights look great and when you first buy them, you will love them and so will all your friends. However, after a few months to a year, the charger base will die. Without the base the lamps are useless. I have 3 sets of Candela lamps. The base has died on each. I did have one base replaced under warranty and purchased one other base as a replacement, but those bases died too. Vessel used to sell replacement bases, but the 4-candle base is now discontinued and they only offer a 2-candle base which is on backorder. OXO sells Candela as well, but does not sell any replacement bases. In my 3 sets, I have a total of 16 candles. So I would need 8 of the 2-candle bases, which would cost $80. Oh and they don't send the power cords with the bases by the way, so it wouldn't even work to order the bases.
This product should be pulled from the market. Thank goodness for reviews so I can at least warn someone else. Read other reviews this problem seems to be common.

These lights are nothing to what they seem online. They're made of cheap plastic and they're not made to look like a tea light in a base. It's just an ugly looking plastic jar with light beaming out of it. For $130 I expected a little more. Online it seems like the base is hollow and there's a tea light inside. Don't be fooled, it's a cilindrical plastic thing that shines. I'm returning mine and getting my money back.Best Deals for Oxo Candela DemiGlow, Set of 8
I realize that these may not be as nice as candlelight but when I am home alone I can spread them between rooms and not worry about fire. They work well in colored hurricanes, not perhaps as nice as candlelight again, but truer in color than other LEDS that I have used before. When I first used these I was disappointed that they didn't flicker like some of the battery operated candles and was also disappointed similar to some of the previous reviews, but here I am about to order another set. I am using the first set in a vacation home and love the convenience of simply picking up lights and scattering them around outdoors by the pool, outdoor seating areas, in hurricane lamps in the outdoor dining area etc. They provide some very nice ambience. The base allows you to pick up the eight candles and scatter them around wherever you want/need them to be. I think they are great and look forward to using another set in my primary residence. They previous set I have had for a year or so; they are stored in a storage room that gets extremely warm and so far, so good.
