I have installed nearly 40 of these LEDs to replace the 50w halogen bulbs that the builder left behind. The colour of these lights is pleasant. It is not quite as yellow as the halogen bulbs, but neither is it the stark white LEDs used to be. The biggest difference we notice daily is the lack of heat put off by these bulbs. Prior to their replacement, the halogen bulbs used to heat a room any time the lights were turned on. It got so bad, that if I left the dining room lights on (where the thermostat is), the AC would kick in. We have yet to see a power bill since installing the LEDs, but the Black & Decker power monitor mounted outside the house proves how little electricity they use.
Overall, a pricey project, but one we are happy to have completed.

Forget about saving energy. The savings are minimal even in the long term.What these bulbs are about is brightness. At 10 watts, I can use this bulb in a fixture that takes 20 watts maximum and they are 2 to 3 times brighter than the 20 watt halogens.
5 of these will illuminate a kitchen with many windows during the daytime in Arizona with no problem.
I got it from home depot where they just reduced its price to 21 dollars and are supposed to last longer than halogens so that makes the price-comparison more reasonable because a 20 watt halogen is about 6 dollars so if you replace a halogen 4 times, it pays for itself.
I wish amazon would stock them better and adjust the price competitively.

These LED bulbs dim very well, and are extremely bright. So bright that they could really hurt your eyes to look at when the dimmer is turned up all the way! I bought a 3-light ProTrack light kit from LampsPlus, and these work very well with it. Overall, these seem as good as halogen bulbs to me. This bulb can easily replace even a 50 Watts halogen bulbs and its completely compatible with existing housing and transformer
