I use a headlight frequently when examining patients and have used lots of different ones, from $800 Welch Allyn models to $5 models that are probably best given away as party favors. This one throws reasonable light and is light and convenient. (It's probably not bright enough to use in the OR) My favorite feature is the on-off switch. It is nearly impossible to find a headlight at LL Bean in which the switch doesn't go through four or five "features" such as dim, flash, etc. In the office we need on or off and that's all this light does and that's great. I only gave it four stars because I don't know how long this is going to last. The elastic headband material is really cheap and the rest of the construction is just OK. It'll probably be fine and for this price I can get many before we have spent as much as would take to purchase a new Welch Allyn or Riester model.
