I shot it in a closet with the bulb mounted on the ceiling. The white balance of the camera was matched with the "white" light coming out of the bulb; it should be noted that we will perceive the "white" light from the bulb as being cold. However, since you can mix your own colors, should you want it to display a nicer white, you can reduce the blueness! Unfortunately, there is no way to save your custom colors as presets.
I use this bulb on my porch. It's bright enough to provide enough light to see where you're going no matter what preset color it's on. I have the coolest front porch on my block!

I got two of these lights to shine above our mantle. I had previously purchased two cheaper color changing LED lights (for about half the price each), but I didn't like the lack of diffusing and the lack of brightness.I realized that these are 9 watt as opposed to the 3-Watt E27 LED's I originally owned. These lights are MUCH brighter. They illuminate the entire area about our fireplace, and the LED cover has a pattern that diffuses the light much better than cheaper versions. The only feature they lack when compared to the less bright ones is a smooth fade (at least I haven't found a remote button to activate it and I've tried 'em all). It's not the biggest deal to lack the smooth fade, but it was nice to just leave the old lights in that mode.
I have owned these for a few days now, installing was a breeze. The colors blend pretty well (meaning the edges of shadows aren't exclusively red or blue or green). Aside from the edge, there isn't a significant hot-spot in the middle of these, which I like as well. The light output is very even.
My only issue with these lights is the slight noise created when they are on. It's like they buzz, but each one makes a different noise. I'm not sure if it's my socket but the prior lights didn't make any noise. The buzzing is quiet, but I noticed it once we turned the TV off (but I have sensitive hearing).
(update the buzz is definitely electrical, it's more by the switch and it varies by the color they display. I'm not an electrician, but it worries me because of this I only use them for short periods while we're in the room)
Great lights. Worth paying more for. I don't think you'll regret purchasing these.

This is a unique bulb that has a lot of special features. It is a 9 watt LED bulb that comes with a remote control that allows you to change the color output of the bulb. You can also dim or make each color brighter using the remote control. The bulb and also be programmed to smoothly cycle through the colors automatically, fade, strobe or flash through every color. Controlling the bulb is via an IR remote controller that allows you to set any one of 15 colors plus a white light.
In the white mode this is not the brightest 9 watt LED bulb I have seen but as a unique multicolor bulb it is really special and that is where this bulb shines. I put together a video and as you can see the bulb performed in all 15 colors and in the white mode. I even compared its brightness to several just white light bulbs for your information.
The remote worked well and all of the functions worked on it but the range seemed a little short. I put in a new battery and it was a little better. It seems to be a little direction sensitive with the bulb but ultimately you could get any color or intensity that you wanted. You can dim the bulb or brighten the bulb in any color. When we switched colors the new color matched the brightness of the previous setting. If you turn off the bulb with the remote and turn it back on then the settings are still set the way they were when you turned off the bulb. If you turn off the power to the lamp and turn it back on then the bulb is back to scanning colors on bright.
As a specialty bulb having the ability to display many colors and intensities then this bulb is a 5 star. It is not recommended by me for a reading lamp and it simply is not bright enough as my video shows. It would be good on a deck, bar, as a party light, used in a show booth at an exposition or just as a mood light in your home.

so cool ! regular looking light bulb that with a help of the remote control (that comes with it) changes colors!!!I am ordering few more and changing my store`s window display in to a light show!
I also have one in my .......bathroom and I love it!(but my roommie..... hates it !....oh well... lol)

It is slightly brighter than the 5w I bought, but the colors are not as clean, it has far less responsiveness to the remote, and for some reason it stopped responding to the remote altogether after a few days. Given that it takes up far more space with the builb end rather than the flat end, it is not something I would consider buying again. I eventually just put another regular bulb in.
